Lavendersky sighed softly and sat down, her tail curling around her paws. "Unexplained injuries is often the most common sign from what I've seen." She meowed, thinking about it. "Just waking up with injuries, and more than a little scratch from someone else kicking in their sleep."

Spiritstar smiled as the new warriors held their heads high. "Dreampaw! Echopaw! Whisperpaw! Please step forward!" Spiderpaw blanched. How many apprentices were becoming warriors?! It's a lot easier for them, he thought bitterly. Becoming a medicine cat is harder.Dreampaw padded towards Spiritstar with a gentle smile, glancing back at her father with a look of hope in her eyes. Frostyfoot’s eyes were just as gentle as his daughter’s, joy in them as he watched his kits become Warriors. Echopaw refused to look at her father though, the misery festering in her. As hard as she worked to be a Skyclan Warrior, she knew she’d always have Shadowclan in her veins. A medicine cat’s blood in her veins. She bit her lip, making her anger seem like nervousness as she slowly looked up at Spiritstar. |

Spiderpaw flicked his ear. He wasn't sure how well he'd be able to keep an eye on that. What if the cats didn't come to them for treatment of those injuries? He lashed his tail, feeling frustrated that there wasn't many more clear signs. As unlikely as it was that they'd have a repeat of AdderClan, Spiderpaw didn't want to slack off. Not with Shadeclaw having tried to take over ThunderClan and all the Clans being weakened by the fire.

Whisperpaw gave a light grin as he and his siblings were called next and hurried after them. He looked over at Frostyfoot, excitement clear in his eyes.

"The three of you have proven yourselves worthy of warriorship." Spiritstar looked at each one of them with a warm smile on her face. "You've shown dedication, hardwork, and strength through the hard times these past couple moons. So, by the power of StarClan, I give you warrior names." Spiritstar nodded to each one of them. "Dreampaw, from now on you shall be known as Dreamlily. StarClan recognized your tenderness and hope. Echopaw, you shall be known as Echowing. StarClan honors your strength and overcoming. Lastly, Whisperpaw, you shall be known as Whisperstone. StarClan honor yours sturdiness and mind. We welcome you all." Spiritstar looked over at all the new warriors. "All of you, as warriors of SkyCLan!"

Dreamlily purred as her new name was called. She liked the sound of it, and even more so liked lilies when they popped up, rare and beautiful. She looked happily at Whisperstone and Echowing, though her smile fell a bit as Echowing merely turned her head to stare out at their clanmates instead.
“Echowing! Whisperstone! Dreamlily!” Frostyfoot cheered happily for his kits, purring with pride as he nodded and winked at his son when he looked over at him. His heart ached seeing Echowing ignore him.

Whisperstone smiled back at Dreamlily, but gave Echowing a concerned look. He was starting to grow worried about her, ever since the fire, she’s been acting strange.

"Sneaking off, behavior changes, a withdrawal from the clan as a whole." She said, tipping her head a bit as she thought about it. "Questions about what ifs in a situation about certain ailments, particularly eating of poisonous herbs." |

Dreamlily looked at Whisperstone with a worried glance, able to tell that he was thinking the same thing she was. She flicked her ear, motioning that they should talk once the ceremony was over.

"There certainly will be plenty of you to watch over the clan tonight." Spiritstar purred at all the new warriors. "And we will leave you too it." She nodded her head as a way of dismissing the Clan.
Spiderpaw flicked his tail. "Questions about dangerous herbs?" He repeated.

Lavendersky gave a small nod. "I remember a long time ago, near the beginning, there were talks of apprentices asking about Deathberries, Foxglove, and Nightshade." She meowed as she looked at him. "At first, we thought it was harmless, they were asking so they didn't accidentally mess with the wrong thing in the forest, especially when they helped gather certain herbs. Unfortunately, it turned out not all questions were so innocent."

Spiderpaw gave a hum of thought. So far, no one had asked about those particular herbs, but he found himself even more grateful that they didn't collect that type of herb like the ShadowCLan medicine cats do. "I would never give a cat any of those."

"They didn't ask for them Spiderpaw, they just wanted to know about them. What did they look like, smell like, what are the signs of poisoning..." Lavendersky sighed and shook her head. "It's unfortunate, but it has happened."

Spiderpaw flattened his ears. "That's a tricky situation then. How do you know if they're wanting to know for the sake of knowing or wanting to know to harm someone else?"

"Because in general apprentices should no better than to mess with anything that unless asked." Lavendersky said with a small snort. "It's one thing to ask the difference between those and herbs when they are helping to collect or if they are thinking of being a medicine cat. It's a different thing entirely when they just randomly ask without any reasoning behind it."

Springpaw looked at all the new warriors longingly, dreaming of the day she would also earn her warrior name.
Twigpaw smacked Springpaw with his tail, trying to knock his littermate out of it. "We're barely apprentices birdbrain, we've got a lot of training to do before we can get our names too."
Springpaw huffed, looking away from Twigpaw "It's gotta happen someday though!"

"I see your point." Spiderpaw hummed thoughtfully. The thought gnawed at his belly. Could any of his clanmates really go dark like Robinstar did? He wanted to have faith that none of them would, but he didn't want to not be vigilant.

Lavendersky listened to him, her eyes squinted a bit, "No." She meowed simply, thinking back on it. "Even from when I was a tiny kit, I would crawl out of the nest and follow Eaglecry's scent to the medicine den. After Spiritstar and her siblings were born, I spent all the time I could in the medicine den until I was old enough to be named an apprentice."

Spiderpaw flicked his ear. Lavendersky's story was definitely different than this. He didn't seek out the medicine den, he just always ended up here. Trying to get away from his annoying siblings and their constant tussling. He hoped he'd be the same as Lavendersky though. He didn't want to regret his choice. He didn't now. Herbs were so much better than fighting, but who knew what the future would bring. "That's good," Spiderpaw mewed after a moment, not really knowing what else to say.

"Not all choose to come to the den as you and I did." Lavendersky meowed as she tipped her head towards him. "Some were incapable of fighting anymore and chose to pursue being a medicine cat to still be useful. Others were told by Starclan in a prophecy that their true calling was the herbs." She meowed, thinking about it.

"Isn't that what happened to Aspenfall and Eaglecry?" Spiderpaw looked over at his mentor. "They were both warriors before they became medicine cats?" He remembered Lavendersky telling him about Eaglecry--she talked about him a lot. As for the ThunderClan medicine cats, he wasn't so sure. He could've swore Slatesight was a medicine cat too, but he wasn't sure what happened with that.

"I wonder if I'll ever train someone." Spiderpaw spoke quietly, looking out across the Clan in thoughtfulness. With the future uncertain, he didn't know if he'd even make it to be a full medicine cat. That thought made him sigh and he couldn't help but shoot a bitter look toward all the new warriors.

Lavendersky turned a bit to face him, "You will someday." She meowed, knowing he was wondering of it. He was well beyond what he should be for receiving his medicine cat name, but so much had happened as of recent, the medicine cat gathering had been difficult to get too.
