(Aw that's sweet. I have two younger siblings, one is in elementry school and the other in middle, so we still do Easter activities. My mom got a few backyard game things and they had to find them around the yard. They had fun, which was good.
Also sounds good.)

Her spells easily distracted the men around them, giving her the oppertunity for another surprise attack. The wizard prepared to launch another spell, but stopped as something caught her attention. One of the soliders had called Anaris' name. They know each other?! She thought with surprise. The spell died in her hand as she watched them for a moment. The pair had a silent exchange, though it didn't seem to be that of enemies. After a minute, the redheaded woman raised her hand and ordered the men to stand down. With a gentle wave of her hand, the wizard dismissed all her spells. Anything that remained vanished in a blink of an eye. There was no evidence that a magic user had ever been around, but of course everyone knew there had been.
The realization of the situation suddenly hit Odali. The young woman stepped backwards towards her horse, her hazel eyes fixed to those around. She could feel unease suddenly rise in her chest. In her expierence, people had mixed reactions to wizards and magic users like her. Many were indifferent, some were awestruck, and others hated them. A dangerous few even went as far as to hunt them down. Perhaps it was due to the lack of understanding or maybe it was the fear of the unknown. That didn't matter at that moment. Odali didn't know what type Anaris and the men fell into, but she hoped it wasn't the last one.
The man Abir fought stopped as the noblewoman shouted an order. The paladin disengaged and backed off himself , though he was left wondering just who the redhead was. He glanced around and observed the other men who followed her command. It was clear she had some kind of authority over them and that they seemed to respect her word. Who us she? He wondered. Abir didn't dwell on it as he turned to his sister and sheathed his sword. The paladin carefully made his way towards Odali, the last thing he wanted was for the fight to continue. He felt eyes on him as he moved, but ignored them. When he finally reached his sister, Abir could hear Anaris and the guard- Kean was apparently his name -were still speaking with each other.
"I think they're related," Odali whispered as soon as Abir was close. "Siblings or maybe cousins. There's some similarities in their features." The paladin narrowed his eyes and could see what his sister was talking about. "I think it's the bone structure and the look of contempt," she added. Abir snorted and chuckled softly. Before he could say anything, the guard called Anaris the queen. The paladin blinked in surprise and his mouth hung open slightly. Anaris was no simple noblewoman, but a queen. It all made sense from how the men listened to her, to how she carried herself, and even to her dress which marker her as a noble, but nothing more.
"She's what?" Odali said, eyes wide. A few guards looked towards her, causing the girl to redden slightly. The paladin glanced at his sister, his mind suddenly swarming with many thoughts about what just happened. He was snapped back to the situation at hand as Kean asked about him and his sister. Abir glanced towards Odali and swallowed hard wondering how he would keep them both safe.
"We're travlers," he began. "My sister and I were heading to the capital city when we ran across An-...the queen. We helped her with some bandits and were going together to the capital before you showed up. We assumed, falsely, that you were also here to attack." He paused for a moment and glanced at Odali again. He didn't know how they would react to his sister being a wizard now that things have calmed down. "We can get our horses and turn around now. You can escort us from your kingdom and you'll never see us again. We won't fight you." Although he didn't outright say it, Abir made it clear there were other options to death for them. If not for the both of them, at least Odali. He hadn't heard much about how things were run in Calea, but prepared for the worst. He only wanted to keep his sister safe.

Odali simply nodded. It made sense that she wouldn't have said anything before they reached the city. The wizard and her brother were strangers who could've seen some oppertunity in having a queen with them. While that wasn't the case, Anaris had no way of knowing that. Odali glanced towards the man she assumed was the queen's cousin or brother as he made a comment. Abir probably should've eased into that better, she thought. Despite the situation calming down, Odali still worried about the fate of her and Abir. It didn't take long for the paladin to make an offer to leave and for the queen to refute it.
"What do you think?" Odali whispered to her brother. The offer was very tempting. The pair hadn't had anywhere stable to call home for over a year. It would be nice oppertunity for them to rest and get themselves taken care of for at least a little while.
"Well it would be rude to turn down an invitation from a queen," the man noted. "Also I think it'll do us some good to stay in one place for longer than a week or two." The young woman simply nodded and let her brother answer. She didn't want anyone jumping to conclusions about her. Abir held his hands up and took a step forward, careful not to alarm the guards.
"We appreciate your offer and will take you up on it. I also don't mean to overstep, but I think it's a good idea to head into the city to talk. I'm sure you may have some questions for us and I imagine it's safer than staying out here." The paladin caught a few guards nodding agreement. While there was safety in numbers, they now had to worry about being with a queen and her royal guard.
With everything seemingly settled, Abir stepped to the side as Odali moved to get back on her horse. He could hear her cat familiar purring as she mounted her horse. He glanced at his sister again and caught Fluffernutter rubbing her head aganist the wizard's arm. Abir light smiled before turning towards his own horse and the nearby queen.
"If you would like to, you can continue to ride Windstreaker," he offered Anaris. He would feel more comfortable walking beside Odali anyway.
(Should we do a timeskip to the arrival at the castle?)

She stood by her brother while the other siblings discussed if they should take her offer. "You know Anaris, you can't be too trusting of these people." Kean whispered to her, "That girl, she is a wizard. They can be dangerous if they both wanted to be." "Yes I suppose they could, but so could anyone my dear brother." The woman looked at him raising a brow, "Come now, they saved my life, a place to stay is the least we can do. If any one steps out of line we have a whole army at my finger tips." She pointed upward, "And I have her." The dragon was small, she was young still able to fit on Anaris' shoulders without being too heavy. That didn't mean that she wasn't in fact a dragon and wasn't ready to attack if told. Once they had agreed to join them she smiled happily and took the paladin up on his offer to ride the horse back. It didn't take too long for them to reach the castle. It was built into a huge mountain the loomed over the marketplace, casting a long shadow as it did. "Welcome to Terlis Keep, my home, and yours as you need it." The woman jestured to the exspansive castle that only got better as they went in. (Here is the castle for reference moziru.com/images/drawn-desert-digital-art-13.jpg) (Sorry it is short > . < )

Odali and Abir stayed quiet during the entier ride. People gwaked at the group as they travled through the city, which wasn't surprising as their queen and her guards were with them. The wizard cringed at the feeling of eyes watching her as they moved along. She ignored the feeling as best she could, instead focusing on the path ahead. Vibrant, colorful cloth hung from banners or were draped across various objects. It contrasted with the warm earth tones of the cityscape. Scents drifted through the streets. Spices, freshly baked goods, and perfumes hung in the air. The wizard smiled lightly. She always enjoyed seeing what a new expierence a town or city had to offer.
It wasn't long until they reached the lone mountain with a sprawling building. Guards, of course, were keeping watch in the front. Odali's eyes widened as they approched. She had never seen something so grand before. Abir quietly gasped beside her, equally as impressed with the structure. Anaris called it the Terlis Keep. The wizard wondered how it earned the name. I'll just have to research that later, she concluded. When everyone came to a stop, Odali got off her horse. She collected her bag from the saddle and slung it over her shoulder. She didn't like the idea of leaving it unattended, especially as she had some valuables in it.
"Now what?" Abir muttered.
"I don't know. Maybe you can ask?"
"And why would I do that when I have you? I mean you can read their minds or tell the future or something?" There was a slight teasing to his voice. He didn't really mean it.
Odali snorted and rolled her eyes. "You know very well that's not how it works. Also I wouldn't exactly be comfortable with doing that for multiple reasons, one of which include the risk of being stabbed by the many weapons in the area." Abir smiled lightly, but said nothing more as his attention turned to his horse. The mare was growing uneasy as stablehands collected the horses. The paladin rushed to Windstreaker as she whined and tried to pull away from the attendants.
"Easy girl, easy," he whispered as he patted her neck. The mare settled down. "Let these nice people take care of you because Ods and I have some things to take care of. I'll come see you as soon as I can, okay?" The mare snorted and nuzzled Abir's hand as though she was responding to his words. The paladin smiled as she was led away before joining his sister. Fluffernutter had curled herself around Odali's neck, eyes unblinking as she took in the new environment. He scratched the familiar's head before turning towards their hosts.
"So now that we're at your home, is there anything you wanted to talk about? Well not out here obviously, but whenever we get somewhere a little more comfortable."
(No worries! Also the picture isn't working for me, though I don't know if that's due to me being on mobile or not.)
