That's not the most descriptive title. Anyway, I remember the days when, on the old forums before they were demolished, horse ranch rps and that sort of thing were extremely popular. I'd like to do something similar. Some kind of laid back roleplay, probably romance based like the high school roleplays, with an emphasis on animals. So some kind of ranch, camp, boarding school, etc. Maybe something that has the animals, but is a bit more out there still. A bigger emphasis on dogs would be great, too. I love dogs. Anyone interested?

Perhaps some sorta school/training center where they pair service dogs with people.

Oooh, I also like that idea. XD
We could do both. A therapy place that does dogs AND horses! XD Or just the dogs, but I feel like more people like horses.

Mini horses or ponies are occasionally therapy animals, so both would work.

Well perfect then! ^.^
On an unrelated note, I briefly considered get one of my goats to be a therapy animal. XD But the dog was easier.
Anyway, shall we get started? Who wants to do what, and what do we need?

Agreed. I'm on my phone right now, so I can't do much right now. XD
Should we do service dogs? Like, all service dogs? Hearing, seeing, etc. I know there's more. XD

Sounds good to me. ^.^ So should it just be training, or should there be some puppies and breeding as well with, like, retired service dogs? I feel like that's something that sometimes happens.... And I think it could add more for dog characters, anyway.

Retired service dogs are usually adopted, either by the person they helped, the people who trained them as puppies, or someone else. But they do retire relatively early, since they gotta be at the top of their game while working.

Alright. I don't know where I got that from then. XD
Should we even bother with dogs that have puppies, then?

That sounds good. They could just be pets to some of the trainers. The other service dogs could also always be rescues, too. Not terribly common, but still. Should we have breed restrictions to the breeds that are typically used, or open to everything?

Now, for the mini horses and ponies, it would just be people coming out to ride them, right? Or would those be trained and sold, too?

I've seen that exact same seeing eye pony. It was adorable. Haha. I also saw a Clumber Spaniel as a service dog, which is why I asked.
Anyway, I agree with all that. And yes, hat would be great if you could write up the rules.

Here are the rules! Keep in mind, I do not have the most knowledge about any of this, so I just wrote down what I thought would be the basic rules needed. Anything else is fair game. So if you want to change/add anything, I will not have any objections. XD
Rules for Seeing Eye Dogs
~ A person must have official documentation confirming the need of a seeing eye dog. This can be given by a doctor or a patients therapist. ~ Every dog will be matched with their “partner” as best as possible. Because we wish to ensure a great bond between patient and dog, a person may try out a few of our graduates to see which one works best for the person. ~Only one dog may be used per person at one time. ~ All dogs must be brought back to the center twice a month for regular check-ups and equipment maintenance if needed. ~ If a person no longer has need for/does not want their seeing eye dog for any reason, they must return them to the center for them to help someone else. ~ If a person wishes to adopt their seeing eye dog, they must talk with one of the trainers and fill out the paperwork to make sure that the patient now has full ownership of their seeing eye dog.
Rules for Seeing Eye Ponies and Therapy Horses
~ A person must have official documentation confirming the need of a seeing eye/hearing dog. This can be given by a doctor or a patients therapist. ~ Every pony and horse will be matched with their “partner” as best as possible. Because we wish to ensure a great bond between patient and equine, a person may try out a few of our graduates to see which one works best for the person. ~ Only one seeing eye pony may be used per person at one time. ~ All ponies must be brought back to the center twice a month for regular check-ups and equipment maintenance if needed. ~ Only ponies may be taken from the center to live within family homes. ~ Therapy horses must not leave the center unless families have the proper accommodations for the horse they are working with. ~ If a person no longer has need for/does not want their seeing eye pony for any reason, they must return them to the center for them to help someone else. ~ If a person wishes to adopt their seeing eye pony or therapy horse, they must talk with one of the trainers and fill out the paperwork to make sure that the patient now has full ownership of their equine partner. A home inspection will also be needed before a family can take home their therapy horse to ensure the animal has proper living accommodations.

I do have a couple things. XD One: could it be changed to service dogs in general? I think it would be cooler if we could accommodate hearing, stroke alert dogs, etc. I'll look to see all the kinds of service dogs a little later. Secondly: having them bring the dogs back for checkups seems to be a bit much since a lot of times, service dogs can end up with people across the country. I was looking into it one time, and I remember that the rules were basically the person stays with the dog at the center for a couple weeks, then they go to their house and a trainer goes with for a couple more weeks to make sure they adjust, and then the trainer visits after that every once in a while for about six months before being done, unless future problems arrive.
Otherwise, I think it looks great! ^.^ Thanks! We also need a name...

Alright, so I wish to run some ideas by you and get them kinda... figured out a bit more before they get completely written out.
Puppies that have been cleared are to live with foster homes for six months before being brought back to the center for official training. While in the foster home, they are to be taken everywhere with the family to get them used to the world. We could also just make it that the puppies live with faculty to ensure that they are properly sensitized to the world and have their basics down. Should there even be kennels for the dogs, pr should they just go home with faculty at might? On top of this, should everyone be all around employees, pr should everyone specialize in something? Such as someone could specialize in working with the puppies, another with training the seeing eye dogs, etc.

That makes sense. Like I said, I don't know a whole lot about it, so I just wrote what I thought was logical. I can change the rules to your suggestions because they make more sense. I think the puppies and young dogs still in training should be taken home, just to ensure they can get use to a setting they'll be working in. As for the older dogs already trained and waiting to be paired up, they could probably stay at the center. After all, there might be more dogs than the staff can handle at home, even if they split the dogs up. As for staff, that's up to you. I think having specific jobs would make things easier. Like maybe have two regular trainers, and maybe two volunteer trainers for people who just want to come by and help out. There should be the full time staff positions that get paid, and then one or two volunteer positions to match. If that makes sense.

I think having volunteers will be perfect. XD Although I'm starting to think the pony idea may be too much, although not too difficult to add in, too.
Alright, so... we should also write up information about the center. Probably just how it looks, of course.
So I'm thinking I'll have, like, the manager that is in charge of most everything. And then we can have, like you said, a couple full time trainers, and then maybe the rest can be volunteers?

Yeah, I think that may be easier. XD Unless you really want to add ponies.
I'm also drawing a blank...
I'll probably have my manager and one volunteer, too.
So we need joining forms, rules, and an intro. Anything else?
