Thymeclan New members needed

Poppyhawk shook her head. "It was just her and I. Its been over a moon since she's been gone." She said starting to lick herself.

Coalkit nodded and tried the ducking and rolling again. She rolled to her feet and stumbled a little. She growled a little as she got to her feet.

Wishkit gasped in astonishment. "Another new cat. I wonder if they are gonna stay. They must be sick if they went to Icewhisper." She said rambling a little in her excitement.

Turtlepool pushed the squirrel towards Heronflight. "No you'renot imagining anything." She said taking a bite from the squirrel.

Snowdapple nodded. "I want to take the kit away and hide it from the world." She said her eyes wide with equal parts anger and sadness. "She must be dead to have left it in that state."

Basilwhisker nodded and headed out of camp. He wasn't sure why Darkclaw was so keen on getting back out now but he was ready to go himself.

Icewhisper narrowed her eyes at this. It was unusual for a kit this age to survive by herself. Not that Poppyhawk would have lasted much longer if Smokeshade hadn't found her. For now she would keep the kit in her den where she could keep an eye on it. After a few days Poppyhawk could probably move into the nursery. She knew that Snowdapple and the other queens wouldn't turn their backs on a kit that needed them. Of course this was something she would have to discuss with their leader first but that could wait. There was no way she, or anyone for that matter, would allow a kit to roam the forest by itself. Whether she became part of the clan or not, they wouldn't let her leave until she was old enough and had learned some basic hunting skills. "Well, you'll have to stay here for a while. Until we're sure you can fend for yourself," she told the kit. "Think about it. There's plenty of food for you and you're safe from predators." Not that she would take 'no' for an answer, of course.

Silverpaw swished is tail and purred. "That's better. You'll get the hang of it if you keep this up."

Heronflight nodded and took a bite. "It's still unusual though. I wonder where the kit came from. Maybe we'll know more after the little one got some food and rest."

Weaselkit nodded eagerly. "I want to meet them right now! But I guess we shouldn't bother them. Oh, I hope they'll feel better soon." She couldn't wait to meet that cat and she hoped that they'd be allowed to see the newcomer later.

Wolfkit flicked his tail at Weaselkit. "I'm sure we'll get to see them." Then he turned to Foxkit and pounced on him. With a yelp his brother tried to push him off. Wolfkit grinned as he stepped aside to let him up, meowing an excited "Smokeshade brought a new cat" to the confused Foxkit.

Ripplefur lowered her gaze. "That better be it. Not that I want the kit's mother to be dead, of course, but it's really the only reason I can accept," she muttered. "I'm just glad Smokeshade found it. Now the kit has cats who look after it and shelter from the weather."

Darkclaw walked on ahead but glanced at Basilwhisker once or twice. The older warrior hadn't said anything about that kit yet even though almost everyone had seen it. Maybe he had something on his mind but Darkclaw wasn't sure if he should ask Basilwhisker about it. For a moment he wished that he had invited Adderheart to join their hunt. Maybe she could get him to talk. Oh well, let's focus on catching some more prey first, he thought as they arrived at the pond. He nodded to Basilwhisker and padded over to the water to try and catch some fish.

Windpaw (spring) Gray tabby tom with amber eyes. Likes to hunt. Favorite prey is mouse. A kind 🐱. Age 8 moons.

Snowdapple with Ripplefur
"Its the only excuse I can see that would keep a mother from protecting her kits. I've known cats who weren't very motherly but they would still never let this happen." Snowdapple said watching the entrance of the medicine den.

Wishkit and Gazekit with Weaselkit,Wolfkit and Foxkit
"I bet its someone who can play with us." Wishkit squeaked excitedly. She bounded around and eventually tripped over Gazekit and woke him up. There was a puddle of drool on the ground where his head had lain.

Coalkit with Silverpaw and Pinepaw
Coalkit nodded and tried again with about as much success as the time before. She grunted because she tripped and feel after stumbling to her paws. She felt tired but kept going.

Turtlepool with Heronflight
"I'm surprised the kits haven't made their way into the den yet to get an explanation." Turtlepool said with a laugh. She took another bite of the squirrel.

Frostfeather with Sakura
"Thats odd. We don't usually have warriors bring kits into camp. Especially not ones that look that small and sickly." Frostfesther said as interested in the commotion as Sakura was. "We might wanna stay back for now. At least until Icewhisper is done with the kit." She added

Basilwhisker with Darkclaw
Basilwhisker joined Darkclaw by the waters edge but sat a few tail-lengths away so there was some space between them. Basilwhisker kept trying to start a conversation but wasnt sure what to say so he stayed silent.

Ivysplash with Nutshine
"I'm sure we will. That kit looks smaller than Coalkit and the others." Ivysplash said. He placed his tail on Nutshine's shoulders comfortingly.

Poppyhawk with Icewhisper, Smokeshade, and Jaypaw
Poppyhawk just grunted. She was feeling woozy and weak from lack of food. She wasn't sure if these strange cats were safe or not but they had given her food and water. She started to doze off where she lay though.

Coalkit nodded a small nod. She then leaped up onto Pinepaw again pretending to attack her.

"I don't know what happened bit at least the kit is here now." Ivysplash said trying to comfort the she-cat. "Would a hunt make you feel better? That way you know that it has plenty to eat. Or we can ask Smokeshade about it."

Coalkit growled loudly and leaped from Pinepaw onto Silverpaw. She batted at his head and ears. She jumped down and batted at Pinepaw some more.

Ivysplash thought for a bit and then stretched. "How about the Meadow. We can always pick some catmint for Icewhisper while we're there." He said thinking of gathering herbs jist as a reason to enter the medicine den to see the kit.

Icewhisper watched Poppyhawk for a moment, then she went to make a new nest. Once it was finished she carefully moved Poppyhawk there. She would give her some more of the herbs and ask one of the warriors to bring her some more food and water later but for no she let the kit rest. She used this opportunity to get a better look at the kit, to see if Poppyhawk had injured herself in the last few days.

Weaselkit circled the others, tail swishing in excitement. "Look, Smokeshade and Jaypaw are leaving the den. Maybe we can get a look at the cat if we're really quiet." She paused for a moment. "Or should we try tomorrow? But yeah, you're right, Wishkit! It has to be someone we can play with!"

Foxkit looked from Wishkit to Weaselkit and then to Smokeshade and Jaypaw. "So the new cat is a kit?" he asked after a while.

Ripplefur nodded. She wasn't a mother herself but she knew what Snowdapple meant. For a moment she looked over at the medicine den. Then she turned to Snowdapple again. "What do you think is going to happen now? We can't let the kit go out by herself again. I don't think a kit her age has the means to survive alone out there."

Pinepaw laughed as Coalkit leaped onto Silverpaw. Pinepaw fell to the ground dramatically as Coalkit leaped back onto her again. "Ah, it looks like one of the stinky badgers has been defeated! But can the fierce warrior defeat the other one?" Pinepaw's eyes gleamed with amusement.

Nutshine nodded "Alright, sounds good." She meowed, already cheered up a little. She padded towards the entrance of camp. She padded down to the meadow and sat down in a patch of sunlight. She breathed in all the scents and felt herself relax. She turned to Ivysplash. "Do you smell any prey scents yet?" She asked happily.

Ripplefur purred lightly as she heard Snowdapple say that. "Of course you'd think so," she meowed. "It almost sounds like you want it to live with you in the nursery. Well, I doubt anyone would be against it." She glanced at Wishkit and the others. "Least of all them. Just look at how excited they are."

Silverpaw let out a yowl when Coalkit attacked him again. He stepped back and growled whenever her paws hit his nose, trying to sound like an angry but terrified badger. When Coalkit went back to attacking Pinepaw he watched for a second, then he took a step towards them and snarled.

Weaselkit thought about it for a moment. "Hm. I didn't really get a good look at them. But I think it's a kit. Maybe we can ask Jaypaw or Smokeshade."

Icewhisper found some scratches on the kit but they neither looked or smelled infected. She still took a moment to clean them a bit, not wanting any dirt to get into them. Casting one more glance at Poppyhawk she took a step outside her den, looking around camp to see if she could find Snowdapple.

Darkclaw sat still and focused on the water. A small fish swam by and he quickly caught it. The clan needed every bit of prey they could get, after all. Smokeshade had taught him than even a small piece of prey shouldn't be shunned. While it wasn't leaf-bare yet it was something Darkclaw liked to keep in mind. He glanced over at Basilwhisker, wondering if being out of camp was doing him any good. After a moment he sighed to himself and looked straight at the other warrior. "Is there something that's been bothering you?" he meowed awkwardly. "I mean, it's like you haven't noticed anything that has been going on in camp today and that's not like you at all." He looked away for a second and then back at Basilwhisker again. Then he asked quietly "This is more than you just having a bad day, isn't it?"

Snowdapple chuckled. "I guess I'm just excited as they are." She said happily. "I want to help this kit get better." She added. Then looking up she saw Icewhisper walk out of the den and look around. She waved down the medicine cat.

Coalkit turned when Silverpaw snarled. She let out a squeak and leaped on him. She grappled with his fur trying to bite gently at his ear.

"Wow really a kit." Wishkit said jer voice filled with wonder. "Let's ask Jaypaw." She added bounding off toward the apprentice.

"Huh. Did something happen in camp?" Basilwhisker asked fishing out a fish that was about as long as his arm. It would feed a cat or two he thought. "I guess I'm just really sad about Thymestar and Elmsong." He added biting the fish.

Icewhisper had finally spotted Snowdapple and took a few steps in her direction. "Snowdapple, could you come over here for a moment?" she called.

"Good to hear," Ripplefur laughed. Upon hearing Icewhisper she nodded to Snowdapple. "Well, it looks like you'll get your wish. Let's see what she wants from you."

Weaselkit raced after Wishkit, not wanting to miss anything Jaypaw had to tell them. "It really is a kit!" she squeaked, excited at the thought of playing with the new cat. As she heard the kit's name though she looked confused. "Really? But that sounds like a warrior name!"

Silverpaw fought back a laugh as Coalkit leapt onto him again, trying to make more badger noises instead. He let out a chuckle as she bit him though. With another snarl he turned around and pretended to try to bite her. Then he began staggering around and tried to look desperate. "Aaugh, get this warrior off of me!" With that he reared up and fell down, careful to not accidentally throw her off. "Pinepaw, avenge me!"
