I think it would be fun to have a mage gang based in Mage territory, but they are in Sanctum on business dealings. Or we could have it the opposite way around. I literally do not care. I really want to explore mage territory so it could be interesting to have them based in Mage territory.
Maybe they are primarily Mage with a few others in there.)

{ I think it would be fun to do Mage territory too. I'm planning on the prophecy crew going there at some point, but I think the gang being based there would be fun. Them being in Sanctum for right now would make sense given that a lot of people are there for the Summit. Then we can let them join in the cult battle and let them head back to Mage territory later.
Harley and Maddox are hybrids anyways, so I guess they wouldn't be entirely Mage anyways. I'm still good either way though. Maybe they could have connections to gangs in the other Families that we can explore in Sanctum. }

Aw, I just realized that my Al is an orphan of sorts too, but in a different way than your two boys. XD Sorry, I didn't mean to steal your thunder. Her dad is alive, but she only met him once and doesn't really care to know him much anymore. XD I guess orphans are good people to put in a gang.)

{ xD I don't mind. We're all about troubled people in this RP. Tbh, a gang of orphans who become a family sounds like something right up my alley. I'm also still working out the details of my characters' backstories so *shrug* I've got a lot of characters with family issues, maybe I should give everyone else a chance and just have them be in a gang because they feel like it. }

Question: do Mages make the cores of their wands?
Also, now this is all I can think about:
Someone who wants to be be in gang just cause walks up and is like, "I would like to join this gang."
"Well, are you dark and tortured? Are both your parents dead? How many times have you almost died of starvation?"
"I mean.... I just wanted to join just cause..."

Nope, that is perfect! Basically, I was trying to figure out how she would have gotten her hands on a core given her background, but if there are blank cores out there for the taking.... That's perfect for my needs. Thanks!! EDIT: Ok, Al is done. I'm happy with the way she turned out. Might add more later, but know I have a working base so we can RP with your new babies. EDIT EDIT: That is so true. XD I love that gif so much.)

{ Aw, I love her <3 This is going to be very fun indeed. I'll try to post some facts for my characters soon too, but a full fledged form is doubtful (because we all know how I like to procrastinate). Do you want me to post a starter? Also, what do we want to have them up to right now?}

Thanks! I just wanted to write so bad so I went all out with a form. I am dying for some action right now, Star! Can we have them up to mischief? Maybe they are raiding something and getting into violence. Doesn't matter to me, I just want Al to smash something. XD)

{ I could go for some violence too, tbh. Let's have them in the middle of a raid and they run into another Family's gang and start a fight. If you want, you can start the scene since you're probably going to be quicker than me about it. Though I understand if you don't feel like it, just let me know : )
I also realize that it will probably be helpful if I have some character info up first too. Um, just to help start things Harley and Maddox have been on the streets since they were young too. Harley is the more outright aggressive and angry/bitter one, but I imagine he's a bit of a self-conscious, uncertain dork deep down. Maddox appears a lot softer since Harley acted as his "shield" of sorts most of their life, but he can still easily commit acts of violence. He takes a more Robin-Hood-esque approach to things though and generally leans towards pettier crimes. He's also the gang's main medic. Bea is the newest member and everyone's still kinda iffy about her, especially because she seems suspicious and is definitely on the run from something. She also had a tendency to up and vanish at random times. }

I'm so down for violence. I unfortunately can't type anything up tonight due to have an early morning quiz and I need to go to sleep or I'll be dead. However, I will start something after that quiz in the morning. Sorry, for wanting to do something and then stalling. I didn't realize how late it had gotten. Starchaser Let's do this thing. Ok, I set it up for the twins to came in whenever they want. Also, I just pieced together some words from you chart to make that insult so it's probably SOOO not correct. XD)
Altalune "Al" Abernathy “And When I breathed, my breath was lightning." - Black Elk
♤ ⤐ ϟ The Bat Wielding Manic ϟ ⬷ ♤
"Batter up!"
Cement and glass shattered in every direction, accented by the flash of blue lightning off the surface of a baseball bat. The screams of those inside the building rose above the uproar on the outside and it was only a few heartbeats before the dust cleared and her friends were streaming in. They clasped her on the back as they ran past with weapons of all sorts in hands.
Al inspected the hole she had created in the side wall with delighted eyes. Anima crackled in the air around it, only to fizz out without a channel or direction. Leather gloves covered in sigils had protected her hands from the aftershock of the explosive blast, but they felt jumpy nonetheless. Lightly, the gang member stepped over the rubble of the destroyed wall and sauntered into the main area of the warehouse.
"You, b -" A man to her right coughed and made to run at her. He swung wide, blood running down his face. Al expertly dodged his sloppy punch and reared her bat back slowly.
The crunch of bone and teeth against wood was much quieter than her earlier swing, but even more satisfying. Al was already walking away by the time the man slumped to the ground.
She yawned. They never put up much of a fight. Stepping over bodies of mages effected in the blast and even some downed by her family, Altalune made her way through the settling dust to the room that housed the merchandise. Their informant told them that the goods were kept in the center room; she would be needed to bust though the metal walls surrounding the vault. That was after any sigils were deactivated, but that wasn't her area of expertise.
The loud click of her heeled boots was drowned out over the crack of bone and Anima in the enclosed space fo the hallway. At the end, the familiar form of the twins drew her attention.
"Well, well, well. If it isn't the local pests."
A wide, sinister grin spread over her face. Stopping in her tracks, Al looked over her shoulder, bubblegum pink hair partially obscuring her view. Even without looking, she knew that it was the head of the [insert cool name here] family, but she still took her time in looking him over.
Devland was the type of mage that many seemed too underestimate. Despite his stunning red hair and green eyes, the man was unbecoming, unassuming. There was nothing particularly intimidating about him, but Altalune knew better. Great sadism lived beneath his charming smile and gentle voice. She had firsthand seen him reduce grown mages to a pile of tears and blood and feces, all the while humming gentle lullabies in their ears. Those that followed him tended towards more of the same though Al knew there were some trapped under his finger.
Altalune looked down at her black painted finger nails as she turned to face the horde of [insert cool name here] in front of her, "Oh, Devland. Did you come to see how real mages conduct their business?"
The mage chuckled a bit and started forward, slow and easy. Al stood her ground. She gripped her bat tighter when he stopped within five feet of her. Perfect swinging distance if he tried to catch her off guard.
"Not quite, my dearest. I'm afraid that you are interfering with our job. You see, those cores belong to us."
A single finger lifted to her mouth as a jewel studded tongue snaked out between her lips mockingly. The black of her pointed finger nail was stark against the pink of her tongue. Her voice was poisonously sweet and his eyes narrowed comically on the offensive display, "Finder's keepers."
Devland gave her one more sweeping glance, clicking his tongue as if disappointed, "Such a shame. You would have fit right in with us, Altalune Abernathy. Myston." A man lifted his wand at her and said a harsh syllable.
Force.
Al's eyes went wide. She barely had time to lift her bat in protection before she was flying across the hallway. The woman hit the ground with a sickening thud, pain exploding in every part of her body. Her left shoulder, the direct point of impact, shattered underneath her weight forcing a scream from her throat. She rolled over a few times before stopping closer to the lip on the hallway where the twins had been only moments earlier.
Head swimming and shoulder destroyed, Al fought the urge to blackout. She might have been dead if the shield spell on her bat had activated even a fraction of a second later. She reached out to find it, blood in her eyes from where she had hit her forehead, but it was no where to be found.
Sil haˈerënt grerˈgirs! I'll kill them.... She spat blood to her right and looked up through the gore on her face to see Devland approach. He smiled down at her as he held up her bat.
"Looking for this?"

XD I'm not impressive at all but I appreciate the words of affirmation. Also, the fact that even your dictionary doesn't have these words anymore is killingggg me. XD But those are all lovely!!! { Oooohh, I'm the idiot xD That was my attempt at the "universal" language. The Mage-specific language is what I was trying to figure out how you got that from lol. A complete misunderstanding on my part. My brain is just... like that.
Anyways, now I am officially working on a response. Just so we're on the same page, is our gang in Sanctum right now, or Mage territory? I assumed Mage territory because they're stealing cores, but just wanted to be sure. And they've had a run-in with another Mage gang, it looks like?
Also, I wanna figure out the hierarchy of our gang. I assumed we'd have some NPC members running around, but I was wondering who we should make as leader and all.
Also also, for a name idea, what if we just had it be something in the Mage language? ˈR͡wioz͡ʻ r̀e means "our family" literally, which could be kind of cool and make sense for them. Or I thought about doing something with a sacred creature to one of the deities. Like Hells Angels, but fantasy-ified. I think Alaaella or Flaran would make sense for their "patrons" of sorts. I would just need to figure out some symbols associated with them maybe.
Honestly, I haven't thought much of Mage insults, which is a shame. I have a few curses and exclamations, but not really insults. I love insults, I'm just not sure what would fit for mages. Insults are generally borne from negative cultural associations and taboos. As a whole, Mages respect academia, magical prowess, mental strength, and the like, but I'm still unsure. I guess a lot of their insults would be about lack of intelligence and power.
For curses and exclamations, I've got a few. Lilah says "stars above" a lot, which is basically the Mage-equivalent of "good heavens," but this one's pretty versatile. Can be used to show surprise, annoyance, fear, and pretty much anything tbh. It's a really light one because Lilah isn't much of a curser, she's too soft. "Anaeida's mind" is similar to "oh my god."
Literally saying "curses" counts because it's essentially alluding to bad/dark magic. Enchanters could technically "curse" objects (ie give them bad effects), although it's banned. "Burn the stars" is a relatively new one I thought up, and basically means the person is swearing at the gods for bad circumstances or whatever. Voraxa is a grim-reaper-esque figure in the Mage religion, so I could probably do something with that too. Asking Voraxa to damn someone would be a condemnation of that person/their actions. "Muddled" is a universal way of negatively referring to hybrids. Idk what else. I'm not really good at stuff like this, tbh. }

{ mossecho You're good, we've all been busy! Amber hasn't made a Crispen reply yet, so I'm not sure about Alex. Honestly though, it's been such a long time since we've done anything with that interaction, it might be best to move it along. I don't want to step over anyone else, but it might be easier to get things going again if you did another post. Especially since I didn't really give Cris or Lys much room for interaction in my response, but I think there would be enough for Alex. I don't know though, it's up to you.
You could always have Lu go talk to Avani/Clari/Zane/Redis/Gabriel crew though, since she's not really stuck anywhere. Or, if you like, you can join Mage gang with me and Shoot, but idk if you wanna make a whole other character for that. You could take my boy Maddox since he's already made though. Don't know if you wanna do that either though. }

Oh well you see, I didn’t realize that was the universal language either so it’s also a misunderstanding on my part. XD Hmmm, well you see (part 2), I didn’t think that through hard enough it seems. I put them in Mage territory with the core thing. Darn me and my inability to thoughtfully think ahead. I guess they are just in Mage territory right now??? We can always move them and I can always rewrite that to make more sense. I figured that the other gang could be pretty much be whatever we want so it can be all mages or a gang with different families mixed together. As for the leader, I honestly don’t know. Perhaps the leader can be a random character that doesn’t like to show his face that much or it can be one of the boys. Al doesn’t seem much like the leader type to me. Maybe more of aright hand man that does the dirty work. I don’t mind it one of the boys is the main leader or I can make another character. Or Moss can have the leader. Doesn’t matter much to me. I really like ˈR͡wioz͡ʻ r̀e. I was thinking about finding a name that meant family so I think it is perfect. Hmm, yes that is a shame. Every language needs to have a moderate to obscene amount of ways to insult someone. I’ll have to use some of those though cause Al will need them. )

[[ Starchaser: Actually, it just so happens to be that I have a side character from a past RP that never actually happened so... I could join in with the Mage stuff. I'll have to change him a bit (he was based on Alex and I don't want to write Alex 2.0), but maybe he could go in? I don't think he'd make a great leader, so that role is still open, but idk
Also: love the language stuff! You two go ahead w all the mage language stuff because, well... I have no ideas xD honestly since Alex is my main, I've only thought about vampires' language. But @shootforthestars, I 10000% agree that every language needs insults! they are the most important part ]]

{ @shootforthestars Alrighty, here's my boy Harley, sorry for the wait. I made a few assumptions about the scene, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, and I tried to leave it open to take wherever we want at the end. I'm really looking forward to this group : ) This is super weak because, despite my own hankering for violence and fighting, I am feeling completely uncreative and unmotivated today. That, and I'm still working out everyone's voice. I have no idea where I was trying to go though.
I'm angry because I really wanted a strong opening full of the over-the-top aggression and cynicism I know he would have, but... this is what you get. I just can't, I'm very not energized and I really didn't want to keep you waiting for long. Sorry, Harley, you deserve better than this (and so does everyone else). I genuinely hate this post so much, and I know I always say that, but this one is really bad. But I still hope you can do something with this mess.
As for our previous conversation, it's my fault for never clarifying. My thought was that pretty much everyone is bilingual, speaking both their native tongue and the universal Veuxdelian language, since they kinda all need a way to communicate with the other Families. Some might speak primarily the universal language, while others their native one. Those living in Sanctum and closer to it probably speak the universal language mostly, while those who never really travel might only know the basics of it.
Hmm, neither of my lads strike me as the leader type either. I think having an NPC who doesn't show their face much is fine, that's pretty true to real life honestly. And multiple people can play around with them.
Okay, sounds good
Also, the new insult at the end I put means "nightmare-born." I have barely touched on the idea, but Mages believe an all-powerful, omni-everything being dreamed the entire universe. Bad things that happen are apparently the result of her having nightmares. Calling someone nightmare-born implies is basically saying they are the Worst and shouldn't exist/are a mistake. I'm also very unsure of the current name for Mage hell, but it means "the endless deep," which I do like. A lot of the words don't have exact translations in the dictionary for this language, so that's why so many of them end up being unnecessarily complex and long. I've gotta come up with some weird way of saying something that should be one word As for the rest of the curse words and insults, I'm uncertain right now. Feel free to propose ideas though and I will keep thinking as well.
mossecho Sounds good to me You're welcome to just write a post up once you've got your character sorted out and worry with forms later. That's what I always do, oops. I think I'll leave the leader as a sort of vague character everyone can do stuff with, at least until someone has a more solid idea for them.
Gotta say, I've really been enjoying language stuff. Although I do hate that I'm coming up with it so late. Oh well. }

Starchaser Oh good gravy, that was a good reply! XD Even on your unmotivated days you never fail to impress me with your writing. I throughly enjoying reading your replies and that will never change. Everyone is such a good writing in this good and I love seeing everyone push each other to improve.
Everyone being bilingual does make perfectly good sense. I imagine the universal language is a little like english in our world today. Not everyone speaks it, but it is universal enough that you can pretty much go anywhere and find someone that is able to communicate with you.
I think an NPC is fine too. It allows us to do more with the character later down the line if we so desire.
I've never heard of Cosa Nostra. Now I'm going to go look them up. XD
YES! I love that connotation for that insult. It is potent for a lot of reasons. Also "the endless deep" is super cool. I know mages are big into astrology, but that gives me oceanic vibes. Could you imagine hell being a state of constant drowning? Never knowing what way is up or down, never being able to take a breath... Dang.
We should absolutely include the group with the gang. Maybe Lilah stayed with them for a bit before she realized they were a gang? XD I could see myself doing that. I would be fine until the first raid and everyone was expecting me to grab a random bowling pin to beat another gang member to death. XD I would be the world's lamest gangster.)
Altalune "Al" Abernathy “And When I breathed, my breath was lightning." - Black Elk
♤ ⤐ ϟ The Bat Wielding Manic ϟ ⬷ ♤
In her time as ˈR͡wioz͡ʻ r̀e, Al had taken plenty of hits and suffered from many wounds. It was rare for whole sections of bone to be shattered, however. As she lay on the floor, panting through the pain, she was reminded of the nights on the streets. Beatings were easy come by in the dark alleys of the red light district and she had strayed too far in search of food. She had been desperate and stupid and hopeless. She still remembered the smell of the large man that had found her digging through the trash of a local brothel.
Cigars and alcohol and sweat. He had left her for dead, bruised and bloody.
Altalune ground her teeth to crush down a furious scream when Devland lifted her bat up to her forehead. His smile, so similar to that disgusting man all those years ago, brought forth a snarl from the injured woman. As the bat crackled with the blue lightning that she had come to love and adore, she spit at his feet.
"Go to Ech͡nˈio̯tsic͡s, you - "
She didn't have a chance finish before a powerful blast swept the room into chaos. She bit back a scream and ducked her head reflexively. When she lifted her head, a stupid grin split her face. Anaeida's mind, who did that?!
It wasn't all that surprising to see the more aggressive half of the set standing behind her with his hockey stick raised. The mage chuckled through the pain and called out to him, "You almost took my Voraxa condemned head off, Harley! DO IT AGAIN!"
Her scream was barely heard over the onslaught of the ensuing fight. Al made to slink off with her good arm to avoid the flying rubble and crackling Anima, but she only made it a few feet before Harley's limp body came crashing past her. Burn it all to Ech͡nˈio̯tsic͡s! She watched silently, fuming that the pain was now creating waves of nausea.
She rolled over to her side and eased herself into a more comfortable position. Ripping her black tank from the bottom to create a strip, she dipped a point finger nail into the blood dripping to the floor and started to draw hasty runes. It was risky with such an unstable medium, but she needed the pain to go away and quickly. Well aware of the words being exchanged just feet away from her, Al wasting no time on enchanting the piece of cloth. She examined her work.
Relief. Stability.
The simplest sigils she would think of under the circumstances. They would have to work until she could receive real medical attention. She grabbed the piece of cloth in her mouth and looped in under her arm pit. With a wrap and a tug, it was tied in place and instantly she was able to breath again. Her shoulder was still broken, it was still unusable, but at least she could think straight through the mild ache.
When the air dampened and the rumble started to quake in anticipation, Al felt the stupid grin return to her face. She looked to her left just in time to see the first volley of earth. Madds, you sly nightmare.
Altalune's bubblegum colored hair wiped around her face when she noticed Harley's approach. He was just as bloodstained as she was, maybe more so after confronting Devland head on. Her bat was a sight for sore eyes and after pulling herself up with a grunt, she reached out with her good hand to take it. The wood purred against her battered hands, making her chuckle, "Of course! 'Tis but a flesh wound."
The wrapping (glowing and sputtering with her shoddy work) around her arm and shoulder suggested otherwise, but she wasn't going to complain. Not when there were familiar faces unconscious all around her.
She used Harley's loose clothing to aid in her effort of getting back on her feet. her head was swimming and still ringing, but with a shake and spit, she would be fine. Using her bat as a crutch, she surveyed the layout. Maddox was still flinging rubble and boulders at the [cool gang name], but he was already looking fatigued. And then there was -
"Watch out!" Al pushed Harley back as the mage that had hit her earlier came from nowhere and swung. He went tumbling past, but turned on his heels quickly, spell already charged.
Al swung her bat to deflect the first spell. The barrier spell on her bat made quick work of the fire that shot from the tip of the man's - Myston, if she remembered correctly - wand. Smoke filled her vision for a moment too long and he was on her before she had another chance to react. He grabbed the collar of her biking jacket to toss her, but Al swept at his ankles with her bat.
It connected with and Myston released her as he crashed to the ground, left ankle shattered like he had shattered her shoulder. Before he could get back up, a heeled boot made friends with his nose and the man screamed.
Altalune grinned and brought her bat up over her head, "Say hello to Chim͡mquz͡mˈaec͡t for me, ok?" And as his eyes went wide and her bat crackled once more with that all too familiar lightning, Al said, "Batter up."
There wasn't much to walk away from. She turned back to her family and clasped him on the shoulder, "Was that good enough for you, pretty boy?"

@shootforthestars Well, thanks for the encouragement, but I will choose to remain disappointed in it. However, I do agree with you on the rest of it. I love reading everyone's posts and new ideas. Anyways, I just wanna say I already love our little gang and their dynamics and can't wait to explore them more I will probably let mossecho get in a response first so they can join in the action, unless I get a good burst of inspiration/motivation.
Yeah, I think that's a good summation. I imagine it would be a constructed language meant for international use, like Esperanto.
I think an NPC is fine too. It allows us to do more with the character later down the line if we so desire.
Gosh, I spent hours looking at different gangs and how they work when we decided to do this. I guess the main draw of roleplay (and just any escape from reality) for me will always be getting to experience a life I couldn't have otherwise. Hence why Lilah is rich and gifted and important.
I was very proud of that one myself. I just really like trying to come up with stuff like that in general. It's fun seeing all the differences between the Families. Okay, I just might have to take that idea. Originally, I pictured it as a sort of black hole/void thing where one constantly experiences their soul being destroyed, but never completely so you can continue to suffer. I didn't think too far on it yet though. I think it being more ocean-based would be cool, especially since I've been trying to find a way to focus on stuff other than astronomy in Mage religion, cause I think Asteriae will also have a very cosmic-based religion and I don't want them to be too close to each other. I gotta research more.
Okay, yeah, Lilah would definitely be the type to not realize a gang was a GANG gang. Considering she was about 15 when she ran away, I could see our gang taking pity on her, especially since it seems like a lot of them joined young and it's got an actual family vibe. Maybe one of the gang members (probable Al or whoever Moss makes, so we can have character connections to non-NPCs) found her in their "territory" or whatever, but decided to take her in because she's a naive kid. And Lilah definitely was very dumb and bad at street survival cause like... She might not have been treated that well by her family, but she was still in the lap of luxury most her childhood. Yet she was really out there thinking life on streets would be better than living in a mansion and never knowing what it was like to struggle, just cause her family kinda sucked. Like, you go from having everything you need to penniless and on the streets, you're gonna have some problems. She probably would not have made it more than a few months alone, max.
I do think her relationship could have been really interesting with them though. If Lilah were a little rougher around the edges, it probably would make sense for her to have ended up in a gang or something. It is people searching for a sense of belonging that tend towards groups like that. Also, I'm assuming she wouldn't have known how to remove her own House marking at that point, so it would probably be relatively easy to tell her background, even just based on her mannerisms and such. Our gang would probably be confused how she ended up there.
Also, same Shoot xD Verbal arguments make me go "nope," so I wouldn't be a very cool gang member, even if I like to think otherwise. Lilah wouldn't either. She is magically powerful, so she could probably survive well enough, but she wouldn't want to do anything gangs do. I could see her tolerating the stealing since it's necessary, but she wouldn't have it in her to seriously hurt/kill someone except in very dire circumstances. }

I love them all as well. I’m a sucker for violence and angst in fiction.... something must be wrong with me. XD Oh well, me and half the planet right? The idea of an endless deep ocean is honestly terrifying to me for some reason. Much more than traditional depictions of hell where there is fire and brimstone, but it’s probably cause I’m not a huge fan of the ocean in general. I like swimming in it, but I’ve only ever been in once or twice so it’s not my expertise. Where I live it’s been in the mid 70’s lately and only just dropped into the 60 -50 region so we don’t have much opportunity to experience anything other than hot and humid. XD So yeah, endlessly drowning perhaps in an literal depiction of your sins.... Ouch. Not for me. Lilah accidentally joining a gang: Our gang trying to figure out how a obviously well-to-do, infant child with family issues ended up in an orphan centered, psychotic gang: Oh but seriously that would be amazing. Even though it might not work super great with her characterization, could you imagine the possibles when they run into each other again? XD Al: Hey, aren’t you that rich kid that joined the gang for like, 5 seconds? That’s right! Harley, Madds, you remember her? She hurled chunks when I busted that dude’s face in that time! It was awesome!!)

{ @shootforthestars I am very sorry my reply is taking a while, I'm still kind of in a not-feeling-anything phase, but I have at least started working on one. It's just... nowhere close to being done and taking a while.
Something must be wrong with me too then (: I just really like angst, okay? My characters will never be allowed to have happy or even decent backstories. Angst and suffering for all of them. The amount of terrible things I still want for Lilah borders on the point of ridiculousness, but I think I can pull it off. Also, I like the fictional violence too. I, ehm, have no clue why. Perhaps because there is something cathartic about it. Like, being able to confront danger and the inevitability of death in a controlled way. Whatever, I'm not going to dwell on it, I am looking away.
I'm not that scared of the ocean, I spent like my entire childhood by it and in it, but I do understand the fear of it. And I do agree it's pretty terrifying, I just also find it intriguing and relaxing at the same time. I definitely like the idea of Mage hell being very unlike most other depictions of it. I just have to figure out all the lore behind it now.
Please xD I want Lilah to have been in a gang now. Maybe she even got their insignia as a tattoo. Mages already use tattoos heavily in mainstream culture, so I could see her not thinking of it as a big deal. Then they take her on their first raid after she's done almost dying and she's like "Oh, cool, I am becoming part of the family now, they're taking me to do a group activity " and then... well, you know.
I am not 100% certain how she would end up leaving though, cause I also feel like she's too awkward to leave, but she also definitely wouldn't have participated in any of the more violent acts. Tbh, they probably would have kicked her out for being a bit of a burden (ya couldn't take her to any raids because she would be afraid to hurt anyone and just be a sitting target), but I also feel like the gang wouldn't be able to bring themselves to toss a kid back on the streets when they all went through that. There would probably be a happy medium of them having Lilah help them unwittingly commit crimes because she's really good with magic and has her House marking. So she can just kinda help them break into places and whatever, and they're like "wow, Lilah, you're so helpful" while the sounds of someone getting beat up play in the background. And Lilah is in the dark for so long about all the shady stuff she is directly contributing to. I mean, Lilah really isn't that stupid, but I could see younger her being more naïve and in denial because she so desperately wants to feel wanted. And this whole idea really gives me dark comedy vibes that I just find hilarious.
I still don't know how she would leave exactly though. I mean, realistically it probably would just be because she can't really stomach any gang activities, but I know she would still feel guilty about it. Lilah hates leaving people because she's got such a strong fear of abandonment herself, and she would probably regard the gang as something of a family at that point. Perhaps the Lancasters track her down not too long after and the gang really doesn't want trouble with their nation's most prominent/wealthiest/government-involved family, so they just kinda hand her over and be like "have fun being rich, pls don't tell your family everything about us and what we do" and that's the end of it since she looses contact with them.
I imagine their relationship would basically have been like: Lilah: Hey, guys, look at this cute stray cat I found. His name is Whiskers c: Al, drenched in the blood of someone she just obliterated: Wow, that is so cool. Can you maybe help us kill some people now?
Also. I had an idea. What if Lilah and someone in the gang were unknowingly related? Lilah's mum's side of the family is essentially a long line of illegitimate children who go on to have their own forbidden relationships and problematic lifestyles (I think literally only her great-grandparents didn't do anything scandalous and have multiple relationships). Not to mention they have the worst luck of probably any Mage family. It wouldn't surprise me if one of their kids ended up orphaned and in a gang. They would probably never have a way of finding out, but it's whatever. }

(Personal stuff has been happening and the semester is almost over. For me, it ends early December. I'll try and get something up with Cris and Lys before then, but I can't promise anything.
Also, happy Thanksgiving, everyone!)
