She gave an absentminded flick of her tail, noting he seemed upset about it too. At least he seemed genuine, she would trust him for now just like she hoped he would do for her. When he brought up the cats who might join, a prickle of anxiety slowly reached her up in her body. She knew this was a great possibility, even with Branchstar gone cats might not want to conform to the new plans for the clans. "I understand others may not join, they have choices in their future among the new clan. We are only after Branchstar, Stagstar, and their devout followers. Anyone else will be subdued during the battle but not maimed. Afterwards, they can choose to join us or leave the home they knew." She knew it sounded harsh, it was harsh in a sense but the future of the clans would only survive if this plan was followed and everyone in the new clan was on board. "They will have a probation period, maybe a half moon, to choose whether this is the life they want. I don't want to lose our clanmates but this isn't something they can be fickle on." She took a deep breath, trying to bring calm to herself once more. She knew several warriors who might leave, some she had share prey with or even tongues. She couldn't imagine a life without them but she also couldn't see the clans co-existing anymore with borders the way there were. One large border, one large clan. That was her plan from the start when she got close to the Magnoliaclan cats. They had all grown too close to sever ties once more, right? "I am fine playing the bad cat to those who are blind to the true peace this will be." She puffed her chest out, gaining confidence once more.
"As for if we will be ready, we will be as ready as we will ever be by then. I will get the last few straggling joiners trained the best they can be and set out the final plans of our fight." At least he wasn't arguing with her as much as she thought he would, maybe he was warming up to this? She knew little of the difficulty he was going through, being looked at in a new light due to the recent events and knowing full well a call to claws was forming under a lot of cat's knowing, one that will end the life of his mother most likely. She had more she wanted to say but she knew best to keep her mouth shut, she wanted to reassure him he was following the right side of this and that she had grown to admire his ability to risk abandoning all he knew. She didn't know how he would take this though, so it would remain unspoken till she felt the time was right. I'm not even sure if I can trust him but I feel I can.
{I'm thinking she might change her mind and do two separate clans once more but probably moons after everything if everything happens ^^;; }

(OOooh I like that. Like she's just like. Ah beans, this didn't work. )
Bramblenose stared at Maplechirp in obvious shock- because she was just willing to get rid of massive amounts of clan cats? This was beyond his own comprehension- because while he understood that Nettleclan and Magnoliaclan had turned into failures because of Stagstar and Branchstar, that didn't mean a two clan system didn't work. It just meant that they had two bad leaders that happened at the same time- nothing more than that. But right now, he wasn't sure if he'd be able to convince her because she was so obsessed with this idea and so convinced that she was right that he didn't think that she'd listen to reason.
"Listen- I don't think that Branchstar is... well. You know. Especially with the kits. But I think you should seriously reconsider forcing all of the cats to be in one clan. You don't know if you'd be overthrown because of it. I'll still- I'm not going to tell anyone. About you or any of the other cats who are planning this- I will go to the meetings and everything. But I want you to know my doubts." He said carefully, feeling as if his skin was crawling, because what if his siblings came back sooner rather than later?
He looked over, because he had to return to Driftpaw. "I'm going back to Driftpaw- my littermates should be back soon and I don't want them suspicious." He sighed finally, because the fact that all of this was happening so fast was troubling and he felt trapped for just a moment as he headed back to Driftpaw, waiting for the other warrior to follow him.

His worries were nothing new to her, she had heard it before and would probably hear it for the rest of her days. "I get that but for the time being this is how it will work for us, if an uprising comes from the new clan then I'll be honestly shocked. The new clan will be able to have the voices heard of others, we won't let others sit in their feelings for too long. Right now, all I hear from most cats in our group is that this idea is a good one for us. I have no idea how the others will feel but I'm sure they will be able to live like this after living the way they are right now."
When he brought up returning, Maplechirp turned to make her own leave. "Mull over it for a bit, Bramblenose. The trickle of time is running faster and faster each passing day, you will need to make up your mind in only a half moon now." She took the first step to leave before a feeling of dread filled her and she turned back to him. "I don't want you to feel like your own life is in danger if you choose not to join us, I don't want to hurt you. I know you're not just a mindless follower of your mother, I will protect you." With those final words she took off through the forest, trying to keep silent as she made her way back to the camp. I will keep Bramblenose safe, even if he betrays us. I can see the concern for those kits in his eyes, if he doesn't join us I can't bring myself to let such a great warrior die.
Driftpaw stood waiting for his mentor, shifting the weight on his paws as he tried to listen in. He couldn't hear it all, just bits and pieces that left him even more confused than before. Something about a meeting and choices but he couldn't figure out what it all meant. When his mentor returned, he gave him a quizzical look. Sure, he was probably too young to know of what was fully going on but he had been hearing little pieces every now and then in the nursery so his curiosity was at an all time high when he realized Bramblenose was involved in whatever Maplechirp and his mother was keeping a secret for the kits.

(Hngg okay I'm not adjusting as well as I thought I would to full time. Sorry for inactivity!)
That night, Bramblenose knew he had to go to this meeting. If he didn't Maplechirp would be even more suspicious of his intentions and the last thing he wanted was more uncertain looks his way. So he told Branchstar he'd be night hunting, he wanted to get some extra food in because he'd be training his apprentice and it would take awhile before Driftpaw would be able to get the amount of food Branchstar expected from two cats, and she seemed fully pleased by his reasoning and let him go off and do so.
It bothered him how easy it was to manipulate a mother that he had often seen as beyond paranoid. So he shook off that crawling feeling that he was getting every time he lied to another one of his clnamates. What, exactly, have you gotten into? The warrior thought to himself, forcing back a sigh as he slipped quietly out of the camp. Maplechirp, he noted with a sniff, was already gone. Which meant that he'd be late- great.
Well, he might as well find something to hunt on his way, because he'd have to bring something back so Branchstar wasn't suspcious. He'd managed to catch a couple of mice near the camp, slowly making his way towards the meeting place in such a way that wasn't suspcious.

The tom had been watching Bramblenose very closely, he knew as much as he could know about the meetings being set up. The cats involved were being easier to pick up now that he had a better time frame. The meetings were more or less on a schedule, usually happening once a quarter moon on a certain day. Today wasn't that day though but more and more of her 'informants' were leaving to go to the woods. He found it very humorous that they'd pick tonight to do an impromptu meeting, one when his own group would be. He brought himself off his paws and followed Bramblenose.
The tom was always confused to why the kit of the leader was joining them, he had to be forced or something else along the lines. He never imagined in his life he would see one of them actually listening to the betrayer's rantings. Maybe she had him brainwashed like the others, of times before the leader they had now lead them. He couldn't remember these times himself, having only been a kit in the nursery when it all came to fruition. He couldn't imagine a life without the leader either, she was strict sure but her word was the law of the clans and he would follow her to the ends of the earth. He watched Bramblenose hunting in the shadows, amazed at the catches he could find in the pitch darkness of the forest. He tried to not let him stray too close to the meeting place, it would prove itself to be too difficult if he let him. Finally after a few more moments of following, he jumped free from the shadows and stood in front of Bramblenose, staring him down. "What are you doing, Bramblenose?" He asked innocently, he would give him a chance to explain himself but if he gave another excuse of night hunting he would have to be more direct with questions. We will also have to work harder to undo any brainwashing he's received, I'm sure Pineclaw will know what to do though.

(Haha thanks. It should be getting better after the first week and I"ll definitely be more available on the weekends too.)
Unfortunately, because Branchstar had quickly discovered Bramblenoses fear of the dark, she had often ordered his mentor to train him at night to "get over it". Unfortunately, night time battle training only made him more fearful and it absolutely backfired on her, not that she knew. At least he was exceptionally good at hunting prey, though, and it was probably the only good thing that had come out of the relentless moons of trying to beat the fear out of him. Of course he nearly lept out of his own skin as Sagewish stepped out of seemingly nowhere. He'd been so focused on catching prey to not look suspicious that he hadn't picked up Sagewishes sent.
"Foxdung- Sagewish! I was hunting, and now you've just about scared off any easy prey here!" He hissed, startled, before forcing his fur back down because he wasn't the reactive sibling. "No- sorry. Sorry. I should have been more aware of my surroundings. I didn't mean to snap." He sighed, shaking out his pelt and flashing Sagewish a quizzical look. He highly doubted that Sagewish would be going to Maplechirps meeting, so he'd have to play this carefully. "Since I have an apprentice now, I offered to take up more night hunting roles. Driftpaw won't be able to reliably catch prey for a bit and I needed to find a way to better provide for Nettleclan. " He explained, sitting down and tilting his head to one side, looking down at Sagewish with open curiosity. "What about you, Sagewish? What are you doing out here?"

His words weren't convincing, instead they went in one ear and out the other. He was sure he was just hunting, it was an easy excuse to give and he had heard it plenty of times before. Unlike those times though, he wouldn't let the cat slip out of his vision. Bramblenose was up to more than just hunting, he could tell by the fear scent on his pelt. If he was just hunting, then surely he wouldn't be so startled to run into another clanmate, right? It was a common occurrence to see other cats out here doing the same. He put his head to the side, trying to think of how to properly word everything running through his mind.
"Oh you know, I was hunting too. Isn't it funny how more and more cats are willing to take part in this new tradition for us? Kinda funny to me actually, even Maplechirp has been more willing to go out at night." Her name was spoken with such malice that one would think he had a personal vendetta against her. Which in honesty, he kind of did. He never hated a cat more than he did that traitor. It'll all be over soon though, she will be gone from existence and the clan can carry on without these silly thoughts. "I've been thinking about that a lot, why the one who seemed so unwilling to partake in these suddenly is one of the biggest supporter. Don't you find that a bit weird? You wouldn't happen to know why she had the change of heart would you?" He tested, he knew he should outright say everything but it felt like skirting around the bush would be better for him right now. Bramblenose was already lying to him, he would have to force the answers out at this point.

Unfortunately for Bramblenose, even if he wasn't going to a traitorous meeting, he would have jumped at another clanmate. He just hated the night so much- it didn't matter that he could hunt exceptionally well in the darkness, it was just... creepy. Very, very, creepy to the warrior who was supposed to not be fazed by much because of his mother. Either way, he had a feeling that Sagewish was up to something, surprised at the venom in his voice at the name of Maplechirp. He eyed Sagewish for a moment, stomach tightening in knots as he carefully placed the mice he had caught under a root for safe keeping.
"Honestly, I haven't been paying much attention to that. I've just been trying to do my part," Which was bad in the sense that he was supposed to be leader one day, but better than acknowledging he knew the reasons why she was suddenly so supportive of it. "But I have a feeling that you want me to know something about it, instead. What do you really want, Sagewhisker? I need to get back to hunting before Driftpaws lessons." And he sounded almost tired at that, not looking at Sagewhisker and instead scanning the area and scenting the air, looking for another piece of prey to catch. Not that this was out of character for him- Bramblenose had always had a bit of a one tracked mind. If he was hunting, he was hunting and nothing else. It could less be seen as avoidance and more that Bramblenose was genuinely trying to do his job a s a warrior and he liked that.

He did not like Bramblenose just scooting around the real reason he was out. Night hunting was a big thing sure but it wasn't like he was needed tonight...several if not almost all of the clan chose tonight to do night hunting. To the leader it may look like they are supportive of her cause but he knew there was a hidden motive behind their willing nature right now. He didn't speak at first, instead of giving Bramblenose a shove to face him the other way. "Get to walking, your night hunting is over for the time being. There are more important matters at paw than the prey, you can pick up what you have later on." The rest of the cats were surely waiting on him now, wanting to start before the moon hung right above them in the sky. He had no choice but to take the tom by force, he wouldn't come willingly he was sure. He was probably ensnared by the liquid poison that is Maplechirp's words.
During all of this, Maplechirp was sitting perched on the rock, uneasy filling her gut as the last cats appeared but Bramblenose was nowhere to be seen. He couldn't have bailed on them already right? He seemed sure about showing up tonight but maybe her judgement was misplaced. Turning to Twilightpaw, she hopped down. "There's a change of plans, at the end of the moon I plan on having the battle. If we don't want it at the Moon Rocks then I've got an answer for us. It's risky but I'm willing to do it if you are. The night after the moon is just a sliver in the sky I plan on poisoning Branchstar's prey. I know it won't take out all her lives, just one but maybe we can take our chance then. I'm going to suggest for Magnoliaclan to do the same. Can you get your paws on Death berries?" She knew there would still be a blood bath before them that night, the supporters or both leaders wouldn't let them go down without a fight but she was prepared for this risk. With both leaders losing a single life, her and another cat can finish them off before the supporters can stop them, then it would just be convincing them to stand down, whether it's with claws or words.

(Also! Bogstar and Pineclaw look nearly the same. He takes after his mother pretty strongly. )
Bramblenose grimaced when he was shoved, ignoring the sinking feeling in his stomach, because this couldn't end well for him. Not for the first time, he was starting to think that all of this was too much work. Frankly, if it hadn't been for Driftpaw and his littermates being apprenticed too early, he would have been more than happy to keep his head down and plod along with his mothers plan for the rest of his life. It was too much effort, and if there was anything he was particularly against, he'd be able to change when he was a leader. But- his mother went too far. Even he was able to see that, be motivated to change this clan, even if he strongly disagreed with Maplechirps methods of doing so. So, instead of snarling and protesting, he just let out a soft sigh. "I don't know where we're going, Sagewish. You'll have to lead." He pointed out in an almost bored tone, the nervous energy from before gone because now there was another cat around and it was a clnamate. Sure, he was worried that Maplechirp would take this a betrayal, but he was confident that he could explain that he was caught later.
Great.
Well- this was better than attacking during a clan meeting. Twistedpaw pulled herself up just a little, she had been resting just below the rocks because traveling this far took a toll on her still-healing body, her ears perking up at the suggestion. "How many lives does she have left?" Which was a debate that was common among Nettleclan. Some, mostly her kits, insisted she had six lives left, that any other number was a rumor and blatantly false. Others, the elder cats who had been there since the beginning and had gone to battle with her insisted that it was three at most. The truth? Branchstar had two lives left. Most of them were wasted on pointless battles, or illnesses that she had forced herself and the clan to work through.
Only one was kept quiet, and only the medicine cat and her kits knew the truth about the lives that she had left.
"That's... It could work. But the moment she dies, they'll all know its you." She pointed out, even if they'd figure out either way. The apprentice looked thoughtful, as if tracking through the entire territory in her mind, trying to remember where the death berries were. "I can get some for you. If I can't get away during the time you need them, I'll be able to send Stormpaw or Runningcloud." Both Magnoliaclan cats who were currently at the meeting and that she fully trusted.
(We should definitely get a cat in here that wants to overthrow everything but Disagrees with Everything Maplechirp says. )

He took the lead but remained silent the whole time they walked, the moon would be hanging above them quickly and it certainly wouldn't be good if he arrived late. Unlike the cats following Maplechirp, they actually brought back a decent haul of prey after their meetings. He had reached the opposite side of the territory finally and pushed his way through two bushes. Once both were out the other side, it was obvious that these cats had something up their fur. Bramblenose's own brother, Pineclaw, was sitting near the back of the group. Sagewish turned aburptly to face Bramblenose once more, tail flicking behind him.
"You can continue to deny your involvement with what's going on, is she holding you hostage or something?" He asked, wondering what poison slipped out of Maplechirp's mouth. If he had a choice in the matter, the she-cat would already be dead but they had to wait. Letting her die now would leave an opening for more cats to rise to her position, they had to know how deep the loyalty to her ran. How many cats truly believed the words that spilled out or were just weak-willed, swaying with whatever prospect seemed easier to live by.
Maplechirp hesitated, shaking her head. "Her lives are up to debate, conflicting answers are everywhere but I feel if we can take at least one, we can use it to our advantage. While she is recovering from the loss, she will be weakened enough to have the rest taken. I am sure the same could be same for your leader." She turned her attention to the rest of the cats, all of them talking among themselves but no new faces showed from the outskirts of the clearing. Bramblenose wasn't coming, she would have to accept this as a fact. She'd give him a chance to explain himself tomorrow but if his excuses were not good enough then she'd push harder for it to happen sooner. Time was ticking away and they couldn't risk running out. "I would need some, yes, and as for if cats know it's me. That's fine, as I've said before I don't mind playing the bad cat to some for the sake of a better future. I would gladly die for this cause."

Bramblenose paused, now having calmed down just enough to not be as jumpy, looking unimpressed at the challenge. Ah- so Maplechirp wasn't as smart as she thought she was. Clearly she had either been overheard or asked the wrong cat to join her. His own tail lashed once, features tight and unimpressed. "Do you really think I'd fall for her hair brained schemes? I've been trying to get in and gain enough evidence to bring to my mother." The one thing that he was thankful for was his ability to think on his feet-to be convincing when he actually made the effort. It was the only way to survive as Branchstars kit, and right now he just hoped his reasoning made sense to Sagewish. "Which is what I was trying to do tonight, thank you very much." With a scowl. "How do you know about her plans, Sagewish?" Sounding both annoyed and... well. Tired. Because he was tired of all of this.
Twisetdpaw let out a small hum, not at all surprised. No bad leader would let on how long they had left and she wouldn't doubt that it was some form of control tactic. "Well. Let's just hope that she's on her last life already. It would make things so much more easier." Twistedpaw commented with a scowl as she flexed her claws into the ground before looking up. "Just be careful and make sure your ready. Obviously killing Branchstar won't put most cats onto your side." And from what she saw, there were more Magnoliaclan cats than there were Nettleclan. She looked over, seeing a couple of apprentices from opposing clans excitedly chatter, wondering how many truly wanted to live in harmony like the cats here were.

His eyes remained in slits as he thought of his own answer, he should be honest of course, unlike what the other cat had been. He brought himself into the sitting position, tail wrapping over his paws. He didn't break eye contact with Bramblenose, the anger still burning in his chest. "If you must know how I came into knowledge of all of this, it was pretty easy. It started with the cats who were almost never on night hunting patrols taking it upon themselves to go. At the same time." He paused, his body relaxing. He still didn't trust the tom before him but he could use his knowledge, the whole group could. He could become their inside cat among Maplechirp's group, it would help them find out when and where she was planning to do everything.
"Then I stumbled upon a meeting, I didn't stay long though. I'm fairly sure Maplechirp saw me, even if she did she didn't bring it up with me later on." He was still confused why she didn't just approach him, their eyes had locked that night. Perhaps she knew it was a lost cause to get him to join but it still didn't answer why she hadn't killed him, there were plenty of chances for the molly to take yet each time she continued as if things were normal.
She already knew she wouldn't exactly be a saint in the eyes of those around her once Branchstar fell, but she was counting on them all to give up and accept the leader was gone. It would give her time to gather them to their side, to see it was all worth it in the end. "It's the only way, Twistedpaw. If I thought sitting around and talking to Branchstar would solve our problems I would. Same with your leader but it's not possible for us. This is our only chance." She turned her gaze from her back to the outskirts of their gathering spot. Her heart was still sinking lower, the tom she had expected to show up was nowhere to be seen.
{Also about a cat in the group not being on board, I'm good with that (: Sorry it took two messages to reply to that I forgot to the first time Dx }
