The young trainer had only just woken up that morning, the nerves from the night before still weighing on her. She moved her feet off the bed and grabbed her bag instinctively, as though in a hurry. The full length mirror before her showed she was nowhere near dressed for today, instead residing in pink Clefairy pjs something she would never be caught dead in outside her own room. She heard her mother preparing breakfast quietly in the floor below with Snubbull. Her father might have already left for the day to begin working in the police unit in town. He was going to miss her big debut most likely, which of course was a bit sad to think about but she wouldn't let that put a damper on today's events. She quickly went about getting dressed, quick on her feet when she heard the sound of a pokéball opening. Of course he'd need to make an appearance at this time too, never able to stay inside. She didn't even bother looking back at her Riolu, instead focusing on getting her shoes on. They were quiet stylish in her opinion and made her more intimidating but they were also the bane of her existence every morning to put on. Once the last boot had been placed, she shot up once more, finally grabbing her bag and rushing down the stairs. Without a word to her mother, she began to head out the door. 
"Snubbull!" The cry of her pokémon was evident, trying to get Kinsley to slow down and eat breakfast. "You can't skip breakfast, I know you're excited for today's opening ceremony but I can't have you running off on an empty stomach." Her mother's sooth voice called her to her, making Kinsley do a quick 180 and sit down at the table. Their breakfast was simple, just some kind of breakfast curry. She made quick to eat it all, not even stopping to test it while Riolu enjoyed a few poké treats. After the plate was somewhat empty, she once more stood up and made her way to the door. 
"I'll see you at the opening ceremony today, won't I?" She looked back to see if her mother was going to give an answer, she did in the way of a quick nod. Her eyes were closed as she gave an almost forced smile to her daughter. Kinsley knew exactly why she was upset, it would be just the same as when her brother set out. This time though, the child won't come home without beating the full Round Table. With that, she quickly shut the door behind her and Riolu. The sounds of the city were beginning to fill her ears, the train sounding it's horn and many people talking in rushed tones as they made their own way to the Fairwick Gym. She followed the move of traffic, making her way to the outside of the gym before pausing and looking around, there would be several trainers here today, ones she had never met before.

Kinsley walked quickly past the man with a Raboot, choosing to try and get inside instead of making a fool of herself like he seemed to be doing. She noted he had to be a pokemon trainer too, his own were much more evolved than hers. She hadn't even managed to evolve Riolu, despite him being a higher level and their friendship was decent enough, she was sure of it. She had been so caught up in her thoughts, she didn't notice the pacing trainer in front of her. She felt herself hit something solid and jumped back, a bad move. She tripped over her platform boots and fell firmly on her butt, jumping right back up afterwards ready to shot some 'choice' words at the person before her. Riolu gave her shirt a tug, signaling it wasn't the other girl's fault that his trainer was so clumsy. A half-assed apology escaped her lips before she noticed she was carrying a pokemon with her, an Applin to be precise. Her head tilted to the side, she had never seen one up close before, just on the television. Finally breaking her gaze free from the pokemon, she focused on the person holding it. She didn't look much older than her and considering she seemed just as inpatient, there had to be only one reason she was here. 
"You're another trainer aren't you?" The tone of her voice was questioning, not rude. It might be nice to know more trainers in this, help her become a better one and all that. She had heard about her brother's own rival during his time in the Round Table. He spoke fondly enough of them, recalling each battle and defeat he had against them. That's the difference between us, I won't lose.

She and Riolu shared a look between them, she never considered him to be rare, she was gifted him by her father one day when she was younger. Though it did bring a bit of pride to her to know her pokémon was considered such. "I guess so, he's been with me for quiet a few years though so I never thought of him of being rare." She gave a small smile and ran her hand back and forth on his head, he gave her a small glare before finally giving in and smiling. "You might think you're gonna win this thing, but I'm sure my team and I are going to." She boasted, placing her hands back on her hips. She wasn't surprised that most trainers felt this way, it was after all it was a dream of many but she wasn't going to give in to their fantasies so easily. "So an applin, huh?" She eased her stance once more, bending down a bit to look at it. "I've never seen one in the city before, do you live here or somewhere else?"

Her words didn't intimidate Kinsley, instead she enjoyed the challenge. She had already battled the neighborhood kids in her youth but they were not interested in becoming trainers so they proved themselves to be an easy win. "I think you're the one mistaken, I have more than just Riolu on my team you see." She was about to show off her other pokémon, avoiding cosmog, but she seemed to have her own ideas. As if on cue, her bag lit up as one of her balls opened. Please no, not right now. Swirls of cosmos revealed themself as her bag lifted slightly, a pair of eyes staring at the other trainer. "Uh...how did that get there, ahah so weird." Kinsley tried to close her bag quickly to hide away the weak pokémon but it refused to be shut inside once more, instead flinging it open the rest of the way. "This is uh...Cosmog, I don't really do nicknames for my pokémon. She was just making her way back inside her ball." She grabbed the pokéball and tried to make cosmog go back inside, after several minutes of battering with her she finally went back inside. "Besides Cosmog, my pokémon are very strong." Riolu gave a small snicker at her predicament.
