Dawn The Wild-woods - Scorch ( Falconwing ) The she-cat sighed with a small smile creeping up her face. "Well, I thought a short change of scenery may be nice, and I was in the same situation. I'd only found a mouse in the grasses, which isn't quite enough to feed my mother and littermate." She looked out and around, scenting the air, listening in for little movements "I suppose some company couldn't hurt though." She gave some kind of a shrug as they moved on through the area. It was unfamiliar and janky, but she'd manage.

Scorch Voidastral Scorch was thrilled that Dawn was willing to accept his company and his curling tail expressed just that. Doing his best to step lightly as they made their way deeper into the Woodlands the hearty tom listened closely gearing all of the birds calling from the tree tops. If I was a fan of foxes I would almost be compelled to move back into the forest. I forget how beautiful if can be", he mewed casting his gaze back at Dawn seeing the sunlight flicker down and cast glowing dappled upon her pelt. "What forest prey is your favorite?", he questioned curiously as they continued forward.

Dawn The Wild-woods - Scorch ( Falconwing ) Dawn took a moment to think about that question. Or maybe she was just too busy admiring the forest around them. "I don't think I have much of a favorite. As long as it feeds me, I'm happy." She shrugged. Just about all prey tasted pretty good to her, maybe aside from the occasional fish, which never seemed to sit well in her stomach. "I don't think I'd ever move here though, it's much too dark and I'm much too light." The coon stated, looking back to her friend then to the forest scenery again. "Still, it is nice to visit around here."

Scorch Voidastral Scorch listened carefully to her words as he skirted around a muddy patch covered by decaying leaf litter. The scents of the forest were much different that the Highlands. There was little breeze and the world around him smelled of the sweet musty earth, and depending which trees were around them strong woody scents. The sudden scrambling of leaves in front of them quickly alerted the pair of a nice plump grey squirrel. Gasping as quietly as possible the tom perked up. "Let's try for this squirrel", he mewed excitedly, tail tip flicked to and feo in anticipation.

Stag calliope The vicious barking of a mangy dog caused Stag to jump and whip around to face the nasty mongrel. Sage and him had been wondering through the village all day in search of a specific herb to help heal a friend. Sadly they had only managed to get their paws on a small amount and were now on their way out of the village and back to their patient. Having a dog chase them was not how the exhausted tom wished to end his trip into the Upwalkers Village. To his relief the dog was trapped in a cage along with some goats, probably the herds guard dog. It wasn't uncommon to see a herd of goats or sheep in the grasslands roaming free with a dog loyalist guarding them while their upwalker was away. "Come on let's get out of here before we run into anything else", Stag meowed firmly as he turned back towards his mate giving her a gentle nudge.

In Upwalker Village - with Stag Sage simply nodded her eyes as she carried the herbs gently in her mouth while her fur stood on end, frazzled by the dog as well. You don't have to tell me twice! The multicolored molly didn't particularly care for coming into the village. In fact, most times she'd try to avoid, but Stag convinced her this was the last place the could potentially find the herb they needed. Sage picked up her pace, following her mate through each alley way until they finally made it back outside of it. The she-cat dropped the herbs momentarily while she took a breath. "You have no idea.. how much I hate going in there," she breathed, her odd colored gaze on his ginger pelt. "I don't see how other cats do it!"

Poppy, faithfully tagging beside Viper, caught her signal and let her separate. Almost before she had begun to scent, she unthinkingly obeyed Viper's quick flash of movement and words. The mouse sent easily toward her, she pounced her full weight on its scurrying round body and dispatched its neck. She plopped the catch in front of the darker she-cat proudly. "That's all yours. I'll never be as quick as you are with mice. How did you see it so quickly?" The young tabby admiringly beamed to her friend, glad she hadn't been a mere bystander to their hunt. Behind Viper's black pelt, a small tan colour stuck out from the green swathes that stretched beyond to the dunes. "Viper," she whispered, frozen still, "Do you recognise them?" It seemed to be a small cat, barely bigger than a kit, positioned almost motionlessly as it drank from a pooled ditch. Paralyzed, Poppy wished for the older she-cat to know the pelt, and hopefully identify it as friendly.

Stag calliope After they finally managed to leave the village behind them and trek north up into the grasslands Stag stopped them within the cover of a tall patch of grass. Hearing Sages voice, weighed heavy with relief and exhaustion, the russet tom turned and lovingly rubbed his body against hers. Sage had been willing to go into the village with him to search for the herb needed despite her reservations and hatred for the place. She wasn't wrong about despising the village, he too was not a fan of it but it had to be done if they were to save their friend. "Thank you for coming with me. I would not have been successful if it wasn't for that sharp nose of yours". In a smooth quick manner he turned back to face her and gave her nose a soft quick boop of a kiss. Viper Stealthfire Poppy quick caught brought a sense of delight to Viper. The mouse would make a nice quick meal between the two of them. The perfect amount to fuel them to resume the hunt and fill their bellies. "No we caught it together, we will eat it together." The older females tone was firm, almost as if to express the respect that was growing in Viper towards Poppy. All the young cat needed was guidance. With the proper instructions, and if Poppy had a little faith and confidence in herself, she could be a force to be reckoned with. As she bent down to take the first bite she was interrupted by Poppy before she could even swallow. Quickening her chew she picked her head up and turned to look east towards the Sandy Dunes. The young tabby was right. There was a cat out there. With the wind blowing the way it was, they stood no chance evading the cat. He would sniff them out before they could slip far enough away. Swallowing her bite she finally spoke. "No, his scent is strange to me. Maybe he's come from the Sandy Dunes in search of richer lands." Looking back a Poppy she added, "Quick eat the rest of that mouse before we meet whoever that is. Might as well try to make friends."

Dawn The Wild-woods - Scorch ( Falconwing ) Her eyes scanned the world around them. They never caught the squirrels, but her ears certainly did. With eyes to follow, there sat an empty space and rustling that began to fade the longer they stood there. Turning to her companion, Dawn nodded, her tail lashing lightly. She was excited, even when she didn't show it. The she-cat listened for the way they'd gone before following after the squirrel, though as quietly as she could. Not the fastest nor the quietest, especially when running, she'd likely have been better off creeping up on them while Scorch kept tabs. He was smaller and likely had a bit more dexterity.

In Grasslands - with Stag
(when would you like me to get another post for Lost out Falcon? I ship them so hard though! Quick boop of a kiss. They are so adorable!) The calico felt her heart began to fill to its brim with happiness after the kiss. It was fullness she had felt since she had met the handsome tom. Sage knew from that moment and the moment where she had found him by the forest tree-line that she could never be without Stag. She pressed up lovingly against her mate, purring all the while. "Alright, big handsome, let's go save our patient," she spoke in his ear and giving his cheek a quick lick. She picked the herbs up in her mouth once more, and began their trek again. Soon, they will feel much better! The molly smiled at the positive thought. She loved more than anything to see her patients get well.

Poppy didn't wait to follow Viper's next advice. The tabby began to take large mouthfuls of the prey, barely chewing as she endeavoured to pick it clean. It may be the last meal she would have in quite some time, and though she didn't want to hurt the stranger, she had little motive to leave him any morsel to munch on. Viper's optimistic suggestion, however, put Poppy more at ease. She'd be glad to have another friend to count on, even though the tom might not even be much older than herself, by his looks. "I'll follow your lead. Friendly it is," she agreed, hoping the stranger would return their intention.
Beetle / Viper & Poppy : Heather Hollow After what felt like a season, Beetle felt his thirst was finally quenched. The sandy tom worriedly caught another glimpse of his star splotched chin in the muddy pool. He brought his head up ever so slightly from his dug watering hole and thought to bury it, so as not to attract others who would be happy to snatch up his hard scratched oasis. Before he could, his hunger, veiled by his thirst, came back with a vengeance. Scenting the air, he smelled mouse, and blood. An injured field mouse? It was his lucky day. Why haven't I come this far before? he thought, snickering at his past self chewing on bugs and sedge grass just for the moisture inside. He had not gone two steps in the scent's direction before he stopped motionless, observing the sight before him. Two cats, lanky, certainly of the grassland sort. Beetle thought quick- dirt was harder to burrow into quickly like sand, and he saw nowhere else to hide. Outrunning them was merely baiting them to give chase. His last resort was always to appear as little of a threat as possible. Beetle stayed low to the ground, remaining small. Without his pelt raised, and claws sheathed, he waited for them to approach, neither meeting them nor fleeing.

•¤Scorch¤• The Wild Woods || Dawn ( Voidastral) Stalking forward, the orange and black tom did his best to tread silently. The last thing the young tom wanted was to screw up any chances of Dawn catching something. The soft flutter of wings caused Scorch to halt and he motioned to Dawn. To too far ahead of them a small flock of doves had landed on the ground and were pecking generously at the forest floor. Oh man, what the young cat wouldn't give to sink his claws into a plump chested dove! His mouth watered but his paws remained true. Scorch wanted Dawn to have the first kill, despite how his stomach told him the complete opposite. •》Stag《• The Grasslands || Sage ( calliope) Stag embraced Sages returned affection, a small purr rumbling within his chest expressed his love. The tall tom never took advantage of his time with Sage. Having been chased away from her after they first bonded, and then having to endure life without her for what seemed like the longest moons of his life. Stag had vowed to never leave her side, and the stoic tom would die before they would ever be separated again. When Sage was ready to set off again he nodded and cautiously peered out of the tall patch of grass they currently took sanctuary within. Checking the winds and their surroundings Stag made sure everything was clear before venturing out and starting back onto the path back to their patients den. The sun had traveled a fair distance across the sky before the pair finally reached their friends den just northwest of Heather Hollow on the northwest side of a massive hill that put an end to the flat plains. "We made it", he meowed eager to treat the patient and call it a day. Reaching the den, an old badger set Stag stepped out of the way to allow Sage to enter first since she carried the herb. •◇Viper◇• The Grasslands - Heather Hollow || Poppy & Beetle Stealthfire Viper gave Poppy a quick minute to eat the mouse and was surprised to find barely bone left when she turned back to check on her. She must have been famished, Viper felt slightly happy that Poppy had accompanied her. If she could help the young shecat live a better life, a life she wished for all cats then maybe her dream wasn't all for naught. Gently swishing her tail she signaled for Poppy to join her and she began making her way towards the unknown cat. As the wind blew the scent her way she could tell it was a male, and that made Viper optimistic. As a female she found it easier to speak with males, they were more open to speaking with an unknown female versus and unknown male. "Stay close and follow my lead, let's hope this ends nicely." Her voice was soft and low so only Poppy could hear her as they approached the tom. Viper glided over a small dip in the ground and confidently padded up to the young tom. "Greetings friend. My name is Viper and this is my friend Poppy. May I ask who you might be? I've never see you in these parts before." Her voice was silky soft and sweet expressing her friendly intentions as she halted just a couple tail lengths away from him.

Poppy trailed Viper, not even needing to be reminded to stay closer than she already was. She comfortably let Viper approach as far as she judged wise, and watched carefully how she acted toward the tom. Poppy listened to her words, so smooth and trustworthy, without a hint of malice anywhere. When her name was mentioned, she nodded kindly to the tom, and kept her eyes low, her tail swishing softly to keep the rest of her body from fidgeting.
Beetle / Viper & Poppy : Heather Hollow To Beetle's relief, two she-cats approached, and their demeanor was not hostile, at least on the surface. His mind raced for how to explain who he was, how to explain and still give him the best chance of being allowed to stay in this portion of the territory. "Viper and Poppy," he repeated, though he almost never committed names to memory for how fleeting most of his relationships were.
"I'm Beetle. I'm usually in the Dunes," he said carefully. Always in the Dunes, he corrected internally. Meeting the far taller she-cat's gaze, he began to speak his usual nonthreatening story. "This must be your territory, I'm sorry. I'm only passing through, I want to find my sister. Her name is Speck. Maybe you've seen her, I think she's gone this way," he lied. A cat with a purpose other than food and water was far less encroaching than a cat seeking to take from others' supplies. Of course, Speck was nowhere near the Grasslands. She was protected by their brother Gull, where he headed the strong cats by the sea front. But it was his best story, and not entirely false. Beetle would love to see his sister again, but he had lied about searching for her so many times he had almost forgotten how genuinely he missed her.
"I'll move through soon, although," he mewed, pushing his luck by how calm the she-cats appeared, "I'd be grateful for a little help getting by until I find her. I'm excellent at finding water." Not really an advantage out here, he thought as he realised how silly he sounded surrounded by moisture rich lowlands. He lifted his chin a little higher to come nearer to Viper's level, though it ached to crane his neck so high for too long. Grass, everything covered in green... he remembered from his dream, A voice I don't recognise. The memory was sudden and confusing to Beetle. When he looked upon Viper, strange words rang through his head from the night before.

•◇Viper◇• The Grasslands - Heather Hollow || Poppy & Beetle Stealthfire Beetle? What a strange name, but then again he was from a different place than her. Maybe she shouldn't be too quick to judge him off of just simply his name. Casting a quick reassuring look back at Poppy, Viper then continued to listen to what Beetle had to say. Surprisingly this Beetle character had quiet a lot to say. Not sure if it was all true or not, Viper did her best to stay optimistic yet kept a realistic sense on the matter. It was never wise to trust someone you just met, no matter what it is they say. However the key is to not let them suspect your distrust in them. Trust is earned through time. "Oh I'm sorry to hear of you missing sister, but I highly doubt she has been this way as of late. I frequent this area quiet often and have not come across any unknown cat or their scent until now." Viper gave an honest response to the tom as she sat down and gave her paw a couple of licks removing a burr that had gotten caught between her toes. Looking up she was about to offer to help him in he quest to find his sister, for who better than her. She was born and raised in the Grasslands and knew about everybook, cranny, watering hole, and the best hunting spots. However something caught her attention as Beetle rose his head to try and level with her own higher set head. A star-like mark was on the toms chin! Instantly her pelt pricked and the visions of her dream flashed back into her mind. Green eyes narrowed and her broad ears perked forward. "What is that?!" Her tone had quickly changed from a silky smooth one to a more serious one. "That star mark, there on your chin.... where did you get it?", her bright green eyes looked knowingly at the tom. Was this a coincidence? Did she just so happen to bump into another cat who just so happens to have a star mark from birth. Or did he have a dream just like her, receiving the same mark as a sign. Was he one of the four?!

Falconwing ok! Sorry if it’s short SunnyThe bright ginger tom slid over the stray boulder and crouched low by the edge of the grassland and woodland border. Hunting had been good yet he was smelling weird cats- more than usual and he was getting wary of their presence. Even as a loner he rarely ventured out of the safety of the trees so he wasn’t sure he wanted to risked the exposure for some random cats who were up and about no matter how curious he was.

In Grasslands - Old Badger's Den - with Stag and Toad (NPC)
Sage walked confidently forward, approaching the large brown tabby cat with a soft smile. She sat the herbs down and unfolded the leaf pouch with her teeth, revealing fragrant lavender and marigold. Lavender, which normally in hot and humid areas, was a popular choice among the gardens as of late in the village, along with the marigold of course. Sage looked down at the tom's body; several wounds littered his pelt though they were covered with cobwebs. Already seeped through again? Ugh. Oh well. Time to rechange them, I suppose.
"Can you fetch some more cobwebs, Stag?" she called out, pulling out the dainty green leaves of the marigold plant and a few stalks of beautiful lavender flowers. "Here, Toad," she gestured to the purple foliage as she pushed it closer, "this will make you feel better and get rid of that fever." The tom gently yet hesitantly took the flower into his mouth and chewed slowly. Sage simply smiled and began chewing on the leaves to create her poultice.

In Wild Woods - Hunting The dark tabby tom eye was caught suddenly by the white feathers settling to the right of him. "Oh boy," he salivated, instinctively crouching as his hunger began to gnaw at him. Lost stalked forward, his paws gentle, though they don't look like they would be, as he moved. He grew close to the doves pecking at the forest floor, searching for whatever seeds that had been released from the green canopy above. Dumb birds He could feel the burn of the hunger reach the back of his throat. Lost tucked his body low, yet put all his strength in his back legs to leap forward at any moment. All the tom was waiting for was the perfect moment.

Stag The Grasslands - Old Badger Den || Sage calliope & Toad (NPC) Hopeful that they were able to apply the herbs early enough before infection took over Toads body, Stag followed Sage into the den. Allowing his mate to work with the herbs Stag reserved himself to setting aside the extras for Toad to follow up with after they left. This one time care wouldn't be enough to keep the infections at bay. As he finished making two sets of herb piles for Toad, Sages sweet tone rang in his ears asking for more cobwebs. "Of course, I will be right back." Casting a loving gaze to his mate before he exited the den Stag swiftly carried out the required duty. It didn't take him long to have a paw and tail full of cobwebs, the grasslands were full of spiders and their webs, especially in the taller stalks of grass. Hopping back, careful not to loose any the sorrel tom held them out for Sage to take an apply where she deemed necessary. Scorch The Wild Woods || Dawn Voidastral Lost calliope Doing his best the young tom inches forward under the cover of the surrounding undergrowth. For a moment he had though that he had scared them off when he stumbled and gently shook the brush around him. To his luck the wind had picked up and is rustled things elsewhere allowing him to unfreeze and breath once again. The doves were pecking at what seemed to be soft wet earth pulling forth plump worms. Now was his chance! Leaping forth the tom initially fell short causing the doves to scatter. However he did not give in to defeat and pushed off hard with his hind legs jumping into the air after one, claws successfully snagging onto the plump birds wings. Bringing it back down to earth and delivering a fatal bite. "Look Dawn! I did it!!" He exclaimed looking up the the shecat with his paws continuing to pin down the dead dove.

Dawn The Wild-woods - Scorch ( Falconwing), Lost ( calliope) Dawn nodded, a small smile on her face. "You did a good job too. You should eat that while it's fresh." She suggested, her eyes scanning the area for any other signs of prey, ears moving like a pair of radars. She shifted on her paws, either waiting for her friend to eat his food or choose to carry it along. She still had to find two small mice or at least one larger bird for her family. If her smell wasn't so unadjusted, she'd have done so by now. Not to mention her loud paws.
