Phoenix shrugged at Kyo’s question, “Who knows. Those two have been dancing around each other for years.” She said, a playful smirk on her face as she looked at her siblings. “Honestly, I think he just needs a little push in the right direction.”
Nova blinked at Ryder’s answer and shook her head at him. So it hadn’t come from him or Rey then. “No… like I said, I found it on my bed this morning when I woke up. I highly doubt the wardens would get me something like that, it’s too expensive. I don’t think they even know when my birthday is.” She said, resting her arms on her bed as she watched Ryver open the bag. “I didn’t have time to properly look at it though, I was running late for school again, so I hid it under my bed before I left.” There was only two things inside the bag, a small pocket knife and a note that was addressed to Nova.

“Hm?” Kyo mused, giving Phoenix a curious yet somewhat anticipating look. “What kind of push did you have in mind? Might it require some technical skill?”
Ryder did not like the sight of the pocket knife, yanking it out and placing it away from Nova on the bed. It was the note that he was most interested in. He held it up to Rey and Nova. “It’s addressed to Nova. I do n’t like this at all. Someone’s been breaking in if this was left here. I swear to god, if I have to stab someone, I’ll wait at the window tonight.” He growled, though he gave the note to Nova. “What’s it say?”

“Hmm, I’m not quite sure yet, but I’ll think of something.” Phoenix said with a shrug, looking at Jacob to see if he was ready yet.
Nova eyed the pocket knife before she took the note from Ryder and opened it, her eyebrows furrowing as she read it, “It’s a bit early, but I had a feeling you might be needing these sooner rather than later. Happy early birthday. -A. There’s a dove next to the A, look.” Nova held the note up for her brother and sister to see, a confused look on her face, “I have no idea who A is.” She said with a shrug.

"You always do." Kyo hummed innocently, before he stood beside Roxana and turned his head to look at where Jacob had walked off to.
"This A person can screw right off with all that." Ryder growled pointedly, not liking the note one bit. The handwriting was beautiful, but the sense that this person seemed to recognize Nova made his instincts skyrocket. He swallowed. "Yeah. We need to get the hell out of here, before this person sends you a bomb or a gun next time." He looked at the knife. "Keep this though. May as well use it for protection." He muttered, checking it carefully for any bugs or any kind of poison or tampered piece that could cut fingers.

Nova shrugged and grabbed the pocket knife from Ryder, inspecting it briefly before she picked up the leather bag again, “Well, at least whoever A is, they have good taste.” She commented. Nova set the bag and knife aside and picked up her school bag, dumping out the many textbooks, notebooks and loose papers that were inside it, “Not gonna need any of that anymore.” She said with a happy smile, shoving it off the bed. Nova stood up and moved over to her dresser and started pulling out some of her clothes. The hard part was deciding which ones she should take with her and which ones she could leave behind.

“We’ll meet map in a little bit.” Rey spoke before moving off to her own room to get ready. She walked in, mind whirling with thoughts. She had a hundred escape plans and she was trying to pick which one. It took her a minute to notice something on her bed. She frowned and walked over to it. There was a folded up map next to an envelope addressed to her. On top of the map was a silver chain with an owl charm on it. She picked up the necklace and looked it over before picking up the card and opening it.
Jacob went to grab his things, throwing the trap in his messy bag and slinging it over his shoulder. He grabbed his celestial bronze knuckles and his kukai before heading back out to everyone. He still has a sour look on his face.

Ryder still seemed weary of the bag, though he quickly followed after Rey to prepare himself. That was, until he stiffened when he noticed a similar envelope on his own bed, with what looked like a silver and gold wristband on it. He looked stiffly at Rey. “What the hell is going on?”
Kyo blinked once at Jacob, glad to see him ready. Though, he certainly did not look too pleased.

Nova gave her siblings a distracted nod, still focused on her clothes as she sorted through them. She could easily leave behind anything that was old or didn’t fit her anymore, so she started grabbing the stuff that she wore the most and tossed them onto her bed. Nova started packing the clothes into her school bag, frowning lightly when she noticed that she wouldn’t even be able to take half the clothes that she wanted to bring. Letting out a sigh, she looked at the leather bag, wondering how much she could fit in there. It didn’t look that big, at least big enough to hold a few big items and maybe her meager art supplies, but that was about it. Nova picked the bag up and opened it, glancing inside it for a moment before looking back at her clothes. Maybe she could fit a few in there.
Phoenix grinned at Jacob once he was ready and shrugged her jacket on, “Don’t forget your coats, kiddos! It’s colder in the city than it is here.” She reminded them, looking at Kyo and Roxana. She knew that those two were more used to the hot summer days than the cold, and thanks to the borders around the camp, they never really had to worry about any bad weather.
Echo paused when she spotted Jacob leave the Forge, catching the irritated look on his face, “Hey, Jacob. Why the sour look?” She asked.

Kyo stiffened at the thought of having to trudge in the cold. For a moment, he was tempted to stay behind just to avoid it, but he didn't want to miss the chance to do things with his half-siblings. Admittedly, he always was desperate to just know that they were always alive and well, after... He pushed the thought away before it could make his heart ache. Instead, he pulled on a thick sweatshirt, huffing lightly to showcase his displeasure with the approaching cold. "Thank you, for reminding me."

Nova paused in her packing, blinking in surprise when she noticed that no matter how much she put into her new bag, it still seemed to have space left. How is this even possible? She thought to herself, picking the bag up and inspecting it again. It seemed like the bag hadn’t gained any weight from what she had already put in it either. Nova hummed thoughtfully as she looked around her room, wanting to test out her theory. Spotting her sketchbook, which was definitely too big to fit in, Nova picked it up and started putting it in. “No way.” She said when the sketchbook easily slipped inside the bag.

"Mine says the same." Ryder grunted as he heard Rey read her letter aloud. He gingerly held the wristlet up, inspecting it wearily, before he hissed. "I don't like this. A stranger left us, what, jewelry? This has a hit written all over it." He shook his head sharply, tossing the letter down and moving to quickly gather his stuff. At least the wristlet could be worth some money, if he sold it. To keep it safe, he put it on his right wrist, watching the metal gleam, before he scoffed sharply and started pulling out a small but efficient amount of clothes.

Rey wasn’t as quick to write it off as Ryder. She inspected the letter, the writing much different than Nova’s. While still signed A, the right was much more concise and perfectly printed. She moved to inspect her brothers letter and the writing match perfectly. Nova’s had been much more flowy and different. “Hey hold on.” She spoke. “Our two letters.. the writing matches but it’s really different than Nova.” She looked at her brother.

“You’re really looking into this?” Ryder asked Rey with a light huff, though it was clear his shortness came from his desire to keep his sisters safe. He looked at the notes, grunting in thought. “So it’s two people who are probably stalking us. Great…” He sighed, before he noticed Rey’s look. “I know that look. You’re taking it seriously. Come on, Rey, it’s not a mystery, it’s more likely a felony.” He tried.

Nova’s smile grew as she started packing her clothes into the small bag, amazed that no matter how much stuff she put in it, there was always space left over for more. “I wonder if I can fit all of my belongings in here?” She wondered out loud. Nova dumped out the clothes that she had already packed into her school bag and put those into the leather bag as well. She looked around her room and picked up the box that she had hid most of her more precious possessions and emptied that into the bag as well. “Hmm, what else can I put in here?”
Kumiko pulled her coat on and grabbed her bag before quickly making her way back towards the Forge. She came to a stop when she saw Echo and gave her friend a wave, “Hey, Echo!” She said brightly.
Echo waved back at Kumiko, glancing back at Jacob and the others. Were they planning on going out of camp?
Phoenix looked at Jacob, “We ready to go?” She asked.
Roxana pulled her jacket on and picked up a large scarf as well, wrapping it around her neck and covering her mouth and nose with it as well.

“C’mon Ryder.” Rey looked at him. “You have to admit it’s weird. Someone magically gives us gifts right as we are about to leave.” She spoke. “Whoever this A is they clealry have an interest.” She moved back to her bed and picked the map up. She unfolded it and dropped it on the bed with surprise. The map had been blank but when she unfolded it images began to appear, like the mauraders map almost. It showed a small dot in the middle with the name Rey next to it and it showed a map of the surrounding area.

Jacob nodded. “Yeah let’s go.” He said heading for the woods. It was easiest to sneak out of camp through the woods. “We can catch a bus at the connivence store.”

“Of course they have an interest. An interest to kidnap or kill us the second we step foot outside of the-“ Ryder’s sarcastic remark was cut short when Rey’s map unraveled. He stared at the oddity, eyes wide as he whispered. “What… the hell… is that?”

“I’ll catch up with you guys.” Echo said, turning to go grab her own bag and jacket from her cabin. She hadn’t expected Jacob to ask her to come along, but she was glad for the distraction and the opportunity to get out of camp for a bit. She made her way into the Aphrodite cabin, grabbing her jacket and shrugging it on before picking her bag up from her bunk bed, slinging it over her shoulder.

You won’t believe this!” She said excitedly, barging into the room. She came to a stop when she saw them looking at something on Rey’s bed, “What are you looking at?” “Some kind of possessed map, I-“ Ryder stammered, before he looked sharply at his sisters. “Did we eat something without knowing? I- we have to be on some kind of drug right now, maps don’t do that!” He exclaimed, getting more weirded out by the second. |

Nova’s smile grew and she opened the bag to show them, “I did! I packed everything in here! And I mean everything!” She said, reaching into the bag and pulling her sketchbook. To prove her point even further, Nova dug into the bag even deeper until she was elbow deep and pulled out several of her shirts. “It’s endless! I bet I could fit all of your guys’ stuff in here too!” Nova said, looking up at her brother and sister with an excited grin.

Ryder stared with a stunned expression, looking ready to panic. “That’s not normal! This isn’t normal, are you not even the least bit concerned about- This is-“ He took a long breath to calm himself, exclaiming in a frantic hush. “Nova, pull your arm out of that-… How is that possible?”

“You’re kidding me.” Rey said in exasperation. “A magic bag? There is no way that thing has that much room.” She spoke. “We’ve been drugged.” She decided. “And the sooner we leave the sooner things will be normal again.”
