Lavendersky settled where she was laying, no longer finding strength or need to speak. It was exhausting, keeping up with the chirping of young cats. Remain safe brother... do not follow those dark pasts any longer. I would like to see you once we are both in Starclan's light... she kept her eyes open, focusing on her shallow breathing. She refused to go before scolding that wayward apprentice on hers.
Sandspirit gave a small shrug, "I only know stories myself. He must have been something though, to sway mom back to Starclan. I hope she's doing well there now." She purred happily, knowing Nightsky was likely much happier with her mate beside her again.

Eaglenose glanced up as they approached the tree. He scanned the sky for any signs of birds coming in to land. As he watched, a bird he couldn’t recognize from this distance flitted into the branches. He flicked his tail over Poppyclaw’s ear and jerked his head to point where it had landed. “Let’s see what you got,” he said, and paced around to find a good spot to catch the bird once it came down. "Hmph. At least give me a challenge." Poppyclaw drawled, before he bunched his legs and nimbly leaped up into the first branch. From there, he followed the worn pawholds up the Sky Oak with quiet precision. Flarestorm may have been stronger in bulk, but Poppyclaw far excelled in climbing and dexterity. He tracked the branches, taking the more discreet route up towards the bird. He narrowed his eyes, signaling down for Eaglenose to spot him if the bird tried to fly down to the ground below. Eaglenose waved his tail in acknowledgement and waited for the next steps. He followed the old tom up the tree and cursed under his breath. He was an excellent climber. It only made him feel more embarrassed for his stumble earlier. He tried to push the envy out of his mind. His specialty was hunting and fighting, not climbing. He crouched low to the ground, taking up the position.

Clovertail nodded, her breaths slowing to match the rhythmic pace Dreamlily was grooming her fur. "I agree." She left it there for a few moments, remembering the sudden way Nettlesting had left the clan, and the state it had left them in, confusion, grief for their clanmates, anger. He couldn't have picked a worse time. "Skyclan is all I, we have known. The kinship of all the clans is all we have known, and living alone just seems too different to fathom." Clovertail was a fighter, and it wasn't a question on if she could survive alone but of why she would even want to. She didn't have any living family left, but her clanmates served as enough for her. "I think I just can't bear to see anyone else leave, or be forced to leave." Dreamlily admitted sadly. "I wish my father could have stayed. I know Spiritstar banished him so he could live a happy life with Opalmist after Cedarstar banished her but... but, I just wish she could have come here. Or, I don't know." She suddenly grew terse with anger and misery. "I wish Echowing had never revealed everything at the Gathering. I wish I didn't have to share my blood with a cat as cruel as her." She whispered, a rare flash of anger in her eyes even still for the cat she once called her sister. Clovertail didn't say anything, because she didn't know what to say. Clovertail wasn't a cat that others went to to vent, wasn't a cat that was good at reassuring others. So instead she leaned in closer, hugging her tail against Dreamlily's flank.

Frigidshard sighed with relief as they passed the border back into Skyclan territory. He glanced back making sure all the Shadowclan warriors were still following behind. "Camps not far away now. Hopefully we don't run into any border patrols... Spiderbite and I didn't really announce we were leaving."

Sandflower looked at Frigidshard skeptically. "You didn't tell the clan you were leaving, and you're bringing a ShadowClan patrol straight to camp? This should be fun." She glanced around as the pine trees gave way to leafy oaks and maples, soaring high above her and shook out her pelt. It was too bright here.

I… guess I just never thought about it, before he fell from the cliff in the Great Fire. I still hope he didn’t feel pain though, even if it makes me sound soft-hearted.” He glanced up at Sandspirit. “I hope Nightsky is doing well up there too. She was always kind to me.”

After a few moments, Poppyclaw was high enough to be above the general canopy of the forest. He readied himself for a lunge upon the branch, only to gasp and stiffen as an unrecognizable noise sounded from far across the forest. It was far enough back to decidedly be out of Skyclan, but loud enough to startle the bird away. Nearly falling from the branch, Poppyclaw held on quickly, growling as he scrambled to get back up onto the branch.
“What in Starclan was that?!” He hissed loudly down to Eaglenose. It had almost sounded like a scream or a screech of some kind, as if a cat was howling like a dog, or a dog was screeching like a cat. He bristled violently.
Dew)>>
Dreamlily accepted the silent show of comfort from Clovertail, taking in a breath and apologizing. “I’m sorry… I don’t usually get that angry, and it’s got nothing to do with you at all.”

Agreeing with Sandflower’s exclamation, Lionscorch gave the Skyclan Warrior a deadpanned look. “You didn’t say a word before leaving? I can only imagine the way Spiritstar or Whitesun will cuff your ears.” He rumbled, laughing a bit, completely unaware that both were currently gone. All he knew was that Lavendersky was dying, and that Skyclan surely was heartbroken about it.

It wasn't close, but it was still loud. From how far away it sounded, he would bet it came from ShadowClan - that didn't settle his nerves. ShadowClan was far, but not that far. Whatever made that noise could easily cross the borders and come here next. He turned and looked back up at Poppyclaw, bewildered. "I have no idea, but it didn't sound friendly." he shouted back, his tail fur lying flat again.

That was exactly what he had been thinking too, but he was too scared to say it out loud. Saying it out loud seemed too...real. Like if he said the name, suddenly they'd be mauled by a pack of them. His ears drew back slightly and he nodded. "I think it was." he agreed, his shoulders tensing. "They sounded far away, I don't think they're in the territory." he offered, though the hope he tried to put into his tone was weak.

Spiderbite paid no mind to the conversation between Frigidshard and the ShadowClan warriors. His tail kept tapping in his thinning patience at their slow progress. Cliffheart had to rest once on ShadowClan territory, once after the Thunderpath, and now he was struggling to make it up the boulders of SkyClan territory. Not to mention, he and Frigidshard had to help the ShadowClan warriors find paths around boulders that were too high for them to jump up.
Now, Spiderbite supported Cliffheart on one side. They had to pause long enough for Spiderbite to stuff more herbs and opportunistic cobwebs into Cliffheart's wounds when they opened from the strain of the climb. He glanced ahead. "There, the camp entrance." He flicked his ear to finally acknowledge the fact that he ran out without a word. "Frigidshard, you should go warn everyone we're coming."
Cliffheart panted heavily on the trek. He felt frustrated and humiliated that he needed Spiderbite's help to make a journey he made hundreds of times as an apprentice. He pinned his ears back when he heard SkyClan didn't know they were comin, but he was too winded to be able to speak. Hopefully Spiritstar will be thrilled by the sudden visit. Though, he found it odd that Lavendersky was dying and Spiritstar wasn't the one to send for him.

Once the prey was collected, he flicked his tail and opted to lead the way back. It was only about half-way back that he bristled sharply at the scent of Shadowclan cats mixed with Skyclan cats. "Frigidshard! You're back! Spiderbite's with you, right? Starclan, where did the two of you go?" Flarestorm lifted his ears as he bounded his way down to meet with the other tom who had just entered camp. He looked expectantly at the camp entrance as though waiting for Spiderbite to come strolling back through.
His commotion had caught the attention of some other cats. Cobrafang turned his head from where he was sitting near the nursery, while Wingpaw and Sunnypaw paused in their impromptu training match to quickly groom their fur as if they hadn't been messing around.

Frigidshard's eyes darted around camp as everyone suddenly seemed to be looking at him. He sighed before raising his voice. "Spiderbite and I have just returned from a journey to Shadowclan. Lavendersky is dying and it is only right for Cliffheart to be by his sister's side. Cliffheart is accompanied by a few Shadowclan warriors that will return to camp with him."
Skyflight stood up from her spot on the cliff and jumped down, "Senior warriors, disperse among the camp just as a precaution. Let's hope they respect Lavendersky's final wishes."

Spiderbite walked with Cliffheart through the camp entrance. "Almost there," he said with as much patience as he could muster. He didn't look up at his clanmates. He kept his focus on the promise he made to Snowdance. Cliffheart and the other ShadowClan warriors would be unharmed coming here and he was determined that Cliffheart see Lavendersky.
Splashecho jumped up with a hiss. "ShadowClan cats? Here? Now?" She bared her teeth when Cliffheart limped through the camp entrance. She was blind to his injuries. She only felt hate for him. I know what he's up to, she reminded herself. He's planning on taking over the Clans, Waspstrike warned me.
Flyingpaw's lips parted with shock hearing Frigidshard. She looked her parents. What were they going to do? They were leaderless!

Sandflower followed after Cliffheart, her head held high and scanning the camp. It would have been nice to know they were unexpected before leaving camp. Flarestorm's enthusiasm dwindled into a hint of panic, before the relaxed tom did his best to do what he did best. Distract, and act as charming as he could. He fixed his muzzle, allowing a saddened yet calm look to cross his face. "Nobody. Say. Anything. About the Twolegplace patrol. Nobody." He gritted through his teeth loudly enough that his Clanmates could hear him before the Shadowclan cats came in. The last thing they needed was Shadowclan getting wind of their horrible dilemma so quickly. As soon as he saw the patrol coming in, he quickly closed his jaws and remained steady.
"They shared a very close history." Cobrafang sighed, even as frustration filled his eyes. He padded up towards the rest of his Clanmates. "It's only fair that Lavendersky's wish be fulfilled. I... I knew she wasn't doing well, but I didn't expect it to come so soon." He mourned.
"No! She can't be!" Sunnypaw cried out, ears falling as sadness filled her eyes.
--
Lionscorch followed solemnly after Sandflower and Ferretclaw, his large shoulders nearly brushing the camp's entrance. His eyes widened as he looked around the Camp, having not been to Skyclan's camp before. He kept his demeanor calm though, silently doing as Cedarstar requested and standing guard for Cliffheart. He noticed all the stares quickly though, unnerved by the intensity of them.

Eaglenose took off after the other warrior, his neck fur bristled at the scent of possible intruders. He didn’t slow as they made the climb towards camp, already imagining sinking his claws into a ShadowClan warrior. He burst into camp behind Poppyclaw and slid to a halt, taking in the scene. Spiderbite was standing in a patrol of three ShadowClan warriors and Frigidshard. He recognized Cliffheart from ShadowClan and his claws came unsheathed against the rocky clearing.
“You brought four ShadowClan cats into our camp?” He growled, joining the other protestors.
