I finished all of the Shadow Glass comics for the hell of it. It was meh. If I didn't know who 90% of the characters were, I'd have been bored to tears.

Finished "Clap When You Land". I loved the author's first book "The Poet X", and CWYL lived up to the standard set by it. I've never been fond of the idea of a novel in verse cause I'm not much of a poetry reader, but I really will read anything Acevedo writes in the future she has such a way with words.

I stopped reading for a little due to school, so now have a ton of Binge Reading opportunities. Yesssssss! Howl's Moving Castle! All things written by Diana Wynne Jones is good, honestly.

mintedstar/fur Sleepless Domain from what I know (I saw some of the earlier pages but forgot to keep up lol) is basically a magical girl story? Like in the world monsters break in at night (there's some kind of magical barrier around the city and it manages to keep the monsters out during the day I think?) and magical girls are trained to fight them. The main character was part of a magical girl team that were all killed by a monster, and the only other survivor lost her powers during the attack. Idk if the rest of the story is about trying to find the monster who killed the other team-mates or just the solo girl adjusting to fighting solo? There was also something weird going on with the 'magical barrier' that made me think possible government corruption. Now I kinda wanna get back into it lol

I’m currently reading The Sun Trail from Warriors for the first ever time and also just finished reading Lord of the Flies for school reading. Other books I am in the process of reading include Moneyball (really cool analytically based sports novel on how to win),Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (best HP book) and the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes from the Hunger Games

Rachel Caine, one of my favorite authors, who started me writing stories with humans, passed away yesterday. I just started my story for NaNo that was originally based off one of her books - then I recreated to just be my own stuff. I ... am very sad right now.

I miss this thread so even though this barely counts as reading, I caught up on Space Boy the other day! It's probably one of my favorite webcomics and the plot is getting so intense. I think we're heading into the final part of the story and I'm super excited to see how the author ties in all the plotlines.

So it's like a soft scifi story about a future that has some space colonization, and a girl (Amy) from a space mining colony moves back to earth after her dad is fired from said mining colony. She's in cryogenic sleep for the trip, but it takes thirty years so by the time she wakes up on earth where she is still a teenager, her colony friends are already middle aged adults who have their own kids so there's a lot of social displacement and culture shock. On earth she starts adjusting and meeting people, including a boy (the titular Space Boy, Oliver) who's super detached from everybody and focused on the "Nothing" of space. There's a larger plot that's kind of hinted at at first but eventually intersects with Amy's story and becomes the main plot about a spaceship that departed earth like 200 years prior to the main story. It was en route to an alien artifact that was found out in space, and it's tied to Space Boy's story.
I feel like it's hard to talk about any specifics without spoilers but it has really cute art, the story is fun and the characters are easy to get attached to, and it's made me cry at least once lol Oh also as a cool thing Amy has synesthesia! People are connected to flavors in her head (her best friend is pineapple jalapeno, her mom is mint, etc.)
I also love webcomics! I think Space Boy makes my top three, the other two are probably Wilde Life and Back comic but I read a whole bunch of others as well.

I just finished Everything Is Illuminated and I'm also working through the Royal Spyness mysteries. (I've only read the first 2 so far but I loved them).
Next on my list, in some order, are City of Girls, Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, Fangirl, and The Starless Sea.
I also need to get caught up on Warriors, I'm wayyyy behind lol.
