Pheasantcry sat down close to the leader.

"Starclan...I guess so!" Buzzardfall exclaimed, instantly curious as to what Spiritstar was calling the meeting for. She turned around quickly, ushering Firepaw back towards the camp. "Bur right after we're going right back out!"

Spiritstar waited for her Clan to come together before she spoke. "I've been told that many of our apprentices have passed their warrior assessments and after the tragedy of the fire, seeing how many of our apprentices rose up to the tasks of aiding the clan. There are many who deserve their warrior names!" Spiritstar searched the crowd for the young cats. "Bloodpaw, Spectorpaw, please step forward!"

Bloodpaw and Spectorpaw both looked up in surprise. They didn’t think their warrior ceremony would be now! They both hurried forward, stopping below Spiritstar.

Bloodpaw hesitated a moment. He was nervous but nodded his head. “I do.”

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior names." Spiritstar nodded to both of them. "Bloodpaw, from this moment on you shall be known as Bloodrime. StarClan honors your strength and your courage. Spectralpaw, you shall be known as Spectralswirl. StarClan honors your determination and your heart." Spiritstar stood up, always having enjoyed these ceremonies. "we welcome you both as full warriors of SkyClan!"

“Bloodrime! Spectorswirl!” Plumwillow called out brightly for the new Warriors as other cheers rose up from the crowd.

Spiderpaw's cheers weren't very enthusiastic. He didn't even look over at the new warriors.

Dewpaw stepped forwards with a tremble of excitement, stumbling a bit and fixing herself with a little cough, before she smiled up at Spiritstar.

My cats cheered for the new warriors.
Frostpaw stood and followed her siblings up to Spiritstar, her own excitement in her eyes.
Mudpaw padded over to Spiritstar with his head held proudly. Finally! They were going to be warriors.

Bloodrime purred lightly as his warriors ceremony finished. He was finally a warrior. He could finally prove he was a loyal member of Skyclan.
Spectorswirl moved off with her brother to sit with the rest of the cats. She had her chest puffed proudly as her warrior name.

Dewcloud puffed her chest, pride and joy in her eyes as she glanced over to Mudwasp and Frostlight.
“Mudwasp!” Cobrafang cheered loudly for his former apprentice, voice booming with pride.

Mudwasp lifted his head proudly as Spiritstar named him. He was going to be the best warrior SkyClan has ever seen.
Shadowmask purred proudly as her kits were made warriors and called out their new names, “Dewcloud! Frostlight! Mudwasp!”

Spiderpaw blanched. How many apprentices were becoming warriors?! It's a lot easier for them, he thought bitterly. Becoming a medicine cat is harder.

"And not every cat wins a fight." Lavendersky meowed as she got to her paws, shaking her fur out and starting to pad out of the den, but her balance seemed...off. "This is why we gather all the herbs we can, because not every cat can be saved, but we have to try our bests so that there might me a chance they can be, no matter how slim." She meowed as she thought about it. "I have spoken too and heard of many cats who have seen the light of Starclan, but managed to return to the clans." "I haven't." Spiderpaw followed after his mentor. "It isn't fair that we should use so many herbs on a cat and try so hard to save them and yet we lose them anyway. What good does that do?" Lavendersky shook her head as she listened to him. "How would you know then? You would let a warrior die to injuries or illness, just because of how bad it appears? If so, then we would not have had so many great warriors. Dark Forest, if I had followed that logic, you would not be alive today, as your father was the most accident prone cat I have ever known!" She meowed as she listened to the clan, listened to the wind. |

Spiderpaw snorted. "I don't mean that! I just wonder why StarClan would watch us go through all that trouble to save our Clanmates only for them to take them anyway! Why do they give us false hope like that?"

Lavendersky watched the Warrior ceremony for a moment, listening to Spiderpaw with a flick of her ear. "Starclan does not always know who is going to join them next. They receive prophecies and then rely them to us, but not every death is predictable." She meowed, shaking her head.

Lavendersky sighed softly, "I used to believe the same thing, Spiderpaw." She meowed, her head tilted as if she was staring towards Spiritstar. "After Adderclan... I think we all came to learn many things, including Starclan. No one was able to predict it, to know what was to come. Even Starclan does not know it all, they just know more than we do."

"We are the first line to when something goes wrong, and keep aware of those around you. We do not know what our clanmates dream of, your mother knows that best."

Spiderpaw blinked thoughtfully. How were they supposed to stay vigilant if there's nothing to see? "What are the signs?" He looked at Lavendersky. "How would you know something was up?"
