Heres my reluctant prophecy boy) Cloudburst SkyWing ~ ✧ ~ 16 ~ ✧ ~ Male
✧ Cloudburst is an average sized Skywing, but well muscled and defined, with wings slightly larger than average. His scales are a deep, glittering red, giving him the appearance of being clad in garnets, the scales on his underside a even darker red.Scattered sparingly across his back and wings are glimmering golden scales, not noticeable in dim lighting, but glow and scatter light across his scales when they catch sunlight. The membrane of his wings is a dark gold that shows brighter veins of gold when they are lit by sunlight. His eyes are a warm golden orange, with the scales of his face being the same as his body with the brow ridge the same dark red as his underbelly except for a gold scale at the end of both brows. Cloudburst likes wearing a variety of accessories,a lot of them his own creations. He is normally seen wearing a gold hoop in his nose,a row of three gold bands on his tail, each studded with garnets, and a transparent orange silk scarf he wraps around his shoulders and lets trail over his wings in a stylish manner. ✧
✧ Eloquent,Creative,Spontaneous,Disorganized,Pessimistic,Worried ✧
✧ Raised in the typical manner of all SkyWings,Cloudburst was taught to fight from a young age,but it was never his passion. His true passion is the arts;music, painting, writing, he does it all, much to the disdain of his parents who would prefer he follows in their family tradition of great warriors. Cloudburst still follows his parents wishes and trains every day,but always sneaks away to practice his art, though he's always cautious because he knows all his instruments and supplies would be taken if they were discovered by his parents. At the appearance of a new threat to Pyyrhia,Cloudburst knows he will be challenged, not necessarily by the dark being, but the expectancy of his parents that he try to fight the creature, but becoming a prophecy dragon is the last thing he wants. ✧ there we go~~)

((That all makes sense! In my mind, I was really just thinking of Stonemover, not Sunny. Is it possible that the genes had spread wider than just that family group? It's not a big deal either way for me, just trying to sort things out for one of my character's backstories.))

( good evening, everybody (: I swear I'm still working on my dragon refs [though I did forget for like, a week, but everyone talking about theirs jogged my memory], I'll try to post them soon. I don't have a drawing tablet so I'm coloring them the old fashioned way aha ^^'
Also decided to hop on the bandwagon and make some more dragons! Currently working on a SandWing. Not sure where he'll fit in plot wise tho...)

Taipan Before Sunset ✺ SandWing Territory ✺ Just outside the Palace ⥈⥈⥈
The sun had not yet crested the horizon, and yet life still stirred within the heart of the desert.
Insects and reptiles skittered about, hunting and being hunted in the dark of the early morning to avoid the sun’s baking heat. The sands shifted and danced in the occasional breeze, whirling upward to form minute sandstorms that lasted but a heartbeat, before being scattered to the winds again. Hidden from the sun, the desert still thrived. Life abounded, if one only looked deep enough – if one only looked past the shifting sands’ illusions and the baking heat to find the oasis that thrived beneath the surface.
Deep in the heart of the SandWing’s territory, close to the palace where the SandWing queen, her guards, and a few others made their home, another creature was stirring beneath the moon’s light. Taipan slid from her home on silent talons, careful not to wake her parents, who were fast sleep in a room adjacent to hers. When she stepped into the open desert air she paused, opening her wings slightly to let the cool night air dance across her scales. She lifted her snout to the sky, eyes closing halfway, and drew in a deep breath. Countless scents drifted across her awareness; nearby, a snake was slithering about, stalking after a small lizard. The different aromas of the desert flora surrounded her, coloring her reality. After a moment drinking in the underrated glory of her home, Taipan opened her wings to their full span, bunched her muscles, and launched herself into the air with a powerful leap and down-stroke of her wings.
The desert fell away behind her, becoming little more than a wide expanse of dunes of sand as she climbed higher and higher until she evened out her flightpath, stretching her wings into a smooth glide. She banked right, moving into a wide turn away from the SandWing palace, deeper into the desert. She flew for a short time, before she dropped into a spiral towards the ground, where there was a rather large cresting of sand. She landed lightly, talons sinking into the soft surface. She settled down, dropping her wings around her before she turned her head to the east, and watched the horizon.
It was only a short time later that the horizon began to illuminate as the sun began its scent. Taipan watched for quite some time as the sun gradually ascended. As the darkness was chased away, the denizens of the desert fled to the small rocky recesses or deeper into the sands, fleeing the sun’s baking warmth. Taipan remained, black eyes narrowing slightly against the harsh glare of the sun; her nictitating membranes swept across her vision to clear away debris and sand that had managed to work its way into her eyes. When the sun was fully above the line of the horizon, Taipan opened and spread her wings, letting the solar warmth soak past her scales to the bone and muscle and sinew beneath, soothing and warming her flight surfaces and joints in her wings. She left her eyes drift shut and dozed briefly, before a tell-tale sound awoke her. A sharp crackling rattle pierced her awareness, and she froze instinctively.
Just in front of her, close enough for it to strike out, was a rattlesnake. It had emerged from its den to soak in the sun, much like Taipan herself as doing, but had instead found Taipan. It was currently coiled up, head cocked back in an ‘s’ shape in case it needed to strike, tail shaking back and forth furiously to create the tell-tale rattle. It opened its mouth and hissed at the SandWing, and she returned the gesture. Slowly, she folded her wings to her form and moved her tail, sliding it around her body until it was at the proper angle. She dipped her nose towards her chest, utilizing the unique coloration of her scales to create the illusion that she, much like a cobra, had hooded up in warning. The rattlesnake reared back a little but didn’t back off, hissing again. Taipan bobbed her head back and forth in a weaving motion, forcing the snake’s attention onto her head rather than her tail. The snake’s head moved back and forth slightly, watching Taipan, tail still rattling madly.
Quick as lightning, Taipan struck; her tail snapped forward, the venomous barb slamming into the snake, piercing the reptile’s scale and muscle to scrape against bone. Almost instantly the snake tried to turn, opening its mouth as if it were going to bite Taipan, but she’d been too fast. The SandWing’s venom paralyzed the snake, and within sixty seconds the creature had died. Taipan swallowed the snake rather swiftly, although she preserved the rattle, holding it carefully to her chest as she snapped open her wings and launched herself into the air, angling towards home again.
Taipan Early Morning ✺ SandWing Territory ✺ Just outside the Palace ⥈⥈⥈
Soon, her home was in sight. When she landed outside her home, she could hear her parents, Iris and Horus, moving about. It was mid-morning now, so she wasn’t surprised. She placed the rattle in her collection and then went to greet her parents.
“Taipan,” Iris said, voice softening almost instantly as she turned to face her daughter. Iris was as tough as any SandWing, and deadly in a fight, but there was always a gentleness that entered her tone and demeanor whenever she was talking to or about her daughter. Like most SandWings, Iris’ scales were colored with a pale, somewhat dusty, gold, accented in some places by light browns. “Good morning.”
“Morning,” Taipan responded, dipping her snout slightly in greeting. Horus simply grunted at her, which made her stifle a chuckle. Her father was the opposite of a morning dragon, and it usually took him a few hours to wake up fully – unless he was on duty. Then he was as alert as any soldier and took his duty of guarding the SandWing queen seriously. Few were as dedicated to their positions as Iris and Horus. Like her mother, Horus was also predominantly pale gold in coloration, but his scales were accented with black and dark gray in some places. It was likely from him that Taipan got her unique cobra-like patch of coloration.
“How did you sleep?” Iris asked. Taipan shrugged in response. She wasn’t one of many words.
“Early morning flight again?” Horus prodded. Taipan side-eyed him when Iris sighed. Her father, despite the fact that he hated waking up, always seemed to know when his daughter went exploring in the early hours of the morning or late hours of the night.
“You know I don’t like it when you go out so late, Taipan,” Iris scolded, tone becoming firmer. “It’s not safe.”
“I can take care of myself, mom,” Taipan argued. “It’s not like I even go far, anyway.”
“That’s not the point, Taipan. You’re still young, and I don’t want you to get hurt.”
“I’m not going to get hurt. I’m careful. I just-“
“No more of these morning flights, Taipan. Not until you’re old enough.”
“But –“
“No.”
“Oh, let her go, Iris,” Horus said, rather suddenly. Iris turned to glare at him, and Taipan was almost surprised her father didn’t wilt under the intensity of her mother’s look. She’d had such a look leveled on her before, and, well, it certainly was that. Intense. That was a good word for it, although it was still an understatement. “She’s got to grow up some time. You and I have taught her well; she’s not going to get herself in any danger.”
Taipan decided to keep the rattlesnake incident to herself, shooting her father a thankful look. He winked at her when Iris wasn’t looking. The married pair looked at each other for a long time before Iris let out a huff. “Fine,” Iris relented. “But only if she stays close to home, and only if she’s careful.”
“I will be,” Taipan promised. Iris huffed again, but let the subject down. Taipan was under no illusion that it would be shelved forever, though. “Do you have any plans for today, Taipan?”
She shrugged in response. “Not really. I’ll probably hang around the palace and see if there’s anything for me to do.”
The rest of the conversation remained light, and after a short time the small family left, winging swiftly towards the SandWing palace. Both Iris and Horus were on guard duty today, though at different locations in the palace. When that was the case, Taipan tended to linger in the palace for a time, until her parents were satisfied that she’d be fine, before she’d head off to explore. She was inquisitive in nature, and the urge to explore and discover more about the world she lived in was often difficult to resist. Taipan wandered through the palace, eventually finding herself at the wingery, where young dragonets were learning the nuances of flight. She found a place that was slightly out of the way and settled down to watch the rather… graceful… attempts of young dragons to figure out the complexities of using their wings. More than a few struggled to point their noses in the right way and crashed into the ground. Thankfully they weren’t high enough to get terribly hurt and got bruised more than anything. Taipan chuckled to herself, eyes sparkling with amusement.

~ ✧ ~ ✧ ~ ____________________________ Midday ✧ Sky Kingdom ✧ Barracks Firefly wasn’t expecting him to show her to the barracks, and she very nearly told him to forget it, she’d find her own way. But that was the sort of childish thing she was trying to not do anymore. It wasn’t very befitting of a royal guard - as her sister liked to remind her. So Firefly just said, “Thank you,” and followed the guard/soldier through the palace to a takeoff platform.
She did not respond immediately to his question, but as soon as he was in the air, she muttered, “Of course I’m ready to fly. I’m a SkyWing, in case it slipped your notice.” Firefly was smaller than average for her age, and while her wings would still be considered large by other tribe standards, they too were on the small side for a SkyWing. Several of Gale’s friends liked to tease her for it, claiming she wasn’t a real SkyWing. It drove Firefly crazy.
With a shake of her head, Firefly spread her wings and shot into the sky after her guard. Small wings or not, she was still fast, and caught up to him just in time to hear his tour announcement. She followed the direction of his gaze and tried to figure out how her father could have steered her so wrong. The barracks were nowhere near where she had been. Had he been trying to get her lost?
Her thoughts were interrupted when the guard called her grumpyscales again. She liked that name less and less, and she really wished she hadn’t admitted to being one. But what really caught her attention was the challenge he issued before the horrid nickname. Never one to turn down a challenge, Firefly tucked her wings and shot after him. She couldn’t pass him, but she stayed right on his tail the whole way.
And she was pleased to say she didn’t have to try.

~ ✧ ~ ✧ ~ ____________________________ Midday ✧ Pyrrhia ✧ Outskirts of Sanctuary Wren could only smile as her friend began, and she followed Polaris over to the map. Wren sat down to one side, tail curled carefully over her back talons, and settled in to listen.
Wren had heard of the prophecy, sort of. More accurately, she had overheard her father speaking of it to another dragon from the Council. Which wasn’t very different than how Polaris learned of it, evidently. Wren was not as excited about it as Polaris seemed to be, however. Lately, her thoughts had been too preoccupied with her secret and what her father wanted her to do with it. She hadn’t had any time to puzzle over a prophecy, though she was eager to see an end to the attacks and the suffering happening all over Pyrrhia.
The part about the NightWing representative was news to Wren, and she had to wonder, not for the first time, how Polaris had learned of it - especially the part about them arriving at the Mud Kingdom. Wren had given up on asking Polaris the secret to her knowledge; her friend enjoyed the mysteriousness of it too much.
Polaris’s plan didn’t register with Wren right away. Even after it did, it took her several seconds to remember how to do more than blink and stare blankly at her friend. And even after Wren recalled how to speak, it took several seconds more for her to voice anything.
But then, finally, she managed a, “Wait, what?” She shook her head slowly, jogging more words from her mouth. “Polaris, I can’t just… take off to the Mud Kingdom. What would my father think? Especially now, when he - when he asked me to do something for him. I just… I don’t think I can, Polaris. Maybe… maybe we can wait a day or two before we go?” Wren knew her father would never let her go, but that only heightened her desire to see more of Pyrrhia. If not for her power, for her rules and her father, she would have accompanied Polaris and each and every one of her adventures. At least, she always told herself she would. Now that she was faced with such an adventure, outside of Sanctuary, she wasn’t so sure she had the courage to do it.

~`Fractal`~
Sunlight beat down upon Fractal's back, reduced by the cloak wrapped around her shoulders, but still uncomfortably hot to IceWing scales. After many years living in the desert, she had grown accustomed to always being hot,but it didn't mean she was impervious,it was just something she had to live with. Winging her way along the trail that ran along the Great Five-Tail River,Fractal searched for the perfect spot to alight. There, nestled among some sparse trees on the SandWing side,a large boulder that overlooked the river. Fractal tilted her wings slightly, slowing her speed as she came in for a soft landing on the large cracked boulder, setting down the large bag in her claws as she did so. Stretching out her wings, enjoying the sudden coolness of the shade cast by the scraggly trees,Fractal took in her surroundings. Sand sprawled across the land on this side of the river, stretching far from the horizon to the banks of the river she stood on. On the other side, there was still sand, but it soon turned into mountainous terrain as it turned into the Claws of the Clouds Mountains. Fractal gazed longingly towards the mountains, wondering what it would be like to fly among the peaks, longing for the cool air brought by the towering heights of the peaks and passes of the mountains. She shook her head, clearing the daydream from her head reluctantly. Now wasn't the time for dreams of adventure, she had a job to do. Drawing the string at the end of her bag,she let the pile of clothes it held spill out onto the rock. Laundry from about every dragon in Possibility,or so it seemed at least, her little business hadn't become that popular yet,but she did what she could. Settling into the edge of the current,Fractal began washing the clothes, thoroughly scrubbing them with rocks and mixture of herbs used to freshen the fabric. It was tough work, keeping up with the mountain of clothing along with all her other odd jobs, but Fractal didn't mind doing them if it meant she could help Bone pay for their home and expenses. He always did so much for her,she felt she had to pay him back at least for taking care of her from such a young age. Thinking of Bone almost made her feel guilty for longing to leave Possibility,it wasn't fair to him and all the hard work he did. Just now he was off on one of his scavenging expeditions in the desert, trying to find more scrap to sell so Fractal could live comfortably. It didn't matter to her how they lived, she just wanted to be with Bone, and maybe go on an adventure from time to time instead of being stuck here. She didn't necessarily hate Possibility,it was her home after all,but things had changed recently, ever since that 'shadow' had started showing up in the different kingdoms. Dragons were spreading rumors left and right, and most cowered in fear that it would show up in Possibility one day. Fractal wouldn't let herself be caught up in such stories, but it did make her wonder, what is this 'shadow'? She frowned slightly, but went back to her job, scrubbing vigorously at the clothes between her claws.
