»Anaris Vass
Reassurance? New. She wasn't used to that. Being scolded that yeah she always the bad princess. A faint pink color crossed the princess's face as he tried to make her feel better about the fact that she was killing plants left and right as she cared for them. How sweet could this boy be? She watched him as he lit up talking about the garden he had back at his home and a small smile formed on her lips.
"Maybe you could bring some life to our gardens." The girl suggested the soft smile still on her lips. He was so excited about flowers she'd love to give him the chance to enjoy himself here. This was going to be his home now, since they were getting married and all that. So she wanted him to like it. Why did she want that?
How did she spend her time? Her eyes turned toward her mother who was engrossed in the conversation with the other Queen, she did catch the eye of his mother for a moment. Her eyes looked down and another smile crossed her face quickly. Her mother wasn't listening so she should get the boy ready to know who he was dealing with. "Well, for starters I love my horse. So I spend a lot of my time down there, taking care of him and riding as far as I can before the sun goes down." She said, her body relaxed a bit, opening up to the guy she was going to marry was a good thing right?
"I 'm generally pretty busy actually, I don't like to sit still really. There is way to much to get done in a day." Anaris took some of the food off her plate pausing, "We have a great training area that its fun to use. And between you and me." Her voice dropped and she leaned toward him, "My mother hates it but I go there and practice my combat skills." The princess whispered and grin crossing her face as she moved away from him. "The whole princess's should sew and things like that isn't my style." She ate some more of her food and glanced at him, not a lot of people knew how to handle the wild princess. Her parents barely knew how to do that they just got mad at her and that only made her want to do the things that bothered them even more. She thought it was funny. "What about you Prince, what do you do for fun?"
»Silas Payne
He watched her as she started to speak with her mouth full. Honestly it took everything in him not to laugh at her very clear forgetfulness. The red color that washed over her face as she realized and very quickly embarrassed herself.
Okay so she was cute. Big deal.
He rest his head in his hand as the girl rattled on about what was fun here. So she had some character even it was this ditsy girl. It was kind of endearing actually. Most of his interest was peaked when she mentioned the library. So she liked gardening, horse back riding and swimming as outdoor things. He could do those things. But the library. So she had a brain at least. At this he leaned forward now she caught his attention. She was so excited about everything she was talking about, it was like watch a little kid tell a tall tale.
Pie? Oh even better.
He was mulling over all of the places the girl had mentioned and the fact the she read books. Most girls he'd met didn't like books. But this girl was reading history books of his kingdom. He liked that a lot actually. He then noticed the girl and her cat was staring at him as if waiting for him to reply. His hand moved to the back of his neck nervously. "Oh, that all sounds like some fun things I'd enjoy doing." He said with a nod as he put more food in his mouth, most of his plate was sweets, save a few veggies. His mother always made him eat those, and it just kind of stuck with him. He laughed a bit at the way she stumbled around with her words trying to make sure she didn't offend him.
"I'd love to see this library you have here. I've read every book in mind so I'd be interesting in finding something new to read." He said assuring her that he knew how to read and actually enjoyed it. He looked at the cat in her lap as she mumbled something, he didn't quite catch it but it was almost like she was talking to the cat. Weird princess. For a moment he was quite and just ate his food. For once a woman had caught his attention, he didn't know what it was but he was drawn to her already. He didn't know how he felt about how interesting this girl was. He didn't even know why she was interesting that was the issue. Maybe it was that she read books. Yeah that was it.
The man raised a brow at her not saying anything for a moment. Trying to think and figure her out but as of yet, he couldn't. "What sort of books do you like to read? Personally anything that can teach me something is often a favorite for me."

Orson
Orson blinked at the blush across her face, eyes widening slightly. The pink looked beautiful beneath her smooth skin, and it was graceful as it spread from the apples of her cheeks, across her nose, down her jaw, into her neck and— he looked away quickly, clearing his throat and praying she didn’t see the flush in his cheeks. Check yourself Orson. She’s a lady after all. Orson bit his lip slightly as he glanced back at her smile, relaxing slightly and smiling back a bit.
At her suggestion, his eyes sparked with excitement and tempered quickly. His eyes softened considerably as he looked at Anaris, genuinely touched at her suggestion to make his life both more similar to home, and give him an opportunity to practice what he loved. He gave a gentle smile, reaching over and tenderly placing his hand over hers. ”I would really, really enjoy that,” He said in a low voice, eyes sparkling. He cleared his throat slightly, quickly moving his hand back, afraid he had over stepped his boundaries as his heart took off again.
Orson nodded as she paused, encouraging her to speak more. Horseback riding: become better. He added to his mental list, head tilting once more as he focused on Anaris. He had been studying her lips as they moved, watching the shape they formed, and he quickly tore his gaze up to her even more mesmerizing eyes, chest burning slightly with heat from her intensity. He listened, nodding and leaning forward slightly, engrossed in their conversation so that he didn’t even notice his mother.
”There’s hardly enough hours in a day,” He agreed quickly as he gave her a smile to encourage her to continue. He listened intently to her, focused and sharp, taking her words very seriously despite the charming smile itching at his lips. He leaned in conspiratorially when she did, trying to ignore the funny fluttering of his heart in response. He smiled down at her, brightly, nodding as his nose scrunched slightly as he gave out a soft giggle, pulling back as well and shaking his head slightly.
”Between you and me, Princess, I rather think a princess should do any skill she would like. If you like combat, I would love to watch you practice sometime. After all, I’m sure you’re very talented,” He schmoozed slightly, but there was a genuine sincerity behind his statement that made it hard to doubt that he actually believed what he said. He returned to his meal, taking a few more bites in silence. He turned his head as she spoke, listening intently once more and hesitating in his chewing. He finished and swallowed as he thought, giving a slight nod.
”Well, besides floristry, I like to read and play piano,” He said with a modest smile, looking away. ”I’m not very good, but I do enjoy it,” He added hastily, praying she wouldn’t ask him to play. It made him incredibly nervous, to play in front of others, and for some reason he desperately wanted to impress her, but simultaneously felt he wasn’t good enough. He swallowed, nervously, reaching for his water once more and glancing away shyly, uncertain of himself now.
Talulla
Talulla found it hard to concentrate as the prince shifted beside her, focusing his attention on her. She wasn’t used to having anyone’s attention for more than a few moments, and the way he was looking at her was unnerving, even if he did have absolutely stunning eyes. She blinked in surprise at herself. Where are these thoughts coming from?
She returned her attention to her plate, ignoring how strong his arm he was leaning against looked or the muscles under the smooth skin. Never before had Talulla been attracted to a man. It frightened her, and even though they were going to be married, she wanted nothing to do with it. So, she kept her attention on her food, eating heartily as she listened. She gave a mere nod in response to his comment, and Dario chirped before settling back on her lap, folding his tail neatly over his paw. He was still staring intently at Silas, but looked more at ease, like he was more curious than aggressive, though there was no doubting the protective warning in his gaze.
”I can show you, after dinner. If you’d like,” She responded, not looking up from her plate of various vegetables and fruits. She had spoken with her mouth full again, earning a disapproving glance from her father, flushing another wave of red down her graceful neck. She brushed a stray strand of hair back from her face, shifting slightly in her seat and reaching across him slightly for a warm roll. She snuck a glance at the prince and his plate full of sweets, and a small smile itched at the corner of her lips, almost as if she were amused by him. At his laugh, a small storm of butterflies rose up in her stomach and she looked away, warmth spreading through her chest. It was a lovely sound, and she rather wanted to hear it again. She blinked, dispelling those thoughts with a faint shake of the head, simultaneously loosing several wispy baby hairs in the process.
She lived a happy life as a vegetarian, strictly vegetables, though she also had a soft spot for sweets, particularly fruity tarts. She also loved lemon bars. That girl would live off lemon bars if she could. However, since she didn’t eat meat, she had to load up on other greens and sources of plant protein to maintain a healthy and balanced diet, leaving little room for copious amounts of sweets. Everything in moderation.
She was intent on her food, so she didn’t answer him at first, save for a small nod to let him know she had heard the question. She took a glass of water, then leaned back, hand coming up to stroke Dario’s head as she thought some more, sipping lightly from her glass a few times while she decided. Her head tilted slightly as she gazed at Silas, though it seemed she weren’t really looking at him at all. Rather, the space just in front of him.
”Books with lessons are interesting, especially historical arcs, but I’m also quite fond of the romantic periods. I love adventurous tales of far off romance and adventure, and find poetry to be a much slower, calming pace when I’m not up for all the excitement of novels,” She finally responded. She met his gaze with another small nod and even smaller smile. Her eyes widened slightly, smile fading as she studied him intensely for a moment. Her eyes searched his face, probing for something, though it was unsure what as a small furrow pulled her thick, dark brows together. She turned her gaze away and down to Dario instead, expression softening at the cat nuzzled her hand, purring faintly at the girl.
”Well, I’m finished, so I’m going to head out to the garden. You can join me whenever you’re done and I’ll show you around, if you want,” She said, gesturing to the well tended path past the courtyard. She gave him a friendly smile as Dario hopped down. She curtseyed to King Nera and Queen Zyre, pecked her father on the cheek, and headed out, leaving behind her mostly finished plate and a breeze that smelled of wildflowers in spring. She disappeared easily into the brush, following the curved pathway deep into the large, expansive garden. Dario padded along eagerly beside her, tail up and ears alert.

»Anaris Vass
As his hand touched hers there was a rush of what felt like electricity throughout her body, Her face turned so much redder than it had been before. If she got any redder she'd probably explode from the heat. The princess let out a small nervous laugh. Anaris didn't mind it in fact she almost wanted to reach out a touch his hand herself but she couldn't bring herself to do it. So she just smiled at the prince who's smile basically melted her heart. She bit her lip a little trying to refocus herself.
She wasn't used to this whole thing, he was so ready to listen to her. It was weird, why he was so nice."Your telling me my day goes by far to fast." The red haired woman giggled a bit, she always felt like her day was over as soon as it started. Her face went from calm to straight shock, he agreed with her? She almost didn't hear what he'd said about what he liked to do, though piano stuck out to her. But her focus was on what he'd just said. No one had been supportive of her choice to do the less lady like things.
For what felt like forever she just sort of sat there staring at him. She cleared her throat a little "Forgive me, I, no one has said that to me before." The girl said softly, still bit shocked that he'd agreed with her fighting. Shaking her head a bit to put her thoughts back on track she looked at him smiling once more, "So reading and piano? We've got a whole room full of instruments actually so help yourself any time. Maybe sometime if, you are comfortable playing in front others you could show me sometime." Anaris ate some of her food, she was hungry but she wasn't going to make a fool of herself especially now. "And uh perhaps since you at least have some idea." She touched one of his medals gently, "Maybe you could join a practice session. It's good to stay on top of things after all." The woman said raising a brow at him for a moment.
Her mother cleared her throat noticing how close the too had gotten, of course they were to be married so it would be fine soon. But the young princess was getting a bit too close for her liking. Didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea. Anaris glanced at her mother and moved to sit back in her seat a bit more her face flushing once more, her ears hot and her eyes cast downward to her plate. Behave Anaris, lady's don't reach out and touch someone they've just met. Ugh come on mom. She could just hear it now. Now thoroughly embarrassed Anaris ate her food on her plate, it wouldn't be long before she'd need to get ready for the ball they were having to not only welcome the Queen and her son but to announce their marriage to the whole kingdom.
»Silas Payne
"I'd like that." The man mused watching her closely. Salis took note of the fact that she hadn't touch any of the meat on the table. A vegetarian. So far she had proved to be nothing but interesting. Well that and a little bit of a mess. He was still eating, his attention had been more on the golden haired beauty before him. Her admissions of enjoying books made her all the more alluring and the way she talked about the ones she enjoyed, she had a brain. Again interesting.
Why was she so beautiful? Shut up idiot.
He sipped his water as what he could only assume were feelings set in. Great. Well, he guessed it was pretty great right? He was supposed to like his wife right? And it seemed like she was going to keep him on his toes. His mind drifted as he got lost in her eyes, she wasn't perfect but if she wasn't as close to it as humanly possible. Again her voice snapped him from his thoughts. She was leaving? What? She was done?
"Oh. uh Yes, I'll join you.." He slowed, she was already up and out of her chair. His eyes again followed her as she basically skipped off leaving the alluring scent of flowers after her "...later." Silas whispered, for a moment he watch her till the freckled princess vanished. She just left. The prince just kind of sat there dumbfounded. Was he going to chase after this girl?
Two bites later and that was a yes. He stood dusting himself off. He bowed and excused himself from the table thanking her father for the food and giving his mothers hand a soft squeeze. He walked briskly off to to the garden, almost running but he wasn't going to do that. Not yet.
The garden came into view and his eyes scanned the area for the the princess. Her could her the sweet sound of her voice, was she talking to someone? Or just to the kitten like earlier. Why was he chasing this girl again?

Orson
Orson blinked as the red flushed across her face. He swallowed, eyes widening slightly as he felt his heart stutter in his chest. He gave a slight, nervous laugh again, looking away politely and set his glass down, taking another bite and chewing slowly to focus his attention elsewhere. Never had he been rendered so flustered at the presence of a person, but then again, he’d never been around a woman so beautiful as Princess Anaris. He swallowed, turning his gaze to her and found her still staring. Concern flitted across his lovely face, head tilting slightly. His eyes held hers, waiting patiently for her to find her voice.
”No one has said that to me before.” Her eyes were wide, surprised, and he couldn’t help but smile warmly at her. ”Well, they must be pretty foolish not to. You’re obviously a very committed young woman, and I’m sure you can handle yourself as you please.” Yes, he was flattering the princess and turning on the charm, but he was sincere. He genuinely believed his compliments, and gosh darn it, Orson was going to make sure she believed them too.
At her request, his eyes widened slightly, looking away embarrassed. Now, it was his turn to be surprised and flustered. ”I mean, I would love to play for you, m’lady,” He finally stammered out, cheeks hot and heart racing for a completely different reason. He never played for anyone back home, save his sickly father, and he wasn’t sure how he would handle having an audience that wasn’t bedridden beyond belief. He swallowed hard, dispelling his thoughts as she leaned forward once more. His gaze followed her hand as she reached forward to mess with his medals. Immediately, heat burst forth in his chest as his eyes widened, the heat spreading from his chest to his cheeks, neck, and ears. He was certain his tanned skin was rather pink in hue for once.
He turned an abashed gaze up to Anaris’s mother when she coughed, looking like a small child that had been caught with their hand in the cookie jar. He glanced down, giving his own nervous cough, shifting uncomfortably in his seat, stealing at glance at Anaris, who was just as red and embarrassed as he. The red nearly matched her hair, and it was lovely to see. He looked away respectfully, focusing on his food, though the butterflies in his stomach had made his appetite all but disappear.
Queen Devika looked between the two and clapped her hands lightly, clearing her throat. ”Well! This has just been absolutely splendid, but I’m afraid Prince Orson and I really need to go refresh ourselves for the ball tonight! Lunch was absolutely delicious, thank you again so very much,” She offered with a gracious smile before getting to her feet. ”Ready my dear?” She asked Orson softly. He exchanged a look as he turned back to Anaris.
”My dear Princess, lunch with you has been wonderful, and I look forward to meeting with you again tonight,” He spoke in a low tone, only to her. His eyes sparkled, and a charming little half smile quirked at his lips. He got to his feet, bowed, and took her hand, placing yet another gentle kiss to her knuckles, eyes catching hers as he did. Then, he released her gently and straightened. He bowed to her parents before heading over to his mother. Offering her his arm, they were led out by staff as he escorted her to her room.
”Thank you, Momma,” He finally murmured after they were well out of earshot of the dining room. His mother gave a light laugh, freehand coming up to pat his arm. ”Ah, my dear little bear, you have a lot to learn,” She responded with another bubble of laughter that rang down the hallway as they ascended to their rooms where their luggage was waiting.
Talulla
Talulla was doing her best to ignore any and all thoughts of the prince she had left at the dinner table. Her heart was racing slightly, her stomach felt queasy, and quite frankly, her palms were a bit sweaty. She had no idea what was happening to her, but she didn't like it. She took a deep breath as she rounded the second bend. Now that she was safely out of view, she kicked her shoes to the side of the trail and hiked up her skirt. She quickly tied it up, keeping herself covered but making a makeshift pair of pantaloons and tying at the waist. She brushed her hair wisps back from her face and, smiling down at Dario, took a deep breath. She stretched up on her toes, stretching her arms all the way up as high as she could. She wiggled her fingers, then let her arms drop rapidly and gave herself a good shake, dispelling all thoughts of the prince from her mind. Nearby, a small vine began to pull its way free from the bush, running along the ground behind her with small, blue flower blooms as she began to move forward.
Yes, Talulla walked barefoot through the garden in a makeshift jumpsuit from her dresses often. The entire staff were quite used to this, and most were used to Talulla disappearing into the garden to talk to seemingly herself for hours. Everyone except the new prince that she didn’t know was behind her in the slightest. She had assumed he would definitely want more time to eat, giving her time to think things through and figure out what was going on with her.
”Come on Dario, I want to check on the plum tree,” She called eagerly to the kitten that scrambled free from the bush he had been investing and darted over excitedly to catch up, meowing loudly. She gave a bright, bubbly laugh, able to fully be herself out here. Away from the prying eyes of the kingdom and random dignitaries. She was safe here, in her garden, and she would honestly spend all her time here if she could. A small sprig of purple wildflowers popped up as she giggled, and she turned, moving deeper into her garden.
Before long, she arrived at the plum tree in question. She wiped her sweaty palms on her makeshift pants-skirt as she gazed at the tree. She tilted her head, moving around and peering up into the thick branches. Then, her eyes lit up. She shifted her wait, sizing up the trunk before she deftly began to climb up into the tree. She pressed her bare feet firmly against the bark, strong hands and arms pulling her upwards. From the small slits in her makeshift pants, her muscular legs were taunt and strong, supporting her as she made her way up. On the branch, she perched light as a bird, figuring out her next move before she continued to make her way up.
Dario gave a frustrated Meow! and chirped, pacing slightly with a flicking tale. Talulla giggled, poking her head free to peer down at him. ”Don’t be silly, I promise you I saw one!” She made no further explanation, so Dario gave a slight growling noise before sitting deftly at the bottom, curling his flicking tail over his paws. His ears flicked slightly as he became aware of footsteps not far off, but he made no move to entertain the stranger he assumed was probably the prince coming to follow them. He chirped, however, in warning, to which Talulla swung her head free, mouth full of fresh plum, gripping a juicy one with one hand and the tree with her other.
”What do you mean we have company?” She called down with her mouth full. She wiped her mouth off on the back of the hand that was gripping the plum, shaking her head at the kitten that had stood up once more. She glanced at the sticky sweet juice as it trailed down her arm. She licked it off with a slight slurp before she returned her gaze to Dario, rolling her warm brown eyes with an unladylike snicker. ”No, he’s still eating. He had a long travel. Besides, he doesn’t like me, so it doesn’t matter. It’s an arranged marriage; there isn’t supposed to be anything romantic about it,” She called down to Dario. The black feline merely sat back down, glancing away disinterestedly. She rolled her eyes again with a soft groan.
”I don’t need the attitude, mister. Anyway, I saw another, so I’m going to get it and then maybe I’ll come down. Stop worrying,” She called down, finding her way back up into the shady branches of the plum tree and out of the glare of the warm sunlight.

[ I absolutely love that. they're all gonna be best friends and I love it
Anaris lacks impulse control because she's busy and determined to do everything and orson loves it and just patiently supports her whereas Talulla doesn't have impulse control because she doesn't think about anything; most of her actions are just "I thought I wanted to, so I did" and Silas is terrified bc she's absolutely fearless. but like later when she and him are like kind of liking each other, she just impulse kisses him and does things like randomly hold his hand or just burst into conversation and he never knows what to expect HEHEHEH ]

He was so supportive already, he knew exactly what to say, even if it was a little too perfect it was just that. Perfect. She couldn't help but swoon over him basically. But of course he mother put an end to the fun and how well she was getting to know him. That woman never let her have any fun. First she wanted her to be nice to the prince and now she was being too nice. Pick one. The princess toyed with her food for a moment avoiding her mothers gaze. She was going to get lectured for playing with his medals she just knew it. She was going to play the mother I really must get ready for the ball tonight. When really she was going to run down and feed her horse because she'd promised him she'd come. And then she'd get ready. It wouldn't take that long. Meari was fast at dressing the red haired and now red faced princess.
She smiled softly, glad he'd started to agree to play for her. As if she could feel the two royal's embarrassment radiating off of them the prince's mother finished her meal and readied to leave. As much as she wanted him to stay and feel his muscular arms she was a bit relieved that her cheeks would have a break from being bright red.
The girl offered the Queen a warm smile as the older woman stood beside the prince. Her parents stood to say their farewells. "It was a pleasure dining with you both. We will have to make a habit of this while you are here." the king said bowing slightly to the both of them.
"Yes, we will see you both at the ball tonight." The Queen said before the both of them once against sat down.
The woman's eyes rested on him once again, my dear princess? She liked the sound of that and the smile that had made it's way to her lips gave that away instantly. "As do I," She paused as he kissed her hand and held eye contact with her. "My prince." It took everything in her to hold the eye contact with him.
As he left she instantly relaxed into her chair, letting out a deep sigh, earning looks from her mother and father. "So. It wasn't so bad meeting your future husband now was it." Her mother said a smug grin on her face. Anaris just rolled her eyes and shook her head.
"Alright so you weren't totally wrong. Maybe it won't be to bad. I mean looking at Daddy I didn't think you'd know how to pick someone pretty!" The princess teased a huge grin plastered on his face. Both his mother and father glared at her and she just laughed.
"Speaking of the attraction between you two, Anaris Vass you need to keep your hands to yourse-" The princess stood up before the woman could finish her sentence.
"Now mother I know. You can lecture me after the ball, I really must be getting ready. We've got nobles to impress tonight." She said smiling at the two, dipping her head and quickly leaving the room giving them no time to react to her. Grabbing her skirt the princess made her way out of the castle and ran across the field to the stables where she was greeted by several horses whinnying as she came in "Hello my beautiful children!" Anaris smiled reaching out and petting each one before reaching her horse. "And you my Adonis." The horse dipped his head down to let the princess hug him close to her. "Look what I've got for you." She held up an apple and several sugar cubes she'd snatched from the table when no one was looking.
About an hour passed and Anaris finally left the stables, she'd have to bathe again or she'd go to the ball smelling like horse. Now that she had found out her future husband was an absolute specimen of human perfect, she had to look and smell perfect. Making her way to her room Meari was waiting for the girl her arms folded over her chest. "Yeah Yeah I know I am a little late but when am I ever on time to get ready." She grinned, this was the reason Meari had told her she needed to be in her room far earlier so the princess would really be on time.
»Silas Payne
This garden was like a maze where on earth had that angel of a woman gone so quickly? At one point he paused looking around for any sign that she'd left behind to lead him to her. Nothing, letting out a sigh he frowned, okay well how did he get out. At least it was pretty, the flowers and everything seemed to just be bursting with life. Even at this time of year everything seemed to be in full bloom. Who ever cared for this place had to be the best of the best. His brow furrowed a bit, the girl had mentioned she cared for the flowers. Was she the reason everything was so beautiful? What did she do to make that happen sing to them?
Then he caught it, the slightest movement of the plants. Moving plants? Wait a minute. No it couldn't be. He wasn't versed in plant magic, but he was sure they didn't move like that on their own. Walking over to the vine that he swore moved Silas touched the vine and his eyes followed where it went, even if it wasn't the princess he was following there was something interesting at the end of this trail.
Flowers? Pretty ones at that, much like the princess. He heard a faint and already familiar giggle. Maybe he was following her. Or she'd just followed the same plants he was going after. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad, a pretty girl and someone who knew magic at least that would keep him busy for most of the days he'd be spending here. So far he only knew three types of magic, Transformation was the first and his worst one actually it was the hardest and you had to remember to so many things to be like the real deal. Second was fire magic, his personal favorite(maybe because he was really good at and really no other reason) was the most wild of the magics he practiced. Last and his most recently learned magic was levitation. It was a hobby he'd picked up, luckily the tall hazel eyed man had a talent for it. Or else his hobby would have been short lived. But, his library at home had nothing on this type of magic, so to find someone who was good at it was something exciting. Maybe they knew more than just that.
A few minutes had passed and he finally got to the end of the trail. A plum tree? Right? No, maybe it was just a regular tree. No no, that is a plum tree you've seen drawings of their leaves. Looking around his eyes fell on the black cat, but the princess was nowhere in sight. "Hello." The man said gently as he moved to sit down in front of the kitten. Silas made sure to give the feline his space, he really didn't feel like getting clawed tonight. His day had been long enough and now here he was in a garden probably lost and now pining after some ditsy princess who liked books and who seemed be easily dragging him along without even really trying. "I don't really know what I'm doing here, and I'm kind of lost. And in all honestly I'm eager to visit that library your princess mentioned. Do you know where she went?" He asked gently. His tone different by miles as he spoke to the cat. He had a feeling he didn't like him but this was also just a cat right?
He looked around there was no trace of the pretty little lady but he couldn't find her. And in honesty and dumb as he felt, maybe the kitten would know crazier things had happened.

[ I actually love them all so much oh my goodness heheheh
Orson being "heck yeah my dear, just remember to smile!" and she's like "only if I want" and he's like "obviously" but she's already smiling they're so in love I'm gonna vomit
I actually love it because she's so chill and relaxed about everything that she'll be unused to someone being like "you can't climb a tree in a tulle skirt dress for a number of reasons" and she's like "Oh?" bc she's already halfway up the tree ]

Orson
Orson couldn’t stop thinking about Anaris’s final words throughout the afternoon. He escorted his mother to her room, planted a sweet kiss on his mother’s cheek, and then made he way down several more hallways to his room. The room was simple, but lavish, with an ornate headboard and deep, wine colored bed sheets. There was a fluffy, white luxurious carpet on the wood floor, and a large mirror with a gold border. There was a balcony that overlooked the far end, showing the rolling hills and the tiny homes of the village at the base of the kingdom. It was, really, quite lovely.
He made his way into the bathroom where the large clawfoot bathtub gleamed. It was lovely and fresh, and a sharp clearing of the throat next to him nearly sent the Prince tumbling into the empty water. ”Your Highness! I did not mean to startle you,” The servant apologized profusely, bowing his head in apology after steadying Orson. The prince gave a hearty laugh, shaking his hand and putting a warm, gentle hand on the man’s shoulder.
”No, it’s alright. I was just distracted. Are you here to help me?” He asked, eyes warm and radiant smile exposed once more. The servant gave a shy nod and they set about. The servant drew him a long, lavender bath, which the prince gratefully buried into. My prince, my prince. She called me her prince. HIs mind repeated her words over and over as he soaked away all the dirt and stress of traveling. He wrapped himself in a robe as he emerged, following his servant to the different suits he had laid out. Orson mulled over them, trying to guess what his lady would be wearing for the evening.
Of course, attempting to match with the princess was foolish as she would no doubt outshine him with a mere flutter of her long lashes. Not that he would mind, considering that he would gladly be swept into a whirlwind by her lovely lashes that draped so elegantly over her radiant and bright pink cheeks. He blinked, focusing his attention on the suits before him once more before settling on a rich, velvet emerald green one. The suit was tailored, with a black undershirt and gold trim on the jacket with gold cuffs. He looked dashing and stunning. His servant coiled his hair, plucked his brows, trimmed his beard, and polished his nails.
He looked over himself in the mirror. He straightened slightly, remembering how she had gracefully tinkered with his medals, the sweet smile on her lips. He half hoped she would fiddle with his collar as they danced—they were going to dance. His dark eyes widened slightly as he realized that he was going to not only have to escort the Princess around and answer millions of silly questions, but that he was also going to be dancing with the gorgeous, beautiful lady. My princess…she’ll be dancing with you, ‘my prince’. He gave a soft, reassuring smile to himself before heading out, following the servant down to the ballroom where he would be introduced as the groom to be. I just hope they like me…no, I hope she likes me.
Talulla
Talulla had climbed fairly high up when she became aware of footsteps not too far off. Her eyes widened in surprise as her heart rate picked up slightly, and she clung tightly to the tree, peeking down. She bit into her plum and spotted a fancy, familiar pair of shoes standing nearby a way too smug Dario. She glared down that the cat who stared at her with a half-lidded expression of pure pride. She positively glowered at the small thing who chirped in amusement back. She sighed softly. She didn’t want to go down and face this confusing, and frankly a bit annoying, man.
But then he spoke. ”Hello.” She blinked in surprise, turning her head down with curiosity. Could he see her? She was about to call back when Dario tilted his head with aloof disinterest to the man, letting her know she was hidden. She suppressed a giggle at the snarky, smug kitten. Dario stared intensely at Silas as he spoke. She waited, listening to him speak. Her expression sobered as she studied the man sitting by her beloved companion. Yes, he was handsome, but he was smart, and she had yet to see him be anything but guarded and haughty.
But, the way he was speaking to Dario was doing funny things to her heart. His tone was soft and playful, and looked rather gentle and approachable down there. She swayed slightly, stiffening as the branch bent slightly beneath her, snapping her from her slowly wandering thoughts. She needed to figure her next move out fast. So, gripping her partially eaten plum gently between her teeth, she reached up and pulled forth the only other ripe plum, tucking it into the gap where her dress overlapped in the tied form. With a quick 3-step movement, she one-handedly swung down in three quick strokes. She came to drop directly in front of the prince with a low thud, ankles absorbing her impact under her strong, secure legs. She had only barely broken into the skin where the plum was lodged between her teeth. She pulled the half eaten one from her lips with her free hand, giving him a surprisingly charming smile.
”Hello,” She greeted back, staring for a moment. She herself looked wild, with a few twigs and leaves stuck to her dress (in the tulle fabric that was tied up haphazardly) and in her hair. Her cheeks were flushed, and her braid was loose, one arm sticky with plum juice and a bit of grime clinging to it. Honestly, the princess looked a bit feral. She held up the other plum, making sure he saw it before tossing it gently to him. ”I hope you like plums.” She gave a slight snort as Dario darted over to her, rubbing against her leg. She stood there awkwardly for a moment, taking another bite from her plum. She stared at Silas with that same expression from before, searching his gaze once more for a long moment before extending her hand to pull the man up from the ground.
Her grip was soft, though strong, her hands slightly dirty from her climb in the trees. Her surprisingly muscular arms pulled the man to his feet with ease. She gave a soft chirp and faint, tight lipped smiled before taking another bite. She turned on her heel and began walking, Dario faithfully at her heel. She paused, turning to glance back.
”Do you want to see the library or not?” She called back, mouth full of sweet plum before turning and moving ahead, small daisies springing up in her footsteps. She didn’t seem to notice, moving quickly and silently without a second glance back. Dario trotted along happily beside her once more as she continued munching on her fruit, leading the way from the winding garden, only pausing to retrieve her heels from where she’d kicked them into the brush. She said nothing, nor even sparing him a glance, leading him out and down the side of the castle, bare feet moving easily over the uneven (though familiar) terrain towards the kitchen.
There was no way in hell she was going to risk running into their parents like this, knowing her father would probably have an aneurysm at her appearance and his parents would most likely assume something far more inappropriate than anything that would actually happen. Entering through the kitchen was their safest (and only) option, especially considering the kitchen staff was fairly used to her arriving like this on an almost daily basis.

»Anaris Vass
The water was still warm, she knew it, sneaky Maeri telling her a different time, she knew her too well. Settling into the warm water she let out a sigh the tub was filled with petals that washed away the strong scent of the stables that hung on in her hair . As if the old woman knew the girl was thinking about her hair water poured over her and fingers worked scrubbing the dirt out of her hair quickly. "Maeri!" The girl squealed as the cold water rushed over her.
"You know cold water is better for your hair m'lady." She said as the redhead turned to look at her pretending to be mad. Anaris couldn't keep that up and instead she just laughed.
"Yeah right that is why." She shook her head and then more cold water was poured on her to wash the soap out, causing a big grin from the woman followed by a fit a giggled as the princess splashed water at her.
Once she was clean the girl dried off and wrapped herself in the deep purple robe walking out to pick her dress. Studying them for a moment she choose the deep green dress, it was off the shoulder and made of what looked like satin or silk. The skirt went all the way to the floor and the sleeves were almost as long but stopped just below her elbows showing the bottom half of her arms. There was gold detailing on her bodice, pretty flowers and swirls in gold. It was laced up the back and it took Maeri a good ten minutes to get the thing laces properly. Then it was on to her hair, her long curls were mostly tamed in braids, a thin layer being left down, because she'd be dammed if all her hair would be neatly in place.
The king and queen already were already in the ballroom and plenty of guests had already arrived and were mingling just waiting for the betrothed to arrive and begin the ball. They smiled at the prince as he entered the room and his name was announced. This of course meant most eyes turned to him for a moment to see just who this prince was. The princess made her way down the hall the older woman holding her dress, as usual she was probably the last to arrive and didn't mind.
Her name rang out into the hall and Anaris waited for the door to open before she stepped into the huge room filled with people from her kingdom. Right away her eyes landed on her mother and father, her mother looked radiant, a beautiful and tasteful gold dress. Her fathers suit match hers perfectly, the same design and everything. Of course Ana knew this was planned, they almost always matched at events like this. Then her gaze found him and she stopped in her tracks. She didn't think it was possible but he had managed to become more memorizing. For again what felt like forever she wasn't able to move she did nothing but just stare at him. They wore the same colors unplanned at that.
Her breath caught in her chest, he looked beyond words, there was just nothing that she was able to even think of her mind went blank at a loss for words.
»Silas Payne
The prince fell back and almost yelped in surprise as the princess dropped down in front of him. Where had she come from?! His gaze looked up to the tree, a broke bit gave way that she had indeed been in the tree. His cheeks flushed slightly, that meant she'd heard him talking to the car. Silas cleared his throat trying to cover the fact that he'd scared him.
"Hi." He said softly looking up at her from where he sat. As the round fruit traveled toward him his hand moved catching it with ease. "I knew it was a plum tree." The tanned man looked at her hand that was held out to help him up. Such a weird girl. Giving her the same look she was giving him, one of questioning he took her hand and very quickly shock took over the confusion. Smart and strong enough to help him up without any kind of struggle. "Thanks. Yeah I like plums." He said awkwardly, as he dusted himself off with his non plum holding hand.
Again he was just sort of dumbfounded. How did she get in that tree. There was no way she climbed up it, but the way her skirt was tied up and her hair an absolute mess said otherwise. He hadn't even noticed she'd started to walk away. "Oh! Uh Yes. The library. That is why I'm here." Not because he wanted to see her pretty doe eyes again. No not that at all.
Following after her like a lost puppy he took a bite of the plum. What an odd woman, it was clear he had no idea what he'd be getting himself into with this girl, he did know what ever it was; was going to be a huge mess. But he was along for whatever crazy carriage ride she was taking. He happened to glance down seeing the flowers that were behind the princess. Were those always there? Silas studied her feet for a minute, the flowers were coming from her.
THE FLOWERS WERE WHAT?
There was no way this absent-minded speckled angel of a woman was versed in plant magic. And well enough to not need to use any word or spell books of any kind. It was like she didn't even notice. Did he ask her? Maybe not, she seemed to be in her own little world as the avoided the main entrance and with good reason, she wasn't even wearing shoes. He knew his parents would absolutely flip and think he'd done some womanizing in the garden. At this point though, he'd follow her where ever, she'd caught his eye and his interest. A princess who knew magic and read books was his kind of girl. If he was being honest the oddities that were Princess Talulla, were actually pretty cute, he couldn't even picture her climbing up the tree she'd been in previously. Now running through the garden with her shoes off, that wasn't a surprise to him in the least.

[ they're so sweet and cute oh my god <3 orson knows full well and takes full advantage of that whenever he can because he loves seeing her precious smile
salis just finding her literally in random places all the time; half his fun is just guess where she's hiding or reading. xD she's like "oh I don't know, I wanted to. Ask Dario" and she just returns to her book while Dario purrs smugly at him from the base of the statue knowing full well he can't understand him. Lulu is like "Dario that's too far" which earns a surprisingly annoyed look from the kitten that merely ignores him instead hehehe him trying to get her down from literally anywhere is also a gigantic nightmare cx ]

Orson
Orson followed the young servant boy quickly down the hallway, heart pounding slightly faster in his chest. He was eager to see the princess, certain she was going to blow them all away, but felt the wave of anxiety crash over him. He was not a huge fan of large groups of strangers, and tonight was quite probably the closest thing to his worst nightmare, save for the sweet glow of the princess that would wash everything else away. Here he was in a foreign land, in a room full of strangers, wearing clothes someone else chose for him, and he was expected to not only look the part but also play the part of perfect, doting groom to be happy to trail the princess all night and answer all the strangers’ questions about them and their unknown future.
Which was all fine and dandy, especially considering they were still strangers themselves. You don’t even know her favorite color. He distracted himself by thinking fondly of the redhead and her stunning, green dress she had worn earlier. Maybe, though Orson would be way too flustered to admit it, her dress had influenced his suit selection quite a bit. Green definitely suited the young princess, so he could only hope that he looked even a little bit like the girl he already couldn't stop thinking about.
Orson shook his head lightly to dispel his thoughts as he drew to a halt outside the ballroom. His dark, earthy eyes flashed uncertainly as he came to a halt, awaiting his entrance announcement. Honestly, I don’t understand the point of this. Everyone’s just going to look at me! I’m not even the star here. He took a deep breath, keeping his eyes focused on the door and taking deep breaths to keep himself relaxed and at ease while he awaited the herald’s sweet voice to pull him into the room.
”Now announcing his majesty, Prince Orson of Sollemnia!” Orson swallowed and straightened to his fullest height, pulling his shoulders back. He strode through the ornate doors, head held high and a small, handsome smile on his lips. He made his way over to where Queen Devika stood beside Anaris’ parents. He gave a deep bow to them. After they bowed back, he turned and waved at the crowd. Already, his ears were burning as the chatter began in hushed, flurried tones. Many young women were already eyeing him, flapping their fans and snarking hurriedly behind the lavish designs about him and exactly what they thought of him.
Orson awaited Anaris anxiously, eyes glued to the door, unfazed by any of the talk about him making its rounds through the room. His mother chattered with the other dignitaries, laughing and prattling on over the music, but he couldn’t be bothered to pretend. Though there were many beautiful women staring at him from literally every angle, donned in their most exquisite and lavish of party wear, Orson could only think of his sweet princess. He wanted her by his side to (easily) steal the show and let him just adore from the sidelines.
When her name rang out, Orson straightened, a genuine, soft smile itching at the corner of his lips, eyes trained intently at the entrance. Despite his patient waiting, nothing could have prepared him for this. His breath caught in his chest as she entered, eyes glued to her as his smile faded, stricken sober by her beauty. His eyes glittered with adoration, heart swelling and taking off, thundering down the track to his stomach where it disrupted all the butterflies and sent them flurrying to his brain. It completely dispelled any and all thoughts, leaving him slightly breathless and a little light headed. I think I might faint.
Anaris was radiant in her dress; it hugged her curves perfectly and the green—yes, green!—dress, the gold detail hugging to her bodice and giving way to her amazing figure. Her hair was like a gentle flame, burning in graceful tumbles down her back, her cheeks warm and nearly the same tasteful shade. He stared as she finally caught his gaze, and then they were both frozen in this moment. Time could have dragged on for eternity, just the two of them staring at each other, and Orson wouldn’t complain.
But then, a sharp, prodding pain found its way into his side. Orson blinked, dragging his gazed to where his mother was poking him, pushing him towards her with a smile and an encouraging wink. Orson’s gaze snapped back to Anaris almost hungrily as he, a bit too quickly, made his way over to her. He bent his head forward, tenderly taking her hand in his. With a low bow, his lips found her knuckles once more, though his eyes held hers in a silent staring contest. He straightened slightly, warm hand still securely around hers as he gazed down at her, mind absolute putty.
How on earth am I going to live up to her standards?!How can I possibly bring her honor and joy?
Talulla
Talulla said nothing as they made their way back to the castle. The lanky girl moved quickly, tossing her pit off to the side. She darted down, pausing to finally glance back at him. She held a finger to her lips as they crept along the bustling walls. She rapped her knuckles on the door and promptly a short, stout woman opened the door. She looked the pair up and down, eyes narrowing as she crossed her arms, lips pressed into a thin, upset line. Talulla groaned.
”Please Bernice, I don’t want to talk to my father. I’m trying to show him the library, and we were just picking plums from the garden, but you know my dad,” She pleaded with the woman. The servant made no move, firmly blocking them. Talulla sighed, poking out her bottom lip slightly in a faint pout. The two women stared at each other as Dario helpfully rubbed against Bernice’s legs with a warm purr. After a long moment staring down the girl, Bernice gave in with a loud sigh. Talulla gave a bright chirp of joy as she leaned forward, pecking the woman on the cheek. ”Oh Bernice, you’re an angel! The pies already smell delicious,” She sang to the woman as she darted past. She wove through the kitchen, snatching a banana as she went, devouring it and greeting many of the staff that all spoke to her warmly, although a bit exasperated.
So, the entire staff loved her too.
She made her way up the stairs, leaving her shoes at the end for the handmaids to add to return when they got a chance. She led Silas through the winding hallways with Dario at her feet, swinging her arms freely by her side and humming as she went. She said nothing to him, practically skipping as she bounced along the halls in a slightly zig zag pattern. She gazed up and down at the tapestries, pausing only once to pull a loose string off one before continuing. She finally came to a stop in front of an ornate set of doors. Dark mahogany with lavish, golden handles and deep carvings of vines along them. She turned to face Silas with a grin.
”Are you ready to see the coolest part of the whole castle?” She beamed. She looked a little foolish, standing there with twigs and leaves in her head (a particularly large one drooping foolishly over), but she was beaming excitedly at him, eyes glittering warmly. She was practically glowing, sunlight from the windows catching hold of her wisps of hair and practically framing her face in a large halo around her head. Dario mewled from the ground and she gave a nervous giggle, shaking her head slightly.
”You’re right. Alright, here we go!” She pulled the doors open with ease (and flourish). She led him in to the most lavish and gorgeous library one could dream of (Seriously, think Beauty and the Beast but better, somehow). Floor to ceiling bookshelves lined the room that was lit warmly with natural light pouring from the windows. There was ample, cozy furniture seating, and it was carpeted entirely to keep the sound muffled and with the reverence. The room smelt of ancient paper and ink, and hundreds of books were stacked high on the side tables and even on the floor, despite the ample shelving. Talulla seemed almost as relaxed here as she had in the garden.
”What do you think?” She asked, turning to him with a small smile, eyes warm and bright as they fell on him, waiting excitedly.

Gods she'd never been so awe stuck in her life. The man before her was the pinnacle of perfection, the dimples that made their home just beside the corners of his lips were enough to make her knees weak. Still in the doorway the princess didn't move, honestly she couldn't suddenly the room that she was so used to be full of people judging her was that much more intimidating. Or was it him that caused the slight feeling of panic in her chest. Was that panic? She really couldn't tell.
The flush of color was almost instant as their eyes met and she watched his smile fade away. He looked shocked and she couldn't help but smile, they'd only known each other for a little over a few hours since his arrival but he already made the princess more nervous than any man had ever. At the same time looking at him made the world around them fade, it felt like for a few moments it was just them there. The color green on his suit was a beautiful color on him, it really complimented his skin ton. It really just complimented everything. It fit him perfectly, like it had been made for him.
Her eyes never left his, it was as if time had stopped for them. Even the ballroom was hushed as the two stood there just staring at each other. If this was going to be how she felt for the rest of her life, she was the luckiest woman in the room. Anaris was still shocked by the support of her, unladylike hobbies, she was going to have to continue to play the part for the night of course. There were plenty of nobles here tonight, most people here were big names and big supporters of the crown. Which soon would be their's to share. The dream of just the two of them soon came tumbling back down to reality as he came forward very quickly in front of the princess. As his hand took her's she could feel her own nervous warmth and that just made her more nervous. She curtsied as he bowed, just as he did her eyes never left his and as the two of them stood back up she smiled softly, her hand delicately placed in his.
The king lifted his arms a big grin on the mans face. "Well, now that our persons of honor to the evening let the ball commence!" As if that was what everyone had been waiting for the hum of the room picked up and music in the background played. Anaris took a deep breath, preparing herself for everything that was about to happen. All the questions they would be ask, all the acting right she'd need to do. Her mother would be on her like a hawk all night, and she wasn't the only one who'd be watching the two. Pretty much anyone who was there was going to be doing that.
»Silas Payne
Confused was the only way he could describe the way this woman made him feel, maybe flustered was a good word too, he didn't really know at this point. But he couldn't help but trail after her though. He had to figure her out. That was the only reason, he wasn't going to keep telling himself that till it was true. Once they'd finally made it to a door the aroma of pies filled the air. The kitchen. How exciting.
His eyes watched the older woman who blocked their path inside the castle. Obviously this was something the girl did often. So she just generally wasn't a lady in the common sense of the word at all. He didn't mind that too much, although the twigs in her hair was a bit amusing. Not that he was going to say that. His father would disown him. Silas just stood behind the princess, his hand on the back of his neck, nervously. He'd finished his plum shortly before arriving and as the princess did he tossed it on the floor outside the castle.
The warmth that welcomed the girl and in association him was so friendly and the air filled with pie was enough to make the prince want to drool. He wasn't surprised that the staff liked the blonde who was now bouncing around the halls. It was hard not to, even if she wasn't this free spirit she was soft like the petals of a rose. That was exactly what the princess was like, a flower, beautiful, soft, intoxicating.
Shaking his head a bit at the last one he changed his mind, infuriating was more like it. In a good way he guessed. Looking around the halls he took note of all the different things, everything was so beautifully made, they didn't have tapestries that large were he was from. How long did something like that take to make? Too long for him to stay interested for long. His intense stare returned to the girl who like a child fluttered from one side to the other without a care in the world. Why was this the girl his brain chose to find interesting? He didn't understand it.
The doors already impressed the brunette prince, they must have take months to make. It wasn't like wood carving was easy or anything. Who had they hired to make sure fancy doors? Where could he learn to do something like that? Well they were at the right place to get his start at least. Managing to keep his composure despite his extreme excitement for all the new books. His eyes turned to Talluah and he coughed choking on his own breath. The way the sunlight bounced off of her was sublime. Even with her hair a mess and her dress turned into some kind of pants she was prettier than any of the flowers he'd seen outside. She took his breath away quite literally as he struggled for a minute to stop coughing.
Straightening up he cleared his throat and nodded, he was ready to see it. As she opened the door his jaw dropped. He'd never seen so many books in one place before. His eyes lit up much like hers did when she got excited about something. The prince stepped into the library and she familiar air of old books, a little bit of dust and ink welcomed him with open arms. "Amazing." He breathed standing in the middle of the room and turning to look at each part. "This is your library? Its like a whole building on its own. It'll take me years to read every book in here." The prince said just awestruck by the amount, he couldn't even think to count how many there were. "I might not ever leave this room." He joked, of course there was some truth to that. Even at home the library was his place to retreat to and never leave.
He moved toward a book left out on the table, "Is this the one you were reading on my kingdom's history?" He asked picking it up and thumbing through the pages for a moment. This looked like the right book at least.

[ hiiii sorry! I'm back; I was busy yesterday. Responding now! : )
edit;; honestly Silas trying to get Talulla down by climbing to her is unnerving enough to get her scrambling down and away from him bc he managed to get her one time and carried her down and the close proximity did funny things to her head and heart and she avoids it as much as possible, which means Silas is always trying to be physically affectionate with the shy and flustered girl AAHHAH ]

Orson
Orson wondered anxiously if she was feeling a fraction of what he was. His emotions swirled around him in an unfamiliar sea, and he felt a bit like a sailor adrift outside the boat. But her hand in his was like a small anchor, giving him a place to root and focus: she was his safe point. Already, he knew that it would always be like this, for him at least.
He continued to stare until the king interrupted his whirlwind of thoughts with his loud announcement. He dragged his gaze from Anaris to the king just to acknowledge the cheerful command before flicking it back to hers with a gentle smile and tiny nod, as if encouraging her. Really, he was just working up the brain cell power to form a coherent sentence. The music kicked up around them as people began to mingle once more, and he breathed a slight sigh of relief, not moving at all from her.
”You look radiant, Princess,” He finally managed, voice low and reverent. He bent down slightly to speak only to her, keeping their conversation to themselves as he ignored the feeling of eyes boring holes into his head from all around. ”It seems we both had a feel for green, though you are far more beautiful than I could hope to be,” He flattered, voice smooth and warm. He felt a bit silly, being so bold as to compliment her so strongly, but he meant every word.
”Anyway, would you care to dance a little before we have to answer a million questions? It’s no sparring ring, but footwork is just as important,” He teased gently, eyes glittering with faint mischief as he pulled her slightly closer to him, holding her hands close enough that she could feel the heat from his chest. He inhaled her sweet, perfumed scent from the bathwater, and he was pretty sure it had him a little intoxicated as his head felt slightly groggy.
Come on Orson, snap out of it! Focus on Ana; that’s all you need.
Talulla
Talulla froze, eyes filled with concern as Silas began choking before her. She was paralyzed, unsure how to help. She had no water, and he had finished his plum ages ago, so she didn't know what he could be choking on. She had no idea why she was suddenly gripped with panic and worry for the tall, dark man. She blinked as he caught his breath, turning away to hide the heat (and relief) rising in her cheeks in a rosy hue. She stared at the ornate doors fondly, shoulder relaxing lightly, remembering when she and her father had begun this library many, many years ago.
She felt strangely nervous as she hesitated before the doors, hands wrapped around the cool metal of the handles. Why does it matter if he likes this? What does his opinion matter? She blinked, stirred by Dario pushing against her with a meow! She looked down with a smile. The little guy was right: her library was something to behold, regardless of adoration. She pushed the doors open and lead him in, moving to the side and letting him into her safe space freely. Considering he had rudely intruded on her other sanctuary earlier, she couldn’t understand why she would share her one other space with him.
But, then again, Talulla didn’t really understand any thing surrounding the stranger beside her.
She turned to watch him, leaning against a bookshelf as she crossed her arms, studying him with that unreadable expression again. She watched the genuine joy in his eyes flash as he spun around the room, and her face softened, a small smile quirking at the corner of her lips. She straightened slightly, a bit prideful at his incredulity in his tone. My library. He thinks my library is amazing. The way he said it held reverence in his tone and filled her chest with a newfound heat of pride. She canted her head slightly to the right, eyes glittering with amusement at his reaction, giving a small, encouraging nod when he hesitated before moving further in.
”I would certainly hope so. It’s taken nearly my whole life to create, and I would hate for you to be bored of it in a week,” She murmured, voice soft and slightly uncertain. Her amusement faded as she straightened a bit at the realization that he quite literally would be spending years in here. With her. He’s going to marry you and your library. You’ll have to share your library and your garden with this pompous, though handsome, man. A small furrow began to nestle between her dark brows as she glanced away, pushing herself up on her feet once more. She looked for Dario, but the small kitten had made himself scarce, leaving her alone to host a stranger in her sanctuary. Jerk!
”Hmm?” She blinked at his question, disturbed from her train of thought spiraling downwards. She turned her gaze to him, eyes focusing slightly as she processed his question. Her gaze went from his face to the book and she drew closer, deliberately taking it from him with a small though obvious glare. ”Yes, and you’re disturbing my bookmark. I don’t like to loose my page,” She warned, eyes flashing darker slightly as she adjusted the marked page, setting the book down gently back on the small stack of books it had been seated on.
”Anyway, this is the pile I’m currently working on. It’s mainly old lore and history of our kingdoms, so when I’m done you can have at it, if you want. But otherwise, you can start wherever. I have all kinds of books in here,” She murmured, voice softening with fondness in time with her expression. She ran her hand lovingly over the spines, fingers trailing on the ancient leather with a tenderness that was unfamiliar to most who knew the rough and tumble girl. She stole a glance at Silas, eyes flashing with a slight fear in them as she glanced away. She cleared her throat, shifting to face him, straightening and crossing her arms.
”Okay, a few rules about my library. Firstly, don’t mess with whatever I’m reading. I keep my current rotation here. Second, respect the library. I spend a lot of time organizing and keeping things neat. Leave it better than you found it. Thirdly, if you find my diary, it was planted by Dario and I will cut off your left pinky toe if you read it,” She was deadly serious as she spoke, eyes on his with a genuine severity that had yet to be expressed. At the last sentence, she paused, amusement breaking her sharp, warning exterior as a smile flitted across her features and sparked mischief in her deep, brown gaze.
”That last one was funny because I haven’t keep a diary since the last time that happened,” She continued in her dry prattle, barely giving him time to process her jokes. She was nervous, and it threw off her comedic timing deeply. ”Anyway, lastly, you cannot bring anyone else here. I’m serious. This and the garden are sacred. Sacred. It’s a big kingdom, so you can find other party spots for you and your friends,” She finished, humor gone with a stone-cold wave of protective energy over the girl’s freckled face. She was still, and it was easy to see why so many respected her determined nature.
There was definitely more beneath the surface of this distracted girl.
She blinked, waiting, eyebrows raising slightly with an unasked question. She looked a bit humorous, despite her focus, the twigs still drooping from her hair as she fought to keep her gaze on his. It was unnerving, and the butterflies made it hard to do so, but she was serious about her space, and he needed to understand upfront if anything was going to work between them, friendship or otherwise.

[ things not to think about: Silas making flower crowns for Talulla. them going on reading dates in the garden. Her laying her head in his lap. him being distracted instead with braiding flowers into her hair. her being distracted with a nap. oh my god. I'm so soft.
other things not to think about: orson writing music about Anaris. beautiful, complex, breathtaking works of genius. orson only playing for her, but she can't look at him while he does it or he looses focus. he looses focus often. ana having a special broadsword crafted for him with ornate gilding, pure metal, and exquisite yet subtle jewels she hand picked and designed. them subconsciously coordinating outfits without too much work, so in sync. I need to stop. ]

I LOVE THAT. Her being so gentle and he actually adores her playing with his hair but he would never admit that out loud. She is very odd and strange with her physical affections like very randomly just extra affectionate some days but other days is like completely ice cold. it's funny tho bc Silas will just initiate and regardless she's like "oh this is happening ok?" ahahah ANA MAKING A SWORD FOR ORSON IS THE HERO 2020 NEEDS AND DESERVES
no worries hehe I've been very busy and have a headache rn so I'm not in a ~writing mood~ per se ]
