Runningflower curled around the body of three little kits, that weren't her own. The snowy-rosette colored queen, couldn't take her eyes off the little bodies that suckled at her stomach. Her heart ached for them, as she thought again, of the moment that Rosestar, her beautiful leader, had died beside her. She was still in shock over the whole thing. Unable to understand how the, once great leader, had fallen so easily, to kitting. Hadn't the queen, had more than one life.? Why did Starclan rip her away from, not only her clan, but her kits as well. Runningflower, of course, had taken the kits in, when the medicine cat, Echodapple, had asked. The kits had no one else, not with Rosestar being gone and Goldentalon, their father, being on the brink of death. "Oh, Please, Starclan..Don't take these kits father, as well." With a soft sigh, the queen nuzzled the kits, one by one. First, her muzzle touched the biggest and oldest kit, A Golden and white, tabby tom, before moving to press her muzzle to the second oldest, a red and gold calico she-cat. Finally, the she-cat moved to the smallest kit. A very small, Orange, black and white tom. Runningflower's heart swarmed with warmth for the kits. She couldn't help but love them already. Feel a softness for them. No matter what, she would hold them close, and protect them, as her own. As she lay there, looking at Rosestars kits, Runningflower couldn't help but thing of her own kits, and her heart started to ache, all over again. Two of her kits, hadn't made it very long, dying soon after her kitting. While her one surviving kit, Lavendarkit, lay in the medicine cats den, curled up with the young Shimmerpaw. Both were very ill, and the medicine cats, couldn't figure out how to help them. The snowy rosette queen, couldn't help but fear, that she would lose her last kit to this sickness. It broke her, at points. So many were sick, at the moment. So many were falling ill, to the sickness, that no one had the answers for. Two of her clanmates, already dead, with how many more to follow. Could the clan, take anymore loss.? ---------------------------------------
As the queen, sorrowfully. took over the kits, Echodapple was outside, passing the news on to Rosestars sister, Meadowthorn. The medicine cat could feel the fear and pain, coming from her clanmates, as they started to circle around her and the young warrior. Soft cries and whimpers, came from some of the clan, as they took in the news, of the death of their leader. Every single member in the clan knew, that their replacement leader, was unable to take on the role of leader..Leaving...Who exactly.? The medicine cat couldn't control the unease that she felt, her eyes flashing around her clanmates, to the sky, where her ancestors where. They needed a sign, but Starclan knows, when they would give it to the clan. "Meadowthorn...What will happen now.?" The question echoed through the camp, as a small, creamy colored molly, pushed her way through the crowd. The elderly cat, dipped her head respectfully to Echodapple, and gave Meadowthorn a soft nuzzle, of comfort. As she spoke, her voice soft, and her honey colored eyes, full of wisdom. It was the oldest cat of the clan, a very respected elder, Petalberry. "We all know, rightfully, the Leaders position, would go to Goldentalon. As he is too ill, to go to meet with Starclan, and receive his nine lives..." She paused, gazing around her clanmates, before continuing on. Her voice becoming determined, as she spoke. "We must figure out who will guide us, until our new leader, can rightfully take over. A temporary leader..No. More like a temporary guidance. And I believe, this discussion should be between Echodapple, The elders, and our Senior warriors." She looked to Meadowthorn, as she finished speaking, blinking grief from her eyes. "But before this discussion happens..We must bring out leader out into the clearing, and get her ready for her trip to Starclan. She deserves a proper ceremony, That Echodapple can give her, to send her off. And we can say our goodbyes." Flicking her tail towards the two senior warriors, Thistlefrost and Adderspring, to retrieve the leader's body, from the nursery. She waited until the two warriors had nodded their agreement, and slipped in, before slipping back out of the nursery. The lifeless body of Rosestar, sinking between them, as they carried her to the middle of the clearling, and gently set her down. Echodapple slipped between them, moving Rosestars body, to make her look as if she was sleeping, before starting to brush her white and golden tabby fur, flat. Petalberry held her tail up, commanding the rest of the clan to keep their distance, as she gently nudged Meadowthorn, urging the golden tabby molly, towards her sisters body. It was time for goodbyes. And the first one that should be able to start the goodbyes, should be the very kin, of Rosestar.
(I hope this is good. ^.^)

(Finally back! Sorry! I had to run some errands. Also, can both Meadowthorn and Runningflower name the kits? It kind of seems more fitting that family should be able to name them as well. Sorry.)
Meadowthorn's ears were ringing as the cats spoke and moved around her. "...gone?" Was her whisper. How? How could her sister be dead! StarClan, say it wasn't so! Rosestar, who had looked after her after their parents had died. Rosestar, who she could remember visiting as a tiny kit. Rosestar, who had been a solid foundation for the clan, dead. It didn't seem real. It couldn't be real! But there they were. Dragging Rosestar's body out into the clearing. From around her, mournful yowls echoed around with harsh coughs. Tears blurred her eyes and her throat constricted, unable to mutter a single noise as she watched with shock and Rosestar was gently laid in the clearing. Meadowthorn watched for several heartbeats, praying that her sister had life left in her. How did she lose them all so quickly. She hadn't been leader long! Bumblefern was standing next to her, trying to provide some comfort. Her former apprentice, Fawnlight, was pressed into her fur, crying gently. Her other apprentice was nearby, but that's all she knew. Others were pressed around each other, trying to find some comfort among the death and sickness. Fear was heavy. Meadowthorn took a careful, shaky step forward. Then another and another until she was standing over the body of her sister. She stared down at Rosestar's fur, usually so neat all messed up. A wail rose from around her, and it took Meadowthorn a minute to realize it was coming from her. Collapsing, the she-cat pressed her fur into Rosestar's flank, smelling the scent of milk and Rosestar's own scent.

(I fixed it! I didn't even think about that, I apologize!)
Echodapple watched as the clan gathered around the body of Rosestar, her heart aching for her clan, at the cries and coughing around her. She waited until Meadowthorn had slumped down against her sister, before continuing to clean the leader, and get her fur as silky and flat, as she could. She wanted her leader to join Starclan, with her body as beautiful as she had kept it when she was alive. The smell of milk, and death both, filled the air. She flicked her tail for her apprentice, Snailpaw, to join her. She needed him to go and grab her some Rosemary and Mint, so help hide the scent of death. Before she would speak the words, to send her off to Starclan. Her gaze wondered to her den for a moment, to where she knew that quite a few sick cats lay, unable to attend the vigil. Rosestars very own mate, had no idea, of what was happening. Her head hung, as she thought of the group in her den. Goldentalon, the deputy. Amberthorn, a young warrior. Shimmerpaw, a young apprentice. Sparkflame, a respected elder. Lavendarkit, the only living kit of Runningflower and Bumblefern. And many more. How could her and her apprentice handle this.? How many more would come to her, falling ill. Petalberry joined Meadowthorn, as the molly lay beside her sister. Gentle brushing her tail, over the grieving sisters spine. Her honey colored eyes, glimmered with tears, as she looked over the warrior. Keeping quite, and respectful, of the clan around her. She would speak, after Echodapple started, wanting the medicine cat to start the words, before adding her own memories of the leader. Near them, sat Chirppaw, keeping his head down, as he sat with his clan. He was young, but all he knew, was Rosestar as his leader. Today was a very sad day to the young apprentice. Cardinalpaw lay near Petalberry and Meadowthorn, his little heart hurting for his mentor. He let out a soft, meow, wanting the golden tabby, to know that he was with her and he would stay with her. He may be young, but he loved his mentor already, and couldn't bare the thought of her having to go through this. A little further away, sat Ashface, with Pinebush. And near them, sat Thistlefrost and Adderspring. The four warriors, all had their heads bowed, and their tails wrapped tightly over their paws. None of them spoke, only keeping close. Each and every one of them, grieving for the loss of their leader, and the sickness of their deputy and part of their clan, in their own way. Fear and worry, seemed to fill the air around them, as well as pain. What would this little clan do now.?

Snailpaw looked up at Echodapple. The tired tom looked around the camp at the pained cats trying to give Rosestar a proper goodbye. He heaved a sign and pressed his pelt comfortingly into his mentor before backing away slightly. "I will go grab the rosemary and mint." He said to her softly before turning and padding away, his head and ears low. The young tom padded towards the den where the scent of sickness and herbs was the strongest. Wrinkling his nose at the smell, he tried to block out the wheezing and coughing in order to focus on his task. It was hard, but he knew he couldn't linger long.
Fawnlight gently ran her tail over Cardinalpaw's back. She understood his position fully, having been Meadowthorn's apprentice herself. She knew the pain he was feeling was both for Rosestar and Meadowthorn. Everything seemed backwards. Instead of celebrating the lives of the kits, they were mourning their leader. Pain was everywhere right now.
Bumblefern left Meadowthron's side to pad into the nursery. The tom ducked his head into the darkness to gaze upon his mate and the three fuzzballs she was nursing. "Are you alright?" he asked her softly, not wanting to disturb the newborns. Stepping carefully and quietly, the tom curled around her other side to help support her nursing. "Is there anything I can do to help?"

As Echodapple sat, waiting for her apprentice to return, she finished grooming her leaders fur. When she finally looked clean, she adjusted the leaders body slightly, making it look as if the beautiful leader, was only merely asleep. She finally sat behind the leader, her tail curled over her paws, and her eyes, watching over her clan. The air was full of so much sickness, grief and death. Turning her head up towards the stars, her ice blue eyes, searched the sky. "Starclan help us.." The silver molly prayed to herself. She tried to keep her head high, holding a strength about her. She needed to be strong, for her clan.
A pained coughing fit, sounded from one of the elders, Sparkflame. He was one of the last to fall ill, just joining the others in the medicine cat den, a couple of sunrises ago. The elderly black and orange tom, looked up as Snailpaw entered the den. He opened his mouth, speaking in almost a wheeze, his green eyes, clouded and watery. "Snailpaw..? Is that you..? What's happening out there..?" The old tom had heard the cries, from the main clearing, full of sadness, fear, and grief. He knew something bad had happened. But he hadn't the strength to join his clanmates. Beside him, was the younger warrior, Amberthorn, pressed tightly against his side. Many of his sick clanmates, shared a nest with another, the comfort of another cat, seeming to help with their fear.
Cardinalpaw hardly responded to Fawnlights gestures of comfort at first. He kept his peach colored eyes on his mentor. Finally, his gaze traveled to the body of Rosestar, and a whimper escaped him again. He may be young, but he understood that distress the clan was in. With their deputy seriously ill, and their leader gone, what would the clan do now. Finally, the scrawny apprentice turned, shoving his nose into the pale brown fur, of Fawnlights side. His ears flattened to his head, and his kinked tail, held tightly to his side. Chirppaw moved to Cardinalpaws other side, sitting against the other cinnamon colored tom, as a form of comfort. He kept his head down, slightly, his hazel eyes, full of sadness.
Runningflower, who had her head resting on her paws, lifted it, as a familiar brown tabby pushed his way into the den. Her russet colored eyes, full of sadness, started to flicker with a slight happiness, at the sight of her mate. Leaning against Bumblefern, as he curled up behind her, she soaked in the comforting presence of the warrior, before speaking. "I am alright..Managing..I hate that I can't sit vigil for Rosestar, but I am the only one that can care for these three, at the moment.." Her voice broke a little, as she spoke, and fear, was thick in her throat. "Oh..Bumblefern. I am terrified. I am so worried..Worried about Lavendarkit. What if she doesn't make it..? What if we lose her..? I..I don't know if I can lose another kit. She's our only survivor.." She shook a little, as she spoke her fears. Her distress, making the kits squirm and cry against her. Forcing a deep breath out of her, and shifting her body again, she nudged the three kits closer to her, giving them each a gentle lick, as she settled them back down.

Snailpaw winced as Sparkflame's voice floated toward him. He debated if he should say something. Would it be better to tell the elder the truth or would it cause him to give up? It didn't seem right to tell him right now, least of all from him. Echodapple should be able to tell them that Rosestar was dead. He was just an apprentice and not the best cat for the job. "Nothing you need to worry about right now, Sparkflame. I'm sure Echodapple will be back soon to talk to you. Did you eat the herbs we placed by your bed while you slept? You know you will feel better through the day when eating them first thing."
Robinpaw bounded to where his brother and Chirppaw were curled up near Fawnlight and Meadowthorn. Pressing his face into his brother's fur, the tom shook with fear and uncertainty. Rosestar had been so young, so full of life. She had been their rock through this sickness. She had just seemed to know the clan would make it though, that the medicine cats would find a cure. Now, it seemed so far away. The young tom forced a cough down so he didn't disturb his brother and friends. It was probably from the old rabbit he ate earlier.
"Shh, shh. It's going to be alright, Runningflower. Lavendarkit is strong like you. She will make it through. I have faith StarClan will see to it." He nuzzled her side and purred deeply. Looking down at the kits, he realized how much they favored Rosestar. "Once these little ones are done eating, youn can go say your goodbyes. I'll stay with them. It is only right that we care for the kits until Goldentalon gets better."

Echodapple looked towards her den, as she waited for Snailpaw to reappear. When it felt like the apprentice was taking too long, the silver tabby stood and headed to her den. Slipping inside, she spotted Snailpaw, being questioned by one of their sick elders, Sparkflame. Slipping up to the cats, she nudged Snailpaw, whispering to him gently. "Take the mint and rosemary, and go put it in place, please. I will join you, after I have spoken to Sparkflame." Turning back to the elderly black and orange tom, she pressed her nose to his head, feeling the fever coming off of him. Sighing, she glanced down at the herbs, the tom still had yet, to eat. Nudging them closer, she urged him to consume the herbs, that barely helped, but at least helped the sick cats to rest. If anything, all it was doing, was slowing the dying process. In a gruff hesitation, Sparkflame stared at the herbs, eyes flashing with disgust. Finally, he dipped his head, lapping up the mixture, before resting his head on his paws, with a wheeze. He could hardly keep his eyes open, to question his medicine cat about the chaos outside of the den. His eyes closed, and his breathing shifted, to an uneasy sleep, as Echodapple sat beside him, brushing her tail along his spine.
At the presence of his brother, Robinpaw, Cardinalpaw shifted, to press close to his shaking brother. He tongue ran over his brothers flank, trying to give him some kind of strength and reassurance, even in his own fear. Between the presence of Chirppaw, Robinpaw, and Fawnlight, he started to feel a slight bit better, finding strength, from the closeness of his clanmates. Chirppaw had moved to give Robinpaw his place, beside Cardinalpaw, and placed himself on Fawnlights other side. Not wanting to be alone. He had seen his mentor, head into the nursery, probably to check on his mate, Runningflower. With a sad sigh, he put his head on his paws, staring blankly at the white and golden tabby's lifeless body before him.
Runningflower nuzzled into her mate, heart throbbing with sadness. She knew her mate was right, but fear still clung to her. So many of her clanmates were sick. How many more would die, before the medicine cat found a cure.? Her own kit, could hardly eat or drink anything. How was she suppose to believe that Starclan would spare the little soul. Shaking her head, she closed her eyes, just wanting to find some form of sleep, as Rosestars three kits, suckled from her.

Snailpaw looked up at his mentor and gave a brief nod. He grabbed the herbs and padded out to the clearing. He didn't hesitate as he crossed towards Rosestar. Placing the herbs gently on the ground, he did pause now. He had only seen Echodapple preform the herbal ritual once with Hazelleaf. The tom glanced back to the medicine cat's den, unsure. One thing he did know, he needed to separate the herbs into piles. So he did just that while he waited.
"Who died?" came the rasp of Berrybush. The injured elder looked past Sparkflame to Echodapple, curious and afraid. "Mint and rosemary? Herbs for a burial. So don't try to hide it." She coughed hard for a moment before looking back up at the younger cat.
Freckledpaw laid down at the edge of the apprentices den. His eyes dull and tired. He gave out a big sigh before looking up to the rapidly darkening sky. "StarClan, hear our prayers. Save our clan." He whispered to himself. The tom looked back at the clan gathered around their fallen leader. Freckledpaw was going to wait till mostly everyone else had said their goodbyes before giving his.
Bumblefern groomed his mate quietly till she finally drifted off to sleep. She needed rest, that much he knew. Carefully getting up, the tom left the nursery. The sun was setting, sending the sky into a world of warm colors. It was beautiful and painful. Painful because it felt too nice on a day like this. But a part of Bumblefern wondered if the sunset was from Rosestar in StarClan. Signing, the tom padded over to where Meadowthorn was with Fawnlight, Chrippaw, Cardinalpaw, and Robinpaw.

Petalberry gazed up from where she crouched beside Meadowthorn. Her honey colored eyes softened, as she watched the medicine cat apprentice, sorting some rosemary and mint. Standing stiffly, she gave Meadowthorn a loving nuzzle, before padding around Rosestars body, to help Snailpaw. She knew the apprentice had only seen this process, one other time. Being the eldest cat in her clan, Petalberry had done this ritual with the medicine cats, long before Echodapple had even been thought of. Giving a respectful dip of her head, the elder spoke, her voice slightly cracked. "Allow me to assist you. I am sure Echodapple is busy." Without a moment to even blink, the elderly cream tabby, grabbed the mint leaves between her teeth, and started to chew it into a pulp. Making sure the leaves were a smooth consistency, before she spit it out onto her paw. With gentle, and light strokes, she smoothed the strong herb, into Rosestar's fur, her voice as soft as a feather. "When a member of our clan passes, we want to cover up the stench of death. We want our warriors to leave this world, as proudly as they entered it. Crushing the mint, releases the scent of it, the most. I have watched many before this, use this trick. Then very lightly, rub the pulp into the cats fur. Not too much, now. We don't want it to be overbearing." As she finished speaking, she finished rubbing the herb into her past leaders fur, before turning to the rosemary stalks. Very gently, she tangled the plant stems, into Rosestar's fur. This would keep them with her, even as she was to be buried beneath them. "Now the rosemary..Take a few of the stalks, and tangle them within the neck fur, and a couple along the back fur. This will be sure that they will stay with her, as she is buried. It will protect her, from any scavengers, as this coats the scent of death. Does this make sense.?" The sweet elder, gazed down at the work she had down, then looked at Meadowthorn again, her eyes filling with sorrow. Finally she turned to Snailpaw. She hoped the young cat wouldn't think she was overstepping. She meant no harm, in a task that her clan had witnessed her do, many times. It felt more of an honor to her, that she got to do one final thing for Rosestar, as she left their world, to join Starclan.
Panic flashed in Echodapple's eyes for a split second, but she blinked it away so fast, one would think they imagined it. Rushing up to the grey molly, she touched her cheek to the elders. Her heart pounding in her chest, she avoided the question for a moment, to check Berrybush out. The molly looked no worse, nor any better, than when the medicine cat had left her. Giving the youngest elder of the clan a few gentle licks, she scolded softly. "Berrybush, you should be sleeping. You need all the rest you can get. We need you to get better. Did you have any herbs today.?" She paused, before sitting beside the older molly, a sigh echoing around the den. Leaning in closer, and continuing to eye the elder, she spoke with thick sadness in her throat. "Rosestar is making her final journey to Starclan..She passed away after kitting.."
Ashface left the side of his brothers mate, Pinebush, to join his apprentice, Freckledpaw. The young tom was sitting away from everyone else, and Ashface couldn't blame him. The warrior couldn't help but sympathize with the grey and white tom. Freckledpaws sister, Shimmerpaw, was laying in the medicine cats den, barely hanging on as the sickness gripped around her. The ginger toms own brother, Dustyfoot, was curled up near Shimmerpaw right now, fighting the same sickness. Sitting beside Freckledpaw, Ashface let his head hang, his flank pressed against the smaller toms. "How are you holding up, Little one.?"
Chirppaw looked up from his place beside Fawnlight, as his mentor, Bumblefern approached. Gazing at the brown tabby tom, with almost a sad relief in his hazel eyes. It was almost time. The sun was setting. As soon as the colors that lit up the sky, disappeared and the stars of their ancestors, formed in the sky, Echodapple would speak the words to send Rosestar on her way. This was one of the saddest days of the cinnamon colored toms life.

Snailpaw blinked gratefully at Petalberry before grabbing some on the mint and chewing it gently. With the same carefulness of the elder, he gently soothed the mint into Rosestar's fur. Diligently, the tom worked with the elder until the mint was gone. He sniffed at the rosemary, more unsure of how to weave it into her fur. He gently picked up the herb and tried to tangle the stalk into her haunches without making it too messy. More than likely, it was a bit of a mess, but it would work. Deciding to do something more unique, Snailpaw took the last stalk and wrapped it around Rosestar's tail. It looked pretty and different. Like Rosestar had been. The toms ears flattened in sadness. How could they have not seen this coming. Medicine cats always knew when a leader was on their last life. It seemed too soon for Rosestar to die. Maybe Echodapple would know. "Thank you, Petalberry," he said. "I-I wanted to do my best for Rosestar. But I had only done the ceremony once before for Hazelleaf."
Berrybush jerked her head away from the she-cat in complete shock, eyes wide. "There's no way!" She rasped out loud. A noise from Shimmerpaw made her fall silent. She glanced around the other sick cats before whispering frantically to Echodapple. "That makes no sense. Rosestar was too young to die like this. She might just be stalled in StarClan..." The she-cat seemed a bit panicked but certain. Something was wrong. Something else must have happened.
Freckledpaw pressed his side into his mentor's. He sighed heavily. "I don't know, Ashface. With my sister being sick, I feel so alone. And now Rosestar is gone. Goldentalon is too ill to travel to the Moonstone (different from the original clans), and everyone seems so lost. I don't understand what to do."
Bumblefern sat beside Chirppaw. He ran his tail down his apprentice's back before gently nudging Meadowthorn. He wasn't trying to be rude, but there were a few things that needed to be done first before she could truly morn. He glanced around the camp, taking it all in before giving Meadowthorn another nudge. "Come on. You need to let the medicine cats finish the ceremony." Stiff with grief, Meadowthorn slowly rose from her spot. She never took her eyes off of Rosestar before she was fully standing. She locked eyes with Petalberry for a moment as she looked around camp. At all the sad faces and devestation. She shivered, feeling so alone in that moment. Meadowthorn stepped a bit back to allow the medicine cats the space that they would need. Knowing that her apprentice and his brother were near, the she-cat pulled them both close to her as to comfort them as well like a mother to a kit. She looked to Fawnlight and shared a sad expression with her before looking back at Rosestar.

Giving a nod of approval, as she watched the medicine cat take over, Petalberry let out a gentle purr of encouragement. Rosestar would be so proud, to see how well Snailpaw was doing. Her gaze softened, as she watched the little cream colored tom, weave a bit of rosemary into the leaders tail. How unique, something she hadn't seen before. No response was needed, as the apprentice thanked her for her help. Pressing against him, in a sign of comfort, she leaned close, and whispered so only he could here. "This is the hardest task of a medicine cat. But in the times of death, is when the clan needs you to be the strongest. Keep your head high, your eyes clear, and your voice soft and strong, always."
Letting her head hang, Echodapple felt her shoulders start to sag. She herself, had the very same questions. Usually a medicine cat knew when their leader was on their last life. This time, she had no idea that the clan was about to lose Rosestar. She was just has confused and horrified, as the rest of her clan was. How could she explain to everyone else, why Starclan had taken their leader, and where had all her lives gone.? Giving a shake of her head in frustration, the small silver molly stood up, voice stern. "We will talk later, Berrybush. Right now, I have a ceremony to do. I have a clan to attend to. You need to rest." She turned her back and headed for the main clearing of the camp, stopping only to add. "And that is an order." Pushing the way out of her den, shaking her fur out and trying to brush away the bad feelings she had. Echodapple slipped up to where Snailpaw sat with Petalberry. She sat at the head of Rosestar, dipping her head in a greeting to everyone. Her eyes shone with approval at Snailpaw, as she saw that Rosestar was ready for her. Letting her ice-blue eyes travel around the camp, Echodapple lifted her head up to the sky, watching the last of the colors fade away and the warriors of Starclan start to dapple the sky. Flicking her tail, in a signal to her clan, the medicine cat began to speak, eyes glowing with the reflection of the moon. "Rosestar was one of the greatest leaders, we could have the pleasure to lead us. We give thanks to Starclan, for the life of Rosestar. She was dedicated to her clan, from the moment she was born and her memory will never fade from our minds. Now we commend her spirit to Starclan. May you watch over us in Starclan, as you have always done in life, Rosestar." With the final words spoken, the medicine cat flicked her ears to her clanmates, in permission to join her, as she settled on to her stomach and pressed her nose into her leaders forehead, eyes open. "It was a pleasure working beside you, Rosestar. Until we meet again, My friend."
Ashface was about to speak, when Echodapple joined the clan. Lifting his head, he watched Echodapple begin to speak. Turning his soft grey eyes to the stars, he wondered if Rosestar was up there, watching them now. Listening to the medicine cat speak the final words for Rosestar and to her, he echoed her last words. "May you watch over us in Starclan, as you have always done in life." Around him, he could hear his clanmates, echoing his voice, softly and respectfully, before falling silent. Adderspring and Thistlefrost, where almost the same voice, blending together. Pinebush spoke, soon after, her gaze thick with sadness. Then, Petalberry followed, voice thick with grief, as she sunk to her stomach, and pressed her nose into Rosestars fur. The elder had watched the once great leader, become just that. From a small kit, to a swift warrior, to a strong deputy, to a gentle leader and expecting mother. Her heart ached, that the queens very mate, was near death as well. Would these little kits, be left without either of their parents.?
Cardinalpaw pressed as tightly against Meadowthorn as the little tom could, shoving his face against her shoulder fur. He wrapped his tail over her back, trying to purr comfort to her, that only came out as cracked as the Medicine cat spoke the final words to Rosestar. He listened to the clan echo her last words before nudging Meadowthorns shoulder. He gazed at her with large peach colored eyes, expecting the Molly to join the medicine cats and the elder, Petalberry beside Rosestars body again. No one else spoke, or moved, as they waited for Meadowthorn to take her place beside her sister again. They would move up and speak their goodbyes, their memories, after she got a chance to.

Snailpaw scuffed his paws on the ground. He looked nervous and sad. "How can I keep my head high when someone I care about dies?" He looked up to the rapidly appearing stars. He watched them for a moment, wondering if he could spot the spirit of Rosestar. "I know we will one day all join in StarClan. But I still miss them here. I miss my mother, and her kind words. I miss my father with his deep voice. I wish they were here with Chirppaw and I..." Bowing his head, the young apprentice fought back the tears.
Berrybush hesitated as Echodapple left the den. As the medicine cat started talking though, she left her nest and watched her speak. The elder's eyes were wide with confusion. "That's not possible..." She said again as the spirits around her shifted to welcome Rosestar to their ranks. While she couldn't actually see them, she could feel them around her. The badger attck that had almost kiiled her several moons ago had left her with the feeling of stars in her paws. As such, she often thought she should have become a medicine cat. But Echodapple and Snailpaw truly were the best and had a greater connect to StarClan than she did. It was mostly spirits she felt. And the one other thing she was able to feel was the spirit of their leader. Rosestar's spirit wasn't that connected with StarClan yet. But suddenly, it was completely. Something had happened.
Meadowthorn felt the gentle nudge of her apprentice and the gazes of her clanmates. Realizing that Echodapple was done, the she-cat slowly began to walk forward. She blinked the tears from her eyes as she sat down and looked at the still form of her sister. Several heartbeats went by before she spoke. "Rosestar...you were always there to guide me, even as a kit. You were the cat that everyone looked up too. All of my friends thought it was so cool that you were my older sister. You helped me with so much in life. I...I don't know what I'm going to do without you...I know you will be happy in StarClan with our parents and your siblings. I'll miss you...so much." The she-cat laid back down beside Rosestar and pressed her nose into her fur, refusing to move for the rest of the night.
(I added the bit about Berrybush to kind of push the story along.)

Petalberry ran her tail along Snailpaw's spine, acknowledging that she had heard his words. She kept herself quite, as Echodapple and than Meadowthorn spoke over Rosestar's body. As they finished speaking, she lifted her head to the stars and took her turn in speaking. "I watched you grow in life. From a tiny stumbling kit in the nursery, to a mischievous and eager apprentice. Watching you learn quickly and become a strong and brave warrior of this clan, was a pleasure. You were one of the only warriors that would take advice from the older warriors. Watching you achieve the goals of a deputy, and then step up to become a wonderful leader, gave me such a thrill in this lifetime. I never would have imagined that you would have became our leader one day, when I first set my eyes on you. But you turned out to be one of the kindest and most loving warriors that our clan could have been blessed with. It was an honor to serve under you and it saddens my heart, to say goodbye. You should have been here, seasons after I had gone to Starclan." With that, the cream colored molly gave a sigh, and nuzzled her nose into Rosestar's fur. Joining Meadowthorn.
Pinebush pushed her way forward, touching her nose to Rosestar's fur. The white and golden tabby's fur brushed her nose as she spoke. "We were raised together. Trained together. Became warriors together. You were my best friend, Rosestar. Starclan gained one of the best cats, that I have ever known. I will miss all of our adventure's." The sorrel ticked tortoiseshell sat beside Meadowthorn, resting her tail over the molly's shoulders. The two had done the very same as Rosestar and Pinebush. They'd grew up together. Done so much together. Pinebush felt as if she had lost a sister, she couldn't imagine how Meadowthorn felt.
A rusty cough came from Sparkflame, as the large black and orange tom got to his paws. He was a little unsteady at first quickly forcing himself to straighten up. Maneuvering himself carefully around the other sick cats, he slipped up to his denmate, Berrybush. His dark green eyes were clouded with fever as he sat beside the grey molly, wheezing heavily. His ears pricked up as he listened to the warriors speaking in the clearing. "Am I hearing correctly, Berrybush.? Rosestar is dead.? How can that be.? I must be hearing things." The tom shook his head as he spoke, he couldn't imagine such a young leader could possibly be gone already.
Echodapple sat at her post at the dead leaders head and stared up at the stars, wishing for a sign from Starclan. She could almost feel their presence around her, as she had given the final words to Rosestar. But now, she felt nothing but chilly. What had happened to her leader.? What was going to happen now.? What was she suppose to do with her broken and sickly clan.? Who would lead them.?" "Oh Starclan..Please give me a sign. Please help us."

Meadowthorn could feel cats pressing against her, but the she-cat was deaf to their words. Right now, all she could think about was her sister. Even the future of the clan seemed to be in the back of her mind. It's not that she didn't care, she just didn't see it as the most important thing at the time. Even with Goldentalon being sick...Meadowthorn's head shot right up suddenly, ears pricked forwards. She looked hard at Echodapple for a heartbeat before standing up and away from her sister's body. With one look to Pinebush and Petalberry, she said, "The kits..." before turning and rushing into the nursery.
"I don't know, Sparkflame," Berrybush replied and looked towards their fallen leader. "Echodapple said she...she died in kitting. But something isn't right. She should have had several lives left." The she-cat felt something dark and cold settle in the pit of her stomach. She didn't know what was going on, but something had happened to Rosestar that made her lose her last lives.
A gentle scent wrapped around Echodapple as Rosestar pressed against the she-cat. Right now, she couldn't tell the medicine cat exactly what happened. She could at least bring comfort. And a promise of a better future. "All will be well, my friend." She whispered quietly. "Times will be tough ahead, and the clan will face some of their biggest challenges. Have faith in us, and we will never leave you."

(I apologize for taking so long. I hope you are well. Thank you for all your patience.)
The Snowy rosette colored molly that lay curled around the three kits of Rosestar and Goldentalon was just starting to stir when Meadowthorn pushed her way into the nursery. The queen stared with wide eyes at the sister of their fallen leader, mouth open as if to say something but nothing came out. Blinking away the sleep from her eyes, she moved her tail from the three tiny kits that suckled at her belly, revealing them to Meadowthorn. Runningflower dipped her head in a gesture of welcome and apology to the warrior. She had no words, as she turned her russet colored eyes towards the little creatures that kneaded her belly. Warmth filled her gaze, once more as she touched her nose to each of them. “Meadowthorn..Meet your sisters kits.” The large black and orange tom let out a rattling cough, as Berrybush spoke. A groan slipped from him, as his shaky legs gave in underneath him. He let out gasps breaths, as he recovered from his coughing fit. Eyes clouding thick with fever, he gave a rough shake of his head. How could this be.? What would happen to the clan now.? Why was Starclan allowing this to happen.? He could sense his denmates Unease beside him. “Only Starclan knows why things happen the way that they do, Berrybush..but I agree, something isn’t right.” The tom wheezed, resting his head on his paws as he listened to his clanmates Morn for Rosestar.
Echodapple’s gaze snapped from the sky to Meadowthorn as she rushed off to the nursery. She knew in time, she would need to go check on the kits. A sudden warmth filled her body, as the gentle and strong scent of Rosestar wrapped around her. Closing her eyes, the medicine cat drew in the comforting scent. Her ears pricked up, as the rest of the world faded and she could hear the soft whisper of her previous leaders voice in her ear. Her fur prickled uneasily at the thought of more challenging times ahead. But she tried to relax, as she knew her ancestors would never leave them. Rosestar would never leave her clan. “Oh..Please tell me what to do. How to heal my clanmates.” The pleading cane in a whisper so soft, no others would have been able to hear the medicine cat, unless they were close and focused on her.

Meadowthorn's eyes were focused on the kits. A bit of joy was leaking into her heart. Bending down, she sniffed and nuzzled each of the kits, ignoring their squeaks of protest. "There so small and beautiful..." She whispered. Looking back at Runningflower, the gratefulness in her eyes shown. "Thank you. I know this must be hard on you with your kits...But this means the world to me." Meadowthorn was soaking up the scent of the kits and how they looked. There was a moment when her heart broke again at looking at the white and gold tom before smiling, knowing that Rosestar would love a look-a-like kit.
Berrybush looked down as Sparkflame laid down beside her before looking back up at the clan. Her tail flicked back and forth, but she was careful to avoid the elder beside her. StarClan, what will we do now? she though as she forced herself up and into the clan clearing. Berrybush would avoid the others, but she would properly mourn her leader.
(I'm kind of blanking on the reply. Sorry!)
