tired of dumbasses planting invasive species. im in a FB gardening group for my region and you’d be shocked at how often people confidently recommend highly invasive species. reminder to take an axe to your local bradford pear DUDE when we bought this house it had half a bradford pear (and i do mean half, must have split down the middle from an ice storm) and i'm itching to take it down. actually just asked my dad today if we can borrow his chainsaw. but like. @ previous owners why would you just leave half an invasive tree in your backyard omg

Bradford pears are notorious for horrendously weak branch structures that’ll break if you don’t constantly prune, thin and train the trees growth.

Bradford pears are notorious for horrendously weak branch structures that’ll break if you don’t constantly prune, thin and train the trees growth. yeah it was completely neglected. Tbh I’m pretty sure it just came up on its own rather than purposefully planted, because it’s got a dual trunk from the base, and you don’t typically see that in sapling purchased from a nursery because they’ll at least train a lead trunk. It also would not be the first invasive tree in my yard or my immediate neighbors’ that came up on its own and some dumbass just let it grow. Always in the worst spots, too. There’s two non-native mulberry on one fence line (neighbors side so I can’t chop them down) and a whole line of hackberries on the other. I’ve had to pour straight industrial strength herbicide down drilled holes of the hackberry stumps and they’re still kicking out shoots. My other neighbor has a bradford pear between our houses and two others have full grown chinese tallows. There’s also a nandina (highly invasive) that grew between cracks of the old shed pad in the backyard that someone let get pretty established before chopping, and now it keeps coming back from its little stump. Our yard is a war zone of bermuda, augustine, and dallis grasses. The neighborhood is full of newly planted Chinese pistache trees and vitex. It makes me so mad.

I don’t like it whenever people in fandom spaces try to emotionally manipulate people into interacting with them by trying to hold their content hostage. I’ve encountered this so many times, and it puts a pit in my stomach every time. I understand how disheartening it can be to work so hard on something only for it to slide under the radar and feel unappreciated, but I think some people take their disappointment too far and start blaming people when really I don’t think it’s anyones fault. But too many times I’ve seen people make disparaging comments about themselves, their works, other people, picking fights, threatening to delete everything if they don’t get a certain amount of interaction (and often times going through with it) and so on. I’ve even seen someone hold their fanfiction hostage for money only updating whenever the amount was met, only to end up ghosting everyone, later deleting their account, making a new one years later to say they were above fanfiction, and deleting again. It’s just really uncomfortable to me. I’m going through a hard time. Fandom is a space for me to relax and try to rewind. But every time I start seeing stuff like this, I know something’s inevitably about to go down and I hate it… It puts a lot of stress on me, because I can only do so much to support the content I enjoy but I’m just one person. I can’t handle being repeatedly told I don’t care about someone, I think their work is bad when I don’t think that at all, waking up to rants, having the works deleted as “punishment” for not caring enough. It’s too much. That’s not what I’m here for.

Really, starting to consider just giving up on seeing myself with an AMAB person that also just sees themselves as their assigned gender. Because, boy, does that create issues. May not extend to a bi or pan guy but idk. So, some context, I have a friend that is a straight guy, I know this guy likes me and confessed to me before but I was very uninterested. (Just got out of my own breakup then and I am now aware we would not be compatible in certain ways. Not understand the asexuality umbrella being one of the issues but I won’t get into that.) But to the generalization. And spoilers for death, incessant ramblings,, anxiety, cars, etc. A friend’s sister died yesterday in a car accident. A very violent one that sent my anxiety into a momentary spiral mentally as I have very poor anxiety related to cars. In which this friend‘a only response to my reasonable anxiety after telling him the cause of death was: It’s unlikely to happen.) Yeah, like that’s supposed to calm my anxious mind. It’s unlikely to happen that a truck is going to collide with the driver’s side at any time making driving such a dangerous thing that I have to do as public transit is basically a myth with where I go to college and live. I panicked and clutched my wheel when other cars were at a stop sign for fear they’d run it and just crash into me already. But to circle back to the non-spoilered part of the message, the response was unhelpful to me. Which is likely also indicative based on what he’s mentioned in the past. That the emotional side of an issue doesn’t occur to a man and solving the problem is the only thing that does occur, even if the man is reminded to consider the emotional side of things. In which, anxiety doesn’t neatly fall into such parameters due to it being an emotionally vigilant response where slapping a bandaid on it doesn’t help. And if all guys of this parameter are going to be like this, why should I bother? Ignoring the fact I kinda need to bother since I’m not out in any way to my parents and that isn’t going to change anytime soon. (My ex is AMAB but also non-binary and understood my concerns. They weren’t exactly going to listen to my rambling but did advise me to see my counselor. I don’t necessarily like her and I feel her response is going to be pointless, especially if she does the whole “If this was your client, what would you do?” When I’m not in counseling mode right now nor would I want to do that, especially as such a phrased question encourages intense self-loathing and aggression.)

I think I ate something that came in contact with shellfish because I’m breaking out in hives and rashes. At least my throat didn’t swell shut this time.
Stupid food allergy! Will go to the doctor tomorrow.

I am not taking the recent Star spoilers as well as I should. It's genuinely affecting my passion for Warrior Cats, and everyday life to an extent. I don't know how to go about this...

Still itchy but benadryl took the edge off. Sadly I can’t go to the doctors until Monday due to work and Primary Care closing before my shift ends. There’s no point in going to the ER for this.
Food allergies suck. And not being able to afford an epi-pen anymore sucks. The price went from $80 to over $300 (and even more uninsured) a few years ago. I don’t even bother filling that prescription these days.

I hate how I'm so sensitive to negative things about me, yes I know I'm not the smartest person and I know my siblings are joking around but why do they always have to call me a dumb @$$ when they saw my medical paper. I decided to take a test when I was in the hospital it was a IQ test and they said I was below average. Well sorry that I can't solve 8 x 48 mentally in 5 seconds. I was good on some subjects but failed at others, but it's annoying hearing my siblings say "haha you're a dumb @$$!".

why am i getting political ads for completely different provinces on youtube For the same reason I get ones for North Carolina but none at all for South Carolina (which I don’t want to see anyways). YouTube assumes some states or provinces are all the same.

I’m really into insects, (especially grasshoppers), and I keep seeing people in my area saying that my favorite species of grasshopper (Eastern Lubber Grasshoppers) are invasive, when they aren’t at all! Sure, they’re a pest that eat leaves and plants and stuff. But they were here first, and we should really respect that. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t protect your plants from being destroyed, but stop spreading lies about my favorite bug!!!!
