Warblerpaw parted his jaws, concentrating to detect any trace of prey-scent. Faintly, he could pick up the smell of a robin in the direction they were already headed.
"Robin," he mewed, beginning to pad up the gentle slope of their territory. "Seems kind of far, but could just be nesting in the trees."
As they moved, he continued to scent, circling a tree where it seemed strongest. Peering into the canopy overhead, he pointed with his tail.
"There," he whispered. High up in the crook of two limbs was a robin in its nest. "Since it's dark, it might be asleep. Think it could have eggs?"

Think it could have eggs?" “If it does, it’s a bit early for nesting, but…” Plumwillow hummed, having been enticed by the mention of a robin. The moment she saw it in its nest, she hesitated. As much as she wanted to catch every piece of prey they could, she also knew that it was best to let the birds on their eggs live to keep prey going for newleaf and greenleaf. “We’ll leave it.” She decided. “But, what we can find instead is a squirrel hollow. There may be some poking their heads out now that leafbare is starting to end.”

"Mmm, okay," he meowed. He didn't understand why they'd ignore a fat bird right in front of them, but he listened to his mentor; especially when she mentioned squirrel, his favorite prey. He nodded to her, "I think I saw one near the Boulder Hollow actually."

Plumwillow nodded in approval, padding quickly towards the direction of the Boulder Hollow. She mewed casually as they meandered through the property. "Excited about the chance of getting to go to Twolegplace in the future? Who knows, Whitesun might just pick you to go next!" She giggled.

"Absolutely," he meowed, following along and enjoying the sounds of the wind in the trees. "I've always wondered about it. I've seen the fences on patrol and heard many stories from my mother and father and everyone else, it'll be nice to finally see it for myself."
Secretly, he also hoped he'd get to meet a kittypet or two. He always wanted the chance to speak with one, to hear about their lives that seemed worlds away from theirs. No hunting, no fighting, no sickness...it sounded so easy, so comfortable.

I would know, because my mind's the same way. But, here's a secret... Ah, I've never been past the fences myself either, so if we both go, it'll be a new adventure for the both of us." Plumwillow chattered, glancing back to make sure that Warblerpaw was scenting and tracking for the squirrel. He was more than capable, she knew this, but it was always fun to see him using the skills she had taught him, it made her feel proud, like a true Warrior and all that nice stuff.

"Well then, I'm glad it'll at least be with you!" he meowed, lowering his voice as the scent of squirrel grew stronger. "I mean, if I turned out this good after all your training, then you've gotta be the best warrior in the Clan." He smirked. "Well...maybe aside from my mother and father. And that's only until I become a warrior, myself."
He slowed, falling into a stalking position as easily as the rain fell in greenleaf. He tilted his ears toward the thick-trunked tree ahead of them, where a gap showed between two branches, and the end of a fluffy tail could be seen. He looked to Plumwillow, sweeping his tail low.
"I'll climb the tree to get it," he whispered. "Can you cover me if it runs?"

Hawkpaw bounded out of the apprentice’s den and gave her sister a nudge as she raced towards the camp entrance, “Come on, slow poke!” She teased, looking over her shoulder at Emberpaw.
Sunpaw sat by herself, feeling jealous that Firepaw got to go to the Twolegplace first. She huffed, wishing Bloodrime was still in the apprentice’s den with her, but now he was a warrior.

They were going to see who could climb the ledges the highest, and it was the perfect time to do so, inbetween patrols when the camp was at its emptiest.

“Bet I can beat you there!” Hawkpaw boasted, racing out of camp and turning towards the high ledges. Willownose had been taking her for climbing training for awhile now and Hawkpaw couldn’t wait to show her sister how good she had gotten at it.

I’ve got the quickest paws in the Clan!” Emberpaw exclaimed, a thrill of challenge in her eyes as she raced after her sister. This was exciting! She’d been working really hard to master her climbing, and there was no way she was going to be falling behind her sister.

He'd caught the squirrel flawlessly, earning himself praise from Plumwillow and a well-deserved meal. He placed the squirrel onto the fresh-kill pile, selecting a small starling for himself to enjoy. "As always, it's been lovely," he mewed good-naturedly to his mentor before stretching his jaws wide in a yawn. "But I do believe there's a nest calling my name." He made quick work of his starling, giving himself a quick wash before burying the bones beneath the tree just outside of camp that he'd been occupying earlier that morning. Heading to the apprentice's den, he stepped carefully over the other cats' nests to where his was, snug in the middle. He took a moment to arrange the moss and feathers just so before curling up, his fluffy tail laying over his nose as his eyes slid shut and he drifted to sleep.

She climbed up the stone with leaps from her long legs, before settling down to look across camp.

(Starter for anyone!)
Cobrafang was grooming his fur, having alot more free time now that Mudwasp was a Warrior. He was proud of the young Warrior, having enjoyed every moment of his training. He looked around, hoping to find Seedflight.
Buzzardfall paced lightly, a part of her wishing she could have gone with Firepaw to Twolegplace, but another part of her knowing that Jadefeather and Silvercloud were far too useful to not go on the first patrol. She hoped Firepaw would be good for them, knowing how prickly her apprentice could get at times.
Withermist was organizing stones in camp in odd fashions, seeming to want to give the kits something fun to do when they were bored. He made sure the small formations were in sight from the nursery, a raspy hum escaping him as he worked silently, unblinking in his focus.
Dreamlily tried her best to speak with Echowing, but her sister's cold growl made the gentle she-cat bristle. She missed her sister, more than anything, but Frostyfoot's lie had brought so much anger and misery to Echowing. Dreamlily feared everyday that her sister would reveal the secret, and her father would be punished.

I posted a starter for Sunpaw if you wanna have Bloodrime talk to her, Fox. ^.^)
Hawkpaw laughed as she raced across SkyClan territory, glancing over her shoulder and seeing Emberpaw starting to catch up to her. She came to a stop once they had reached Jagged Drop, looking up at the tall cliff with slight nervousness. Hawkpaw shook her head and looked at Emberpaw, not wanting her sister to see that she was nervous.
Seedflight gave him a light smile, “Everything’s alright. At least, I think it is.” She mewed, pressing against him lightly, “I just went to see the medicine cats and they gave me some good news.”

I bet we could climb that, no problem! We’ll be back before anyone can notice we’ve gone too far. Come on!” She cheered, paws itching to climb. “Good news from the medicine den?” Cobrafang asked, eyes wide as he thought of the implication. What other good news could come from there except… “Seedflight, does that mean you’re…” He trailed off, body buzzing with hope.

Hawkpaw hesitated for a moment, eyeing Jagged Drop. It had seemed like a great idea before, but now that she was looking at it, the cliff face seemed so much bigger. “Are you sure we should climb this? Maybe we should climb Skystar Tree first.” She suggested, looking at Emberpaw.
Seedflight gave a purr and nodded at his question, “I’m expecting kits.” She mewed, looking at Cobrafang. This was something she had wanted for awhile now and she was excited about the thought of kits- their kits- running around soon.

You said that you wanted to, I bet it’s not that hard. We’re the deputy’s kits! We can do this!” She urged. Cobrafang was silent for a moment, before he grinned brightly and exclaimed. “You are? Oh, thank Starclan! Kits! How exciting!” He purred, pressing close to Seedflight. After all this time of trying, it was finally happening!

Bloodrime stepped from the warriors den, letting out a yawn. He shook his fur before glancing around. Spotting Sunpaw, he let out a purr and headed over to his friend. “What are you up to?” He asked her.
Fallpaw complained loudly to Flyingpaw. “I wish I got to go on the twolegplace patrol.” He huffed. “It’s no fair Firepaw got to go.” He grumbled, jealous of his brother.

Flyingpaw gave Fallpaw a sympathetic look. "I wish I could go too. I can't imagine what the twoleggedplace might be like. I've heard so many things!" She shook out her pelt and looked hopefully toward the leader's den. "Maybe Spiritstar will pick one of us next time?"

Splashecho sat outside the warrior's den with her pelt itching. She watched down the cliff, to the camp entrance where the patrol had gone. Allying with ThunderClan? What was Spiritstar thinking? And going to the twoleggedplace for that matter? Splashecho's whiskers twitched with disgust. They were SkyClan cats. They hunted in trees, not twoleggedplaces. They ate birds, nothing else.
Her thoughts drifted to last night. She visited Waspstrike again. He had been appalled as she was to learn SkyClan was working with ThunderClan and hunting outside their borders. Waspstrike commented if Spiritstar wasn't careful, they'd be bending to ThunderClan before long, like Robinstar had bended to AdderClan.
Splashecho's fur bristled at the thought. They couldn't go back to that. SkyClan had suffered enough from AdderClan, they couldn't risk falling back into that same rut. Splashecho looked up the cliff to Spiritstar's den. Perhaps the leader's former life as a medicine cat blinded her too much with compassion. If ThunderClan wanted to further the alliance, how far was Spiritstar willing to go? Splashecho didn't see her being strong enough--warrior enough--to put her paw down and say no. After the fire, Splashecho knew Spiritstar feared a battle. That's why she did nothing to stop ShadowClan at Fourtrees. If ThunderClan pushed, would Spiritstar be able to resist?

Sparrowstrike frowned as he saw his mate across camp looking distressed. He padded over to her, brushing against her side. "Hey, Splashecho," He murmured affectionately. "What's got you all bristly now?"

"Hm?" Splashecho blinked when her mate padded up. She smiled softly at him. For him, she'd always be grateful, but she knew she could never tell him about Waspstrike and her visits to her brother. "Doesn't it bother you?" She asked softly. "That we're allying with ThunderClan? That we're hunting prey outside our territory and even searching for prey that isn't SkyClan prey." She shook her head. "I doubt the patrol comes back with all birds. Silvercloud even hunted a lizard, yesterday. A lizard! We're not ShadowClan. We don't eat whatever crowfood is front of us. We're SkyClan. Our prey is birds. Our territory is the trees. How long to you think this is going to last?"
