<]Summit[>
Sunlight crept across the mouth of the cave, slowly filling the cavernous space with warm light.Feeling the light against his eyelids,Summit slowly blinked open one amber colored eye, slowly taking in his surroundings as the rest of him woke. Groaning slightly,he pulled his large mass under him and pulled himself to his feet, stretching out his full length before slowly unfurling his wings to the morning light. The two wings stretched out to either side of the massive cavern like two sails, their mass nearly encompassing the space all on their own, with barely some room to spare before they would literally brush the cave walls. Summit blinked a few more times, clearing the sleep from his eyes as he stretched, then, with a massive yawn,he stumbled out the cave entrance onto the cliff just outside where he proceeded to plop onto his haunches as he surveyed the surrounding mountains.
The Claws of the Clouds Mountains. His home. They hadn't always been, but Summit refused to think back on those times. The mountains sprawled in every direction below his cave, which was nestled at the peak of one of the highest. It was better to have a high vantage point around here,it gave him more time to pack up and leave if dragons ever appeared to close for comfort to his cave.Pondering his territory,Summit's stomach gave a rolling growl, reminding him of how long ago it had been that he actually ate.Sighing,Summit stretched his wings out again in preparation as he scanned valleys for the perfect spot to hunt.
There,a low valley to the west of his cave, sheltered, but grassy enough to attract deer and the like. With barely any effort,Summit beat his massive wings, and with one mighty thrust was sky born, sliding gently into a brisk mountain wind that carried him to his destination. What a trivial existence he now lived.Summit frowned to himself as he flew.He preferred not to think so much these days,as his thoughts always carried him back to the past, the past he swore never to look back on.Strange how the mind wanted to think on things its told itself not to think about.Summit shook his head in frustration. There would be time for philosophy later, now was the time for breakfast. Good thing it had just presented itself to him.
Gliding along a small creek,Summit had spotted a proud stag, not much more than a snack to him,but it would be a nice starters course.Slowing to near standstill in the sky,Summit beat his wings to a hover as he surveyed his prey.Narrowing his eyes when he saw his chance,he pulled his wings in sharply, arrowing downwards at a steep dive towards the deer. The stag snorted as if it sensed approaching danger but it was too late.Snapping his wings out swiftly,Summit suddenly slowed as his claws just grasped the stag around its chest, then rose once more with a powerful downbeat of his wings. He beat them once, then twice,as he alighted on a nearby boulder overlooking the stream, the rock groaning slightly at his weight.
Swiftly snapping the stags neck before it could struggle too much,Summit took in his surroundings suspiciously.Shaking himself at his incessant worry,he turned back to the deer and began to dig in.

Sunstalker Mid-morning✺ Sanctuary✺ Marketplace ⥈⥈⥈
The wind beneath his wings was a sensation that he would never grow sick of.
Sunstalker stretched his wings to their full span, the flight-membrane humming softly beneath the force of the breeze that the NightWing-IceWing hybrid drifted upon. The air was warm, boosting the rather large dragon higher into the air with little effort on his part. His stark black-blue scales glimmered in the sunlight, seeming to swallow all of the light that fell upon them, while his silvery-blue horns seemed to reflect the sunlight. Far below Sunstalker was Sanctuary, the home he’d found a little over a year ago, when he’d grown weary of traveling and had wanted to set down roots. When his NightWing father had died, his IceWing mother had taken him to the IceWing’s homeland, and for a time Sunstalker had been raced among other IceWing fledges and dragonet, but he’d never truly felt at home there. He was always different – too NightWing for the IceWings, and too IceWing for the NightWings. He’d been stuck between two worlds, and after a time he’d simply grown sick of it and had departed. He’d spent a few years wandering, traversing between all of the dragon tribes, learning songs and stories and legends. That was his livelihood now – a song-spinner, a story-singer; a bard. He enjoyed his life in Sanctuary and had little motivation to leave.
Sunstalker turned so that his snout was pointed upward, and began to beat his wings, gaining height swiftly. The sound of the breeze flowing over his wings and scales soothed him, echoing within his very soul. When he had climbed so high that the air was thin and he found it difficult to breath, he inverted, rolling over onto his back. He seemed to hover there, held aloft in the air by some invisible force, before his nose tipped downward and gravity took hold of him again. He plummeted, folding his wings to his flanks, although he kept the tips flared out, like a falcon’s, to cut the wind. The wind howled in his ears and stung his eyes, and the ground rapidly rose to meet him. Terror began to roil in his gut, but Sunstalker ignored it, narrowing his gaze against the rushing dive. Hold it, he told himself, pushing the fear and survival instincts away. Hold it… hold it… now! At the last moment, when it seemed that Sunstalker would slam to the earth, he swung his snout upward, snapped his tail down and kicked his back legs, in the same instant that his massive wings opened with a concussive whoosh! He swept over Sanctuary’s market, a blue-black streak against the sky, laughing wildly. There was nothing like the thrill of flight – such freedom! Nothing could hold him down – not even gravity could sink its talons into his hide. He was as free as could be.
After a few more aerobatic tricks, Sunstalker cut his wings and swooped in for a landing, touching down just outside of his little home in Sanctuary. He stretched his wings to their span before folding them against his flanks. His breath was swift, but there was a gleam in his eyes – one of childish glee, of excitement and adrenaline. He took a deep breath to slow the rapid pounding of his heart before he entered his home, retrieving a few of his belongings.
A few moments later, the hybrid was striding towards Sanctuary’s market; the duality of his scales – shadow and light, day and night – was highlighted in the sun’s light, but here, in Sanctuary, Sunstalker was just another dragon. Not a NightWing, not an IceWing, not a hybrid – just another dragon. He relished that.
When the din of the market closed around him, Sunstalker began to relax. He perused a few stalls, examining the wares that the merchants had on offer, but nothing had caught his eye just yet.

"A NightWing?" Bengal asked, a bit surprised. He hadn't seen anyone flying into the rainforest this morning. Surely they would have had to fly over the border he'd been patrolling this morning. And I still missed them, he growled internally. Useless, useless, useless.
"Have we heard anything about them since an hour ago?" he questioned. "Are we sure they are still speaking with Queen Harpy? They wouldn't have sent a dragon this far if something important had not happened..." Was there another attack, something more dangerous? Or, he felt his hope spike, Maybe they caught the dragons responsible for the whole ordeal. Maybe they're going to rot in a NightWing jail for the rest of their lives.
He did not believe his own thoughts.
He knew deep down the attacker had not been caught. There wasn't enough evidence to pin point attack sites- let alone profile a possible suspect. Unless they'd been caught in the act they would still be roaming free. Moons even if they had been caught, if they're able to take out towns in the span of a couple minutes I'm not sure how many dragons it would take to stop them...
Shaking out his wings he snapped his attention back to Rambutan. While he didn't want to get in trouble with the Queen or caught for spying, wouldn't it be better if some of the tribe was informed? Plus if Rambutan came with him and they got caught together, Bengal wouldn't have to explain himself alone. He wasn't the most well-liked dragon in the rainforest- even the dragonets called him 'grumpyscales', but the other RainWing was. If anyone was going to lessen the punishment if they got caught spying, it was him.
"Alright, lets go."

☀ Pyre ☀ sky kingdom | late morning | plague Pyre was happy flying around in the morning sunlight, diving between mountains, dodging falcons, swooping into valleys, it all seemed so simple. That was until she almost flew into another SkyWing. She had been minding her own business, trying to find a spot in a nearby valley to land. She'd been out of her cave for what seemed like forever, and while a normal SkyWing could fly for days without much of an issue, she wasn't used to extended periods aloft. But the valley seemed perfect. It was isolated- in a place she had't seen many dragons before. There was a small creek that dissected it- creating a rocky shoreline where she could land and not cause a wildfire. But most important, it was close enough to her cave that she could disappear if she ran into trouble.
Trouble ended up being a golden SkyWing and his snack. He hadn't been paying attention and she had missed him- her focus on the shimmering water of the creek. At the last second, she pulled out of her dive, leaning heavily to the left. She was moving to fast to stop, but she could at least avoid crash landing into him.
"Ack!" She cried as she hit the water of the creek- droplets splashing the bank. The ones that hit her scales, evaporated quickly, sizzling off into the sky. Rolling out of the river, she crawled onto a nearby rock, leaving a trail of scorch behind her.
She sat there coughing up creek water for a minute, trying not to keel over back into the water. When she was more composed, she turned her attention back to the other dragon. "Nice catch," she rasped, motioning to the stag, "Sorry for almost killing you..." she paused already feeling heat flood her scales. Or, more heat than usual.
"I uh.. didn't see you there," she stumbled over the words. "You know, bright golden scales like yours are super easy to miss." It was meant to be a joke but the delivery was off. "Are you okay? I didn't touch you, did I?"
