The warrior's studied gaze followed the apprentice's careful ascent into the tree tops of the ruined tree, his every sense fixed to the apprentice as she leapt brazenly from tree branch to tree branch, show off, but there was little amusement accompanying the thought. Such heights were nothing to laugh at, at least not in the bulky warrior's mind, but if that was a lesson Tawnypaw had to learn, let it be of her own accord rather than by offering his own cautions. Gravity could be a cruel teacher, but at least the long grass surrounding Lightning Point would offer something in the way of a soft landing should worse come to absolute worst. For now the warrior elected to conduct his lesson from a distance, here he could better offer orders in a means through which he could see the larger picture. Rather than up close where he'd be forced to concentrate on where he placed his own paws as well as his apprentice's. Plus, the pair of them on a single branch was asking for trouble. "Keep low to the branch," he offered, watching as she found her footing and increased in confidence as Tawnypaw continued ever upward. "Squirrels are not the only things you'll find up there, and if as much as a wren spots you consider it all over," his tail flicked from side to side. Getting comfortable in his spot in the dewy grass, the breeze left the foliage whipping at his coat, but the massive tom seemed either unaware or uncaring, observant regardless of the world around him. "And for the love of the stars slow down." If anything happened to the pintsized apprentice, he was all too aware Fallowslate would take his pelt to line her nest.

Halfdawn / Fallowslate ᔕɿɱƿՆעᗰעς੮ע / Fawnfall ☾ѕησσzє☽
The she-cat felt herself brought back into the conversation and away from her spiraling thoughts. "If Tawnypaw's anything like Monarchpaw, and we both know she is, Stormchaser might be using all the rest of his energy to see her into warriorhood." It was a funny thing that she shared with the senior warrior, both of them being in charge of two sisters who were far more alike than they themselves liked to think they were. Those few moons ago when Emberstar's decision to make Stormchaser the mentor of such an exhausting apprentice certainly came as a surprise to Halfdawn, who thought for certain the ginger tabby would be handed off to a much younger, more enthusiastic warrior with plenty of attitude to hand right back at Tawnypaw. She shared a funny thought with Fallowslate, both of them knowing Stormchaser well from their similar ages, "I almost feel a need to check on Stormchaser's health after he's finished his mentorship, the whole ordeal could very well push the poor tom to an early retirement," she joked. Tawnypaw would doubtless learn a wealth of knowledge from him, but the reserved warrior would need all his strength to teach it.
She was delighted to see that Fallowslate had accepted her update on Monarchpaw's progress, and listened to her reaction carefully just as Fawnfall entered. With knowing ears, Halfdawn let the warrior give her story, all the while focusing more on the paw's appearance and how she carried herself on it. "No need to be embarrassed around me," she told the conscious she-cat, "I've treated much more foolish injuries in all my moons." Giving a quick closer glance at the paw, she meowed, "No blood. Looks as if you've had a bit of a sprain. I'll go find some elder leaves, just rest here, and keep your weight off it." Leaving her to speak with her sister momentarily, the medicine cat took herself behind a small nook in the roots of her den, and used her nose to sniff through her dried store for the required herb.

Fallowslate ❝ ━Throw kindness around like confetti. ♛
The molly gave an appreciative nod after Halfdawn, thankful for the medic’s swift reaction time and execution. She truly admired her companion’s handiwork and the dedication she gave it, nurturing her skill in healing like Fallowslate did hunting. Watching as the tortoiseshell’s slender frame finally vanished in search of the necessary herbs, the queen drew her gaze toward her little sister.
“I’m fine, sugarcube. Thank you for asking,” she purred, a sweet, lilting sound of gratitude. And it was true. Everyday it seemed like. But today… Today was just a little different, noticed in the bright of her eye, or the curve in her stance. And though she definitely didn’t rely on Halfdawn for happiness, it was obvious their interaction had lent to a brief surge in happiness. There was no doubt the queen had a fondness for the Clan’s medicine cat, even if their on-and-off relationship wasn’t always easy.
Shaking from thought, she realized with a start her mother senses were tingling—the queen’s unexplainable intuition ingrained since youth. She immediately pressed her chin atop of Fawnfall’s head, offering a comforting presence.
“Aww shug, no need to be so worried! It was only an accident. You'll be fixed good as new and it will be like this never happened. I'll make sure of it, sound good?"

𝔽𝕒𝕨𝕟𝕗𝕒𝕝𝕝
She felt a moment of comfort in her sister's presence and fretting over her, but it was quickly fleeting as she pushed herself away. She didn't want her sister, who was a queen and surely would would have more to be worried about, to be concerned about her. She closed her eyes for a few moments, residing in her happy place. She could picture the moving clouds above her and the wind through her fur, letting it relax her tense muscles and loosen the tightness of her jaw. She slowly blinked open her eyes and put on a happy smile.
"I know, it was just a tad embarrassing how the whole thing went down." She tried to make her voice sound reassuring, much like Fallowslate would do. "I guess Halfdawn will have to fix me up and I'll be on my way.." Her voice trailed off as though she was thinking about something else but it was only a second later her head jerked back to focus on the molly. "How is it being a queen?" She desperately was wanting the attention away from herself. "I bet it's not a walk in the forest, is it?"

Lichenstone / Mosslight calliope "You'd bring me there?" he asked, a little surprised. "I really don't want to be using up time you could be lending to the clan." Maybe it was possible, and Mosslight certainly made it sound achievable, even just for a little while. The elder had finished with his vole, and began grooming his whiskers thoughtfully with one paw. It had been awhile now that the clan had known peace, but Lichenstone was so accustomed to putting his desires aside from his bare needs for the sake of the clan. Since he was so old, anything he wanted had to be done by or with the help of a warrior's valuable time, and that was something he didn't like placing on his hardworking young clanmates. He had seen Stormchaser leave with Tawnypaw earlier, so maybe if they left and were back in time before the warrior returned. Lichenstone didn't like the idea of his son worrying about him, and though he wasn't sure his excursion would cause Stormchaser concern, he nevertheless didn't want to risk it. "Perhaps...but we'd need to get permission from Halfdawn." A tiny glint of mischief showed in his pale green eye. He was holding out, still not too convinced they would be permitted to leave. But even the attempt of leaving camp with his grandkit made him feel like a daring apprentice again, sneaking out at the urging of his bolder denmates.

[Necs feel like doing a little Ember/Hickory?:))) ] Tawnypaw / Stormchaser 🇳ᴇcʀᴏᴅ🇦🇳cᴇʀ The ginger she-cat took note of her mentor's words, but dared not vocalise her comprehension. The wind buffeted at her scruffy pelt, threatening to unbalance her. She shrunk her short limbs close to the branch on which she stood. Nothing here, she noticed, taking inventory of any nest clumps of bird or rodent in reachable view. Moving back to the trunk, Tawnypaw clambered up a length higher, to the next rung of branches. She ran through everything she knew of this type of hunting. Like Stormchaser had said, even the smallest bird hearing her could mean the end. Trees were exposed, so any noise she made that was picked up by an animal would alert every living thing in the entire tree to escape.
A gathering of dense twigs were two branches met caught her eye. Creeping close, she heard nothing. With a delicate paw, she swiped in at the clump. When no squeak or squawk emitted from the nest, Tawnypaw peeked inside. Three eggs, a very edible find. She was nearly about to paw the full nest down for a hopefully soft landing of the eggs below, when a swooping sparrow screeched into her ear. The sharp blow from the protective bird startled Tawnypaw, and two paws slipped from the side of her perch. Yelping shock, the little she-cat scrambled to grasp a hold of the branch with her two forepaws. She tried to swipe at the still pecking sparrow with a front paw, but nearly lost her grip as the bird carried on ceaselessly. "Stormchaser!" she shrieked. "I can't get down!" She hissed and spat as the bird struck for her eyes and nose.

He had watched with mild confusion as the shecat ascended ever higher, his alert gaze couldn't spot anything in the way of squirrels nor anything else where she headed, thus the massive tom wasn't entirely certain as to what her aim was in this seemingly random choice of path. He parted his lips to offer something in the way of query, but before he could she had stopped. What in the name of the Stars is she up to now? He growled, fangs flashing slightly beneath his lips. Observant but silent, curiosity tainted the waters of his worry now and he allowed the tension to flood somewhat from his frame. Gaze narrowed as he watched her lean down, then brightening a shade he was grateful she would never see when he comprehended what her efforts sought. Though the little wicker nest wasn't visible from his vantage point, he assumed no other prey source would be so silly as to sit so still and wait for death. But his heart all but stopped when he spotted the bird return to its nest with a vengeance. He had moved to yell out a warning, but the tiny avenger had already begun its attack. Stormchaser was forced to observe, a useless bystander as the apprentice lost her footing and was almost sent tumbling downwards. Lunging forward, his muscled form finding purchase on the slick bark as he began driving himself up the treeside with everything he had. An easy enough task, but once it came to finding a tree branch close enough to the struggling apprentice that could stand the burden of his weight, that was a more difficult obstacle. Easing onward, trying to find a balance between being quick enough to save his apprentice from a grisly fate and not ending up with one himself. Stormchaser flicked his tail, doing what he could to ignore the terrified mewls of his apprentice, knowing distraction might well have been the death of both of them. "Calm down," he might as well have asked the wind not to howl, but it was all he could offer for now. As he made his steady and careful way down the branch, the sparrow darted away. Seemingly deciding her brood wasn't worth the effort of attempting to peck the eyes out of a warrior as large as himself, but now that left an entirely different problem to be solved. Getting the pair of them down from here, without taking the quick route.

[Omg what a gem, glad she's all good though, was wondering where she's been at! I'll do a little transition piece for him anywho and take after your starter:)]
Hickorysight / Emberstar 🇳ᴇcʀᴏᴅ🇦🇳cᴇʀ
Feeling he had supported the orange apprentice as well as he could in the presence of Cometpaw's caring mother, Hickorysight bowed his head in a slight farewell. He had meant what he said, he would see if he could surmise any little information out of Driftwind as to Cometpaw's assessment, the dawning of which was naturally to be soon. So many things the grey warrior wished to do, but he thought best to check in with Emberstar before any of them were seen to. If he went past noon without knowing how she was faring that day, he would be worried til dark about her.
Making his way to the leader's den, he saw her calico pelt at the entrance, and his bright yellow eyes crinkled with a smile. "And what's on your mind for tasks today?" he purred as he greeted her, siding his pelt next to her own and settling close. "I was off with the dawn patrol, but I'm sure you suspected that." He knew if anyone respected his desire for early morning duties, it was her. "I was just about to visit Darkblossom and her little warriors, but I'm happy to change my agenda if you have any better ideas?" He hoped either way he would get to spend time with his mate. Some days, Hickorysight felt an especial draw to the familiarity of his fellow oldest warriors, and Emberstar shared more with him than anyone else in the clan.

Halfdawn / Fallowslate ᔕɿɱƿՆעᗰעς੮ע / Fawnfall ☾ѕησσzє☽ As she listened to the muffled sounds of the sisters conversation, Halfdawn's heart swelled with love for Fallowslate. How could one cat be so accepting and caring? No matter the individual, Fallowslate always had concern and an open heart for their wellbeing. Fawnfall made the medicine cat thankful, with all that Fallowslate had lost, at least she had a sister. She loved each kit in the nursery as her own, and loved Halfdawn dearly whenever the bicoloured she-cat was accepting of it, but the queen having some cat of her own flesh and blood still beside her after all these moons was one good thing that Fallowslate deserved.
In the dark, with the muddled scent of a hundred herbs, Halfdawn unwillingly flashed back to her own brother, slipping away to a place with no stars while she sat helplessly by. Close in age, she and Sharpstone had grown up always near Fawnfall and Fallowslate. If only he had chosen a different path, or been more careful, maybe he would be able to seek comfort from her just as Fawnfall could trustworthily do with her sister. Halfdawn felt the need to enter the light to rid her tired mind of spiraling memories. Crumpled amongst tansy blossoms lay the last of her elder leaf supply. Picking up the herbs in her mouth, she turned her tail on the dim corner, and entered back into the spotted sunshine which filtered through the main space of her den. She wanted to listen to the sisters chat, a soft sense of normality to calm her exhausted psyche. "Nothing like the taste of a poultice to start your day," she meowed lightheartedly as she began to chew the bitter leaves.

The scarred shecat had settled herself in a sunny spot of camp, not far from the entrance of her den and was enjoying taking the time to groom the density of her calico pelt, the patchwork of colours glistening in the early morning sun. The scars prominent across all of her body, lacing their way through her muscled frame more apparent, though the veteranned leader seemed not to notice as she worked. It seemed her camp was largely deserted of warriors, something she considered herself fortunate for given it seemed to indicate a camp of hard workers, but it left the calico bored and alone. At the very least from this vantage point she was offered an unnoticeable place as audience, as she observed the argument between the deputy and the medicine cat apprentice. Her amusement was well disguised, but to an observant onlooker it was apparent she was listening to the pair. Her gaze was drawn upward at the sound of pawsteps, and her amber gaze softened a shade when she noticed who made his way over. Emberstar scoffed playfully, "I'd assumed my snoring had kept you up and you'd run for your life," she retorted, drawing her tail around her frame. "Anything of note?" She added with a twitch of her ears, his casual tone depicted nothing to be worried about, but it was always worth the check. She doubted Hickorysight was the secretive type, but then even if it was she could hardly scold him for it, given she had kept a large one from him for many moons now. "I don't know..." She said, as though truly contemplating and her gaze narrowed a little. "Do you really fancy losing your pelt to Darkblossom?" The queen was notorious for her over protective nature, and even the leader knew to keep her distance unless necessary. "Is spending a few minutes with fluffy kits worth going bald for a moon?" She stood upright, rasping her tongue across his ear in an affectionate gesture of greeting.

Hickorysight / Emberstar 🇳ᴇcʀᴏᴅ🇦🇳cᴇʀ
"Nothing out of place," the grey tom reported. "It does seem that the prey is running rather well though, from the amount of scent trails I came across just along the edges of our territory." He hoped this would bring her satisfaction. Hickorysight relished every opportunity he had to deliver good news to Emberstar, building up her confidence in their current times. The warrior understood it was easier for him to be optimistic than for his mate, her role demanded a level of worry. But he would do all in his power to strongly emphasise the best details of their days. He purred and nuzzled against her, hit with a wave of appreciation for their relationship together. There were things that both of them needed to sacrifice to accept being mates and maintaining their roles in the clan, but Hickorysight believed the clan was lucky to have a leader who was loved so fiercely by another. It was difficult for him to imagine a leader without a mate, much less Emberstar without one, but in his own mind nothing good came of a leader on their own against the trials of life.
He laughed at her comparing the risks. To him, a few minutes with fluffy kits could well brighten his whole day. "Me? I'm wise enough to sweeten her disposition toward me before I dream of playing with those little ones." He himself was the best natured cat he knew, and though it didn't always work, toiling away at a friendly and respectful angle toward the queen sometimes bought him a small amount of time with her sweeter brood. "It's you whose pelt I worry about. I don't know if she'll ever allow you to make them apprentices. I think for your sake you should consider waiting til they're warrior age anyway," he snickered at the thought. After just witnessing Mistberry's concern for her elder apprentice Cometpaw, it was easy for Hickorysight to picture Darkblossom still swiping others' ears for the sake of her full grown warrior kits. "Has Mumblewolf been around? I haven't seen him since before dawn." He was curious as to where the deputy had ventured, but figured something of importance doubtlessly claimed his time.

Tawnypaw / Stormchaser 🇳ᴇcʀᴏᴅ🇦🇳cᴇʀ
The time it took for her to catch a blurry glimpse of her mentor's pelt felt like an eternity of agony on her strained muscles. She squinted her eyes and bowed her head to escape the swallow's mussing, but made the mortal mistake of peering downward in the process. The distance below made her chest tighten and her head feel woozy, slowly she felt her body disorienting and her paws loosen. Just then, the flurry of beak and wings lifted from above her. With sharp adrenaline piercing through her blood, Tawnypaw's head flicked back upward and she regained her pawholds. Using the very last of her energy, she heaved the bottom half of her body, which now felt as heavy as Stormchaser's, up unsteadily onto the body of the thin branch. Her back legs stood uncertainly on the thicker part of the branch, leaving her facing only the thin spindly length ahead. Her limbs shook so much, she was unsure if she would be able to turn around in the direction of safety. Shivering with fear, she called out, hoping to hear Stormchaser's voice right behind her, but terrified of even her shout breaking the branch's fibers. "I'm sorry." It was the only thing that could escape her lips, though her body felt as if it would drop from the air, she tensed with embarrassment over her predicament. "I don't know how to move away," she added, her mind running blank on anything that could aid her direction.
