Gila nodded and sat down, looking up at the tom. "Well, you're really arrogant." She said simply, flicking her torn ear. "And selfish. You're pretty selfish too. Your whole clan seems arrogant and selfish." She added. Of course the loner didn't know all of his clan, but from the cats she had seen earlier that day, they all seemed to have the same personality in common, and it was one that she didn't like.

He huffed. "I am not selfish. Arrogant, maybe, but not selfish. I can care about other cats. I just don't show it often, mainly because I don't even like that many of my Clanmates. I tolerate them. Kind of like how I tolerate my brother. So then, that's one truth and one misunderstanding. You got anything else up your sleeve?"

Gila gave a small snort. The she-cat felt a bit bad for stepping on his toes, but he did ask. When Shadowfur mentioned his lack of approval of his classmates, Gila twitched her ear. "Why are you even in the clan if you don't like them? Aren't you just making yourself miserable that way?" She asked, her voice becoming more gentle and sincere. The gray she-cat meant what she said. If the tom didn't like most of his clan-mates, then why was his staying? But as the tom finished his speech, she shook her head. "I don't know you well enough to have another opinion. You are nice somewhere in there, but other than what I've said, I've got nothing."

His gaze got a little distant as he milled over her question. "I don't really know sometimes, you know? I guess I just don't have any life to compare it with. If I were to experience the loner life for a day or two, then maybe I could have something to compare my life with, you know?" He tipped his head to one side.

Gila watched as Shadowfur's gaze turned. She immediately realized that what she said could have hit him in the wrong spot, but she didn't regret it. Things like that had to be thought about, especially if one wasn't happy in their environment. Gila nodded in silence. She understood where the tom was coming from, but she wasn't there to make him leave his clan. If wanted to, he could, but if he didn't, then fine. "If you ever decide to do that I'll be here." She said quietly.

He smirked. "So now you're back to wanting me to live with you? For life's sake, Gila, make up your mind! You're as confusing as an elder with dementia. But... What is your decision? I'd like to know, really I would."

Gila gave a huff at Shadowfur's comment. "I never said I didn't want you with me and I never said I did! I said you could. Big difference." She said, stomping one of her paws. "But I guess it would be interesting to see a clan cat out here, though I'm not going to make you leave your home." Gila gave a small shrug and looked down at her paws. Was Shadowfur asking to live with here? This conversation was so confusing to the she-cat. It was all so out of the ordinary for her. She figured that the tom would just go back to his clan and leave her there, not stay around and try to make friends. The she-cat didn't mind it, though. It was just more than she was expecting.

While waiting for an answer, Adderstrike sat down in the sand, wrapping his tail around his paws. He decided that if Antpaw wasn't going to accept his offer, then he was just going togo back to camp. There was no use in trying to change the tom's mind. The tabby tom tipped his head when Antpaw agreed and stood up. He was honestly a bit surprised. He hadn't expected the tom to give him. He was so stubborn that it was rare, but really, he had no choice. Adderstrike nodded. "Just stay here then. I'll be back in a bit." With that, the warrior bounded off in hope to find something to catch. Antpaw grumbled under his breath. He wasn't all that thrilled about getting help from Adderstrike of all cats, but what else could he do? Sit out here and starve? Get picked off by a wild dog? There was a multitude of things that could happen to him out here, and while he was sure he could hold his own, some part of him knew that it was best to just accept an offer that was never given - help. Light-headiness trying to settle in, Antpaw slowly lay down on the cool sand, stretching out his injured paw. It was slowly beginning to grow numb, which both relieved him of pain and brought forth a new seed of worry growing in the pit of his stomach.

Adderstrike gave a small snort at Antpaw as he went off. Why did the apprentice have to be so hot-headed and get him into things he couldn't get out of himself? Adderstrike knew a scorpion sting couldn't be predicted, but the fact that it was Antpaw made it all the more annoying to the tom.
The tabby slowed his pace when he caught the scent of a mouse. He dropped his body into a crouch, silently creeping toward the scent. He knew a mouse was small, but since they tended to live in groups, Adderstrike figured he could just catch two for the apprentice and call it a day. Finding their den, the tom watched from afar until one crawled out. He dashed forward and caught it easily, then went to lay it in the sand so he could catch another. After his second catch, he grabbed both pieces of prey and headed back to where Antpaw was, doing his best to be quick so the apprentice could get back to camp.
Adderstrike approached Antpaw with the two mice hanging from his jaws. He silently set them down in front of the apprentice before settling himself at the extended paw. Adderstrike slowly began licking at Antpaw's paw, in hopes of being able to properly clean it out since he didn't have access to water at that time.

Don't dance around it like you've been doing."

Gila huffed in aggravation. "I have a name." She hissed, flattening her ears for a second before perking them up once more. "I'm not going to tell you to leave your home like you tried doing to me, so if you want, just stay out here for a few days and see if you like it. If you don't, then go back home." She said simply. She wasn't sure how else she could put it. Gila didn't even know if she wanted him out there with her, so she was leaving it up to him.
