Every move that the two combatants made against each other, Blaze took in. Anything he could pick up whether it was a specific attack, block, or movement, he did not want to miss. Yet, he noticed that Echo was playing a little more defense. Against Mathias that wasn't going to last long, but he still believed Echo had a few tricks up her sleeve. "That's what she wants you to think," Blaze responded to Kumiko. "She doesn't just use strength or maneuvers, but she adjusts her strategy even mid-fight."

Shadow shook his head and then spun on his heels to face the Big House once more. "Guess I'm heading in to see if I'm allowed to go back to chores," Shadow said before walking up to the two story building. He gave a quick sigh before opening the door and stepped into the room.
After a few minutes, Shadow stepped out of the door frame and headed back down to Brennan. "Thanks for waiting," Shadow muttered. "I'm clear to help with chores, but Chiron told me not to overdo it basically." He gave a shrug of his shoulders then slipped his hands into his pockets. "So you've got training soon? Mind if I tag along?"

Echo quickly brought her swords up and blocked the attack, only just managing to keep her footing from Mathias’ swing. She pushed with her swords, trying to shove him away from her and making a move to counter attack. Phoenix rubbed her arm awkwardly, “I didn’t exactly ‘blow up’.” She muttered, looking away from Lyra. At least, she didn’t think she did. Mathias stepped one foot back, his heel digging in for support as he pushed back against her. His eyes searched hers, trying for once to fight more strategically than based solely on the flow of combat emotion. Perhaps that was why he had lost to her before. She was clever and calculating to his strong and headfirst style. He turned suddenly, aiming to wrench her swords out of her hands with his own. "Well, you sure as shoot did something!" Lyra laughed, tapping her fingers against her arms before she grinned again. "Why so embarrassed? You could have extraordinary powers that you haven't even known of before! They say children of Hephaestus like you and your brothers are highly uncommon. You're a special woman, Phoenix." She praised. |

Kumiko grinned as she watched Mathias and Echo spar, “Why do you think she’s been the counselor for Aphrodite’s cabin for so long?” She said, glancing over at Blaze, “But Mathias has been fighting for a long time too, so he’s not exactly an easy opponent.”
Echo tightened her grip on her swords and managed to keep hold of one, but lost the other as Mathias wrenched it out of her left hand. Narrowing her eyes and jumping a few steps back, she studied him for a quick second before changing her stance, gripping her remaining sword with both hands and swinging at Mathias.
“I don’t normally lose control like that.” Phoenix said, crossing her arms and leaning against a tree, “And it didn’t really feel like my normal fire ability, it felt different.”

"That's more like it." Mathias rumbled, now fighting one sword against one. He was always impressed by her strength, so much held in her leaner body compared to his larger one. Mathias stepped back at her swing, now stronger with both her hands providing support. He gritted his teeth, swinging his in return.
"Different? How so?" Lyra tilted her head curiously, inwardly feeling a coil of delight that she seemed to be getting more information than she expected. What could Phoenix be talking about?

Blaze tossed a smiled in Kumiko's direction. Head counselor was something he had always dreamed of, but the thought of having to replaced one of his siblings was too grim to think about. His smile faded as he turned back to analyze the fight for a little while longer. "You're not wrong about either," he mentioned. His eyes followed one of Echo's swords to the ground before she swung again. This is so close to call...

“I’m glad to see that you aren’t holding back.” Echo said, giving Mathias a small smirk and exchanging a few more blows. She managed to jump a few feet away to get a quick rest and to quickly take stock of her surroundings. The daughter of Aphrodite spotted her other sword laying not too far behind Mathias, then turned her attention back to the son of Ares, not wanting to give away anything she was planning, “I would hate to think that I won because you didn’t want to give it your all.” She added, lunging at him.
Phoenix gave a sharp shake of her head, why was she even telling Lyra all this? It’s not like she regularly hung out with the girl. Huffing, Phoenix quickly turned away, “I don’t know. It was probably nothing. Just some stupid feeling, it doesn’t matter.” She said, shoving her hands in her pockets and starting to move off, “I’m going on with my walk.” She said.
Kumiko gave Blaze one of her sunny smiles, “I’m hardly wrong.” She teased, eyeing Echo’s next moves, “Some of my friends find it annoying, but I like to think it’s one of my better qualities.”

James just turned more scarlet and said," W-what." He then shook his head and said," Will you please both stop, I don't think of anyone like that." “Really? No one at all?” Evelyn teased, nudging James’ shoulder with her own. “I promise you we won’t taunt you for it. I’ll even help you out like you want to help me out.” She offered, humor in her voice. “Darling, I can hook anyone up.” Rosaline added in, inspecting her nails. “A girl knows her way around romance.” |

Though, something held him back again, the feeling deep down that a committed relationship with him was...not going to be something anyone would probably want. He shook the thought away, before he focused on the fight once more and swung his sword, aiming to strike her as she lunged. Lyra watched her go for a moment, now more interested than ever. Phoenix was clearly hiding something, and whatever it was made her nervous. Perfect then. She smiled lightly, before chuckling. “Alright then! Sorry for bugging you, Phe. Have a great walk, alright?” |

Blaze gave a huff of his breath and shook his head with a smile. "If I can be honest with you, why would that bother them? That's seems like a good trait to have especially cause it shows you are a reliable friend and an intelligent person," Blaze mentioned. Suddenly, his cheeks grew red and hot as he tried to focus on the battle instead of what he had just done.

Brennan waited for Shadow outside the Big House, his hands in his pockets. Luckily Shadow didn't take long. He nodded to him. "Of course." He said as the two began watching once more. "Yeah, I've got training. Did Chiron say you could train, or just do chores?"

Shadow tossed a long sigh from his chest through his mouth then slowly interlaced his fingers behind his head. He shook his head and gave a small eye roll. "To my immediate objection, no training. Only chores for now," Shadow grumbled. Then again, training was what got him into this mess to begin with and he didn't feel like losing control of his abilities a second time in a week.

Echo dodge to the left and quickly brought her sword up to block his, bracing the flat of her sword against her forearm. Using her momentum, she gave the sword a shove and ducked into a roll, grabbing her second sword before coming back up into a crouch with both swords in her hands once again. She stood in a steady stance and gave Mathias a grin, “Good to know.” She said.
Phoenix gave a half hearted wave and continued on her walk, moving a little deeper into the woods.
Kumiko blinked and looked over at Blaze before giving him a bright smile, “Aw, geez, aren’t you sweet?” She said, giving a light laugh.

"As fast as you are, I'm starting to understand the way you fight and move. You best be careful, or I'll read you like a book." He smirked. |

A side smile formed over Blaze's lips, but he didn't dare to fully look at Kumiko, afraid his face was blush red again. "More like spicy," Blazes said with a chuckle. "Remember son of the fire god?" Finally, he turned his head to look over at Kumiko, a slick smile on his face.

She straightened her stance and swung her swords at him in a frontal attack. Kumiko laughed, “Whatever.” She said, shaking her head. She nodded towards Echo and Mathias, “Looks like they’re about to finish up soon.” Chuckling to himself, Blaze turned his head back to battle hearing Kumiko's observation. "Wanna go next?" Blaze asked with a bit of a side-eye to the small Japanese girl next to him. "Wait... No, no, no. You use hidden weapons." He held his hands up in 'I'm good' gesture. Despite needing to be ready to fight any enemy, Blaze was not used to fight with close combat. ________ Shadow shook his head, "I mean that's up to you. I just thought even if I couldn't do much I'd still go to see if I can use it for analysis for future strategy." He wasn't trying to convince Brennan to go to his lessons, but just thought he could use some valuable knowledge even if he wasn't participating. |

Whatever works best for each of us, I'm the same way. Posting on the weekends is pretty much nonexistent at the moment because of hockey. I literally get one Saturday in April and one in May to where I don't have a home game. I'll just wait for Ice to post so I know where to go)
