Odali watched the road ahead of her, excitment nipping at her chest. Alongside her older brother, she was headed to the capital city. It was a bustling place that was said to be full of new oppertunities and adventures. It was also said to be a huge expense of buildings, people, and culture. She didn't know what to expect or how much was true about what people said. However she was nonetheless excited for whatever they would find. Behind her, Abir in his full armor road ideally on. For a little over a year they had been traveling from place to place, seeking somewhere to call home. Most other places had proved to be unfulfilling in one way or another. The wizard hoped the new city would be different. For the moment, Odali and her brother were traveling in silence. It was that part of the day again where neither of them really wanted to talk and she was fine with that. She had grown accustomed to the long stretches of silence during their travels.
Unlike his sister, Abir was a bit more hesitant with going to the capital city. He knew how dangerous it could be if one wasn't careful. He was also quite aware the potential safety it could grant them if they were vigilant. For now, he chose to look on the bright side. He and Odali would simply be more of the hundreds of faceless residents in the city. As the pair road along in silence, he noticed something a few hills ahead. He narrowed his eyes and sat straighter to get a better look. Of course being in a full suit if armor made that diffcult, but he managed to get a glimpse of what lied in front of them. It appeared to be a fight was brewing up ahead.
"Ods I think there are some people who need help up there," he calmly noted. The young woman stopped her horse and pulled our a small glass. Closing one eye and bringing it to her open one, she looked ahead. Sure enough there seemed to be a fight going on. It seemed one, small group was being attacked by an enemy with more numbers. The wizard lightly gasped.
"We should go help!" The man nodded and gave a slight smile before having his horse break off into a full gallop. Before she had a chance to put away the glass shard, Abir was already halfway towards the other hill.
"Paladins," she sighed before galloping after him.

It was a typical day for the two siblings. Anaris had managed to get past her guards once again and enjoy an early morning walk by herself cloaked covering herself from the eyes of her people. It wasn't typical for a Queen to walk amongst her people, not by herself anyway. But she hated the stigma of being Queen. Of course, the recklessness she so often displayed with her own life had once again gotten her into some trouble. There was unrest among some of her people, rumors at least. Well, so she'd thought.
The people around her were masked, the small dragon circled above them, Niira was far too small to be of any help, once she was full-grown maybe, but now she was barely bigger than a normal lizard, and to breathe, any fire would risk hurting Anaris.
"Let me pass." The red-haired woman said firmly, her eyes locked hard on the person in front of her. She couldn't see their eyes but she knew where they were behind it all. "I am your Queen and I will not be pushed around or ordered by you." The woman nearly hissed. In Calea, you won the crown by fighting, so she was not new to the whole defending yourself thing, but she was outnumbered. "When my guards come I'll have each one of you thrown in the dungeons."
The people paid no mind. Her threats were empty, no one knew where she was. Minus her brother the Captain of the guard, he had a feeling she'd gone on one of the little trips he so often yelled at her about. He was looking all over the marketplace for her. But today she'd chosen a different path and that might have been a big mistake. The Queen held a small blade in her hand, it had been on her thigh and she was ready to use it. The surrounding people were yelling as one stepped forward ready to attack her.

The paladin road up towards the hill. He stopped a few feet away from the fight, a realization suddenly hitting him. It hadn't been a group at all. It was simply one woman aganist a few masked assailants. That's hardly fair, he thought glaring at the attackers. Quickly getting off his horse, Abir joined in the fray. He managed to knock a man over, and watched for a moment as he began to roll down the hill. His gaze them briefly wandered towards his sister. Odali was not far behind. He watched as she turned herself invisible, not wanting people to see her face. They both knew just how dangerous it could be for a magic-user. Typically, people didn't care, but he had always advised her to remain hidden if she had to cast her spells. Now was one of those times. A sword being thrust towards him pulled the man away from his distractuon. He managed to deflect the blade awkwardly before it could do any real damage.
Odali could see the attackers. They were too distracted to notice her. Her brother and the woman helped keep their attention occupied as she prepared a spell. Pulling out a long piece of lightning-struck crystal, she aimed it towards one of the masked assailants. "Striking chain," she whispered. A crackel of whiteish light sprung towards her target and struck him. It then split off towards two other and took them both down as well. Abir gave a small nod in her direction and she returned it with a smile, though it wasn't like he would've seen it. He turned back towards the woman he was fighting and blocked another one of her blows as Odali chose another target. Although she couldn't see their faces, it was clear a few of the men and women were confused by whatever invisible force took down their companions. Taking advantage of their distraction, the wizard muttered an incantation. The shadows of the attackers suddenly blurred together and tendrils of darkness tangled around their legs. One person screamed while the others began to struggle about. The tendrils only grew.
Odali felt a bit guilty. The people were frightened of what she was doing and she wasn't fond of making people afraid. However, she also knew they needed to be stopped before anyone got seriously hurt. So, for the time being she pushed the guilt away and focused on taking the group down.

The Queen had the first man pinned to the ground by the time the paladin burst through to help her of course she'd only had him for a little bit before the others started to pull her off. Thank the gods. She stuck her dagger into the arm of one and he pulled back quickly as she pulled it out. Her blue gaze looked at the man come to help her for a moment before she felt someone grab her wrist hard. She turned lifting her arm and striking with her elbow quickly hitting him in the nose. The masks were hard so it didn't have the same effect as she'd wanted but it did shock him for a moment so she could get his hand off hers.
The next thing she knew she was on the ground having been knocked down. Then the crackle of lighting caught her attention. In awe, the woman watched as the light struck three of the men. Her jaw dropped for a moment before she was knocked down by one of the few left who hadn't run off now. The paladin blocked the blow that had come toward her and she struggled to scramble to her feet. Anaris was out of breath from being knocked to the ground and from fighting considering she was maybe five foot four on a good day these men were at least five inches taller than her easily. The man saving her had his back turned and one of them came from behind, she still had her dagger so she threw it, and Anaris almost never missed her mark, the dagger flew straight into the man's chest and he dropped to the ground unmoving. With that, the rest of them feld, magic and everything else was not what they had bargained for.
At this point, her hood had come off and was quite torn up from being grabbed and everything else that had gone on. The Queen wore no crown but her clothes under the cloak were very clearly nice, not nice enough to be those of a queen but it was obvious she was of noble standing just by the quality. Still, out of breath, she had yet to say anything, she just stayed crouched on the ground trying to catch her breath.

As Abir finished fighting off his opponent, he heard a gurgling gasp behind him. Turning, he managed to catch the tail end of another falling backwards. The dagger in his chest was obviously from the woman who had been attacked. The paladin looked at her and dipped his head in thanks as the rest fled. They had definently hadn't bargained she would get help from some travlers. Though it seemed they only knew about him. Odali had already released the attackers she captured. They were joining their companions. As the dust settled, Abir walked towards the woman. Judging by her clothing, it was quickly made clear to him that she was more than a common travler. His armor clanged as he approched her, hand outstretched to help her up.
"Thanks for saving my tail back there," he thanked with a friendly smile. He hoped it was enough to distract her as Odali dropped her invisibility and brought the horses up. He took a quick glance towards the distance, watching the assailants once more. Thet didn't look back, still running away partically in fright from their unseen attacker. A proud smile formed on his lips as he glanced towards his sister. She didn't typically fight, but when she did it was always impressive.
"Are you alright?" Odali asked as she joined the pair. She was glad the scuffle had been quick and that they had all made it out more or less unscathed.

Abir nodded, offering a friendly grin. "It's rather unfortunate that your walk ended the way it did. Bandits or whatever they were are never fun to deal with. Besides, one aganist many rarely leads to a fair fight," the man grumbled. There were very few circumstances he could think of where that would make for a fair fight. A lone travler like the woman wasn't one of those times. His hazel-green gaze drifted towards Odali and back at the woman as she responded to the wizard. She was alright by the sound of it, which was good. To make things even better, she didn't seem to know what his sister was. For the time being, he thought it was wise to keep it that way. At the mention of "properly thanking them", Abir raised and eyebrow and glanced towards his sister.
Odali looked between him and the woman for a moment. "What do you mean by that?" The wizard asked curiously. She knew she was speaking for the both of them as her brother had the same thought. Her question was soon answered as the redheaded woman noted that they were travlers and offered then a place to stay. Abir smiled lightly.
"Yes ma'am, we are indeed travlers. We've actually been traveling for a few days now, so place to stay would be nice. But of course, you don't owe us anything. We simply saw someone who needed help and did what we could. No more, no less," the paladin answered. Odali nodded in agreement, though liked the sound of having somewhere to stay that wasn't a small inn or creaky tavern. After handing her brother his horse, she mounted her own steed. She watched as her brother guided his silver mare closee to the woman.
"If you want, you can ride Windstreaker back to wherever you need to go. She's a sweet horse and won't give you any trouble." He gestered to the saddle for a moment, the horse responding to his movements. Thanks to training and a little bit of magic, she was smarter than the average horse and more attuned to Abir's commands. Of course, only a handful of people actually knew that. As the woman took time to make a choice, Abir took a look around from the hill. It was unlikely they would be disturbed by anything else though he knew one could never be too careful. Without noticing anything unusual, he turned back towards the stranger.
"We haven't introduced ourselves. Sorry about that. I'm Abir and this is my sister, Odali. We're headed to the capital if you're curious, which is nearby I believe. I assume that's where you came from if you don't mind me prying of course." As far as he knew, there weren't any other major settlements or homesteads nearby. Of course he didn't know the area well, so maybe there were other towns the woman had come from.
(It's late, so I'm going to head to bed.)

(Hey, so I had an idea I wanted to run by you real quick. Maybe the guards find Odali, Anaris, and Abir and they (my characters) think they're enemies. So Odali can reveal her abilities and then they can find out Anaris is queen.)

(By the way, love that idea of the guards coming cause Kean is in the Queen's guard so its perfect, cause he'll be all mad and protective XD We can get that started within the next few posts XD)
The woman's gaze drifted to the horse she was offered a ride back, boy would Kean have a field day seeing her ride in on a horse with some strange travelers. Interesting how well the mare responded to him with such, must have been a strong bond the two had. How sweet. Hearing the two introduce themselves she smiled warmly, "I'm Anaris, a pleasure to meet you both. And your assumption is right I am from the capital." What business did these two have in the capital? There was big market place there, one she'd built up from a few small tents. But it didn't look like they had wares to sell. Perhaps just passing through? Pushing any thoughts of mistrust away, Anaris took the offer to ride on his horse. She pet Windstreaker before pulling herself on to the mare with ease.
"I can guide you both through to my home as we go." She said with another warm smile. The two siblings seemed to be good people, and she was queen so if she made it so they would stay in the castle as her guests and no one could tell her otherwise. If anything went wrong she had an entire army ready to die for her if need be. Not that she'd want that, but if necessary.
"Where is that woman!" Kean yelled as he stormed out of the castle a few men trailing behind him.
"Sir, you do know you are speaking on the Queen." One whispered, he was new and obviously clueless.
Kean scoffed, "Queen." He shook his head. "As someone who once changed the Queen's diapers I can say as I please. Get some men, we are going to find where she has run off to this time." He grumbled continuing on not caring if they followed or not. He'd find his sister and give her the scolding of a life time. The golden haired man rubbed his temples as he looked around to see if she'd maybe not made it that far. Of course he couldn't have been more wrong.

(Haha yes! It'll be quite funny if in the middle of the fight it's revealed Anaris is the queen, which would leave Odali and Abir just going "what?" Also your post length was fine.)
The mare was still as the new rider mounted her. Abir gave a friendly pat to the horse's neck before signaling for her to go. He didn't want to be away from civilization any longer than necessary. The paladin nodded as the woman introduced herself, keeping pace with his steed and her current rider. "And you too, Anaris. Anyway, I suppose it's good we ran into each other in a way. You're heading to the capital as are we and got help with those bandits back there. We also appreciate you helping us navigate the area. We actually haven't been here before. It's good to know someone before we actually settle in," the man noted. He didn't know how long he and his sister planned to stay in the capital, however it would at least be for a few weeks. It was a good idea to have someone to trust and know during their time within the city.
"Yes, thank you," Odali agreed from the back. With her brother ahead keeping the woman distracted, Odali took the time to snap her cat back into existence. The familar wasn't really a cat, just some sort of fae spirit or creature that took the chosen form of a brown and white tabby. The wizard thought it would be better to have her cat now than risk prying questions later. It was better to hide her abilities than to risk something like death. Whispering under her breath, Odali snapped her fingers and the familiar appe are ed before her in a puff. Fluffernutter blinked before in front of Odali, purring as she did so.
The small group began to travle once more through the empty field. Although it was unlikely to be another attack, especially aganist a group of three, the siblings kept an eye out for anything that seemed suspicious. If worse came to worse, Odali could probably teleport them to safety or even hold off a small group for a while. Of course, the wizard hoped it wouldn't come to that. She wanted to keep her true identity a secret for the time being.

Abir grinned and gave a small nod, though kept his eyes locked ahead. There was not telling what else could be around. Although his eyes wandered elsewhere, he listened as Anaris spoke. "Well as established, Odali and I are travlers. We left home about a year and a half ago to see more of the world. Admittedly we're not from Calea but one of the neighboring kingdoms. We thought it would be a new chance for adventure and exploration by coming here," the paladin explained. He glanced up at the mostly clear, blue sky for a moment. Anaris' dragon gracefully circled above. He didn't know much about the creatures, but it seemed it was calmer now that the woman was safe.
"Yup," Odali agreed again. "It's different from home, but I think I like it better so far." That didn't just have to do with the fact it was all new. It gave the siblings a chance for a fresh start. One that they both needed. The wizard watched the approching city ahead for a moment. It was diffcult to make out most details, but it was ceetinaly bigger than anything she had seen before. It capture her awe briefly. As she watched the buildings ahead, something else caught her eye. Narrowing her hazel gaze, Odali tried to make out what she was seeing. Small figures perhaps? Whatever it was, it moved too quickly for her to make anything out clearly.
"Hey, I think there's something ahead, but I can't tell what it is," the wizard informed the pair in front of her. They were getting closer to whatever she had seen. Odali watched as her brother glanced around. His hand subtly moved towards his sword. With a small nod, Odali reached into bag, ready for whatever might hit them next.

"Well that's certainly exciting then. Can't say there's many ruins back home," Abir noted with a smile. "A good, fair fight can be fun. But peace is usually preferable. I'm interested to see what else may be in store for us here." The conversation didn't contiune as they looked ahead. He still didn't see anything, but trusted Odali's word. If she said there was something there, then it was something to keep an eye out for. As they got closer, a group- larger than the one before -appeared and circled them. Abir reached for his sword, but hesitated. He didn't want to start anything prematurely. As he glanced at them, they finally spoke up. So they wanted something with Anaris. She was proving to be very popular apparently. Even for a noblewoman.
"And why would we do that?" Abir questioned, narrowing his eyes. He studied the group for a moment in hopes of picking up on who they might be or what they wanted. The men weren't wearing any obvious uniforms, but stood proud as though they were trained for it. So they were disciplined in some way. That could prove to be useful information. The men tightened the circle around them slightly. If the siblings were going to attack, it had to be quickly. He glanced at Odali again. The men moved in closer. Although he would've prefered to avoid a fight, it didn't seem like that was going to happen. The hazel-eyed girl locked eyes with him for a moment.
"I'm going to swarm them," the wizard declared to her brother, not caring if anyone heard her or not. It wasn't like they would have time to prepare for her attack anyway. She glanced his way for a moment and watched as he nodded, clearly understanding what she meant. The paladin kept his hand at the ready for his sword. Once they were distracted, he could do his thing. Odali wasn't going to wait around for them to make the first move. She had the advantage of surprise. After all, it was unlikely they were expecting a wizard. The young woman pulled a set of insect wings and a few bits of grain from her pocket. Delicately cupping her hand, she watched the men behind her, confusion growing on their faces. She blew. One insect flew out, then a few followed, then probably twenty until there was a proper swarm. The humming of hundreds of insects filled the air as they headed for the group.
A few yelped in surprise, though they held their ground. As they were distracted, Odali jumped off her horse and walked towards them. She pulled out a few things from her pockets before drawing a symbol in the air and tapping it. It began to glow. She swiftly repeated the process for a few more symbols, placing them almost side by side. As the insects began to fade away, the symbols began to shoot out bits of elemental magic. One was a ray of fire, another ice, another yet lightning, and the last vines that entwined together. They shot out at an alarming speed, hitting a few guards and further distracting them.
As Odali began to do her magic, Abir pulled out his sword. His eyes glowed with pride as he watched her briefly. Turning his attention back to the assailants, he was going to take full advantage of their surprise. He lurched forward in full armor, slower than he usually would've been. It simply wasn't suited for the enviorment. Despite that, he managed to knock one of the men down and began fighting with another. Unlike the previous group, this one was larger. They could probably handle it, but it would be close.
