“Nova, you realize that this is physically impossible, right? Bags can’t-“ Ryder cut off, taking a long and deep breath, before he hurriedly finished his packing. “Rey’s right. We need to leave, now. So take the… magic bag? Dear christ, what the hell- and let’s go, okay?” He asked.

"Unbelievable." Ryder murmured, trying to calm his fired up nerves. Magic leather bags, some weirdoes with the initial "A" sending random gifts in their foster home? What the hell was next, a magic portal to Neverland? Ryder swallowed down the frightening and infuriating thought that maybe their foster parents had given them something to mess with their heads, incapacitate them. He felt a desire to go in and fight with them again, for daring to do something so illegal and awful, especially to a child like Nova.

“I mean I guess if it really is magic.. it wouldn’t hurt to throw all our stuff in.” Rey suggested lightly. “It would make it easier on all of us.” She spoke.

Nova hurried back to her siblings’ room after she had grabbed her jacket, closing the door quietly behind her, “Ready. Sounds like our fosters are going at it again. How are we going to get past them?” She whispered, not wanting to bring their foster parents attention to them and what they were planning.

Echo left her cabin and started towards we’re Jacob and the others were headed, knowing that she could easily catch up to them.

Phoenix walked next to Kyo and Roxana, whispering quietly to them, “When we get to the city, we should take off when he’s not looking. I bet he wants to spend some alone time with Kumiko, that’s probably why he asked Echo to come along, to keep us distracted or something.” She said.

Roxana gave a small nod of agreement, although she secretly wished that Shard had been with Echo at the time too. It would be nice to spend some time with him as well.

Rey quickly finished packing, throwing the stuff she would need immediately in her backpack and throwing the rest of her stuff in Nova’s magic backpack. She made sure she had everything within easy arms reach she’d need. “Well you need time to get to the safe for money.” She looked at Ryder. “Nova and I will be a distraction.”

Shard popped up next to his sister, an easy grin on his face. “Where you think you’re heading off too?” He asked teasingly.

Nova nodded in agreement, “I’m ready whenever you are, Rey!” She whispered excitedly. Nova was more than ready to say goodbye to this place and their so called foster parents.

“Heading into town with Jacob, his siblings and Kumiko.” Echo responded with her own grin, “Why, you want to come with?” She asked, arching her eyebrow at him.

Roxana nodded eagerly at the suggestion of an antique store, “I bet we could find some interesting stuff there.” She said quietly.

“Then it’s agreed. We take off once we get off the bus.” Phoenix said with a mischievous grin.

Shard’s grin turned into a light frown. “Do you think that’s a good idea? With all that’s going on you shouldn’t be leaving camp.” He said, voice sounding more serious.

Nova hurried after Rey, staying close by her. Despite her excitement, she could feel nerves flitting through her as they went down the stairs. “Um, where are we going to go eat?” She asked, trying to play the part.

“Relax, we’ll be fine.” Echo said, nudging Shard in the arm. She nodded towards the small group they were walking towards, “There’s a group of us, so there’s safety in numbers. You’re more than welcome to join us, I’m sure Roxana would love to have you with us.” She added in a light teasing tone.

Phoenix noticed Shard as well and looked at Kyo, her grin growing wider, “Well, would you look at that.” She said, giving Roxana a nudge.

Roxana looked up at Phoenix’s nudge, feeling a small blush form on her cheeks when she noticed Shard. She pulled her scarf up further and hurried after Jacob and Kumiko, “L-let’s h-hurry up.” She stuttered.

Kyo watched Shard’s eyes flit over to Roxana, and he leaned over to Phoenix to whisper. “Oh, he’s made it so obvious, he’s looking right at her right now.” He teased, glancing at Roxana with a knowing twinkle in his eyes.

Ryder waited for the sound of their fosters’ yelling, as they left the bedroom. Slipping quickly down the hall, he slid into the open door, veering right to the walk-in closet. The safe was in here, tucked in the corner beneath a pile of clothes. Huffing silently, he worked quickly to access the dial.

Kyo chuckled quietly. “No worries. I won’t tease.” He promised, though it was clear that he was a little coy. It would be funny to see how it went. Though, a small part of him wondered if there was anybody who would look at him the way Shard looked at Roxana, or how Jacob looked at Kumiko. The quiet and dark voice in his mind reminded him who he really was, what he had done, how dangerous he was even to those he loved most. He stiffened for a second, the horrible phantom smell filling his nose again, before he snapped back into the present, and coughed lightly. “Sorry…, ah. Let’s go, then.”

“Ooh! Well, someone’s in a mood!” Rosaline gasped as she felt pebbles bounce off her skin. Luckily, none touched her face or eyes. She closed her magazine, sitting up and lifting a brow as she lowered her sunglasses and chuckled. “Hey there, James. You doing alright?”

"Well, now you have someone to hang out with." Rosaline decided, sitting up to look casually at the boy. "You know, your sister's totally trying to hit it off with Drake right now. She ran right to the Nike cabin to give him some sugar." She teased. "Desserts, I mean." She crossed her legs daintily, before she asked. "I was just looking at my magazines for this season's fashion. A sneaky trip to New York, and these babies will be mine for my closet." She hummed.

"I think it's cute." Rosaline teased, before she blinked at James with surprise. "You want to go into the city now? It's just the two of us, you know. I don't know how much we'd do against monsters... though, I suppose if we're sneaky enough." She hummed, looking contemplative, before she gave a sweet smile. "Deal. We can swing by and tell him his daughter's doing just fine. He'd like that." She stood to her feet. 

“Honey, all you need is a coat and a cute smile. I can handle the rest.” Rosaline smiled, her glossed lips quirking up as she patted her washed jean pocket. “A girl’s got ways of getting her money, babe. But don’t worry about all that. We can take a bus or a taxi. Taxis will stop for me.” She humored, knowing how to use her looks to get what she wanted.
