“No, I wasn’t.” Phoenix said with a huff as she sat down next to Kyo, “Lyra was showing the new kid around and they came by while I was training.” She explained, looking down at the plate of food that she had grabbed.
Nathanial looked back at Mathias and then looked over at Echo as well. Mathias had a point at that, with her leadership and fighting skills, Echo could be a valuable ally later on. “You’re gonna creep her out if you keep staring at her like that.” He teased lightly.

Even so, he looked at her and assured. “I was surprised to hear that you found a new camper in the first place… what happened?” Mathias took note of Nathanial’s words, sighing as he realized that the other man was right. He looked away from Echo and mused. “Besides. I doubt someone like her would date a big brute like me. I’ve been around the block more times than a mail truck.” He admitted shamelessly, knowing that his desires for carnal pleasures could be off-putting to some in camp. He certainly would never deny that he got around. Surely Echo would not be keen on that… even if the thought made him ache a bit, far more than with anyone else so far. |

She wears a precious necklace that holds an icicle that never melts. || Kassie can be described as sweet, but with a tainted heart. She can be kind in most situations, but her slight attitude can get in the way. Her mood changes when she is near some people and sometimes can come off as cruel, but she tries her hardest to be kind to everyone. She's always been head-strong, which can lead her into some bad situations, but she isn't afraid to take the lead if no one is stepping up or corruption has taken a hold of others. || Prefers to focus mostly on elemental magic, specifically cryokinesis. She likes to use memory manipulation and energy blasts. Heyo, everyone, sorry I haven’t been on. Past few weeks have been busy and I’ve been too tired to really focus on anything. Cat had just finished eating dinner and decided to leave the Dining Pavilion a bit earlier than the other campers. She wanted to finish sorting through the rest of the herbs and mushrooms she had gathered that day.
Kumiko was running a course at the climbing wall, trying to beat her best time. She was about halfway up the wall when she jumped to the side to avoid a burst of lava and rocks fall past her. Huffing, Kumiko tightened her grip and started climbing again.

Jared was out in the forest in camp. Normally the young son of Ares would be out training in hand to hand combat in the training arena as the others would. But this time, he was doing something else. Still training, if you could call it that, but ruthlessly attacking a tree. The boy was hitting it in the exact spot repeatedly with dangerous accuracy, mumbling under his breath.
Ben was also at the wall climb course, watching as other campers climbed. He wasn’t a huge fan of the climbing wall. Ben flinched as he spotted Kumiko barely dodging a burst of lava, sucking in a breath as he was impressed.

Cat passed by the forest on her way back to cabins, having decided to take the long way back. The weather was nice and she wanted to enjoy it a bit before heading inside. She paused, hearing what sounded like metal against wood, “Hello?” She called out, wondering if it was another camper.
Kumiko let out a breath of relief as she finally made it to the top of the wall. Glancing down at her time, she gave a light frown as she saw that she had only shaved a couple seconds off it. “Could’ve been a couple more without that lava.” She huffed, moving to climb and jump back down.

(I just remembered I had like 3 new characters. A daughter is Zeus (Spencer), a daughter of Ares (Emilia), and a daughter of Aphrodite (Blake))
Natasha was sitting outside on the steps to the Hermes cabin. The girl definitely looked weary, having just cleaned up in the cabin. Being cabin counselor could be a lot considering that her dad really got around and there were many half-siblings in her cabin, as well as the occasional stray. Right now, she was glad to be done with that chore and was headed off to the forest to train.
Christian was in the stables, talking calmly to his favorite of the horses in the stable. Christian did well with other campers, other people in general. He was charming and friendly, and easy on the eyes. But yet he preferred a fair amount of time being solitary, or at least without another person around.

Jared spun around at the sound of a voice, instinctually throwing a knife in that direction. The knife whizzed past Cat and into a tree slightly behind her and off to the side. “Cat!”Jared gasped, surprised by his own reaction and having nearly hit the blind girl. Yet with a smugness lit in the back of his mind, he knew he could have hit her if he really wanted to.
Ben watched as Kumiko made it down, briefly hearing her mutter about her time. He smiled a little, “I mean, considering you nearly got cooked. I’d say a few seconds shaved off is an accomplishment,”he commented.

Cat turned her head in surprise as the knife flew past her ear, feeling the air rush by as it did. Blinking, she turned her head back to Jared, “You know, if I wanted a haircut, I would’ve gone to one of the Aphrodite kids.” She joked lightly. Jinx let out an annoyed squawk at the Ares boy, the raven giving him a stern glare from the same tree. She was a bit protective of the young girl and didn’t appreciate seeing her almost get impaled with a knife.
Kumiko gave a shrug to her half brother as she grabbed a towel, “I guess.” She sighed, wiping away the sweat on her forehead, “I should’ve reacted quicker to it though. I almost hesitated.” She added

Jared chuckled sheepishly, his hand on the back of his head in awkward embarrassment. “Sorry about that”he said to her with a light chuckle, and looked at Jinx, knowing the bird definitely still had mixed feeling towards him. “Sorry Jinx,”he said with a strange politeness to the bird. Jared was normally never so thoughtful. Maybe towards Cat, but people knew he held a soft spot for the daughter of Hecate. So him not making a half-hearted threat towards the raven was a strange thing for sure. “What are you doing out here?”he asked Cat.
(Kid you not I forgot that they were half siblings lol)
Ben gave a small grimace, but shrugged. “True. You are normally more efficient. Something bothering you?”he asked her, with a barely there, curious frown.

Jinx ruffled her feathers at him, but settled down after a gesture came from Cat, “Just heading back to the cabins. I left a little early.” Cat said, giving him a light smile, “But then I heard someone aggressively beating up a tree. Is that a common Ares trait?” She had happened upon Mathias doing something similar a while back, but hadn’t talked to him much before moving on somewhere else. At least he didn’t throw a knife at her.
Kumiko looked over at him before shaking her head, “Nah, not really. Just a bit tired is all.” She said, giving her usual bright smile. “I think I’ve had enough here though, so I’m gonna head off.” She said, picking up her bag.

Jared snorted as she recounted what he had previously been doing a moment ago. “…Maybe it is a common Ares trait….that among other things,”he muttered, flinging another knife towards the tree again right in the same deep notch he had been chipping away at. He let on a heavy sigh looking at her,”sorry…about the aggression,”he said lightly,”and nearly chopping your hair off,”he added with a more lighthearted note, reaching out to touch a stray lock of her hair.
Spencer was leaving the Pavillion heading off towards her cabin, or just wandering. She wasn’t sure yet. But she knew she was ridiculously bored.

“It’s okay. It’s probably almost time for a haircut anyways.” Cat said with a shrug, “Of course I never really know when it’s time for one, so I have to rely on my siblings to tell me. Besides that, is there something on your mind?”
Kumiko stretched her arms over head as she tried to work out her sore muscles. She gave a sigh as she dropped her arms by her side again and looked around, feeling a bit bored. Honestly, the camp has gotten a bit boring lately, and everything just seemed repetitive. Kumiko paused as she spotted Spencer, one of the new campers. She remembered her from the last Capture the Flag game, and the girl seemed pretty okay.
“Hey! You’re Spencer, right?” Kumiko asked, catching up with the other girl, “I’m Kumiko. I’m not sure if you remember me or not.” She said, giving Spencer a friendly smile.

Jared shrugged,”haircut, shmaircut. You always look nice,”he said with a small smile before tensing again as she asked him what was on his mind. He paced for a moment wondering how to tell her in words that made sense how he felt lately. “…I feel angry.”he started slowly. “…Or maybe it’s not anger? I don’t know. I just feel different…like I see red sometimes. For no reason…”he started to explain before glancing at her. “…but I feel myself changing. And I don’t really like it.”he sighed.
Spencer jerked out of her thoughts and blinked at Kumiko for a moment before a sheepish smile appeared on her face and she blushed,”oh. Hi! Yeah I remember you. You called be a thunderhead,”she blurted before mentally telling herself to shut up and be cool. “I mean…not that I didn’t deserve it. I did accidentally almost dropped a tree on your and your friends,”she said with a little embarrassed laugh.

Cat gave a concerned frown as Jared explained what was going on, “Have you talked to any of your siblings? Maybe they can give some advice on what you’re going through. They might have gone through the same thing at one point.” She suggested, tilting her head as she thought about. Jared had always been pretty easygoing, at least around her he has, so it was strange to think of him angry or aggressive.
Kumiko giggled at her comment, “Sorry, the name slipped out. Let’s call it even and forget it happened okay?” She said, grinning, “Anyways, what are you up to? Anything interesting?”

Jared looked down at the ground for a long moment before lifting his eyes to look back at Cat, meeting her blank gaze. “No…I haven’t. But I know that I’m not the only one…I guess it’s the Ares rite of passage,”he said with a slightly dark chuckle. “I mean, I’ve watched Mathias deal with what I imagine is happening to me now. And if I’m anything like him…then I guess it’s going to get a bit worse.”he stated. “I just…I don’t want to be another one like them. Another raging son of Ares…”he muttered. Jared was friendly with everyone, but he wasn’t open with anyone. However, he always knew he could talk openly with Cat.
Spencer smiled at the girl’s friendly offer. But then she made a small face at the question. “Honestly…no. Absolutely, nothing interesting. At all,”she said blatantly. “I swear there’s only so many time I can climb a rope or stab a wooden dummy,”she sighed. “If a monster broke into camp now?…maybe that would at least make things more interesting.”she sighed and looked back at Kumiko. “How about you?”

Cat reached forward with her hand and gently grabbed his hand, glad she managed to grab it in the first place, “Don’t worry, you’ll figure it out. Maybe try asking Nathanial. He always seems to have it all together, especially when he’s dealing with all of the other Ares kids as well.” She said.
“Ugh, tell me about it.” Kumiko groaned, stretching her arms out behind her, “I’m so bored, I could just go crazy! There’s nothing going on here, and Chiron hasn’t sent out a quest in MONTHS! It’d be nice to get out of camp every once in a while.” She sighed, not even remembering the last time she left camp. With permission that is.

Spencer groaned,”man I would love a quest right about now…I thought a camp full of a bunch of Demi-gods would be fun,”she complained in agreement. Then she lit up for a moment, realized Kumiko’s words. “Wait…that’s an option? Getting out of camp I mean..?”she asked, looking at Kumiko, hopefully. Clearly no one had told her anything about leaving camp and if that was okay for not.
Jared felt soothed as he looked down at Cat’s hand that held his. He gave it a gentle squeeze and then smiled a little, “yeah…I guess Nathanial does have it together. Maybe I should talk to him, before this becomes something…different,”he said, not wanting to use the word worse. But he took this moment to lean in towards Cat bending his head down to rest his forehead on her shoulder. “Thanks…”he murmured, just appreciating her being here.

We can’t leave the camp unless we have been sent out on a quest or for the school year for those who can get away with being out in the open.” She explained with a shrug, although there have been the few rebellious ones who leave when they feel like it, “Once we’re old enough and trained up, we can leave freely and come and go as we please though.”

She always felt happier around Jared, he never treated her like she was fragile and needed help with everything. She hoped that in some way she had helped him too. Kumiko gave a sad sigh as she dropped her arms again, “Unfortunately, not really. Spencer kicked the dirt a little before looking back up at Kumiko. “So…you’re telling me no one sneaks out every now and then?”she asked, a little bit of a mischievous spark in her eyes. At this point, she didn’t really care about monsters coming after her if she left, camp was getting a little suffocating. |

Cat gave him a smile and a nod, “Sure, I would like that.” She said, turning to leave the forest, “I was just heading back to the cabins when I stopped here.”
“Well, there’s been the few rebellious campers.” Kumiko said, giving her own mischievous grin, “I’ve done a couple times myself with my friends. Although we tend to get into trouble when all of us sneak out together.” She added, remembering the last time she had snuck out with Echo, Shard and the others.
