vent thread 4 all

I know you're trying to be helpful, but a lot of times people come to this thread just to vent and aren't necessarily seeking advice. It's okay if you have something that's particularly helpful/relevant to their specific issue (especially if you know the person), but otherwise, it's probably not necessary to give advice every time someone posts on this thread.

@echostrike I already know from my doctor that these are chronic headaches (migraines too) in my case and that they run in my family (my mother has them and so did my maternal grandfather and paternal grandmother). The only thing that helps me on a medical level are pain killers (and the already mentioned drinking of water/going outside for fresh air but these are not fully helpful).

Also, as saint already said, this is a vent thread not an advice thread and while some people on here might be looking for advice on certain topics, they'll usually either let people know that or it's automatically becoming a topic of discussion based on the individual issue getting posted about on here in the first place either resonating with other people or being particularly concerning. In my case, I myself was not looking for advice and instead just simply wanted to vent about my chronic headaches once again.

Being an adult sucks I wish I was 6 again playing nintendogs on my grandpas couch watching afv and there was bomb pops in the freezer. I wish there wasn't anything after death but I'm too scared not to belive in hell. But! I do have a new job to look forward too. Hopefully that will help.

Of course if anyone corrects my mother on anything (such as leaving plastic ornaments on the freaking stove), she'll get needlessly verbally (and in the past, physically) violent, so we all just have to go along with it.

So for Christmas Eve my mother has declared we're watching Thomas the Tank Engine because I used to LOVE that show when I was like 5 years old, and anyone who wants to grow up are "entering a world full of big meanies" (her own words). I might have to take up drinking at this rate. (Half joking.)

Also she constantly talks behind my back. Just last night when we returned home and I put my burgundy coat away, she remarked how good I looked in it. Because of how small the house is and how sounds echo around it, I heard her a few moments later ranting how I looked like "the f word" (not going to repeat it here obviously).


Seriously, people who compliment someone and then the moment they turn away, they go on to insult them about that very thing, are absolute cowards in my mind.

I'm really sorry you have had to deal with that.

But yeah if my mother knew half the stuff I am / am into (non-binary, into games like Project Zomboid, 7 Days To Die, Stardew Valley, etc. and into books like Warriors), she'd throw me right into conversion therapy. :/

Yeahhh, after hearing my mother on the phone talking to her sister about how one of my cousins has come out as gay, and my mother badgered her to throw him out onto the street or get him properly converted to Christianity and repent for his sins... yeah, I'm definitely going to continue to pretend to be "normal" (as she would put it) around her. x_x

Why is it people will like, call out racism, everybody knows what racism is, and that it's wrong, but then turn around and parrot antisemitism without even thinking about it and then try to defend themselves by saying it was a joke? Or just not take it seriously?
