Lunette shrugged. "Alright, I don't see why not. Why don't we move away to an area where deflected arrows aren't at risk of hurting anyone."

Hunter rolled his eyes lightly before taking his stance. “It’s too bad I have the first move. This will be easy and short.” He moved forward quickly, faking right before lunging left to swipe up at her.

Roxana looked over at Jacob, “You coming or not?” She said, “We’re not going to bring any food for you either.” She added.

Jacob stretches. “Fine fine, let me just put on some jeans.” He got out of bed and fumbled around till he found some pants to pull on over his boxers.

Roxana tapped her foot impatiently, “Come on, they’re not going to keep breakfast out all day!” She said.

“Fine. I guess that’s a doable condition. I’d hate to fling an arrow into Hunter or Sasha’s arms, after all.” Mathias drawled out, clearly not minding all that much if he happened to. He did not want to disrespect the Huntress though, moving to follow after her.
Sasha noted that indeed, Hunter’s speed was something to watch out for. She had to move quickly to lift her sword into a block, stepping back at the strength he had in his strike. Growling lightly, she pushed her sword against his and shoved forwards, aiming to try and throw h off balance.
Kyo looked away as Jacob got himself ready, before looking back once he was done. He shuffled at Roxana’s side, attempting to fix his hair once again, noticing a few strands out of place. “If you rush Jacob, he might just go slower on purpose.” He reminded his half-sister.

“Well, if he goes any slower, I’ll leave without him.” Roxana said, crossing her arms.

Lunette nodded curtly to Mathias. She turned to head to a more secluded area.

Mathias followed the Hunter, his fingers wrapping firmly around the hilt of his blade. He would have to get it forged soon, with how often he used it. Even so, he trusted the blade to be able to provide enough defense to deflect properly.

When Lunette felt they were at a safe distance, she turned and looked over at Mathias. She slid an arrow out of the quiver. "Ready?"

Mathias readied his blade, spinning it once into position as he steadied into a light-footed but sturdy stance. He nodded sharply and called out. “Don’t go easy on me, Huntress.”

Lunette raised her eyebrow at the male. Akay took to the air when she knocked the arrow on the drawstring. She give Mathias a few shots just to see his skill then maybe kick it up a notch. Aiming the arrow straight at him, Lunette released.

Mathias took a deep breath, before he gave a light growl, turning sharply with his sword to tilt the blade in a deflective motion. He felt the clang of the arrowhead against the sword, a quick spark lighting the contact point. He grunted at the force of the arrow, impressed with her clear skills in archery.

Lunette squinted in interest. This guy was good. While Akay flew down to recollect her arrow, Lunette quickly nocked and fired another, aiming lower than before.

Mathias followed the quick notch and tilt of her bow, moving with the blade as he maneuvered it low, gripping the hilt tightly as he stiffened in the stance. The arrow singed off the metal, more sparks lighting as he exhaled deeply. He could tell her speed would increase over time, and mentally began to prepare for it.

When the arrow deflected Akay swooped down and snatched it in his talons. Lunette's lip curled at the way Mathias deflected her shots. He was good, she'd admit that, and she found herself wanting to be better--without critically wounding him, of course.
One after the other, Lunette rapid fired two arrows at the Ares kid.

Not used to such speed from any prior archer before, Mathias had to grunt in admission, managing to deflect one arrow, but only after moving to avoid it’s twin. He cursed lightly at his own instincts, reminding himself that the goal was to deflect, not dodge. If the arrow struck him, he would simply learn from it.
He shook his arm and called. “Again, with the two at once, if you would please.” He asked.

"Two at once, huh?" Lunette caught the arrows that Akay dropped back to her. The eagle flew off to fetch the ones she just fired. "You're pretty good, deflecting and dodging like that." She rapid fired two more arrows.

“The aim isn’t to dodge.” Mathias rumbled, steadying himself as he gave a growling grunt, bringing his sword up in two slashes to sling the arrows into the metal of the blades. The force brought him back a step, but he held steady, nodding in gratitude.

Lunette had to admit she was impressed with his skills. If he wanted to keep challenging himself, she'd be more than happy to help him, but idly, she wondered if this was a trait that all males shared. Lunette pulled two arrows from her quiver, nocking them both on the drawstring and fired.

Mathias was ever so slightly off, the flash of his blade striking the arrows, but sending one grazing down near his foot. It grazed the skin of his ankle, and he exhaled deeply at the sting of his skin. Blood welled up at the slash, but if he was bothered by it, he did not state so. He nodded again to Lunette, switching his stance.

Again, Lunette pulled two arrows from her quiver. She had noticed the scrape Mathias took from her arrow, but wasn't bothered by it, it was just a scrape after all. With two arrows nocked, she fired again.

Mathias grunted as he slashed once, twice, again, deflecting the arrows. Now he was beginning to get into a better pattern, like a dance or a well-choreographed spar. Perhaps now it would be time to add more movement to the practice. He called out. "I can try deflection while moving, if you would be willing. I don't doubt that you can hit any moving target, but I have not trained enough in moving deflection. Help me out, and I can owe you a favor, Huntress." He offered with a hint of anticipation at the prospect of harder training.

Lunette raised her eyebrow with interest. A favor? She wasn't sure what she'd do with a favor from this guy, but at the moment, she was just content firing arrows at something, sharping her aim. When Akay returned to her with her arrows. Lunette took a couple of steps and continued as if circling Mathias. She went back to firing only one arrow at a time, but her shots were quick.

Mathias moved with her this time, flexing the blade upwards as his body moved with the motion. Now with the added movement from both of them, it was much more difficult. The sting on his ankle was shoved away to the back of his mind, the thrill of the fight overtaking him as it usually did. He grinned a bit, before lashing at another arrow, feeling satisfaction at each clang of arrowhead on metal. Just a few more, and-
He grunted as one of the later arrows flickered past his vision. A miss, a failure to deflect on his part. He did not move to dodge, instead turning his body so the arrow would instead lodge into a non-lethal section of his arm. The son of Ares grunted at the burn of pain from the wound, though it was more at his own mistake than anything.

Lunette lowered her bow when Mathias was hit, her brow furrowed and she tried to determine what happened. Which each arrow, she was specific on where she wanted it to go, but the arrow in his arm now wasn't where she intended it.

"Good shot." He rumbled to Lunette, looking at the arrow in his arm with a flicker of aggravation at his own inability to deflect it. He grunted, moving to snap off the end, leaving the arrowhead inside. It would be foolish to rip the arrow out and let himself bleed everywhere. The healers could remove and patch it up easily. He supposed he wouldn't be able to deflect much more.
"Thank you for entertaining my request." He mused, smirking a bit through the coil of pain in his arm. "Once I get this little bastard out, I'll have to repay you." He decided.

Lunette shrugged. "No rush." She collected the arrows Akay brought back to her and slipped them back into her quiver, returning her bow to her back. "You must be a son of Ares? Or Athena? I never caught your name, pin cushion."

"Pin cushion. That's a new one. Typically bastard or bull-head are the popular names." Mathias snorted, a short and easy laugh with a hint of challenge. "You guessed right on the first try. I assume my temper is too sour to be a darling child of Athena. Ares is indeed my father. Stuck it in and swept off as he normally does. As for the name, Mathias. Means gift of god, though that might not be all that accurate. You can decide on that one, Huntress." He said bluntly, forgetting for a moment the kind of lifestyle the Huntress had sworn herself to.

"Well, I've got one pin in you, don't I?" Lunette placed her hand on her hip and pointedly looked at his wound. "I plan on adding more if we keep this training up." She didn't appear at all bothered by his blunt crudeness. "I've never Ares, but I've heard enough about him that I don't doubt your tales. Seems all the other gods and goddess are like him. I'm thankful Artemis is disciplined and moral enough to keep to the Hunt and not mingle in the affairs of mortals." She walked up to Mathias after slipping her bow on her back. With a friendly smile, she held her hand out. "Nice to meet you."
