He can find the coolness of her body from the water that still dripped from her body. He moved his hand to warm different parts of her, from her side to her arm and shoulder. The moment she pulled her head from his shoulder, he knew her eyes would be on his. A moment he expect yet his confusion still showed it's face in his mind. He and Josie weren't exactly close, but these few moments had brought them closer than he anticipated in such a short amount of time. He opened his mouth to speak, but nothing come out. What was her question again? He pressed his lips together for a moment, also thinking of what they could do. "I don't know, everyone has different ideas. Some are impulsive, some are more well-planned out." Blaze truly wasn't sure what to do in the moment.

Was this what it was like to be selfish and not have to always help others? Not always have to be relied upon by others for your skills. Of course he had his moments where he created his own armor, something for himself. But the reason was still for others. Something to use to protect his fellow campers. Again, not for his own personal reason. Yet, a feeling today had drove him from his cabin and down to the beach. He didn't understand it nor did he really think he would ever understand it. Suddenly, the air felt energized around them both and the air vibrated almost like a heartbeat, quick and strong. Blaze recognized the air as Josie's heartbeat, yet he could feel the same coming from him. Heat pushing off his body and expanding outward. Josie's voice stumbling brought him back to her and he realized what she was basically asking for. Slowly, he leaned his face down into her's, pressing his lips to hers. Contact with her lips caused the strands of his brown hair to stand up almost like he rubbed a balloon against it.

Sometime during their warm and electrifying kiss, his eyes slid shut and he soaked in the feeling. He pulled her closer, his hand pressing her against her waist. The moment felt like it last forever yet it only last maybe ten seconds and felt so short. Once she pulled away, his brown eyes opened to find hers locked on his face. The gentle breeze blowing a few strands of his hair across his forehead, but her smile was lit up his face. If she enjoyed the moment, then maybe being selfish was a good thing. The satisfaction and excitement radiating or maybe that was the warmth his body was producing. He leaned closer to her, a smile crossing his face one again. "Impulsive is good," Blaze spoke softly.

For once, he felt a connection deeper with someone deep than anyone at camp. His siblings were his siblings and he'd do anything to protect anyone around specifically all of the younger campers. Yet, this connection was something he hoped to develop more with Josie. She was always different than some of the other girls. She was just as beautiful as any of Aphrodite's daughters, though he hoped that the goddess of love didn't hear that opinion. She didn't take too well to any claims of her daughters being shown up. Her most beautiful and captivating aspect was, of course, her blue eyes. He couldn't pulled his eyes off of hers, but then her lips causing another jolt of exhilaration through his body. He wrapped his arms around her waist, hoisting her almost into his lap, but still respecting their newfound boundary.

Despite Blaze's hands battered and rough from the heat and abuse of the Forge, he carefully holds Josie close to him. His right hand rises from her waist to the middle of her back. The feeling of her fingers slipping through his hair caused a heat sensation rise from him, the air growing warm again. A smile cross his lips as he felt her hair slowly start to rise, brushing against his face. Similar to what she normally did, Blaze followed Josie's wants as her leadership qualities pressed into focus as she lead their intense activity. Unlike a demigod of the sky and thunder, Josie was not scared of the crashing thunder, but Blaze was. Clearly he didn't expect the crack of thunder to ripple across the sky as he jolted from their embrace. "Not a word!" Blaze exclaim but soon began to laugh at himself. "It's okay, I don't mind even though you just jump-scared me like one of those horror games my siblings play." Blaze reached out toward her, silently asking her to be close to one another again.

Once she found her way back into his lap and embrace, he let one arm brace her lower back and his other rest across her stomach with a gentleness he swore was new. Most items he handled had to be held with a strong, firm embrace over he risked severe injury. His cheek brushed against the middle of her head, a scent of floral filling nose from whatever shampoo Josie used. "As long as that thunder was from your abilities and not someone intruding on our moment," Blaze teased. Yet, he was a little serious, an enemy of Zeus was not a wish or want he needed. If they could just stay here all day, Blaze would choose to do so. Nothing else mattered at the moment except for spending time with Josie. A sly smile creased his face as the words left her mouth and he gave a small laugh. "Your kiss fills me with so much energy... Figurative and literally," he murmured.

Her joking back with him makes a grin appear across his face. A song he used to hear from videos his mom had on her phone, pops up in his head and he can't help but hum the little chorus. Except for just the slightest moment right before she teased him about their kisses, he found her eyes had a small sense of sadness in them. Josie had always been an amazing friend to everyone, that's just who she was as a person. Blaze kept his distance from most, aside from Frannie because of his insecurity of being the child of the deformed Olympian god. He always felt the draw to power though, not just raw power that they wield within the forge, but also those who held power. What he didn't tell people was who he was drawn to, everyone knew of Nakita. Even she likely knew, but two campers who were opposites. One the daughter of the god of the seas and the son of the god of metalsmithing and fire. Fire and water never mixed, so Blaze put that crush behind him. He knew it wouldn't work, but there was another that not even Frannie knew about. He locked away his feelings deep down, putting his heart into his work. Sadly, it also caused him the pain he connected with Josie on earlier. Longing to just feel selfish, with the crush he buried deep within. His eyes found her once again and he blinked a soft understanding to her. "I know what you're thinking. Yeah I did like Nakita, but that was never going to happen. Fire and water don't go well together. What you didn't know was the other girl that I hide my feelings for because I was afraid of losing someone else. I caused my own pain when I did it too. I separated myself from everyone, attempting to put my heart into my work. Except it ended in me having burnout, quite literally." Blaze explain softly, hoping she understood his reasons. "And yet, my feelings directed me down to the lake today. Directly to you, the other girl I had crush on." Blaze squeezed his arms a little tighter around Josie, praying to their parents and the other Olympians, that she wouldn't want to leave them.

For once, the cradle Josie formed with her hands on his face was so full of affection and warmth, Blaze considered them to be warmer than himself. A feeling that he wanted to soak up so badly. Just hearing his name sent all the butterflies away and he just knew that this was who he belonged with. A loving smile creased the each of his face just before her lips touched his again. Finally, someone to share life with, well what little life both of them had as year-rounders at camp. He locked her into his embrace, turning so she faced him more and deepened their kiss. He wanted her to release her emotions and allow them run wild, his own emotions completely suppressed in the past.

Almost the moment he heard the giggling of the naiads, his face turned a shade of cherry. He had taken the moment too far, too soon into their developing relationship. If Blaze could even pinpoint that as the correct term. One minute he was helping Josie and her canoe to shore, then the next they had both confessed to each other about their mutual feelings. Maybe this stemmed from not having much experience with this type of social interaction. Blaze couldn't even remembered the last time he had kissed anyone, but the emotion was nothing like this. "Sorry, I guess I never asked if you wanted this," Blaze whispered. Despite being so close to the water's edge, his words were only for her. Not the prying eyes and ears of the water naiads taking an interest in his and her time together. "Josie... should we make it official or would you want to wait?" Despite the electrifying time spent with her, Blaze's anxiety rose like a magma did in a volcano and caused him to question if this was what she wanted.

A strange weight was suddenly lifted off of Blaze's body, something that he finally was able to relieve himself of. Someone was going to be there for him and vice versa. Knowing they'd be here for a majority of their time, Blaze let all of the joy cross his face. He couldn't wait to spend more time with Josie, whether it was typical camp activities or fighting the traitors side by side. "Yes, it absolutely is" Blaze murmured lovingly. Even though she had said yes, Blaze's heart picked up speed, yet he didn't care. Nothing was going to ruin this moment, not even if Zeus struck him down that instant. She still said yes. Blaze reached up with one hand brushing her cheek with the back of his hand before leaning down into a kiss, their first official one as a couple.

Laughter spilled from Blaze's mouth, thinking back to early how he was trying to decide what he wanted for food later. Almost on cue, his stomach repeated the same noise as Josie's begging for food. If this didn't explain the already playful relationship, then he didn't know what would. "I'd say we both need something. As much as I wish they did, our kisses don't fuel us up," Blaze said chuckling even more. Without much effort, Blaze pushed himself up from the shore, still holding onto Josie. "Would you like a ride or do you want to walk" he joked with her.

Most who knew Blaze figured out early on, if he didn't tease or mess around with you only two options existed. Either he hadn't known you for very long or he didn't like you. The latter being pretty hard as he got along with most people around camp, even with rivalries between cabins. Blaze smirked as a joke come to his mind, but he refrained for the time being not wanting to push their boundary just yet. "I'm warning you now, I play around a little too much. For example if I knew I wouldn't get in trouble I would have plunged us back into the lake." Blaze's eyebrows rose quickly and a sly grin appeared on his face. To show he wasn't going to go that route, Blaze lowered Josie back down so her feet could touch the shore.

In his head, he half expected this situation to occur which was why he braced himself and tensed his body to avoid moving very far. Blaze began to laugh as the harder she struggled against him, the more he couldn't help himself. The last few years putting extensive time into the forge was absolutely paying off in the moment. Quickly a plan began to formulate within his head as she allowed Josie to continue to push against him. "Is that all you got?" Blaze teased her with a little bit of sass. He fully expected her to try something outside of the box, which was exactly what he was counting on.

Blaze's amusement was too high, likely enough to get yelled at from Josie, but she challenged him so what could he say? Digging her shoulder into his back wasn't a bad idea, but he hardly move more than an inch. "Are you giving up yet?" Blaze asked with a slight head turn. Her stubbornness to move him was admirable, but ultimately foolish until he felt the slight breeze pick up. Blaze sighed as he placed a few of his fingers on his forehead, rubbing his temple. "So predictable," he mocked her as quickly reached out with a hand grabbing her and letting the powerful gust pull both of them into the water. Blaze's head submerged drop into the water, but he made sure to keep hold of Josie. He resurfaced after a few moments, laughing and hair dripping water into his face.
