Twistedbranch / Riverstream jayfeather
The massive she-cat refused to lay comfortably, instead staying in a rigid sitting position. She was hopelessly disappointed that Riverstream had bothered to speak with her for no reason other than- well, Twistedbranch actually wasn't yet sure the exact reason for his determination to hold a conversation with her. Her friends were a close group of cats who she had either trained with or shared similar views with, and she really didn't bother to leave that circle for social reasons unless there was particularly good action to be seen. As the grey warrior returned, Twistedbranch took the initiative of having the first bite of her mouse. Mealy, and meagre, just like I thought. Next time she left to gallivant on her own in the early hours of the morning, she really would have to put some more effort into her catch. Anyone else tasting this mouse would think an apprentice had caught it half-dead on their first day of training. She was unable to understand Riverstream's point of being around her with nothing to discuss. If he had begun their conversation, she would see to it that he found a way to keep it going, or else it would teach him to ever speak to her without scandal again.

The tom had listened to the apprentice’s continued rambling absent mindedly, seemingly his speaking quota fully used up for the rest of his life in the space of a single afternoon. Such seemingly was the nature of having a bite sized apprentice with the capacity to talk the tail off a fox. Though his gratitude seemed not to stem from the freedom of conversation, but rather getting rid of a topic he would rather not think about. Despite his apprentice’s best attempts at cheerleading and raising his spirits, Stormchaser was all too aware of what he had done in the past, and whilst he wouldn’t burden the pipsqueak with such knowledge, it rendered the weight on his old shoulders almost too heavy to manage. Almost. With a lurch of his tail to indicate she should get moving, “Climb,” was the only word he offered as means of accompaniment, concentrating at the task at hand, and any hint of the cat he had opened up to be seemingly vanishing into the bitter early morning air around them. His gaze more weary than it had been when he’d initially woken, a shade duller even in the soft golden light. Stormchaser was a tom who preferred to teach on the job, lesssons were better reinforced through practice rather than theory after all. I’d like to make it known I’m very excited to throw ember at hickory at some point.

☾ѕησσzє☽ - - { That's fine by me RD <33 Just a heads up! That would mean everyone else their family, but them are still alive, since I've put Fallow's family as dead. So no living parents/uncles/aunts sadly ;a;. How do you think their relationship should go ^^? To me, Fallow acts like the big sister and caretaker to anyone (she's a permanent queen that adopts all unwanted kits), so she'd definitely be there for Fawn whenever she needs it. }

(Im gonna love Lichen's and Moss's relationship so much! And thank you guys! But I can't take full credit for it. The coding belongs to someone else. I just changed color schemes and backgrounds to be more fitting. And adjusted a few coding lines!)
"Oh you know," the grey molly started off. "Nothing super special. Mumblewolf had some of us go on a hunting patrol. But you'll never guess what I saw!" Her pitched got dramatically higher. "A FAWN. It was so cute. It was over by Cattail Meadow!" Mosslight was a little older than 23 moons, so the small stuff still kind of excites her. Nevertheless, the tabby cat continued. "Have you ever seen a deer before? Well I'm sure you have old fart." She teased as she stuck out her tongue. "I'm just joking. Anyway," she paused, pawing her mouse over to her and holding it in her paws as she took a bite.

The she-cat had managed to avoid every patrol so far, causing a wave of relief to wash over her pelt. There was something else gnawing at her stomach though, perhaps guilt? She didn't like avoiding patrols but she thought it necessary to avoid any conflict that may arise in her life, even something as small as the daily patrols. She scanned the clearing, wondering if she should even bother sitting next to any of the cats already out. They may notice she wasn't on patrols yet. There's still the ones this evening, you could say you're waiting on those. Her head shook, freeing the excuse from herself. She didn't need to speak to anyone, it was her own choices and she didn't need to explain herself.
Yes you do, mouse-brain. Others may gossip. Stop standing still, you look weird just standing outside the warrior's den looking around! She finally snapped free, giving a nervous once over to her surroundings before quickly walking away. She could eat something, though it wasn't exactly in her right to do that. She let in a deep breath once more, letting it fill her lungs before she continued towards the...oof what did she hit? Oh no...the fresh-kill pile. It seemed fine, just a bit scattered around. She frantically brought the prey back to it's neat pile, it wasn't much but enough to cause her heart to race. She glanced behind her, wondering if anyone noticed.

Scorchshadow was lounging by himself, waiting for a patrol to just fall into his paws. It should happen so right? He was necessity on most patrols in his own mind. To go without him was denying the clan the proper haul of prey or properly prepared borders. With each passing patrol though his heart sank. Why were they leaving without him? Surely the cats around him knew better. He tried to ignoring the stabbing at his heart, the feeling of betrayal. He couldn't let his face fall, they would know how much he needed this. Just go by yourself. And what? Come across as the cat who know one actually needs around? No. There had to be a cat still left in the camp to go with him. Even one...He pleaded. {starters are out ;w; }

[Ah it's lovely even so! As someone who has spent the last week trying to code late into the night I appreciate it greatly:| And yes, I have been just WAITING for my sweet Lichen to rp with family he's an older character of mine and I just love him]
Lichenstone / Mosslight calliope
As the she-cat took off with her tale, Lichenstone listened with calm interest. "A fawn, how darling!" he purred, taking more steady bites of the vole at his paws. "Cattail meadow is always so pretty at sunrise or sunset," the old tom reminisced. "I think that's a favourite place for deer to hide their young, such gentle little creatures." Lichenstone adored Mosslight's personality, taking so much from her mother and himself. He would much prefer to hear stories of pretty fawns and sweet meadows than violent spats or vicious encounters. As Mosslight was too young to have been horridly involved with the wars of the past, the elder clung to her cheeriness as a hope that their clan could live in harmony, and not an endless cycle of innocence being destroyed. "I only wish I could see a deer again. Or any animal that wasn't already dead, really," he chuckled, motioning to the bones of the vole.

Tawnypaw / Stormchaser 🇳ᴇcʀᴏᴅ🇦🇳cᴇʀ
As she reached the tree, Tawnypaw took little time to process her mentor's simple command. With all her day's flattery out of her system, the she-cat cooled her sparking demeanor, steeling her nerves into precision concentration. Eyeing the charred trunk for a mere second, she powered her small frame in a massive leap to the highest point her claws could scrabble. She used her stout legs to grip firmly onto the thick bark, and inched her way upwards. Finally, not without ample testing of weight, she reached a limb flat and sturdy enough for her to venture out upon. She was wary of the burnt branches- though they looked thick, they could very well crumble into ash beneath her paws.
Blinking down at her mentor several fox-lengths below, Tawnypaw waited patiently upon his next command or adjustment. She worked hard in training, the challenge was always hunkering down through the barrage of her personality until instructions could be given. Perhaps with other warriors watching, she would ventured onto a riskier path, not ceasing until she had reached the very top. Cometpaw never seemed to react enough to make competition interesting, he was a bore to win against in anything, so Tawnypaw found her greatest pride was to exhibit her daring for warriors instead. But with only Stormchaser looking on, she was momentarily resigned to only impress him through that which he himself ordered her to do.

Mumblewolf ❝ ━But courage need not be remembered, for it is never forgotten. ♚
Lids fell partly down his gaze like folds from a curtain, hooding a blank stare into one of apathy, the peering teal aglow with an unimpressed bore that surrounded the black of thinned pupils. Such regard of indifference easily took on Monarchpaw’s one of loathing, water-blue meeting fire-yellow: unaffected by the hatred seething hot and mad at their surface, a disgust that bubbled and spewed, perhaps a summons, a dare, to look away, to submit completely and utterly to her will.
But Mumblewolf showed no sign of relent, and held her watch, noticed the strain of muscle and the flicker of want deep in her eyes’ gold—advertising a subconscious challenge the deputy refused to entertain. And if she had yielded to the desires presented in the tense of form, the healer would be bested in mere moments, not by offensive skill, but the foreseen clumsiness that would entail when the male sidestepped a blow aimed clearly for his muzzle. The understudy lacked not only finesse in combat, but a heeding judgement, preferring instead to throw herself with reckless abandon based on emotion alone. The battle-hardened warrior sought to fix that, partly based on Emberstar’s instructions, and partly by his own volition. Should the medic ever wish to be rid of him, she first had to prove herself capable, not to the deputy, but to the Clan’s leader herself.
Finally, her head gave way, and even if unaware, Monarchpaw came the first to break contact from their little staring contest. Mumblewolf managed a blink, slow and dismissive, possibly even disappointed she hadn’t been able to hold his sky-blue gaze a little longer. But, of course, the healer went directly back to her regular shenanigans, a sassy display filled to the brim with bold contempt. To say he was unsurprised was an understatement.
A huff of breath filtered from the soldier’s lips, steeling for yet another vomit of mindless blather… but instead his hearing met with the titles of destinations. Ears pricked upright and eyes flickered aware, perceptive now to the places she uttered, storing both locations deep in his mind’s lair. He took to swiftly mapping out safe routes to each site based on the lowest level of predator activity and nodded once finished.
Seeing her set off again, the deputy went to follow, but stalled. Any other cat given the same scornful, derisive treatment Monarchpaw gave him would’ve sneered at her hunger-filled sentiment. But Mumblewolf, compassionate as he was, stopped by the prey-pile and picked from it a vole, held firm by ivory fangs. Going out with a hungry stomach was definitely not recommended and he wasn’t about to allow his charge to faint from fatigue.

Her paw stung after the whole ordeal, causing a wave of heat to reach her ears. She couldn't tell if it was from embarrassment or the pain, either or the heat did her no favors. The young she-cat would certainly need it to be checked out by someone in the clan, preferably the medicine cat. She paused for a moment, wondering if this was even worth the bother. Would you rather clanmates question why you're still limping sunrises later? She decided she most certainly would not, letting herself search around for the medicine cat, upon spotting her she felt another wave of anxiety shoot through. Of course Fallowlight would be there, what will she think? That her sister is more clumsy than a badger. She still managed to get the courage to walk up to the two, standing a bit away as she whispered out her explanation for intruding.
"I...uh...well you see...Ihurtmypawwhilerunningintothefreshkillpileperhapsarockwasaround?" It all came out so fast and jumbled she wasn't even sure they could catch her words. Please don't make me speak louder, this is already so embarrassing.

Fallowslate ❝ ━Throw kindness around like confetti. ♛
Halfdawn’s merry laughter came as a soft welcome to the queen’s tufted ears, finding the heavenly sound something she missed in their conversation. It chimed so natural and sweet—and oh, how infectious it became, as Fallowslate joined in with her own lilting giggles that echoed off the walls in tiny tinkles.
“Perhaps not yarrow,” she chuckled, definitely amused by the prospect. Following with a tease of her own, she continued,
“But who knows about cobwebs! They look similar enough to clouds, maybe they taste the same?” A sudden change in mood befell the den and the molly peered from where she lay, giving her companion a concerned glance. Had she said something amiss?
She reached out a comforting paw, but hesitated as the healer went on to continue as though nothing had happened. And perhaps nothing had happened.
Fallowslate returned her forepaw to its regular placement, propping it neatly beneath her furred chest. Something like longing flickered past the heather of her gaze, but vanished back into the usual contentment all knew her for. Despite loosing her family, her mate, her unborn kits… She somehow managed to always put herself back together, piece by piece. She empathized greatly with those without a similar resolve, wanting nothing more than to help them. It could be the nurturing skill she needed as a mother or just purely her personality—either way, Fallowslate was incredibly compassionate.
“O-Oh, yes!” she promptly agreed, drawing from her daze after realizing Halfdawn had spoken. She gave a proud, vigorous nod.
“They’re definitely a rough-and-tumble pair. Incredibly boisterous and rambunctious, perhaps even more so than they were as kits! I’m sure Stormchaser will have his paws full with Tawnypaw.” Relief casted her face in a soft light and she released a throaty purr.
“I’m thrilled to hear that! With a lot of dedication, and under your wonderful instruction, Monarchpaw will make a fine healer. I would even go to-”
Out of the corner of her eye, the queen noticed someone enter. Turning her head, she found herself faced with her sister, Fawnfall. Fallowslate’s eyes lit up in gentle joy, though it promptly turned to worry. She hadn’t picked up everything her kin had said through her jumbled slur, but she managed to recognize enough to put the pieces together.
“Aww shug, c'mere and let Halfdawn have a look at that paw. It wasn’t that bad, was it?”
She rose to a stand and padded over to give the she-cat a comforting touch on her shoulder.
“She’ll fix ya up good as new!”

A twinge of sorrow stabbed at Mosslight's heart. I wonder if he could make it to Cattail Valley? she thought. Maybe if I ask Halfdawn for a travel pouch to help with the aches once we get there and some for on the way. The grey tabby smiled at the suggestion that came across her mind. "Say, grandpa. What if I ask Halfdawn for some herbs to help with your aching joints? Surely, she could give us a travel pack filled with daisy leaves or something." Her misty blue eyes twinkled over at Lichenstone. "I'd love to take you to Cattail Valley to let you see the alive animals," Mosslight chuckled as she finished her mouse.
