They've interacted twice and I already love them. Gratitude for the tom emanated from her, warming her heart at his seemingly ceaseless affection the warrior was her rock, and whilst she thanked starclan every day for the clan which surrounded her, it was the tom before her that kept some sanity to the battle-hardened shecat.
She listened to his report with a flick of her ears, considering for a moment. "StarClan is kind to us this leafbare," she mused; whilst it remained early days for the bitterly cold season to hear that prey remained fairly reasonable was a weight off the leader's shoulders. The nursery was largely empty at least, meaning the majority of the clan were working to feed the others.
Careful, she warned herself with a grimace that sent ice lacing her heart. You're beginning to sound like your father, distinguishing the useful from the others. The idea was a terrifying one.
She wouldn't have been able to live with herself if she became anything like the cruel tom, she would have sooner thrown herself from the cliffs before coming even close to that.
"I don't think that's possible," she retorted, though Emberstar hadn't ventured close enough to the nursery to find out just yet, the calico harboured little doubt that she would retreat with cuffed ears and cruel words following her wake. She chuckled, "Perhaps waiting until Darkblossom retires would be the safer bet," she reasoned.
Her gaze journeyed back to the medicine cat apprentice and her deputy, a place she had carefully been avoiding allowing her gaze to venture as soon as her isolation was broken. "Being scathed by an apprentice, like any good deputy." Emberstar returned, biting back the fondness which dared to breach her measured tone. "That apprentice will burn camp to the ground one of these days," her chuckle was quiet and restrained.

[ I totally promise this is my last characterxD I just couldn't resist getting in on the kit world with no imminent kittings in the future..] Toadkit Toadkit is a fluffy grey tom with white wisps of fur around his pelt. He has very large ears and small eyes, the greenish-amber shade of a muddy toad. He is of burly build, with features that always look as if he hasn't quite yet grown into them. Toadkit is a watcher of all. He observes all around him, and can usually be found off in his own mind following after a curiously shaped leaf or a neat sounding bird. Rarely a word leaves his mouth, and anything that does is always a question. Toadkit is just as likely to ask why the sky is blue as he is to ask when he'll next eat. Curiosity marks him as a blessing and a fatal attribute. His measure of risk is fair, unless intrigued. Then, he could very well walk right into the talons of a hawk if a pretty flower caught his eye in its shadow. He cares little for discipline or authority, and though he never acts maliciously, this disregard for the rules of others endangers him as he grows nearer to apprenticeship. Toadkit believes the world is a place to be explored, and he will not listen to anyone who stands in the way of him peering at all the wonders his heart desires. Stealthfire Kit. hey! i'm super interested in joining and i was thinking of bringing three of my babies into the mix: an apprentice and two warriors. i want their appearances to fall in rly well with the rest of the clan though so i was wondering if anyone wanted to volunteer their character(s) to be family? mates, parents, siblings, etc??
EDIT;; their sexes are also open to debate! depending on if anyone is looking for a mate of a specific sex for their character! ))

Snowwhisker.
Known for her dappled coat and delicate features, Snowwhisker grew up being praised for little more than being pretty. Any achievement of hers that was rather average was often treated with a disproportionate amount of wonder, due to her striking appearance. This created a general insecurity inside of her surrounding her own intelligence and capability as a warrior and she has since developed something of a superiority complex. She trains hard and takes much pride in providing for her clan, but finds it hard to connect with others and thus, others find it hard to connect with her. Her demeanour is often chilly and condescending, a coping mechanism designed by her to overcome the awkwardness she feels when interacting with those she isn't particularly close with. However, when around her loved ones, the mask slips and she becomes significantly more loveable.

Jadeclaw
Power certainly seems to run through this bloodline. Taking after his brother, Jadeclaw is built sturdy. Though his fur is long and mane-like, it is less deceiving than one may think. Underneath it all, he is muscular and bulky. This can be credited to his constant burning need to keep up with his brother and impress his father, as when he was born, he was so weak that it was a concern that he would not make it past his first moon. His apprenticeship was difficult socially and, as a result, he is very sensitive to praise and searches for it constantly. Some see this as endearing, others find it annoying. Despite his age (and the struggles his age entail), his personality is upbeat and friendly, making him very easy to talk to. He would not consider himself immature, simply an optimist. He takes great pride in his position as a senior warrior and does his utmost to better his clan.

Alderpaw.
With his bright amber eyes, grey and orange pelt, and large, rounded ears, Alderpaw is something of a strange sight. He hopes he will grow into his appearance soon, but until then, he is doomed to be awkward. Though he excels as a hunter and a runner, when he's not utterly focused on a task at hand, he tends to trip over himself and mix up his wording. This anxiety has no known root cause; he has behaved as such since he was a kit. His combat abilities also leave much to be desired. Though he works hard, it's a well-known fact that his insecurity is a damning feature of his when it comes to staring down an opponent and engaging in most forms of competition. Alertness and the harnessing of his smell and sight is where his comfort zone lies. He is also rather lanky and can run seemingly forever without losing motivation or breath.
