>> Rainpaw hissed to himself. He had made on e mistake and they had just started on their journey. He had failed already. Flattening his ears, he followed his mentor up the tree and into their safety. With being in the trees, they had new things to watch for; Thin branches and faulty strength, they needed to be careful now. Nodding his head, he began to jump from branch to branch, taking time in between to dig his claws in so he didnt fall. They were well on their way to where they were supposed to be going. Making it to the two-leg clearing, the little tom paused. Two-legs were here frequently with their young, sometimes teaching them their ways in the water. Flattening his ears as he watched a little twoleg run out of the water, he pressed himself down. "You would think if they're trying to teach them how to fish they would do it more quietly..." He whispered to his mentor, his ears flat against his head as the two-leg noises shook his whole body. >> Lightningstrike followed through with the rest of the cats he was on patrol with. To the trees they went. Launching himself upwards, the tom winced silently. It had been moons since he used his claws to climb, making his claws feel sensitive to the roughness of the trees he now had to climb through. Waspstrike had bounded from branch to branch without effort, leaving Morningdew and Lightning to follow. Once up the tree, he sat and waited for his turn to jump to the next branch. Watching as Morningdew misjudged her jump, ice cold fear lodged in his throat as the little she-cat was left dangling by her front claws. Jumping into action without thinking, Lightningstrike flew from the branch he was on, landing in front of her. Quickly grabbing her by he nape of her neck, he pulled her up, dragging her body as far as he could into the tree they were now in. His claws were bloody from the weight of lifting her up into three, but for right now, they were all still in one piece. "Morningdew!" He gasped, sniffing her legs up and down for any sort of pain. {AGH i am so sorry xD}
>> Acornkit lifted a paw in retaliation, only to stop mid-swipe as Nightstar and Combrastorm left their den. Nightstar had not been seen much since the fight, leaving the clan under the watch of their new deputy. His sister Rushingkit cowered to his side, her warmth trickling down his legs into his paws, only to be stopped from the fear for Brightkit who had taken a turn into their leaders fragile body. With wide eyes, Acornkit whispered quietly. "Brightkit needs to be careful..." She was larger than any of the other kits in the nursery, in fact, she was practically the size of an apprentice already. "Do you think Nightstar is going to make Brightkit an apprentice early?" He asked, jealously rising in his throat. >> Brightkit sat down with her head hanging. She had pounced full speed into her weak leader, causing her to stumble. Her whole being filled with embarrassment as the leader worked to regain her balance. Perking her ears at her leaders praise, she lifted her eyes. "I will be the best warrior thi-" Her words cut off from her mothers improv grooming session. She turned her ears back, narrowing her eyes as her mother licked her all over, clearly worried that she had upset Nightstar. Grumbling inwardly and letting out a little mew of protest, Brightkit stepped away from her mother rough tongue. "My father is the best warrior out there. I will be just like him." She mewed arrogantly, puffing out her chest. Brindlebriars eyes snapped to where Brightkit had collided with her leader. Flattening her ears, ready to jump to the defense of her kit, she felt herself relax when Nightstar approached with praise rather than correction. Lowering her head out of respect for her leader, she slowly got to her paws and went to Brightkit side, licking her fur that was sticking up all over the place. "Brightkit is eager to become and apprentice, she chats endlessly about it." She chuckled nervously, her way of apologizing for her kits lack of judgement. She glanced over at her mate, her eyes filled with love and adoration for the tom. Turning her gaze towards the queen her mate mentioned, excitement rang in her heart. "If Applenose is on the mend, more kits will be joining us shortly!" She mewed quietly, not wanting Applenose to catch wind of her words and cower away. She was eager to help the new mother on her journey. Littleripple felt the glances from those in camp around them. They were probably all shocked that she had made it out of the nursery, and rightfully so. With all the grief hitting the Queen, its some what surprising her little, expecting body survived it all. Leading Applenose out the camp entrance with a little tap of her tail, she figured a longer walk in the fresh outside air would set things going for them. The smell of milk was strong, coming off her in waves, giving littleripple the sense that things were moving along nicely. Choosing the path through the woods where the pair were required to step over fallen trees, shimmy through bushes and around low hanging branches, she simply kept her pace with the Queen. Mere moments after being out and about, she heard Applenose gasp, the Queen crouching down onto her large belly. "Its time." Littleripple let out a loud cry, alerting whoever was in camp that they would need some assistance. Dewdrop had not been seen around for days on end, so hopefully Pecanpaw could spare a few hours helping Applenose with her kitting. In trees my Harmony Stream & Open to Anyone >> Wolfspirit dug his claws into the dry bark of the large tree he perched in. Weeks ago when his clan was brutally attacked by the water monster, Wolfspirit had decided to sit above the water by the stream and watch. What for? He was unsure of what exactly he was waiting for, but sitting in camp among the hurt and sick made his paws ache for any sense of normality, giving him a new sense of drive he had not felt before. His clan had been atacked. His leader had fallen ill. Kits were being born left and right. Applenose lost her mate. While Starclan was belssing them with life in the nursery, life outside had been taken in turn. Narrowing his eyes , he felt his fur rise. Other cats were here, he was no longer alone. Turning his head slowly, he sniffed the air, the scents of five different cats grazing the roof of his mouth. Scorchstreak with his apprentice Rainpaw, Waspstrike, Lightningstrike and Morningdew. He lowered his head and blinked. They were out on a patrol, and had no reason to bother him. Wolfspirit and Lightningstike got along easily, seeing their outlook in life was very similar, even more so since the passing of his mother. His attention snapped out from his thoughts as he heard the shredding of bark as the small patrol took the trees. He lowered himself onto the branch he took refuge in and held his breath, not wanting to explain to others what he was doing up here on his own. They seemed to have some sort of plan for themselves, heading away from where the tom was plotting.

RunningfireWhere: In LeafClan camp, outside the Warriors' den With: open Runningfire sits right outside of the Warriors' den, gazing around while keeping a lookout of his surroundings. He stays partially inside the den, trying to shelter from the rain. His vision has been declining recently, but he tries assuring himself that his eyes would get back to normal soon enough. He knows he is getting old and should retire to the Elders' den soon, but he's stubborn about staying a warrior until he is completely unable to. He strongly believes that the more warriors actively hunting, the better. He awaits Speckledflame.
HornetstripeWhere: In LeafClan camp, exiting the dirtplace With: open Hornetstripe slips out of the opening to the dirtplace and back into the camp's clearing. He looks around at his Clanmates, wondering if he should at least try to socialize today. He has been struggling to get closer to any of his Clanmates after the incident with Martha, especially since he is afraid he would lose any of them like he had lost her. On top of that, several of his Clanmates disapproved of him being in a relationship with a loner. That was moons ago. I need to finally step out of my shell again.

>> Ashstream had been rather useless since the attack of the gator. The medicine cat was no where to be seen when the cats arrived in poor health, Nightstar had fallen ill, and poor Applenose had fallen into a pit of self wallowing. By the looks of it, Littleripple had been able to get the large queen up and out of the nursery to walk around, hopefully to induce labor in the queen or just to get things headed in that direction. Sighing loudly, Ashstream began to walk towards the dirt place, watching as his paw prints were left in the mud behind him. Without looking where he was going, the tom crashed head first into Hornetstripe. Jumping in surprise, the tom puffed out his russet grey fur. "Oh, Im sorry. I should've been paying attention more."

Cobrastorm Warrior Camp w/ Nightstar, Brightkit, etc. ( ♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥) Cobrastorm settled down beside Nightstar watching her praise Brightkit after the young kit bumped into her causing Nightstar to lose her balance for a moment. Cobrastorm watched the camp as more cats begin to stir, the sight of seeing Applenose and Littlefeather emerging from the nursery and a feeling of relief washed over him as the clan was worried about Applenose and her kits. Kits, the future of the clan, Cobrastorm imaged himself in Thistletongue' s place spending time with his own kits along with Nightstar one day the idea brought amusement to him. As Brightkit enjoyed the praise she received from Nightstar, he snorted a laugh before he flickered his tail in response to Lightfall, as the new deputy came over to them, Lightfall was handling her new position well even with everything happening to the clan she was proven to good choice to help lead the clan along side Nightstar
Twilightblaze Warrior Training w/ Almondpaw Nodding, Twilightblaze watched as Almondpaw made her way back into the water before diving under the water to try and lead the fish toward her. Twilightblaze slipped into the water, seeing Almond corralling the fish toward the shore feeling confident the plan would work given the fish would be trap between the two of them and the shallow water closer to the land would give them advantage and the probably be focus on attacking first before escaping. Pushing forward with a few strong kicks, Twilightblaze extended her claws trying to hook a fish nearing the shore.

HornetstripeWhere: In LeafClan Camp With: Ashstream ( Brindlebriar ) Hornetstripe's swirling thoughts were interrupted as Ashstream runs straight into him. He just about loses his balance, but he soon gets back to his paws. "Please watch where you are going..." the senior warrior mumbles. Hornetstripe isn't particularly close to Ashstream, as with a lot of the cats in LeafClan. Even his relationships with his sisters, Sweetberry and Applenose, were starting to become strained. His relationship with his son, Wolfspirit, was already strained but it's only been getting worse. Every cat knows how much his relationship with and eventual disappearance of Martha affected him, changing the once upbeat young tom to a more serious and distant grown one. He sighs, thinking he probably should've been nicer to Ashstream. "I mean, I understand. A lot has been going on recently... we have a lot on our minds."

>> Ashstream || Mothdapple
Ashstream flattened his ears. The response from Hornetstripe had caught him off guard. He had run into him after all, so seeing that the older warrior was frustrated, Ashstream dipped his head. "It seems as though Starclan have frowned upong us." He mewed, looking around. Most of the cats in the camp were either ill or injured in some way, making his heart sink. "Im sure with some time though, things will go back to normal..." He trailed off.

HornetstripeWhere: In LeafClan Camp With: Ashstream ( Brindlebriar) Hornetstripe nods his head. "I sure hope so... but I'm just wondering what we must have done to deserve this?" He questions, lowering his green gaze. "This does not seem like any old coincidence." He turns his gaze back to the younger tom, flattening his ears. "I do hope everything will go back to normal very soon. I don't think the Clan can afford to suffer much longer." He sits, curling his long tail around his front paws. It's nice to talk to another warrior, but I'm afraid this topic leads to more worry.

As both Thistletongue and Brindlebriar moved closer, defense in their eyes, Nightstar simply dipped her head to her two warriors. She could understand their need to defend their kit, especially her being the only surviving one they had. A simple purr of amusement escaped her throat at the way Brightkit puffed out her chest and bragged about her father. The brown tabby looking a bit embarrassed by the amount of attention being brought to his leader about him. With a finally flick of her tail to Brightkit, she dipped her head and touched her nose to her head. "Now, Brightkit. Whether you are growing as fast as your father did, or not. The rules are the rules. 6 Moons. I promise the day you reach your six moons, I will pair you with someone. Now, If you all would excuse me."
Dipping her head in a swift goodbye to the family, she turned her attention to her deputy, who had spoken in her ear as she was addressing Brightkit. "Thank you, Lightfall. This clan would have been lost without you. I am so thankful for you taking over while I was sick. We have much to talk about, but that can wait until later. As I see a little white apprentice impatiently waiting for you." She touched her nose to the ginger and white molly's ear. "After you get back in later, please come find me."
As she turned her attention away from Lightfall, she leaned into Cobrastorm. A purr rose up in her throat as she twined her bushy tail back with the toms. Amber eyes turned to the darkening sky as thunder echoed in the air. Lightning flashed in the distance. "It's going to start raining, anytime now. I see quite a few of our clanmates are out of camp, they'll be running back before we know it." The amusement in her voice was thick, ears twitching at another crack of thunder.
Sweetberry-- [40Moons][Warrior][Molly] Where - - Medicine Cats Den. With - - Skunkpaw. [~Skyblaze~ ] - -
As they reached further into the forest, Sweetberry closed her eyes to the breeze that seemed to sneak through the forest. The smell of rain was so thick in the air, the sun being blocked by dark clouds. It gave a sudden dimness to the forest around them. As the breeze picked up, the pair paused to feel the wind brush through their fur.
Turning her blue eyes to the black and white apprentice beside her, the warrior gave a soft purr of amusement at the position she was in. She sat on her hind end, her injured paw tucked against her chest and her good paw up in the air, feeling the wind between her toes. After a moment, she followed the little molly's actions, ending up on her hind quarters. Carefully, she lifted both her front paws up on the air, spreading her toes on both paws so she could feel what Skunkpaw was.
It took her a moment to respond, thinking carefully of her words before she spoke. A sadness seemed to resonate in her blue eyes as she looked up to an opening in the thick forest, gazing at the clouds. "Honestly, Skunkpaw, I think we will be. But I feel as if Leafclan has more troublesome times to get through. Warriors and apprentices are healing, Our minds faster than our bodies. Yet, we have lost so much in the moons that have gone by. And we still have the gator to deal with. The rogues to deal with. I don't know who made Starclan mad, but I feel the darkness that has befallen our clan has more than meets the eye." Scorchstreak- - [45 Moons][Warrior][Tom] Where - -Training. With - - Rainpaw [Brindlebriar ] As he guided his apprentice up the tree, he was well aware of the young toms soft hiss of disappointment at himself. Forcing himself to pretend he hadn't heard Rainpaw's anger at himself, he dipped his head as the multi-colored apprentice led him through the branches. He made a good note to avoid thin branches, timing jumps perfectly and finding a perfect path through the tree branches. A swell of pride filled the somali toms chest as they reached the Twoleg clearing. They sat in a larger oak tree, watching through the leaves at the naked creatures. They were positioned in a spot where the twoleg clearing, met the sea. Many twolegs played amongst the shallows of the water, hollering and speaking gibberish.
At Rainpaw's words, Scorchstreak gave a tiny laugh. He swept his tail along the toms spine, before pointing with his front right paw at a spot where a large twoleg was teaching its kit to swim. "They don't catch fish that way, Rainpaw. I'm glad to see them out, a good lesson to show you. Twolegs teach their young to swim, as we teach you guys to. Often, the kits do the swimming and the bigger twolegs stay on shore."
Morningdew- - [20 Moons][Warrior][Molly] Location - -In the Warriors Den With - -Waspstrike & Lightningstrike - -[Robinbreeze & Brindlebriar ]
Eyes closed tightly, Morningdew felt her paws starting to slip. She let put a gasp as she lost a grip with one paw, just as she was pulled up to safety. Waspstrike had pulled her up, as Lightningstike had joined them, helping in the process. As Waspstrike stepped back to give her space, Lightningstrike sniffed all along her legs. She crouched on the branch, shaking like a leaf in the wind, before regaining her breath. Forcing her fur flat, the silver and white warrior finally let out a small sigh of relief. "My goodness. Thank you for helping me. My paws slipped out from under me. Thank Starclan that creature doesn't seem to be wondering around today."
Once she was calm and collected again, Morningdew forced herself to stand up again. With a dip of her head to both toms, she simply brushed her tail against each of their shoulders. "I promise, I'm alright. Just a little startled. Come on, let's get going." Moving past Waspstrike, she jumped along the branches, until she was a safe distance from Harmony Stream. "I think we can take to the ground, now that we aren't so close to water. What do you two think.?"
Speckledflame- - [80 Moons][Warrior/Elder][Molly] Where - -Back at camp. With - - Jadepaw/Runningfire [nimble & Mothdapple ] As she landed on her apprentice, the little molly fell back, bunny kicking at her stomach. A grunt escaped the older molly as the breath was kicked out of her. After a soft swipe to Jadepaw's ears, she retreated, eyes warm and accepting. Thunder rumbled in the distance and a dimness seemed to fall around them. With a quick catch of her breath, the older warrior dipped her head.
"Good job, Jadepaw. However, I believe we should head home. There is a storm on the way." Turning, she worked her way back to the moor, where she snatched up their prey, before leading Jadepaw back to the camp. Giving her apprentice a nudge as they reached the camp, she nodded her approval, before taking their prey to the fresh-kill pile. "Get yourself something to eat."
As soon as she spoke to Jadepaw, she quickly snatched up the rabbit she had caught earlier and slipped up to Runningfire, who she had spotted sitting near the warriors den. Upon reaching her mate, she wrapped her body around him, nuzzling him in a greeting. Dropping the prey on the ground, she settled down on to her belly. "Would you like to share this rabbit with me.?"
Thistletongue - - [55 Moons][Warrior][Tom] Location - -Walking around camp. With - - Brindlebriar & Brightkit. [Brindlebriar ]- - At first, Thistletongue felt great embarrassment at the attention from not only his daughter, but the clan leader. He flattened his ears slightly, only to perk them back up as Nightstar mentioned that his daughter must follow the rules, before excusing herself and turning to her deputy. He was about to bat his daughter away, when Brightkit was tackled by Rushingkit. He laughed, shaking his head at the little bundle. "Make sure you don't get into too much trouble, you three."
After watching them for a moment, he slipped up to Brindlebriar and nudged her towards the camp entrance. In the distance, he could hear the call of Littleripple. Blinking in surprise, he flicked his tail at his mate, Littleripple and Applenose had just gone that way. "Go and help them. I'm sure you could be of more help than anyone else. You've been through this already. I just saw Pecanpaw go to his den, he needs the rest."
(Don't want to interrupt the conversation between Pecan and Dewdrop. I think it's safe to say that the queens normally help each other through the kitting process and only get the medicine cats if something is going wrong. I think it's a tradition that Leafclan should have. Queens help Queens with everything. Nesting, Kitting, and feeding and raising the young.)
Walnutpaw - - [9 Moons][Apprentice][Tom] Location - -Warriors Den With - - Bearswipe. [Fallenleaves ]- - Listening to his mentor speak, his eyes glowed with the praise in his Bearswipes words. He ears flicked slightly at the thought of the young Bearswipe. How different the warrior must be, now that he was older. Yet, Walnutpaw had much respect for the brown tabby tom. He wondered slightly what it was like to not know anything about where you came from or who your family was. All that Bearswipe had of his past, was the three sisters that had come to the clan with him. He'd heard stories of the four kits, found alone and surrounded by fox scent and blood. Most say they were the kits of rogues, who had been killed protecting them from a fox.
Flicking his thoughts away, Walnutpaw finally got to his paws, letting out a sigh. He pressed his nose to Bearswipe's forehead, before speaking. "I should probably do something today. Are you allowed to walk at all.? I can help you. Maybe we can go for a walk.? Get you out of this den."
Almondpaw- - [9 Moons][Apprentice][Molly] Where - -Training to fish. With - - Twilightblaze. [Taiyou ] As her mentor dove into the water, Almondpaw herded the group of fish at her. With a swipe of her paw, she watched Twilightblaze snag a fix in her claws. As the swarm of fish panicked at the approach of another feline, they turned, right into the jaws of Almondpaw. Snagging the closest fish, the little molly kicked her way up to the surface. As she burst above water, a gasp for fresh air exploded from her mouth. She kept the dead fish in her maw, kicking out for the land. Upon reaching it, she dropped the fish, one that was medium sized, and gave a little shake. Turning, she looked back for her mentor, hoping she had managed to catch a fish or two.
Her excitement quickly faded as she glanced at the darkening sky and lightning struck out in the distance. A crack of thunder, so loud, it had her crouching. Ears flattened, she turned her eyes back to where Twilightblaze was. The water was starting to get ripply, unsettled by the coming storm.
Frostpaw - - [7 Moons][Apprentice][Molly] Location - -Apprentices Den. With - - Sandpaw [~Skyblaze~ ]- - As Sandpaw joined her in the open clearing, Frostpaw looked around the bustling camp. Relief seemed to wash over her for a moment. To see so much activity, as so much time of emptiness. Now, seeing their leader out and looking healthier. As well as Applenose with Littleripple, looking ready to leave the camp. Brindlebriar and Thistletongue playing with their kit, as well as two of Palespirit's. Even her sister herself had just limped out of camp with her mentor, Sweetberry.
Yet, at the sight of the black and white molly, Sandpaw's words seemed to slice through her. She stared down at her paws, eyes clouding slightly in shame. In the time since her sister's injury, the black molly had avoided her sister. Not because of anyone, but her own shame. Own sadness. Own fear. She'd followed her sister into the path of danger, and left her to face the monster alone. When she had been terribly injured, Frostpaw had feared her death. And her little sister had almost died. She'd been unconscious for a week. She'd simply dropped prey off to the entrance for her, or for her mother and her, getting news of her from anyone else. Yet, she herself had not gone to face her sister. She felt as if she had failed her.
"I..No..I haven't seen her. I've been to ashamed to. What if she blames me for her injury.? I'll be a warrior before her now. I can't imagine how upset she is about that. She'll be behind in her training. An Apprentice longer." Sadness was thick in the young molly's voice as she voiced her fears. She gave a soft sigh and shook her head, not wanting to talk about it anymore.
Pecanpaw- - [9 Moons][Medicine cat Apprentice][Tom] Where. - - In Leaders Den. With - - Dewdrop [Fallenleaves ] Pecanpaw had been cautious at approaching his mentor, and with the right thought too. He knew her emotions were probably overwhelming at the moment. Yet, even preparing himself, he was not expecting her anger. When she turned on him, hissing and fur standing on end, the brown somali simply lowered himself to his belly. His ears flattened and his eyes widened slightly. He should have expected this, yet it still startled him.
Though, her moment of anger ended and she withdrew, hanging her head. The whimper that escaped her, filled Pecanpaw's heart with dread and his stomach twisted. What could he do to help her now.? Besides take care of her. She was, after all, his mentor. His clanmate. Yet, he knew that Dewdrop would need to speak with Nightstar. Taking a deep breath, he picked himself up, clearing his gaze and keeping his voice steady. He had to do this, for his clan. It was his responsibility.
"Dewdrop..We need to tell Nightstar. I think we should have a meeting with the leader and deputy. I will be with you. Nightstar won't exile you. You know she would never, especially knowing you are carrying kits." He paused, heart pounding and then slowly reached out and curled his bushy tail over her shoulders. "Who is the father, Dewdrop.? Which warrior.? Do you need help telling them.? I know this is going to be hard, but I promise I will help you."
Snowpaw - [7 Moons][Apprentice][Molly] Where. - - In Camp. With - - Lightfall. [~Skyblaze~ ]
As she crouched with the mice, Snowpaw watched her temporary mentor impatiently. Her tail swiped the ground behind her as she waited. After a moment, she glanced to the darkening sky, blue eyes filled with curiousity. Would Lightfall take her out, even if it started raining.? Maybe they should stay in camp. Clear out the old bedding. Lightfall could rest, while she did the work. She made a point to bring that up. She was sure the deputy would appreciate a break.
As her mentor approached her again, she flung the mouse by its tail, right at her. Giving a soft purr of greeting. Taking a big bite of her own mouse, she chewed quickly before swallowing her prey. "So, I was thinking, Lightfall. With rain on the way, Maybe I could clear out old bedding and replace it. You could hang out with me, rest some." She was almost positive that her temporary mentor would argue, especially being the deputy. She had a job to do, yet Snowpaw knew that no one had been working harder than the new deputy herself.
Sunflowerpaw- - [8 Moons][Apprentice][Molly] Where - -Fishing. With - - Wildmane. [Fallenleaves ] As she struggled to drag the two fish from the water, she heard Wildmane wading towards her. Her voiced filled her ears, yet it was muffled at the water that plugged them. She picked up the paw that had one fish in it, claws clinging tight into its scaly body. The other clamped in her jaws, preventing her from talking.
Stretching out her paws, she offered the bigger fish to Wildmane, glad to have the help in bringing them to the shore. Her eyes brimmed with excitement at having caught two at once, something she had never done before. She'd only caught a few fish before, most by sitting at the waters edge.
Applenose - - [40 Moons][Queen][Molly] Where. - -In Nursery. With - -Littleripple [Brindlebriar ] As they worked their way from the camp, the movement in her belly grew more intense. She winced slightly as a sharp pain hit her, but ignored it. As they moved over fallen branches and weaved around a bush, the pain returned, causing her to crouch, gasping in shock. Alarm flared in her green eyes as she looked up at Littleripple's flat orange face. Green eyes met hers, and the peachy cream molly couldn't help but find reassurance in the older warriors presence. As she let out an alarm call for anyone nearby, the queen winced again, groaning. Her belly felt like it was about to rip apart.
She groaned inwardly, cursing her kits for choosing to come, now that she wasn't in the safety of the nursery. Thunder rumbled in the distance, and the sky had darkened immensely. Wind blew around them, as the storm brew up even more. Rain would fall, anytime. "Of course, I would have my kits in the midst of a storm." The gasp that escaped her was both full of pain, as well as annoyance and laughter. As a ripple went through her body, the queen instinctubely pushed, and a tiny bundle plopped to the ground.
Rushingkit- - [0-6 Moons][Kit][Molly] Location - -Nursery With - - Family. [z - Brindlebriar ]- - At Acornkit's words, the little molly flattened her ears, eyeing the leader and Brightkit. Brindlebriar had left their side and joined Brightkit, as well as Thistletongue. With a gruff sigh, she opened her mouth to comment to her brother's speculation about the largest kit of the nursery. Yet, her words never left her mouth as Nightstar spoke to Brightkit, explaining to her that no matter what, she would have to wait until she was six moons. Giving a little hop, the blue molly skipped around her brother. "See, Acornkit. Nightstar would never be so unfair! Come on, Let's go get Brightkit to explore with us!"
Before Acornkit could speak another work, the kit took off, barreling up to her calico denmate. Jumping on to the back of Brightkit, she grappled with her neck, trying to knock her off her paws. Growling in her ear, Green eyes shining. "Come on Brightkit, Let's go explore the camp!"

He looks down at the rabbit she had brought. "Of course, how are you doing? How did training Jadepaw go?" He asks her, plopping down onto his belly. The older couple has gone through a lot recently, especially with their recent loss of their son. The old tom is anxious for what's to come. But most of all, he is worried about Speckledflame. “Help me?” A hollow laugh slipped from her maw, her eyes growing unfocused once more as she thought of her clanmates. Thought of the blame so many had been ready to push onto her at the slightest slip up... this would be her undoing. Even if Nightstar did her best to protect her, a fallen healer was bound to be the target of ridicule at best, vehement hatred at worst.
The tremors that danced across her pelt soon became quakes. If the clan knew her kits to be outsiders, their feeling of betrayal would only grow. “It was Copperfall.” The name warbled as it passed from her jaws, Pecanpaw would no doubt interpret it as grief and in a way it was. Even though the tom was dead he was no doubt watching her soil his name but even worse the thought of Snakes eyes, knowing that she was lying even if it was for the best... how would his expression twist knowing that she was claiming the kits to be from another tom?
Dewdrop only hung her head low, curling in on herself as she struggled to keep breathing, the weight of those green eyes in her mind... it was worse than even the stares of anger from her clanmates.
———
Wildmane splashed forward hurriedly for take the other fish, laboriously pushing away her resentment at being outdone even by an apprentice. “Nofice chatch.” The warrior muttered around the shining fish, eyeing the one Sunflowerpaw was dragging. She followed her apprentice closely till they reached the shore, her eyes wandering towards the sky.
With a loud plop Wildmane dropped the fish to speak properly. Without taking her eyes of the gathering storm she meowed, “we should hurry back with the prey.” Finally she dropped her gaze to the rich green eyes watching her and the sky. “Good job today, the clan will eat well with these.” Though she meant the words they tasted bitter on her tongue. How had Sunflowerpaw become so skilled under her training when Wildmane herself was such a poor example of a warrior? Was it all talent?
A soft scent crept by, familiar and comforting. Wildmane’s head was a blur as it snapped towards the trees, the direction in which the scent was quickly fading. She swore she spotted the large, noble figure of some cervidae fading into the distance. It was no doubt some sort of twisted comfort from starclan.
The from on her face morphed into a scowl as she once more turned her head up to glare at the clouds and the stars hidden far beyond them. ‘You’ll have better luck trying to comfort carrion.’ She thought with a hiss, without caring if they’d heard or not.
“Let’s hurry back.” Wildmane grumbled before snatching up the fish and loping away.
———
Bearswipe snorted softly at the insinuation, “I’m not completely helpless.” Though it took a bit of effort, he’d never had the best balance with his lack of a tail and all, he could hop about on three legs. “My legs not the problem though.” He couldn’t help but grumble a bit as he pictured Pecanpaw hounding his steps once more. The apprentice already acted like a full blown medicine cat, even if he was prone to extreme bouts of nervousness. “Pecanpaw say’s it’s best I rest for now...” Bearswipe had never been one to disobey when his sisters weren’t involved. But now, he didn’t even know if a bit of their mischief was hidden in him, he hardly knew who he was without them by his side.
Doeleap would have been doting on him as Swansong came to pester her over this thing or other, desperate to seem like she didn’t actually care. Meanwhile Wildmane would be trapeasing through the forest trying to catch him the best prey to eat. And even if she’d come back with nothing, as she was prone to do, Bearswipe and Doeleap would have welcomed her warmly. She would have curled against his back to pout as Doeleap doted on her as well. Bearswipe laughing all the while. He wouldn’t have needed to go for a walk, he would’ve needed nothing else but them.
“Actually I’d love to take a walk.” Bearswipe grunted as he hauled himself to his feet, teetering in place a moment before finding his balance. His hazel eyes slid over to Walnutpaw and he hoped vainly that his sudden desperation to escape wasn’t too apparent.
———
After cleaning himself as best he could of any rabbit blood, Sharppaw turned for the trees this time. His scrutinizing gaze assess the trees with cold calculation. Cinderblaze had trained him well even if she was a bit too playful for companionship to ever blossom between them. He was grateful for that at least.
On wide paws he looked for the trees even as the rumbled of thunder sounded high above. He’d hunt in the rain till his mentor told him otherwise, obedient as a warrior should be.
The wind brought with it many scent but strongest of all was the scent of raven, possibly a few of them.
Sharppaw slowed as he reached the tree-line but held a steady pace as he followed his nose deeper into the shadows. They weren’t close enough yet that he needed to creep so slowly.
The scent grew stronger near some flowing water, the sound of it drawing him in. Searching his minds eye he did his best to remember where he was and what lay ahead. Ah, he was near a small slice of a brook, barely wider than two of his paws and not nearly deep enough to fully submerge them. Still it served as a good drink for thirsty prey and Sharppaw pressed himself flat as he slid across the cool grass like a snake.
Through the thinning trees he spotted two shadows that hopped and flitted along the brooks edge, the water a faint glowing band of silver in the weak grey light flittering through the clouds. It was ravens who seemed to be playing a game he couldn’t tell the purpose of. Still it wouldn’t be easy to catch one with the mad hopping about they were doing.
Plans flitted through his mind as the birds did before his eyes, his paws creeping ever closer to the water.
They were on the other bank but hoping it was an easy feat, the hard part was picking a target and finding its pattern. Sharppaw slid out from under a bush, forced to draw even closer now. The ravens too preoccupied to notice him.
Or at least that’s what he’d thought... a shrieking caw ripped through the babbling of water and fading rumble of thunder. In a flurry of shadow and feathers the two ravens sprang skyward and sailed out of his reach.
Icy grey eyes watched the two ravens settle on a branch beside another one, his glinting eyes seeming to stare smugly down at him. A lookout, Sharppaw could kick himself.
The ravens began to caw all together, a cacophony of grating sound, a sound that reminded him of laughter. Sharppaw almost hissed at them in answer but instead let out the breath he’d been holding and lifted his head proudly. With an arrogance that might have been a bit over the top over some birds, Sharppaw turned lazily and began to stroll away. But the casing laughter followed him all the way through the forest, along with the whisper of wings.
By the time he’d reached the meadow Sharppaw was scowling straight ahead, pointedly ignoring the birds which hopped along the treetops, lost in their amusement.
Sharppaw decided he hated ravens.
———
Swansong was nearing the stream, sparrow and mouse in jaws. They’d been easy to find again and dig up, though the white molly ditested the taste of grit in her mouth. Sighing she dropped the prey a few tail lengths from the water and slid towards its edge with the grace of a seasoned hunter.
She’d lap up a few mouthfuls just to get rid of the taste then she’d been in the trees to cross, safe from...
Swansong stared down at her reflection which looked up at her with fear. The look made the white molly bare her fangs, the reflection following suit.

Waspstrike - Forest - Lightningstrike, Morningdew Waspstrike took to another tree as Lightningstrike joined them. He was glad that the monster hadn’t been lurking, just waiting for the right moment to strike. He parted his jaws to scent the air, make sure of his thoughts, but instead only found the scent of prey and Leafclan. He had a feeling someone else was nearby, but Scorchstreak and Rainpaw had just passed. He cleared his thoughts with a quick shake of his head and turned back to the patrol. “I think we should keep it safe and travel in the trees until the stream is out of sight. Then we can take to the floor.” He just wanted to be sure that they wouldn’t run into the beast. As they continued forward, he scented the rain on the way. “If we make this fast, we won’t have to stay out in the rain for long.”
Cinderblaze - Meadow - Sharppaw Cinderblaze caught sight of her apprentice as he was walking back from the forest. He didn’t seem to have anything in his mouth, but she knew he would have something. The pale ginger she-cat padded toward a small rabbit warren she knew existing on this vast meadow. As she neared it, she crouched and stalked toward it slowly. Her paws could just barely pick up the vibrations of movement beneath her, but those rabbits were out of reach. Her ears picked up the movement of a small rabbit in front of her and she narrowed in on it. It was both smaller and weaker from the looks of it as she parted the fronds of grass that blocked her view. Either it was sick, or just plain weak, she couldn’t tell. Cinderblaze bunched her muscles beneath her and sprang, ignoring the chaos that erupted around her. Her eyes stayed locked on her target as it tried to zip away, paws pounding the ground as she closed the distance between them. The rabbit seemed a bit confused as it darted in every which way, but that proved helpful to the warrior. She managed to catch up and dig her claws into its hindquarters. As it squealed in pain and shock, she pulled it closer and closed her jaws around its throat. Carrying the small, limp rabbit toward her pile, she figured it was about time to head back to camp. She grabbed the rest of her catches in her mouth and padded toward the place where she had called their meeting place.

Lightningstrike huffed when Morningdew claimed she was alright. The last thing they needed was for her to fall and be swallowed whole by the gator, how in Starclans name would they report that back to Nightstar if that were to happen. Flattening his ears in slight agitation, the tuxedo tom-cat leaped from where he was sitting, eager to get on with the patrol so he could be back at camp with a large mouse to fill his half empty belly. Glancing around him, he nodded at Morningdews suggestion to leaving trees and traveling by ground now that they were away from Harmony stream. "I haven't smelled any rogues recently... I wonder what they're up too." He mewed, sniffing the air. Outside camp with Littleripple and Applenose & ♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥ Brindlebriars ears perked as her mothers warning screech reached her ears. It was not one of danger, but more like a cry for help. Looking over at Thistletongue and the little group of kits playing with each other, the queen nodded. Applenose may have fallen and needed help or something. Or maybe her kits were on the way. Regardless, she was needed. Nodding at Thistletongues words, she sent a silent prayer to Starclan. It had begun to spit rain, so if Applenose was kitting, she had better to it quick. Poor Pecanpaw had been running around nonstop for the past week, but this was her duty to help. Darting out of the camp entrance with her tail high, she sniffed the air. The smell of fresh kits hit her nose with such intensity that the speed she ran with could have only been giver her from Starclan themselves. Lunging around a bush, she could see Applenose on her side with Littleripple licking a small, helpless, newborn kit. Smiling to her mother, Brindlebriar made her way to Applenose's head, lifting her chin with her tail tip. "You can do this!" She encouraged as another ripple took over Applenoses swollen body. Once another kit had entered their clan in the woods, Brindle began to lick the little wet one, willing its breath to come. Hearing the little kit cry, joy filled her heart. Applenose had two breathing kits right now, more than what she as given during her kitting. Lifting the kit to sit against Littleripple's warm dry fur, Brindle made her way back to the flank of the kitting Queen. "One last push Applenose and we can get you and these precious gifts back to the safety of the nursery!" She encouraged, her eyes focused. Rainpaws eyes widened at his mentors words. These tow-legs were teaching their kits to swim... But they weren't with them... "Why don't the big ones go into the water? What if something happened to their kit?" He whispered, his eyes filled with curiosity. Two-legs were something different, their ways so strange to the ways of Clan cats, and dangerous too. Every time they saw one of the cats, they would run towards it, as if trying to hunt the clan cat, but they weren't very quiet about it.
Shaking his head, the little tom sat up. "Let's not waste our time here. They don't seem to be doing us any harm right now, and I'd like to keep it that way." He mewed, his voice suddenly deeper as though he were trying to act like a full warrior. "We must be on our way. The borders wont check themselves." He mewed, his chest puffed out. Once Littleripple had let out her cry, a little kit had fallen into the world. Her motherly instincts kicking in, Littleripple began to lick the kit clean, allowing Applenose to focus on pushing the rest out. The rain had started to fall, its little droplets clinging to the end of her long fur like some sort of fancy decoration. Was Starclan crying for Applenose during her kitting with out her mate? Once the kit was clean, Littleripple placed the small bundle under the mothers still very swollen belly. It was important that the kit latched and began to feed almost immediately, and thank the stars, it did. In the lull of pushing, Littleripples one remaining kit presented herself. Brindlebriar had heard her call for help. Watching with happy eyes as the queen helped Applenose, Littleripple quietly licked Applenose's flank. She was given a gift when Starclan allowed her to have Brindlebriar as her kit, and the joy of being able to watch her grow to be her own mother to her own kits, made Littleripples heart swell. The older warrior watched as Brindle helped, knowing that it must be hard watching a queen birth healthy kits after the loss of your own, but once again, Brindle proved her mother wrong. She was strong. Reaching a paw out to Applenose once her body quivered again, the orange molly kneaded her shaking body. Acornkit anxiously kneaded the ground in anticipation to their leaders words to Brightkit. once Nightstar told Brightkit that she would have to wait, just like every other kit, a little squeal of happiness escaped her. Before she could say a word to his sister, Rushingkit, she was off to tackle Brightkit and invited her to play. Acornkit pounced over to the two, nipping at Brightkit's legs in play. "We get to become apprentices at the same time!" He mewed, not thinking before he spoke. 'That will be so much fun!" Ashstream sighed. The clan was worried, and rightfully so. Starclan had seemed to be frowning on them since Brindlebriars kitting nearly two moons ago... And yet, nothing had gotten any better. "I just hope that this whole mess is almost over." He grumbeled, licking his paw and drawing it over his ear. "I have not seen any cat do something so wrong that Starclan would punish the whole clan for it..." He mewed, thinking to himself. What in Starclans name could a cat have done for it to cause this much death in their clan? "If someone did something, what do you thin they did?" He mewed, his voice barely above a whisper.
Brightkit whimpered. She didn't want to wait to be an apprentice, she wanted to be one now. "I'm going to be 100 moons old by the time I'm a warrior." She whined to her father, Thistletongue. "That's not fair..." Sitting down with a huff, the little kits colored tail lashed in irritation. Before she could even think to say another word, the little body of Rushingkit slammed into hers, causing her to fall over, her belly exposed. Yelping in surprise, Brightkit flailed, her legs just short of being long enough to swipe her friends ears. Rolling onto Rushingkit's body, the little kit laughed. "You cant beat me! I'm bigger than you!" She giggledher mind distracted from her previous worries, her tail flicking Acornkit in the nose as he tried to nip at her back legs. "Come on!" She called, launching herself off the smaller kit, dashing towards the fresh kill pile to hide from her attackers.

Vixentail {@reedstar } Vixentail let out a small Mrrow. “lucky fur ball” she muttered with a hint of amusement. “Come on let’s continue” she mewed before stalking through the forest, being careful not to step on dead leaves. Let’s hope we can get out of this weather! She thought with a small shiver.
