Quickwing scrabbled up onto the bank with thanks to Skyflight. She dropped Spiritstar, flopping on the ground next to her. She coughed, coughing up some water that had got in her lungs. She gasped, sides rising and falling quickly. “Is she ok?” She coughed again.

Slateheart looked in shock, hearing that his mate had fallen front the cliff. He moved to find Warblerpaw, wanting to comfort his son.
Sunfury exchanged a look with Rookflight. The leader had been looong a lot of lives lately. That wasn’t a good sign. Hopefully they would be able to retrieve her body safely.

The leader had been looong a lot of lives lately. That wasn’t a good sign. Hopefully they would be able to retrieve her body safely. Buzzardfall skidded up to Sunfury’s side, her eyes wide with shock at what she had heard. She looked at her brother and asked. “She’s got to be alright, right? I mean, not alright because- you know, but! She’s got lots of lives left, right?” She asked.

Skyflight raced to Spiritstar's side, panicking when she noticed the leader still wasn't breathing, "She hasn't woken up yet Quickwing." Skyflight nudged the leader onto her side, pressing her paws down on Spiritstar's chest to help get the water out of her lungs. "Come on Spiritstar." she murmured.

Warblerpaw's ears flattened even more and his tail curled between his legs for a brief moment when he made eye contact with Slateheart across the clearing. The young tom moved to his father, pressing himself into his dark fur.
"Dad," he croaked out, having a hard time keeping his emotions in check again.

Slatehead rested his head on the top of Warblerpaw’s. “Shh.” He whispered. “It’s ok. She’ll come back to us.” He murmured softly. He prayed the fall wasn’t enough to take all her lives.
Quickwing shakily got to her paws. She coughed up a little more water before moving to Spiritstar’s side. “Come on.” She coughed, moving to help Skyflight.

"She'll come back to us," Warblerpaw echoed, pulling away from his father for a brief moment. "I'm...glad StarClan gave her multiple lives."

Firefang joined Quickwing and Skyflight next to their leader. He paced back and forth, keeping his eyes on Spiritstar to see if she would stir. Please wake up, he thought desperately, wondering gravely if her injury was so critical that she wasn't going to recover.

Bumblepaw -- Middle of Skyclan Camp -- with Wingpaw, Moonblazer , and Flyingpaw, 🌙Moonpower🌙
Bumblepaw's eyes widened in shock. Spiritstar lost a life? She whipped her head around to stare at her denmates, checking to see if they had heard the news as well. Though losing a life was not a new concept to the apprentice, the shock was still raw. It reminded her of the fleeting mortality of each of her clanmates. "Spiritstar lost a life..." She echoed in a murmur to Wingpaw and Flyingpaw. She looked out, her gaze flicking between Warblerpaw and Emberpaw, and took a step forward. "Should we... should we go check on them?" She asked, uncharacteristically worried. Her stomach felt like it was in knots. For all her grandstanding, she did truly care about her clanmates. Yet the thought of trying to comfort them was so foreign to her that she unconsciously had to ask permission.

Yet the thought of trying to comfort them was so foreign to her that she unconsciously had to ask permission. Wingpaw's ears fell against his head as he watched the terse interaction between Warblerpaw and Emberpaw, and then the two apprentices going in different directions. He swallowed. "Warblerpaw's bound to be a wreck right now. But Emberpaw's got to be no better, knowing that Spiritstar must have lost a life trying to get her down from Jagged Drop. I don't know if either of them are gonna want anybody going near them." He fretted, similar to Bumblepaw that beneath all his energy and mischief, he did care about all of his friends, Warblerpaw and Emberpaw being two of them. He looked at Bumblepaw, not sure what to do.

Bumblepaw twitched her whiskers in indecision. Finally, as though her paws were acting before her mind could catch up, she began to walk towards the medicine den, not waiting to see if Wingpaw would follow her. Warblerpaw was with his father, a duo Bumblepaw did not feel like breaking up at this moment, so her paws guided her towards Emberpaw. Before she got to Spiderbite's den, she stopped short. She flicked her tail with indecision once more, then sighed and turned, grabbing a small mouse from the freshkill pile before continuing into the medicine den. Her eyes took a moment to adjust to the darkness of the den, but she quickly spotted the white and gray she-cat. She hoped to avoid the gaze of either medicine cat, not wanting her rare kind act to be viewed by anyone else. She threw the mouse brusquely to the fellow apprentice's paws. "Here." She said gruffly, shuffling her paws a bit. "I know you're probably hungry... after such a long and stupid adventure." She wished she could catch the words as they stumbled out of her mouth- Emberpaw surely had enough on her without Bumblepaw having to berate her more- but Bumblepaw almost couldn't help but tack on the rude words as a defense mechanism. Showing a moment of softness was so unlike her that she felt like she had to overcompensate. Her fur ruffled out a little more. If she gets upset by that, she thought in embarrassed anger, then that's her own problem.

Showing a moment of softness was so unlike her that she felt like she had to overcompensate. Her fur ruffled out a little more. If she gets upset by that, she thought in embarrassed anger, then that's her own problem. Emberpaw had fallen into a heavy muted silence as she laid in the medicine den. She stiffened as Bumblepaw approached, eyes flickering towards the mouse before the she-cat’s words pierced her. She knew good and well that this was Bumblepaw trying in her own blunt and odd way to be kind, but it wasn’t the other apprentice she felt herself tense over. She eyed the prey, and a swarm of guilt overcame her again. Spiritstar was dead and mangled at the bottom of Jagged Drop, and yet here she was, unharmed in camp, being offered prey she had done nothing to deserve. Looking at the mouse made an ill feeling rise in her. She could only look away from it and swallow down the bile as she spoke back with a graveled voice. “Bumblepaw… I really appreciate it, but… but I-“ She paused to gain her breath. “I don’t think I can eat anything right now…” Wingpaw had trailed after Bumblepaw, knowing that Spiderbite would split his whiskers if he crowded into the den. Instead, he watched from the entrance, a bit surprised by Bumblepaw’s attempt at kindness, and by Emberpaw’s utterly rattled look.

Bumblepaw flicked her ears back. "Whatever. Eat it, don't eat it, see if I care." She huffed, giving her chest fur a few embarrassed licks. She turned away slightly, feeling so uncomfortable that she was preparing to leave the den. "I'm just..." She lowed her voice to almost a whisper, "just glad you're safe, or whatever." Her eyes flicked over to the entrance of the den where she saw Wingpaw watching her, and she felt like she would melt to the floor. Why did I even bother coming over here? She thought. I look so stupid right now.

I look so stupid right now. “I-…” Emberpaw hesitated, wanting to desperately and miserably ask Bumblepaw why she was checking on her, why she was glad she was okay when she had caused their leader to lose a life. Emberpaw felt a wave of self-hatred then, but she also knew that this kind of thing must be new waters for Bumblepaw. It wouldn’t be right to brush her act of care away. Instead, Emberpaw offered a weak smile and nodded. “Thanks, Bumblepaw. And… I won’t tell the other apprentices about it, if you don’t want me to.” “I already know!” Wingpaw piped in, though a small grin crossed his face. “I won’t tell either, though. We just wanted to make sure you and Warblerpaw are okay… which, er. Okay well, you’re both probably not but, yeah…” He attempted. Emberpaw sulked at that, her voice light and guilty as she admitted. “Warblerpaw probably hates me. He has every right to…” She mumbled, though it saddened her. She had always liked Warblerpaw’s personality and saw him as a friend. Well, she supposed that was no longer the case now…

Bumblepaw shot a glare at Wingpaw. "You better not say anything, or I'll shred you!" She threatened with a hiss, trying to regain her status as a tough warrior in training. Her ears flicked back to Emberpaw when she heard her worry over Warblerpaw. She was at the end of her niceties, and dismissed the speckled she-cat's words with a noncommittal shrug. "Don't know about any of that. Warblerpaw has bees for brains anyway, I bet he'll forget by tomorrow." She knew neither statement was true- Warblerpaw was quite a bright tom, and she had caught the darkness in his expression when he looked towards Emberpaw when the two apprentices walked into camp together, but she didn't know anything more comforting to say and couldn't bring herself to bother trying.

(I'm sorry I poofed. It's been a busy week.)
Spiritstar suddenly convulsed. Harsh coughs ached her lungs as she spit up river water. She rolled to a crouch and her stomach lurched as she threw up more water. Heavy breaths left her winded and she laid dead weight upon the ground. When the breeze stirred, she shivered, her silver fur now dark with water and sticking in every direction.

"Hah! You'd have to catch me first, if you ever want to shred me!" Wingpaw smirked to Bumblepaw, eyes sparkling with a playful challenge, before he grew a bit serious once again as soon as he heard what Emberpaw said to Bumblepaw. "I can't talk for Warblerpaw, but Bumblepaw's got a point. He's always been pretty light-hearted. He might be upset now, but it's not like you did anything on purpose." "It still happened!" Emberpaw exclaimed, before she grew quiet again and slowly shook her head, looking miserable. She didn't want to get Spiderbite upset either with all the commotion in his den now. "It happened, and I... I shouldn't have done it, even if it was all an accident. I... look, I appreciate the words, but I think I just want to be alone right now, okay?" She pleaded to the younger apprentices.

(No prob from me! I'm about to have a busier week I think, so I may be poofing soon too lol)
Bumblepaw shrugged again, trying to not let the raw emotion of the she-cat tug at her heartstrings. "'Kay." She said noncommittally. "I didn't want to stick around here anyway. This place stinks." She curled up her nose at the smell of herbs and the stale scent of age-old previous sicknesses. She turned to Wingpaw and gave him a challenging shove with her paw. "And I could catch you, easy! You'd probably trip over your paws within the first heartbeats!" She boasted, stretching out her front paws before her as though showing off her running muscles. Truthfully, she was better at fighting than racing, but she would never admit that, either.

Instead, he focused on Bumblepaw with a smirk, returning the shove of her paw with a light shove of his own as they slipped from the medicine den. "Oh yeah? You think you could catch me so easily? You're lucky that the Warriors are going to go nuts about keeping an eye on us apprentices after all this, or I'd run right out of camp and show you who's really faster." He challenged.

Mothbreeze was laying down on a warm boulder not to far from the camp entrance, ears pricked and alert of any sign of the patrol returning with Spiritstar, paws itching to get up and do something, yet there were no signs of her clan-mates. She let out a frustrated sigh, eyes still trained to where they should be emerging from, though she was grateful the apprentices have returned, the announcement Jadefeather had made, made her anxious.

I can show you a good spot to rest, if you like." He offered.
