Squirrelstar With Canarypaw, Paleslip, Sharppaw, and Cloudstar Stream She had remained silent the whole way there, focusing on the path ahead. The shaggy molly knew that her clanmates must be questioning her now but it was all part of her plan. It wasn't that she didn't want to tell them, it was the fact they were all very bad at faking it, at least in her eyes. If Canarypaw knew that she thought they could take on the other clans, he would most certainly blab. So would the rest of them, pride runs deep in her clan. She wasn't ashamed that it did, in fact the opposite. She loved the fact they would die in the name of SkyClan. Not that I wouldn't, I have eight lives left to spare for them. The only issue is that pride overshadows the bigger picture for everyone.
She had been so lost in her thoughts she almost didn't notice a blur of lilac fur across the water. She rose her tail to stop the cats around her, cocking her head to the side. A strong scent wafted from where the other leader was, she was messing with some plant that Squirrelstar couldn't identify. Was she really out by herself? That didn't seem very safe but then again, what did Cloudstar have to fear? She was of one of the more peaceful clans, an attack on her would rage a war with not only RiverClan but any other clan who liked her. Squirrelstar watched her for a few more moments before finally calling out.
"Uh Cloudstar, what are you looking for? Do you need help? That herb smells rather foul, like catmint that has gone off. I can come over and remove it for you." Feathertalon Sand kiwi cheesecake ♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥

Cloudstar » The river's water drying up wasn't the only thing Cloudstar was worried about. With the land withering away in the grip of the heat, the lilac molly knew it was only a matter of time before the reeds and grasses within her territory started dying. It was worrisome to her, especially when she knew how important some of the plants were. But there was one plant in particular that held Cloudstar's concern, and nothing was going to stop the leader from checking in on it.
She had left the RiverClan camp on her own, not wanting to take any cats with her for this solo mission. She had it in her mind to return to camp before it got too late and scout out Mistypaw for some training, perhaps get her accustomed to the basics of swimming like she had promised after what had transpired the other day. She did feel a bit bad for not starting her apprentice's training early this morning, but when the leader's mind was on her little garden, there was nothing more she could focus on until she was satisfied that her plants were okay.
The all too familiar scent of the mint drifted into the molly's nostrils as she approached. A purr rumbled in the back of her throat, only growing louder when the herbs came into sight. As she neared she lowered her body down to the ground only to plop right over onto her side, lithe body landing right atop the little patch of herbs. Cloudstar rolled around for a few moments, leaf particles clinging to her fur and getting caught up in-between her whiskers. Any cat to find her right now would be greeted by a very messy looking Cloudstar, though despite that it was clear that she was rather blissful and content with everything going on around her right now.
The itch of a voice drifting to her ears was almost ignored by the leader, but something in the back of her mind, perhaps the last shred of a brain cell she had at the moment, told her to address the voice. Cloudstar lazily blinked as she rolled over onto her stomach, looking out, dazed, to where the voice had come from.
It took at least a minute for the surprise to register on the molly's face, and then another minute for her to realize who was at her border. "Squirrelstar?" Even her voice was slow and dazed. "Welcome, welcome," she purred, gesturing with her feathery tail for the torbie and her patrol to join her. "You need not to worry, I'm completely fine where I am. What brings you to this side of the river?" She then questioned with a tip of her head, dazed gaze never once leaving the other leader.

border interaction with graypaw- antlerpaw starter for dαιѕyNothing was more satisfying to Antlerpaw than being out on their own. There was something so calming about watching the gentle stillness of morning in the forest, hearing the rustle of birds in the trees. And- best of all- they did not have to constantly speak or pay attention. Their mind could wander out here, free from the rest of RiverClan's eyes boring into their skull, constantly asking them questions their mind could not answer. They caught sight of a pale-furred stoat, perched on the riverbank, and hunched down. It was taking a drink from the water, and its back was turned to them. The perfect chance... But just as Antlerpaw leapt, the ermine turned its long neck towards them and darted off. Antlerpaw gave chase- slinking through the foliage, the wet ground giving slightly under them and dirtying their paws. The river beside them dared them with its coursing sound, and so did the stoat, almost seeming to dance as Antlerpaw came ever closer. Faster and faster the paws went, and Antlerpaw's mind became so enveloped in the rhythm that they only sunk back into consciousness when the ermine was in their jaws, its last breath escaping it. Antlerpaw took a moment to look over the specimen- in death, its head was tilted an odd way, and it looked awkwardly graceful in the way a gosling in late summer is awkwardly graceful. Antlerpaw almost felt sorry for the creature, but the sentiment disappeared as soon as it had came over them. They looked forward. The ThunderClan border was a near few inches away. That was a close one, they thought as they picked up the stoat. But just as they were about to step away, they heard rustling behind them.

g r a y p a w at RiverClan border with Antlerpaw Graypaw hadn't realized she'd run as far as she had, her tiny paws beginning to ache as she trotted along the overgrown forest paths. Cougartalon had offered to take her out training, but she was too unfamiliar with the tomcat to agree to his offer. Besides, she could explore ThunderClan territory on her own. She'd been out here before, just not enough to actually memorize it. That was her task today, to memorize the territory. If I come back and can tell Leaftumble where everything is, she'll be so impressed! She won't- Huh? What was that? The sound of leaves brushing against fur made the young apprentice's thoughts scatter. She angled her ears forward and pushed through the foliage, unaware how close she was to the border. The RiverClan scent markers hit her like a ton of bricks as she almost fell paws-first into the stream that divided the two clans, squealing as she did so. Her fluffy, stumped tail wagged to and fro rapidly, as if she were trying to shake something off her tail. Ears flattening she came face to face with Antlerpaw, freezing in her spot. The she-cat had been an apprentice for a mere half moon, obviously not prepared for a fight. She bristled up her fur, still a bit fluffy as she grew into her adult coat, blue eyes wide. "What are you doing?" she blurted out in her small voice, seeing that Antlerpaw had caught an animal she'd never seen before. She glanced around, searching for a patrol, but it seemed they'd already passed through here by the scent markers. "Are you with a patrol?!" she spat suddenly, a fearful expression prominent on her face.

antlerpaw- dαιѕy Antlerpaw jumped back startled when he saw the apprentice bound towards him. Hark- a ThunderClanner! They quickly regained their cool, however- at least, quicker than the other apprentice had. "This is- this is, uh, a stoat," they said nervously. "They aren't really found here, they're usually up in WindClan. I think." They nervously glanced at the border. "I wasn't on ThunderClan territory, I was over here the whole time... Oh, yeah nobody's around." I am sounding so incoherent. "I just like being alone. In the forest. That's all." They finished their sentence with a nervous grin- hopefully the gray-and-white ThunderClan molly wouldn't take them as a threat, their heart skipped a beat at the near thought of conflict. Suddenly, they felt very, very dizzy... "Everything's fine, I swear!"

g r a y p a w at RiverClan border with Antlerpaw Antlerpaw seemed almost as flustered as Graypaw, their lame explanation of the stoat and the awkward responses only made the ThunderClan apprentice's fur more ruffled. She wouldn't start a fight, she hadn't learned any battle moves yet anyway. Perhaps Antlerpaw was doing the same thing she was; getting away from a camp that didn't seem to interest her anymore. With her mentor more busy than usual, Graypaw found herself being tossed between warriors as lackluster replacements for her own. How was she going to be a warrior if nobody really wanted to train her? Feeling a bit cross, the gray and white Molly had forgotten about the RiverClanner, an enemy clan cat, standing in front of her. At their mention of not crossing the border, she flicked an ear and stared at the stream, paws kneading the ground. When she didn't reply, Antlerpaw's nervous mew jolted her back to reality, her wide blue eyes settling on theirs. "Oh, I can't smell anything anyway. The wind is hot and it's making my nose burn," she replied, wrinkling her nose lightly. Unfluffing her fur, the apprentice seemed to relax. So long as the river divided them, they couldn't get in trouble for just talking, and besides, who would wanna cross the stream anyway? It's almost a guarantee to get your paws wet. "Aren't you a RiverClan cat? Why aren't you hunting fish?" she pressed lightly. Though her tone and curiosity seemed genuine, it was clear by her body language that Graypaw was still a bit wary of the other feline.

antlerpaw- dαιѕy “Well, um- we don’t just eat fish. Just as you don’t just eat squirrels.” Antlerpaw squeezed out a nervous giggle between sentences. “Besides, when the river freezes up in noleaf... well, if we only ate fish, that would make it very difficult, wouldn’t it?” However, the question got them thinking. What was life like for a ThunderClan cat? Surely their boo-hooing over not having Sunningrocks wasn’t the only thing they had been up to. They recalled the Gathering they had attended that night- ThunderClan had recently had a new leader, although they had to admit they weren’t paying much attention. The gathering was loud and overstimulating. “What’s that new leader like over there? Rainstar, right?” They tilted their head inquisitively. “Is she good at what she does?”

canarypaw of skyclanaccompanied by Squirrelstar, Paleslip, Sharp-paw & Cloudstar | RiverClan & SkyClan borderWatching Cloudstar roll in catmint was definitely a sight that Canarypaw wanted to forget. Never had he expected to see the RiverClan leader rolling in herbs, let alone any clan leader -- Squirrelstar included. What is she, an apprentice? I behave better than that and I'm almost a warrior! he thought, rolling his green eyes. "She's strange, isn't she?" the spotted tabby whispered to Sharp-paw before his gaze drifted back towards the lilac molly.
The tom was unsure if he should cross the border before the rest of his clanmates did, but, really, did it matter who went first? Probably not. Within a heartbeat, Canarypaw made his way over the border and his whiskers twitched uncomfortably at the scent. Yuck! What kind of cat likes the smell of catmint? he wondered, skeptical about the herb. Why was it so... sweet? Was this the kind of thing Echoflower would give to Bravepaw for his legs? He'd have to ask. image source - tumblr | ☾ѕησσzє☽ & Feathertalon kiwi cheesecake & ♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥

Sharppaw ☀☀✬☀☀
As the youngest member of the patrol followed his clanmates, his mind wondered slightly. He couldn’t help but feel a bit down about things. The clans were suffering, his clan was suffering. The heat was unbearable at points. Skyclan was no longer allowed to climb trees. He couldn’t help but get a bit uncomfortable with being a part of a patrol that was visiting a rival clan. He had no experience. What if the other clan retaliated.? What would happen if they tried to chase them off.? Would he be able to defend himself, or would he just be a burden to his clanmates.?
A soft sigh escaped the little black Tom, as they continued along, his yellow gaze trailing to his leader, then traveling to Canarypaw, and finally moving to his mentor, Paleslip. Why had the leader trusted him on such an important mission.? He was the smallest apprentice in the clan, and one of the newest. Would he be less of a threat to Riverclan.? Or would he be an easy target to them.?
Sharppaws thoughts quickly stopped and confusion spread through him, as the patrol reached the border. His eyes widened, at the sight of Cloudstar, the leader of Riverclan, rolling around in some catmint. He couldn’t hardly believe his eyes. What in Starclans name was she doing.?
Letting out a small snort of laughter, as Canarypaw spoke, he watched the apprentice step over them border, and turned his eyes to his mentor, waiting for permission, before following.

g r a y p a w at RiverClan border with Antlerpaw Graypaw thought about the RiverClan apprentice's words and nodded solemnly. "I guess it is just a stereotype," she mewed back, her stubbed tail wagging back and forth. Her hostility had dropped almost completely, glad to have found a cat similar to her. Her blue eyes were wide as Antlerpaw mentioned the new leader, Rainstar. Having been apprenticed as soon as they were made leader, she hadn't paid much attention to how they'd been running things, especially since she was just a kit previously. "Rainstar?" she echoed, blinking lightly. "I'm not sure, I think they do a good job, but I'm not a warrior so I don't know," she stated in her gentle tone. She leaned a bit closer to Antlerpaw, her nose wrinkling at their fishy stench. It was different from hers; she smelled of leaves and dirt, and a bit like acorns maybe. "I'm Graypaw, by the way. I was just made an apprentice, so I can't hunt very well," she explained to him, hoping that clarified why she was so intrigued by their catch.

antlerpaw- dαιѕy "That makes sense," mulled Antlerpaw as Graypaw told them she knew little of the new leader. "She seemed okay at the gathering. The leaders were all arguing though, I think," -they paused, trying to sum up what little had gotten their attention at the Gathering- "-but I don't really know what about or why." Great job making sense, Antlerpaw, sarcastically spat their mind's voice. As Graypaw introduced herself, Antlerpaw looked her over, finally truly observing her. She was small, for a ThunderClan cat (perhaps this was due to her age), but her face had the pronounced square build that was a hallmark of ThunderClanners, and her fur was long and bunched at the claws- a trait Antlerpaw had heard the Clan had adapted because the thick coat protected them from the foliage and thorns that were so common in their territory. Perhaps they are simply really clumsy.Antlerpaw themself did not look much like a standard RiverClan cat, instead being a long, triangular Javanese. They had an athletic swimmers' body, but their face was distinctively WindClan- there was much talk when they were a kit that perhaps someone in their family had WindClan ancestry and were not aware. But the RiverClan apprentice had always been... odd, in other ways besides their long WindClan face. And the oddness particularly came through when Antlerpaw was left to articulate thoughts. They were many things, but a talker was not one of them. "I'm Antlerpaw," they introduced themselves, their syllables uneven and their voice wavering. "I've only been an apprentice for two moons, so I'm not that great at things yet." He looked down at the pale brown stoat's corpse between his paws- it had begun to stiffen now. "I think I just got lucky this time. ...What's your mentor like, over in ThunderClan? Do they take you out here often? What do they think of us RiverClan cats?"

g r a y p a w at RiverClan border with Antlerpaw "They always argue, don't they? Cause we're all from different clans," she began, flopping on her haunches. Her paws became tired from the trek out to the border, pulsing and feeling a bit swollen. "That's what I've heard, anyway." She flicked her tongue across her paw before drawing it over her forehead and down her eye, cleaning off any dirt that had sprayed up while she'd been sprinting through the forest. As Antlerpaw shyly denied their skills, the gray and white Molly shook her head in response, "No, there's no luck in hunting," she mewed, swiping her tongue across her maw. At the mention of her mentor, Leaftumble, the young she-cat nodded, kneading her paws on the ground slowly. "My mentor is Leaftumble, she's a really important warrior to ThunderClan, so sometimes I go out by myself, like today," she explained slowly, thinking about it herself. She really should feel lucky to have Leaftumble as a mentor. "As far as I know, ThunderClan doesn't really like RiverClan, but I think it's cause of Sunning Rocks, I don't really know." She hadn't been alive long enough to witness a skirmish over the rocks, or really even understand why everyone cared about them so much. Perhaps it's because she hasn't endured leaf bare yet.

antlerpaw- dαιѕy "I guess so," said Antlerpaw as Graypaw mentioned that leaders always argue. It never made much sense. If they just agreed they wouldn't have to go through much rigmarole- but that requires sacrifice, does it not? Adults are never good at such things as sacrifice."My mentor is named Stormchime... I never understand her, she always feels... tense?" They shook their head, recalling an image of the dull-pelted tortoiseshell. They were both sly cats, which was likely why they had been paired together as mentor and apprentice, but Antlerpaw never felt like they knew Stormchime as a person. They could always see the gears in Stormchime's head turning... but the direction of the gears was unknown. "She's young, I think, but she is very important." They nodded when Graypaw stated that ThunderClan didn't like RiverClan very much. "I don't think RiverClan likes ThunderClan much, either. Well, besides Cloudstar, but... Cloudstar likes everyone." Antlerpaw wrinkled their nose. "I've heard ThunderClan cats eat bones for a meal, but I don't know how true that is..."

g r a y p a w at RiverClan border with Antlerpaw Though normally shy and reserved, the young Molly felt oddly at ease around the RiverClan apprentice. Something about their presence made her feel not judged or looked at weird. Their inquisitive questions and answers only sparked more curiosity about RiverClan in Graypaw, her fluffy head tilting to the side as they mentioned the bones. The apprentice couldn't help but let out a small giggle, an amused purr rumbling in her throat. "Are you sure that's not ShadowClan?" she replied lightly, her muzzle turned upright in a large grin. "We eat squirrels and mice and birds.. and the occasional rabbit. But no bones or rats or frogs. Yuck, leave that to ShadowClan!" Graypaw suddenly thought it was odd how ThunderClan was painted in a different light than how she viewed it. Other clans must think they're crazy for enjoying the thick undergrowth and the protection it brought, or the delicious smell of a new fresh-kill pile. "I mean, I also thought RiverClan only ate fish and swam for fun, so I guess there's a bunch of stories that aren't true for each clan," she pointed out, ears angling behind her.

Squirrelstar With Canarypaw, Paleslip, Sharppaw, and Cloudstar Stream Her offer was less than tempting, though it seemed rather rude to just stand across the border staring at her. What was the proper etiquette in this situation? Branchstar would laugh and yowl about how she was taking territory, so as long as I don't do that things might go over smoothly for us. Squirrelstar's gaze went over to Canarypaw and Sharppaw, the two apprentices seemed to be sharing a secret between them, one that Squirrelstar will certainly pry out of her apprentice. It wasn't very warrior like of him and Sharp-paw to be whispering among themselves-and laughing-while face to face with another leader. Finally, she dragged her gaze away and back to Cloudstar raising her tail to tell the others to stay put as she made her way across and sat next to the...rather dazed leader.
"Cloudstar, I am sorry to impose on your...healing? Is that what you are doing in this herb patch?" She asked, gently touching one of the now squashed herbs to her paw. It didn't look very useful anymore, instead it most likely would need to be tossed away by the medicine cat of their clan so more could grow. "Either way, I have come to ask for assistance towards my clan during this drought. You see, your clan has some strong trees on this side of the river and we could put it to great use, the river of course would be of no use, the fish inside would remain yours." She thought of something else she could still give them so long as the land was theirs. The herbs here would be useful for her own medicine cat but it seemed Cloudstar had a strong feeling towards them, so much so she had plopped herself atop of them.
"If you wish, you could also keep this catmint as your own. Come see it as you wish, we mainly need this area to hunt and practice our climbing without the risk of another apprentice getting her." She hated playing the hurt apprentice card but Bravepaw would be a useful story to use towards the other clans, it made her upset to just think about it so surely the other clans would feel the same? antlerpaw- dαιѕy "Maybe it is ShadowClan," snickered the apprentice. "Although perhaps they eat garbage instead. Like rats." ShadowClan's borders lay at the other end of the forest, and Antlerpaw knew even less of them than they did of ThunderClan- but the little information they had received from their Clan and their mentor was not particularly kind. "Here in RiverClan... well, I wish we could swim for fun, but really we just do it for patrols and fighting and fishing. And digging up things, sometimes, like pebbles and shells." They thought for a second- collecting pebbles was a part of RiverClan culture. "Do you guys collect anything? We like to find shiny pebbles and put them in our nests. Sometimes, when one cat likes another, they give them the best pebble they have to ask them out." (It was a silly practice, now that Antlerpaw mulled it over, but it was something RiverClan had always done, just as birds built nests and bees collected pollen.) They had always thought of RIverClan as something they were outside of, as something foreign despite being the soil they had been born on. Talking to another apprentice was soothing in a way- even though Antlerpaw didn't want to think of the implications, there was something refreshing in speaking to a foreigner, as if they were talking to their own reflection.

Cloudstar » Most, if not all, of Cloudstar’s attention was on Squirrelstar rather than the rest of her patrol. She wasn’t trying to be rude and ignore the other felines that had so bravely followed their leader onto another Clan’s territory, but she couldn't get her mind to focus on more than just a few things at the moment, and with another leader on her territory that was about as big of a focus as she could muster.
When asked what she was doing in the herb patch, Cloudstar’s whiskers twitched with amusement. She flicked her tail in a wide gesture toward the mint as if a mother proudly displaying her children. ”You can call it something of a spiritual healing. Perhaps more of a cleansing. You’re more than welcome to join me, Squirrelstar, as are the rest of your patrol.” There were plenty of herbs to roll around in yet, and Cloudstar would hate to be one of those possessive cats that hoarded all the mint to herself. Sharing was caring, and in these trying times, every cat needed a friendly paw lended to them.
Ah, so that was why Squirrelstar had paid a visit. ”You are always welcome to use the trees here. RiverClan has no use for them other than shade. I’m more than willing to share the land with you, just like how Rainstar and I share Sunningrocks. There’s no reason to be greedy over land, especially when every Clan is struggling right now.”
Worry creased the RiverClan leader’s face when Squirrelstar brought up SkyClan’s injured apprentice. Sympathy for the young feline constricted in her chest. ”How is your apprentice faring? I hope StarClan has been kind in the healing process. If there’s any way I can help, do let me know. The Clans need to help one another more now than ever, not push each other apart.” And Cloudstar would stand by that. She saw no reason for senseless aggression and fighting in these times. She never saw reason for battle and war, but with all Clans suffering from the heat right now, it was fish-brained to her to even begin to think about causing more suffering to another Clan.

- - Poppyshine of Windclan // Approaching Thunderclan Border - - Accompanied by Sparrowtuft, Peonypaw & Shrikethorn [ Sand , 𝓑𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐫 ♥ , Ivyfalcon ] Poppyshine turned to see their final member, Shrikethorn, approach the group. She gave a grin in greeting her as Peonypaw caught the warrior up where they would be going. Which in fact, she got to choose! The thought still thrilled the younger warrior immensely. Her poor sister Heatherblaze would probably be hearing it all for the rest of the day once she got back. Her head tilted slightly to the side in puzzlement as Sparrowtuft and Peonypaw conversed. "Not sure what audacious means..." the molly said aloud, half to herself. "But yes everyone's here! So we can go!" She chimed in. Still had a lot to learn, the little warrior. Oh well. In due time perhaps.
Her attention then turned to Sparrowtuft, who was signaling them to head out. The gray and white tabby follow him and the rest of their patrol out of the camp and into the moors. It sure felt good to be out! Poppyshine was glad to be out and about. The open sky about the the open moors below. After a time she could spot the recognizable and well-known area that was Four Trees. A very clear indicated they were close to the path and their destination of the Thunderclan border. She could feel her pelt tingle in excitement. They were getting there! The place she chose! This. Is. Amazing! She mentally exclaimed. Quite amusing how excited the little warrior was for a border patrol out of all things.

sparrowtuftaccompanied by Poppyshine, Peonypaw, & Shrikethorn | approaching ThunderClan borderSparrowtuft was about to answer Poppyshine's question, but decided against it only because it wouldn't be right to offend the young warrior with a snide comment. He was tempted though, that in itself was known to him so maybe... keeping it to himself was a good idea. It sure means something you wouldn't know or understand, Poppyshine, he mused.
Though the heat was scorching the moors, it felt nice to get out of camp. From what he could tell, prey seemed to be running fine but the risk of fires was still there. He could only hope WindClan would avoid the worst as losing their valuable territory to flames would be dreadful. While the group traveled on the path, he glanced around, curious if there was a ThunderClan patrol coming their way. There was not.
"Make sure the entire border is marked," he mewed, soon stopping right at the border's edge. "I think we should try to check for any predator scents as well. Maybe if we get lucky there will be prey around too." image source - unknown | 𝐿𝑢𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑏𝑦 - - ★ , 𝓑𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐫 ♥ , Ivyfalcon

Squirrelstar With Canarypaw, Paleslip, Sharppaw, and Cloudstar Stream Her curly whiskers shook softly as she tried refrain from laughing, it wouldn't exactly be 'leader' like of her to laugh at an older leader than herself. Or a younger one I suppose, though I do tend to laugh at or with Batstar a lot, at Rainstar quite frequently too. Either way, she wasn't about to laugh at a genuine offer from the RiverClan molly. Instead she shook her head quickly. "I don't believe we need any cleansing for the time being, though if we ever do I will make sure to seek you out." She mewed, glancing back to her patrol. They were still standing there, that was good. She knew this was a large number of cats to ask for territory but she had gotten lucky it was Cloudstar to find them not another RiverClan cat. It might take a different turn if they were in the camp asking for territory.
"You have some fair points in your logic and I commend you for being so giving during these harsh moons for us. I truly appreciate you're willingness to share with us." She didn't say much more on that subject, she had the land now. It wouldn't do her any good to mention how she believed ThunderClan didn't share the same sentiment of her, nor did she. Fighting was part of the life of a warrior even if she, herself, preferred to settle things with words than claws. Her thoughts drifted for a moment to something else then Cloudstar brought up Bravepaw. Ah yes, she certainly couldn't avoid telling the leader the severity of his condition now. She deserved to know any piece of the information she was after since she had been so kind.
"He is stable, if that means anything. Though, I struggle to believe he will ever be a warrior with the severity of his wounds. He was rather high up when he fell, it did quite a lot to his legs along with a bad head injury. Thank you for the offer, though I suppose there's not much else to do. We have enough herbs for the time being." I think. She would need to ask Echoflower about their supply, she hadn't spoken to her except for a short briefing on Bravepaw. "I will keep in mind your generosity in the coming moons, promise. I hope things grow better for all of us. Should I leave you to your.." Her eyes scanned the herbs once more before floating up to Cloudstar's face. "Uh cleansing?" What a strange thing to do, didn't she have a clan to be watching over instead of being out here? Was RiverClan just...being run by her deputy while she was out doing her own thing? She had to admit, she did agree with Batstar on a few things about this leader. She was rather strange in her way of leading. Feathertalon Sand kiwi cheesecake ♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥

Cloudstar » Not every cat wanted to relax in the way Cloudstar did, she understood that. Every cat had a different idea of relaxation and calming their bodies. For Cloudstar the best way to relax her mind, body, and soul was through the use of these herbs. They were great for more than just greencough during the harsh grip of leaf-bare, and Cloudstar used the soothing herb rather regularly. She made sure to always keep enough around just in case Loonfur did need to use it for a greencough outbreak, but Cloudstar wasn't to worried about saving them when she knew they could easily make a trip to the twolegplace where the kittypets were always willing to share their own supplies.
Just like the kittypets who were so willing to share, Cloudstar herself was more than willing to share land whenever it was needed. Squirrelstar clearly needed the trees during these harsh times, and it wasn't like any RiverClanner would ever try their luck at climbing. They were too much like otters. The river was their home, not the trees. It wasn't like she was giving up their river anyway. The SkyClan leader had been clear to point out that Cloudstar's Clan was free to continue fishing in the waters.
Amusement was quick to spark in the leader's green gaze as a thought drifted into her mind. Now all I need is shared land with WindClan and all the RiverClan borders will be communal. Perhaps she would have to pay Teaselstar a visit; she needed to do that anyway, to wish him luck on his newfound leadership and to give him the same care package she had given to all the Clans when they had found themselves under the reign of a new leader.
The molly's amusement was quick to extinguish when the topic steered back to the injured apprentice in SkyClan. A frown pulled at her lips as he listened to Squirrelstar explain the tom's misfortune. "Reminds me of when Frecklebee had her accident..." Cloudstar trailed off, eyes growing distant as she thought about what had happened to her mate seasons ago. There had been nothing that could have been done, Frecklebee's legs had been damaged beyond repair. Cloudstar could still so easily remember the dread that hollowed her out like a cave, the worry that kept her up night upon night, the fear that plagued her like a ghost that one morning she would find that Frecklebee's body was stiff with the cold bite of death. Cloudstar had been so scared that she would lose the other molly. She still wasn't sure what she would have done had StarClan called for Frecklebee to join them. "Shimmerstar allowed her to become an elder," she told the other leader as she focused back in on what was happening around her in the present rather than getting stuck in the past. "I know becoming an elder is the last thing any young cat wants, but I also doubt he'd want to stay a 'paw forever." She didn't want to add 'if he pulls through'. Cloudstar didn't even want to give that possibility a voice.
What she would give a voice to is the answer that Squirrelstar was now looking for. "You and your patrol are more than welcome to stay should you like, but I'm sure you all have your own duties to tend to back at camp, and I'd hate to keep you from them." A friendly smile danced across Cloudstar's face. "Should SkyClan need anything, you always have friends across the river."

Squirrelstar With Canarypaw, Paleslip, Sharppaw, and Cloudstar Stream If Squirrelstar was honest, she knew very little of Frecklebee. Then again, before her time as deputy or leader she did very little concerning the other clans and remembering names or their stories, well at least that rang true for most of the warriors in the other clans. The name did seem so strike something in her memory, had she heard of this at a gathering? How long ago was it? It wouldn't be polite to ask her about it, I know Frecklebee is Cloudstar's mate and it wouldn't be polite to dig into more. She tried to imagine her in her paws nonetheless. It was difficult, she didn't consider close to anyone in her own clan. Sure, watching them get injured still brought a pang of sadness but not one like the other's leaders. A sudden stab hit her heart as she thought of some other cat getting hurt, how she would helpless to help. Even more helpless than a warrior. She shook the thought away, regaining her composure quickly.
"I am sorry that happened." She whispered, trying to be sympathetic. Her thoughts once more floated away, back to her kithood as she lay helpless in the medicine cat's den while her mother suffered and her siblings were buried. Why am I being emotional? Is it something to do with old age? I'm not even that old. "Bravepaw is a fighter though, I'm sure he will grow strong despite these. Even if he never reaches the full potential of a warrior, I don't plan on him remaining a 'paw forever." That was true, she didn't want to rush into giving him a warrior name though. She would do it when the timing felt right. Right now, it wasn't. His brother was still a 'paw himself. Canarypaw. She looked over to him once more, wondering how he was dealing with all of this. Surely, it wasn't easy. She knew a thing or two about losing siblings. Bravepaw is still alive though, albeit it isn't such a great life right now. She flicked her ear at Cloudstar's offer for them to stay.
Camp could wait. The two apprentices and warrior deserved to explore the new territory. I don't want to look at the judging faces either, no telling what the other warriors think of me. She wished she could tell them the plan forming in her head but she couldn't trust them to keep their mouths shut when faced with mockery. "I believe we will stay for now, if that's alright. I would love to show the three cats in my patrol the new territory and get a feel for it." She brought herself to the standing position, dipping her head to Cloudstar out of habit before quickly jerking it back up. "Thank you for being so understanding." With that, the leader trudged through the water once more and looked to her cats.
"Cloudstar has graciously offered us to share the territory. For now I believe we will look it over and check the branches, see how much weight they can handle. Paleslip, you and I can climb further up while you two stay closer to ground." She mewed, turning quickly back to Cloudstar and calling out to her. "Please tell us if we overstep the newly laid out boundary. I would hate to cause problems." She looked back to Canarypaw, another hit to her heart. He was young. She had been pushing him so hard, should she let up due to the new circumstances? Try to talk to him? What would help? What helped me? She knew exactly what helped her but she wasn't about to suggest it to the tom. He would need to find his own methods of coping, for now she could only offer him so much. I have a whole clan to look after, I can't just focus on a single cat, right? Without even answering the thought, she quickly spoke. "Canarypaw, you and I will work together on testing the branches near the back end of the new territory." Well, she already said it. Might as well try prying something out of him, it might help. Cloudstar » One way Cloudstar stayed positive was by not allowing herself to dwell on negative happenings for too long. She was aware that terrible events did occur, she knew that the life of a warrior was not always sunshine and rainbows, but she also knew there was always a silver lining out there to be found. Frecklebee's accident had been devastatingly tragic, but now RiverClan had somebody in camp they could always rely on when they needed it. There would always be some cat there unless Cloudstar dragged Frecklebee off to relax with her by the river, but beyond that there was always a cat there in the case of an emergency. Frecklebee was also always there to talk to a cat if they needed somebody, and since she didn't have to worry about patrols or anything of the sorts, she had all the time in the world to truly get to know her Clanmates. If anybody needed a personal friend who knew them better than any cat, Frecklebee was there.
Cloudstar couldn't stop the warmth that spread through her body at the thought of how helpful Frecklebee was to her Clan despite her injuries. Her career as a warrior had ended, but not her career as a useful member of RiverClan. No cat could say that Frecklebee was a burden, and should Cloudstar so much as even get word that some cat believed that then she would surely show a side of her that not many would ever have the displeasure of meeting in their lifetime.
Shaking those thoughts away as if they were pesky flies, Cloudstar had to fight herself to stay focused on Squirrelstar. She didn't want to be that cat that only partially paid attention to another when they were clearly here to discuss something important.
A purr rumbled through the lilac leader's chest, that swell of warmth rising up inside her once again as it had done moments before when she thought of her affections toward her mate. It always made her intensely happy when she was able to help another Clan out. "Stay for as long you wish, and I'll be sure to let all of RiverClan know about our shared land so that you and your warriors may visit with no problems. I hope the trees find you well, and I do hope StarClan aids Bravepaw well on his path to recovery." With that she watched as Squirrelstar began to head back across the river with her patrol. "Should you need anything my borders are always open!" Cloudstar called out, hoping that the curly furred leader and her patrol had heard before the distance between them was too great.

windclan camp ; with sparrowtuft, poppyyshine, & shrikethorn ;
The last conversation Peonypaw had with StarClan was boring; it was entirely one-sided. He had been pleading, reposed on the cold egg-like stones of the river as it dipped past Fourtrees. On the slice tangential to WindClan territory; where it stole out of RiverClan lands and became the border. Peonypaw could see the river now, achingly slow, in the distance. It moved with a toilsome ebb. Warm as milk. Warm as the sun that beat incessantly across his back.
Peonypaw had pleaded with StarClan to make him strong. Instead, he grew thin and beautiful. He grew long-limbs that his torso would never grow into, and ears that framed his angular face like leaves do the boughs of a tree. The called attention to it. Peonypaw was snake-bite quick, but he would never be strong. StarClan had let him down in a dramatic show of apathetic injustice. Peonypaw spat on them. Peonypaw spat on the ThunderClan warriors that were StarClan-gifted to be stronger than him. It was in their blood as much as “kittypet scum” was in his.
Peonypaw stopped as Sparrowtuft did, watching the deputy with narrowed eyes. Curious eyes. Tracing his frame like an artist would; sketching him in his mind. Is that tender? Is that checking someone out? Peonypaw, are you hitting puberty? The tom looked away quickly, nodding absently at the deputy’s words. Mark the whole border. Look out for predators.
The usual suspects for a border patrol.
“Sounds good”, the tom muttered before stalking off towards the south, where RiverClan territory converges with ThunderClan and WindClan’s in a brush-laden point. If there was any place predators, or prey, would be hiding, he would expect it to be in this area. And Peonypaw was, as usual, raring for a fight.

ShrikethornThunderClan border | Sparrowtuft ( Sand), Poppyshine ( 𝐿𝑢𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑏𝑦 - - ★), Peonypaw ( 𝓑𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐫 ♥) On their way to the border, Shrikethorn pretty much said nothing, but she felt her irritation at being interrupted fading some. And it was probably a good thing - getting on the new deputy’s bad side did not seem like the best plan. Peonypaw on the other hand did annoy her, though Sparrowtuft didn’t seem to mind his boldness much. And Poppyshine, well, she seemed a little overenthusiastic, after all this was only a typical border patrol.
Once they reached the border, Shrikethorn followed Sparrowtuft’s instructions. She hoped the patrol was uneventful so they could get back, the sooner the better.

canarypawaccompanied by Squirrelstar, Paleslip, & Sharp-paw | RiverClan border + streamThe discussion of his littermate left Canarypaw feeling uncomfortable. He had visited Bravepaw while the gathering was going on, but he was fearful for him. What would his life even be like? If his legs didn't heal or if he couldn't move anymore? Was it worth living if he couldn't enjoy life with the rest of the clan? Then again, they did have Hobblesway in a similar situation but... it wasn't that severe. It sounded like Frecklebee, whoever she was, had a very similar accident to his brother's. In Canarypaw's opinion, Bravepaw's state was horrifying, concerning, and it left a lump in his throat. He despised thinking about it, but it was what weighed on his mind the most.
The dark cream tabby dipped his head in thanks to Cloudstar as Squirrelstar spoke, explaining the plan to test out the tree branches. "Coming, Squirrelstar," he mewed as he got to his paws slowly. He wasn't in the mood to do much, if anything at all. Maybe this would change his mind up a bit. image source - tumblr | ☾ѕησσzє☽ , kiwi cheesecake & ♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥

Squirrelstar With Canarypaw Stream She slowly led her apprentice across the stream once more to the other side. She would be smelling like the fishy water for moons it felt like at this point. I don't see how RiverClan cats can stay happy with our own scent. I'm growing mad from just being near it. She decided to start with the furthest tree, looking to the smaller branches before offering them up to Canarypaw. I should say something, right? This is the same way his brother got hurt. I won't let him get hurt though.
"You know...I was in your paws once." She mewed, staring ahead at the branch as she waited for him to climb up. Her heart was racing heavily with anticipation. Hopefully, these trees were stronger. "My siblings, they passed when I was a kit." Starclan. Why did I mention death to him? Bravepaw is still alive! She needed to correct this before Canarypaw saw it the wrong way. "I mean. Well." She was stuttering, why was she stuttering? She never did this, not since she was a warrior trying to contain her emotions. She shifted her weight, sitting back and trying to remain straight as she struggled to get her thoughts together.
"I meant, I know how it feels. To think you lost a sibling due to something out of your control." Better, still not great but it was certainly better than mentioning death when Bravepaw's fate lied in limbo for them. "Bravepaw is a strong tom though." She carefully continued, glancing to the other cats. Could they tell she was struggling? Hopefully not. She was never the one to be good with emotions, she preferred to stick to the cold hard facts when discussing things with clanmates or any cat for that matter. Well kind of. Just pretend he's your friend who needs help Squirrelstar. Pretend he's someone else. "I don't...think he'd want you to be worried. You have every right to worry though." Oh Starclan that sounded bad. Really bad. Like a vague threat. She was sure he'd grow angry soon, if he did she wouldn't exactly judge him for it but he needed to channel the emotions into something else. Anger and sadness didn't make a warrior, they brought them down. She saw potential in her apprentice and didn't want to see him follow down the same path she did. Sure, she turned out somewhat okay in the long run but she still struggled to show emotions in a healthy way.
"Listen, Canarypaw, I'm not good with emotions. Never have been." She felt as though all her fur was gone when she said this, vulnerable. "But you need to understand that what happened to Bravepaw was tragic. While it's okay to be upset or angry at the world you need to find a good way to channel those emotions. If you ever need a cat to lend their ears, I'm here as both your mentor and leader. Though, I suggest not telling the other cats this because I'd rather not be the emotional healer of the clan. Just know that I'm here for you." She finally mewed, moving under the branch to catch him if he fell. Sand
Apologies for Squirrel, she's either real quiet and says nothing or is like...a ball of words all out at once. Again, sorry xD
