After resting for quite a bit in the day, Shadow rolled his body off of where he was leaning against and placed his elbows on his knees as he opened his eyes to look at Frances. "Tell that to your half-siblings," Shadow muttered loud enough to be heard. It was no surprise that Demeter and Hades offspring were not fond of one another. The situation was pretty similar to Athena and Ares cabins, both believing they were superior over one another in war. Shadow's attention shifted away from Frances when she asked how he was. Well, if you call almost losing yourself to the darkness, a decent day then I guess it was good. He quickly shook the rude and sarcastic response from his mind. "I'm recovering and resting from a self-inflicted injury, so that's how I've been. And yourself?"

“Don’t worry. Whatever’s bothering him, I’m sure he’ll get over it soon.” Echo said with a sigh. It was probably nothing, she couldn’t go around jumping to conclusions, “If he wants to talk, he’ll come to you.” Phoenix frowned at him, stepping a bit closer, “It’s not that hard to find, just keep going straight. He blinked once, realizing he had admitted a flaw to someone, and the thought made him bristle with tension. "It's not a big deal." "Well, what makes you think I want to go wandering back in these woods alone? The sun's going down and I've never been this deep in the woods before!" Levin complained, looking as weary as he could manage in his state. Inwardly, he hoped Phoenix would rise to the bait. |

Echo shook her head, “I know. It’s not your fault, don’t be sorry. You have every right to be frustrated.” She said, grabbing some food and sitting down, “Come on, let’s eat.”
Phoenix stepped a bit closer again, getting even closer to the camp border, “The road isn’t that far.” She said, starting to feel a bit unsure. Maybe this really was a lost mortal, he certainly looked the part. Phoenix slowly let her guard down as she took another step and pointed again, “It’s literally right up there.”

He could not stand to be looked at as if he was weak. Never again. He sat down across from Echo, eyeing the food with interest. "Was Evelyn cooking again today? Hard to get first dibs with that one, but hell, that girl can cook." He admitted. "Alright...only if you're really sure." Levin sighed, only to whip around quickly as he heard a loud growling noise. Stepping from the underbrush was a monster, with skin as pale as bone and teeth as sharp as blades. Dark wisps swarmed around it, a perfect illusion of a real monster. Levin smirked ever so slightly with his back turned to Phoenix, before he gave a loud scream and bolted through the forest. The monster raced after him, roaring loudly. |

Echo gave a shrug as she bit into her food, “No clue. I’ve been doing chores for a good part of the day, that’s why I missed breakfast.” She said, glancing up, “More than likely, though. She does spend a good portion of her time in the kitchens.”
Phoenix’s eyes widened in shock as the monster appeared and glanced at the mortal, seeing him scream and run off. So he could see through the Mist, either that or he saw something completely different. But she couldn’t just leave him to be torn to shreds by it, so she took off after them, yanking her necklace off and giving it a twist.soon she was holding her sword in her hand and chasing after the monster.

Josie was feeling more anxious every day, the idea of a traitor walking around camp wouldn't put anyone's mind at ease. That, and what Shadow said and the secret they'd all promised to make wasn't doing anything to help. Currently, the daughter of Zeus was sitting at her table in the dining pavilion, staring at her half-full plate of food and scraping her fork against her plate. The brunette sighs softly and finally sets her fork down, leaning back and stretching her arms high in the air. Josie eventually gets up, discards the rest of her food, and starts to make her way towards the training area. If she couldn't eat, she might as well try and get some training in. Claude laid in the top bunk of one of the beds inside the Hermes cabin, throwing a rubber ball against the ceiling and catching it whenever it comes back down. Things seemed to have calmed down since the incident in the forest, and though he knew there had been more question than answers, Claude didn't seem to be bothered. He felt it would be a waste of energy to worry about things they had no idea about. The counselors and Chiron were probably coming up with solutions on their own. Juniper was where she usually was, lounging on the beach with an old issue of a magazine, sunglasses on and a floppy hat to further block the sun from her view. She flipped through the pages languidly, chewing on her lower lip as her eyes avert from the pages to the beach, waiting to see if anyone interesting was around. (welcome back from vacation! here are some of my starters, anyone can respond to them if they’d like c: ) |

Sorry I disappeared last night ^.^’ here are some more open characters of mine)
Connor was in the training arena, practicing with Kumiko, who was shooting arrows at him while he dodged them. The arrows were of course enchanted so that if Connor were to get hit by one it would only bounce off, but it would still leave a nice sized bruise if he wasn’t careful.
Obsidian was down at the beach reading a magic book and practicing some spells, making the water move a little when she waved her hand.

Kumiko paused, lowering her bow as Josie approached, “I don’t mind! We only just got started too, so it’s no problem for me!” She said, glancing over at Connor to see if he agreed.
Connor gave a shrug, “I don’t care.” He said, never one to say much. Kumiko looked back over at the daughter of Zeus and gave her a smile, “I’m practicing my aim, while Connor is practicing his agility and some battle maneuvers. If you want, you can join me in trying to make Connor a pin cushion!”
Obsidian looked up at Juniper’s voice and the water dropped back into the lake, “Just some spell practice.” She said, giving a shrug, “Nothing super interesting.”

Josie beamed and gave a quick nod before standing near Kumiko, pretty much towering over the younger daughter of Apollo. “I have no qualms with turning Connor into a pushpin, but I’m also pretty confident he can handle his own.” She nods over to him, grinning at the tanned boy. “But hey, let’s see if I can put a spark through ya!” Her blue eyes glisten and she gives a playful wink to Connor.
Josie raised her brows, nodding slowly. “A spell book, huh? You any good at it?” She asked, crossing her legs and staying seated. She tucks a strand of hair behind her ear and studies Obsidian a little closer, immediately noticing some of the tattoos snaking up the girls arm. While she wasn’t a conventionally attractive girl, Juniper could still admit that her features were definitely unique, appreciating her purple eyes and dark lips. She noted to herself that if Obsidian suddenly took an interest in styling her hair or clothes then she could do pretty decently.

“I think I can go without the pin cushion.” Connor said sarcastically as he got into a ready stance. Kumiko giggled as she readied her bow and pulled the string back, aiming carefully before releasing the arrow.
Connor quickly sidestepped the first arrow and second that Kumiko released, keeping him on his toes as he waited for Josie’s attack as well.
“I suppose I’m alright at it.” Obsidian said, not one to brag about her own abilities, “Or I at least try to be. It’s not all that simple.” She added, closing the book and setting it aside.

Connor started dodging the arrows Kumiko and Josie were shooting at him, giving a slight grunt when one would hit him every now and then. Josie’s electrified arrows definitely added to the challenge, that was for sure.
Kumiko slowly started to circle around Connor, trying to catch him off guard.
Obsidian blinked in surprise at Juniper’s request, “Oh, uh, sure. Okay.” She said, feeling slightly self-conscious. She opened the spell book and turned to a specific page, then turned her attention to the sand in front of her. Lifting a hand, Obsidian starting mouthing some strange words, a purple aura surrounding her hands as she did. Slowly at first, the sand started to shift before turning into a blobish figure with hollowed out eyes. Obsidian wiggled her fingers a little, and the figure moved, like a puppet.

Francis watched the son of Hades very carefully, her hazel eyes studying his movement. The blonde felt like she was pretty good at reading people, but Shadow was a mystery for her, and she was determined to change that. Especially because he thought they shouldn't hang out because of their godly parents. She quirks a brow at his comment, curious to see if her half-siblings really thought the way that Shadow expected them to. After he answered her question, genuine concern crossed Fran's features and she had to hold herself back from giving him a comforting pat. Instead, she clasps her hands tightly together and frowns. "An injury? Are you alright? Do you still hurt? Is there anything I can do to help?" It's like she doesn't even hear Shadow ask about how she's doing, her attention solely on him and his well-being. Sorry I'm finally on my 6th consecutive day of work, so I actually got a little bit of time to reply lol) Apparently this girl doesn't know how to take the hint, but I guess it's better than sitting here by myself. Shadow rotated his head, trying to let itself crack to relieve some of the pressure built up. His eyes narrowed as she concerned herself with hid well being so quickly without even responding to his question. "Frances..." he groaned with a roll of his eyes. "I'm fine. Don't fuss over me. I'm not a child, if you wanna do that then I suggest finding Jasmine." His irritation was evident from his lack of companionship especially one as bubbly and friendly as Frances. |

Levin played the part expertly, fear dashing in his eyes and in his scream as he led them both on a fruitless monster chase. He ducked through a grove, sliding down some rocks and jumping towards the underbrush. The illusion monster screeched again, dashing after Levin and glancing back at Phoenix. |

The only damn reason I'm here and not back with my mother is so they don't kill her. Bad enough that they stalk us outside this damn camp." He sighed. Levin's eyes flicked for a second, and the monster roared at the presence of the fireball. It turned its attention to Phoenix now. Levin wanted to see exactly how strong she was. For now, he would let his little trick test her out. Then, the real talk could begin. He scrambled against a rock desperately, looking as fearful as he could manage as the monster moved to lunge at her. |

“It’s hard to say.” Echo said, finishing her food and pushing the plate away from her, “I doubt Chiron even knows anything. Whoever it was, they were smart in how they pulled it off. I hate to say it, but we won’t really know anything until something else happens.”
Phoenix quickly dodged to the left and swung her sword as the monster lunged at her. She quickly turned back around and faced the monster, her sword raised and another fireball in her hand.

Josie was really impressed with how fast Connor was able to move, sometimes almost a blur as he was dodging arrows. Aware of Kumiko’s movements, the brunette also began to circle the Demeter boy, going the opposite direction. She moved fast, shooting once before doing a quick somersault and shooting again immediately after, aiming for his legs. Juniper watched closely, giving a chuckle as Obsidian created a little sand blob and puppeteer it with ease. Color her impressed. “Wow, Winters, pretty cool. Better than anything I could ever do.” (Hey, Ice, thought I would quote my last response in case you missed it ^^' ) |

(all good!) It's very apparent in her mood shift that Frances wasn't used to someone speaking to her so bluntly. She all but flinches at his reply, her eyes immediately casting downwards. There's a pregnant pause between them as the Demeter girl stays quiet. Then, she looks at him once again with that bright smile of hers, the moment washing over like it didn't affect her at all. "I'm doing fine, thanks for asking! I've been taking care of the strawberry fields, that's actually where I was just coming from. Do you ever go there?" She shifts the conversation smoothly, completely disregarding what he'd just said to her. The glossy look in her eyes is the only thing that gives her away. Sorry my schedule has turned into an "all Hades has broken loose" scenario. 50th anniversary is legit tomorrow for WDW and I'm working a 4 10 hours in a row. I'm doing GREAT! LMAO) There was a slight moment where Shadow considered dissolving into the darkness next to him, so he wouldn't have to be here any longer, but only for a moment. He'd never be able to live down that type of rudeness and he was sure it would spread pretty quickly through camp about that action. He gave a sigh as he cast a glance at Frances as he listened to her speak. "No, anytime I go down there, everything wants to die so not only does it make your siblings annoyed, the camp loses its side income from the starwberries sales" he explained. Nothing but truth from that statement, his mood was a big factor in how quickly the plants wilted. |
