Snowdapple with Icewhisper
"I think they may grow tired of the same games over and over again soon enough." Snowdapple laughed and glanced over at the gaggle of kits and then at the now dozing Coalkit. "I am happy for her but I'm also concerned. She hasn't talked at all yet. She grunts, she purrs and hisses but she won't speak a peep." She confided in the Medicine Cat.

Wishkit and Gazekit with Weaselkit, Wolfkit, and Foxkit
Wishkit squeaked when Weaselkit ran at her. She then started to run toward her friend too. Stopping just short before they collided. She reared up hoping that Weaselkit would be able to stop in time.

Gazekit shook his head at the antics of the two she-kits. "I hope Poppyhawk can handle those two. They really keep us on our toes." He said to Wolfkit and Foxkit. "Do you think we should share the news that we have with other cats?" He added glancing around at the other cats that were watching their group.

Coalkit OPEN
Coalkit got up and padded to just in front of the nursery. There she settled down and fell fast asleep with her paws covering her face.

Turtlepool with Heronflight
Turtlepool watched the kits as the girls ran at each other and the boys talked. "I guess it doesn't take long for information to make it across camp. When it comes to big news it seems like everyone's a gossip." She laughed. "Though I might be one of the biggest gossips of all."

Frostfeather with Sakura
"I really wanna check out the kit too. But she's probably asleep if Icewhisper is out of her den. Maybe you can bring her some prey later. It looks like she could use it." Frostfeather said laying her tail against Sakura's flank. She stretched out one paw. "I promise you will get to see her.

Basilwhisker with Darkclaw
"I would like to think more cats would have helped but the way it seems is that more cats would have died." Basilwhisker said with a sigh. "I just wish I could get this fog out of my head. I know they wouldn't have wanted anyone to be acting this way."
(I love that the guys are talking openly about their emotions.)


Ivysplash with Nutshine and Ophelia
Thats just not the way it works." Ivysplash said. He shook his head and a drop of blood flung onto a nearby leaf. He hoped his scratches would stop bleeding soon. "The clan has to know its got space to hunt and something to protect." He added.

Poppyhawk with Smokeshade
Poppyhawk stirred a little when Smokeshade put his tail on her. "Mama" she cooed half asleep. She started to purr and curled up tighter in a ball falling back asleep.

"I hope she's just being stubborn." Snowdapple said lookimg at her sleeping kit with worried eyes. "Thank you for keeping an eye out. You must have so much on your plate right now."

Wiskit once again charged at Weaselkit and this time she jumped on her. She tried to pin the other down and tried to hold her there. "Got you." She yelled.

Gazekit looked around camp at the warriors still in camp. "It looks like a lot of the warriors have left camp. But I'll go tell Adderheart. Maybe you could Webwillow." He said pointing toward the charcoal bengal she-cat.

"Hello Foxkit." Turtlepool said as the young kit came up to them. "What can we do for you today?" Her meow was sweet and gentle knowing the kit was always worried.

"I just hope nothing else bad happens to the clan for now. I don't know if we could handle it."Basilwhisker said pulling a small fish to the shore and biting it. "I'm sure the kits and Snowdapple are excited about the new kit." He said changing the subject to one that seemed happier news for the clan.

Smokeshade blinked his eyes sympathetically. He settled down beside Poppyhawk and set his head on the edge of the nest. He sighed and started to rest his eyes for a second

"If you clan cats wouldn't care about borders so much, we outsiders would leave you be. Sure, we'd come over here and hunt and make our dens, but at least we would leave you cats alone. Isn't that what you want?" Ophelia hissed, turning back around to face the two cats.

Nutshine watched the loner out of the corner of her eye as she turned to Ivysplash. "We should just get the prey and go back to camp, don't you agree?" She turned her untrustful gaze back to Ophelia.

Pinepaw rolled her eyes and bounded after him, running past him as he stopped. "I'll race you to the pond!" She yowled as she zoomed past him with no intention of stopping until she reached the pond

Icewhisper shook her head with a small smile. "I have, but it's what I agreed to when I became Basilfrost's apprentice all those seasons ago," she said. "Speaking of which, I'll have to talk to Gazekit eventually. For now I want to give him some time to think about it but before he's six moons old I need to see if he still wants to become a medicine cat."
Weaselkit squeaked in surprise as Wishkit jumped on her. Having no time to really react to her sudden attack all she could do was trying to dodge to the side but Wishkit was already upon her when she tried to move. "Get off of me," she laughed as she squirmed beneath Wishkit and tried to push her off.

Wolfkit nodded and began walking towards Webwillow. He glanced at Adderheart who looked like she was about to leave camp but walked slowly enough so Gazekit could reach her before she got to the entrance. Upon reaching Webwillow Wolfkit looked up at the warrior with a excited grin. "Hey Webwillow, guess what! Smokeshade and Jaypaw found a kit on our territory! Jaypaw says she's called Poppyhawk," he meowed to her.

Foxkit felt relieved at the gentle tone of the two elders. "Oh, well uhm... you know how Smokeshade and Jaypaw found a kit today?" he meowed. "Wishkit asked Jaypaw about it and he says it's a she-cat named Poppyhawk." He tilted his head a little. "I still think it's a strange name for a kit though... Anyway, Gazekit thinks she might be around our age."

"We probably couldn't. Not so soon after what happened," Darkclaw agreed. "The clan can really use some good news right now." He paused to catch another fish. "Maybe this kit is just what we need. I bet Snowdapple will insist on keeping it in the clan for a while. The nursery might be getting to small for them though," he added with a slight purr.

Silverpaw glanced over his shoulder and grinned when he saw Pinepaw bounding after him. "Oh it's on!" he laughed as she ran past him and raced after her. Maybe this hunt would be kind of fun after all. He quickly caught up to her and, not wanting to let her win, dashed on ahead as fast as he could.

Ivysplash followed behind Nutshine. He was mad about his interactions with the rouge and his tail lashed back and forth.

"Oh wow." Webwillow looked over to Wolfkit as he came up. "Thanks for telling me I must have missed them coming in when I was out of camp." She purred at the kit.

"I think Gazekit is pretty serious but its a good idea to give him time to think. He is just a kit after all." Snowdapple said happy that her kits seemed so sure about what they wanted to do with their lives.

Wishkit fell off of Weaselkit. "Oof" she said as she bumped the ground. She got to her feet and batted at her friend.

Gazekit picked up the pace toward Adderheart as she looked like she might be leaving camp. "Hey. Adderheart. You know how Smokeshade brought a kit in earlier. Well her name is Poppyhawk and I speculate that she's my age or older." He said quickly hoping to catch her on time.

Turtlepool watched Foxkit. "Wow thanks for getting the information to us qe were wondering about it." She said patting the kit on the head with her tail. "That is a weird name for a kit. It sounds like a warrior name though."

Basilwhisker watched as a school of minnows swam by. "With the kits getting as big as they are I'm sure they are pressed for room. Maybe we should work on expanding all the dens. The clan is definitely growing." He stuck his paw in the water and then licked it dry.

Pinepaw raced past Slverpaw and was so busy watching him that she ran and fell right into the pond. She immediately sprung out of the water onto the grass with a yowl of alarm. She shook out her pelt and mumbled something to herself. She flattened her ears in embarrassment and looked down at her paws.

Nutshine set her mouse down and turned to face Ivysplash. "Are you alright? You haven't stopped lashing your tail since we left the meadow." She tilted her head slightly and twitched her tail subconsciously.

Nutshine nodded. She sniffed at the scratches on his nose before turning back to grab her mouse. "When we get back to camp you should see Icewhisper about that scratch." She meowed before grabbing the mouse and trotting back to camp.

"It's not a decision one should make lightly," Icewhisper said. "But if he still wants to follow this path then I'll gladly accept him as my apprentice." She glanced around camp for a moment and smiled when she saw Gazekit, Wolfkit and Foxkit walking up to some cats. She had no doubt that they were talking about Poppyhawk. "Already sharing whatever they've heard about our newcomer," she purred, amused. "To them it must feel like some super important task."
She then saw Nutshine and Ivysplash return from their hunting trip, the latter seeming to wait for her. She quickly excused herself and padded over to him, dipping her head in greeting. Before she could say anything she noticed the scratches on his nose. They seemed to have stopped bleeding but she would still need to inspect them. "How did you get them?" she asked him as she moved to clean the scratches. They looked like they had been inflicted by a cat but she still needed to hear it from Ivysplash.

Weaselkit quickly rolled over and jumped to her paws when Wishkit fell off of her. She ducked when her friend batted at her but then she reared up to counter her with some paw swipes. With Wishkit still attacking her however she quickly fell over. Weaselkit rolled away from her and then leaped, hoping to knock her over.

Wolfkit's eyes widened at that. "Other clans!" he exclaimed in amazement. "Oh I hope there are any. I'd love to meet them." With a huge grin he added "But even if there are other clans, ours is the best by far!"

Foxkit smiled to himself and purred. "Gazekit thought you'd all want to know more about her," he said. When the elders voiced their thoughts about the new kit's name he nodded. "If she wants to stay here, would we have to call her Poppykit?"

Heronflight purred lightly at Foxkit. At Turtlepool's comment about Poppyhawk's name she nodded. "Do you think her mother knew a clancat once? It would explain why the little one has such an unusual name. I never met any loner with a clan name."

Adderheart stopped and turned around when she heard Gazekit. She crouched down a little as she listened to him. Then she smiled and nodded. "That's quite a bit you've learned about her," she said. "Thank you for telling me. Around your age, huh?" She thought about it for a moment. She had only seen Poppyhawk for a short while, when she brought her the water. But from what she had seen the kit was pretty small if she really was as old as Gazekit or even older. "You know, Gazekit, if she really is around your age that means she needs our clan even more," she said finally. "From what I've seen she's really small. But I suppose it's no wonder. She looked like she hasn't gotten any proper food in a long time."

"It's about time we expand the dens," Darkclaw said with a small nod. "It's good to see how well our clan is growing though." He turned towards the water again and watched for some more fish, not even noticing the two apprentices that were running up to the pond. Only when Pinepaw fell in with a loud splash did he see them, though not before he jumped back, startled. When he saw that it was only Pinepaw and Silverpaw he relaxed.

Silverpaw winced as he heard Pinepaw running into the pond but had no time to properly react. As he moved to help her out she was already leaping put of the water. He quickly turned away as she shook herself, not wanting to get the water droplets into his eyes. Then he took a step towards her. "Sorry I couldn't stop you. Are you alright?"

Pinepaw looked up at him with playful eyes. "Yeah. I'm fine, but you're not gonna be!" She snarled playfully as she leaped onto him and tried to roll him into the water. She then noticed darkclaw and Basilwhisker and waved her tail in greeting, still trying to puch Silverpaw into the water.

Rainpaw (heart) 8 moons. very jumpy. likes to eat shrew. Black she-cat with a bluish tinge to her fur. Sister of Windpaw and Stormpaw.
