Sandpelt w/ Twistedbranch and Crowpaw [ Stealthfire] “I’m glad to hear that.” He spoke to Crowpaw. He reminded Sandpelt of other apprentices he’d encountered back in his old group. Some were because of that tom, others it was just their nature. He hoped it was the latter in regards Crowpaw. He looked up at Twistedbranch and smiled. “Sure, it’s best to ensure the next generation can defend the clan when we’re gone.” He replied.

( rockydublin if you want to. You could also just give out names so that I can put them instead of the question marks in the relations section. Stealthfire I'll sort out the members once I know how many of the inactive members and other members I need to delete.) Bramblepath shrugged. "I just learned to be really good at telling if a cat is not well. My mother was always very weak, but she would pretend that she was fine to go out on patrols and what not. She was good enough to trick everyone into thinking that she was fine. So good in fact that no one noticed she had greencough until it was too late to save her," he said, not making eye contact with Mothpelt. "Because of that, I taught myself how to see that sort of thing so that I could stop it from happening to another cat." Nightheart chuckled at Owlsight's words. "Well, maybe a story or two about hunting hawks up in the mountains will do the trick. What do you think?" He said. Nightheart always loved sharing his stories with other cats, especially one from his time before he joined Sparrowclan. It was his way of spreading his unique knowledge to them about subjects they might never be able to experience in their lives. Well, that was what he told other cats anyways. He just really enjoyed talking about his past.

(Ah, okay their mother’s name was Lotus and their father’s, Snow) Mothpelt w/Bramblepath [ 𝓓𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓱 𝓑𝓻𝓪𝓶𝓫𝓵𝓮] Mothpelt nodded her head. “I see. I’m sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine what that’s like. I never knew my mother... not that well anyway. I was separated from her when I was old enough to eat solid food.” She shook her head. “Um, sorry. I didn’t mean to say that.” She replied awkwardly. She didn’t want to make it about her and make the tom feel like his loss wasn’t important.

( AlphaWolves could you check my comment on your joining form? Thanks ) Bramblepath smiled at Mothpelt. "Don't worry about it. I've accepted it, and there is nothing I could have done at the time. I'm sorry about your mother as well. No cat should have to be separated from their mothers when their young," he said. He tapped her shoulder with his tail as he spoke, hoping to offer some degree of comfort to her. He knew how it felt to grow up without a mother, so he thought he might be able to offer more comfort to her than most other cats. He knew that he was probably wrong, but he decided tht he didn't particularly care.

Mothpelt w/ Bramblepath [ 𝓓𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓱 𝓑𝓻𝓪𝓶𝓫𝓵𝓮] “Thanks.” Mothpelt felt herself smiling, she didn’t smile often so when she did she took notice. “Why am I smiling? Stop it!” She found herself thinking. She didn’t want him thinking she was weird, especially since he’s been nice to her. Why did it matter if he thought she was weird? Why did it matter so much to her? She didn’t feel like this with Sparrowstar or Spiderblossom, so why did she feel this way towards Bramblepath? Could she talk with him about that? Maybe Sparrowstar would know?

"You should smile more often. It suits you," Bramblepath found himself saying before he realized it. He silently cursed himself for not thinking through what he was saying, and desperatly hoped that Mothpelt didn't find it weird. But of course she would find it weird. Medicine-cats normally didn't talk like that. He fought down the jumble of emotions and confusion and returned to a relatively emotionless state. "Well, anyways, we should keep going. Wouldn't want something to happen while the medicine cat isn't there, now would we?"

Mothpelt w/ Bramblepath [ 𝓓𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓱 𝓑𝓻𝓪𝓶𝓫𝓵𝓮] Mothpelt felt her face warm up a bit. Not many cats spoke to her like that. Granted with most cats she would more than likely feel uncomfortable with that statement, but with Bramblepath, it didn’t feel that way. Out of all the cats that have spoken to her, Bramblepath has been kind. He wasn’t pushy about her opening up about her past and even when he asked her, she didn’t feel like she would be judged or looked down at. She mentally shook her head. She shouldn’t be thinking like this, he’s a medicine cat. Medicine Cats couldn’t take mates, that was one of the many rules that they followed. “Yes, you are an important cat to the clan. We’d be vulnerable without you.” She spoke. She realized what she said. “Um... that sounded less weird in my head.”

"Most things do. Then I say said things and regret saying them ten seconds later," Bramblepath laughed. "That might just be because I have no social life though," he said. Despite his best attempts to bottle up whatever feelings he had, he was extremely happy that Mothpelt was seeming to open up to him. It took his best effort to keep a stupid grin from growing on his face, but despite his best efforts the corners of his mouth still curled up slightly. He tried to return to the state of emotionlessness that he had been in five seconds ago, but ultimately failed. To hide his embaressment at his lack of composure, he turned and started slowly walking towards the stream. "Really, though, while I love talking with you we do have to keep moving. The stream isn't that far away, and we should find the burdock near it."

Mothpelt w/ Bramblepath [ 𝓓𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓱 𝓑𝓻𝓪𝓶𝓫𝓵𝓮] Mothpelt nodded her head. “Yes, we can talk more later.” She replied following after the medicine cat. At least she wasn’t the only one trying to not smile. It relieved her a bit, though she was unsure why. All that she needed to be focusing on the current task, which was helping Bramblepath find herbs for the clan. She just had to focus on that and then she wouldn’t be thinking about Bramblepath and the confusing feelings that seemed to be circling around him, because that would be a fruitless venture, and oh no she was thinking about it, nope, no. She needed to change her line of thought, she picked up the pace so she was walking next to him, looking ahead with her bad eye towards Bramblepath. Maybe if she didn’t see him the thoughts would go away?

Bluelotus and Stygiansnow (open)
Bluelotus quietly sat near his brother. Mutetree and Crimsonfang were out hunting while Sandpelt had stayed behind with him and his brother. He watched Sandpelt leave to speak with another clanmate, his ears twitching at the surrounding noises. “You okay?” He heard his brother ask. “Yes, I am alright.” He replied. He looked around camp, observing like Mutetree had taught him. His brother doing the same.

Blackheart yawned as he stretched his long limbs out and shook his fur. Grey eyes scanned the desolate camp clearing before peering up at the open sky. A quiet sigh escaped his muzzle as he started to pad towards the entrance of camp to go on a small hunt, nodding a greeting to bluelotus and His brother. Ears twitched slightly as he gently made his way through the thick swaying grass.

Stygiansnow and Bluelotus w/ Blackheart [ AlphaWolves] “Good morning, Blackheart.” Stygiansnow greeted. His brother returned the nod. He wished Bluelotus spoke more but knew Why his brother chose not to speak all that much. Bluelotus was mistaken for a she cat more times than either brother would care to admit and according to his brother his voice didn’t help either. Bluelotus looked to the other tom, studying him as he left. “Should we follow him?” He asked Stygiansnow. The elder brother looked over before rising to his paws. “Might as well. Worst case he’ll tell us to leave, we should hunt anyway if we want to keep our skills sharp.” His brother replied. With that Bluelotus rose to his paws as well and the two followed after the older tom.

Blackheart slowed to a stop, tail curling high as he looked over his shoulder and tilted his head. He didn’t really expect the two tons to follow him but didn’t mind the company for now. Quietly he waited for them to catch up and twitched his whiskers, “Morning, how are you both?” He asked politely

Stygiansnow and Bluelotus w/ Blackheart [ AlphaWolves] “Alright, yourself?” Stygiansnow asked. He looked around the immediate area for movement, his brother doing the same. Though Bluelotus seemed to be looking for more than just prey, but predators as well, wether it was just elder toms or the predators that wished to eat them. It still killed him that his brother had gone through what he did. Perhaps repressing the memories was a kindness, it didn’t fully wipe his memory. He still had nightmares, still feared elder toms. And there was nothing he could do about it, not now anyway.

Blackheart glanced around once more as he took a small breath in to test the scents around. “I’m alright but it’s a little cold this morning” he shivered slightly as a cold breeze came through. His gaze shifted between the two as he studied them and narrowed his eyes in thought. “I don’t smell any predators so that’s a good sign some prey could be out looking for a meal like we are” he suggested and gazed out towards the small patch of trees.

Stygiansnow and Bluelotus w/ Blackheart [ AlphaWolves] Stygiansnow looked to where Blackheart was looking. He nodded his head, lightly tapping his brother with his tail to get his attention. Bluelotus jumped slightly looking at his brother before seeing what the other two were staring at. “Shall we hunt then?” Stygiansnow asked. Bluelotus already getting smelling the air for any prey.

“Let’s see if we can find some rabbits or mice there” Blackheart suggested as he started to head towards the small patch of marshy forest regardless of an answer. The Tom fell silent as they got closer and stopped to take in the scents around then. His paw steps softened as he quietly crouched and made his way through the soft mushy mud. Frogs and crickets could be heard through the marshy forest as life started to cone about for morning foraging, stealing a glance back at the other two he nodded towards the sound of scuffling on the waters surface. Muscles tensed as he stalked towards the waters edge and hesitantly peered through the murky water, watching fish slowly swim about below. Patience was a virtue when it came to fishing.

(Sorry for really slow response. I had a busy day yesterday.)
As Bramblepath kept walking, he racked his brain for more conversation topics. He thought that if he could successfully change the topic to something else entirely, maybe his confusing jumble of emotions would sort itself out. No topics presented themselves however, so he just continued to walk in silence. As he heard the stream up ahead, he sped up slightly. "We're almost there. Once we're at the edge of the water, you should see a big patch of boulders. Head straigh for them," he said, looking sideways at Mothpelt.

Stygiansnow and Bluelotus w/ Blackheart [ AlphaWolves] Fishing. One of his least favorite things, he had to use his paws given that he and his group’s tails weren’t as long as the others and he still needed to work on lessening the sound of the water splashing. Bluelotus was already by the water, watching the fish. Ready to strike. Bluelotus stared down into the water, he was still shaking off the nightmare from last night, hoping that this would keep him out of his thoughts. Since hunting required his full attention and anything less could cost him a meal or a clanmate. Something he didn’t want. Mothpelt w/ Bramblepath [ 𝓓𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓱 𝓑𝓻𝓪𝓶𝓫𝓵𝓮] Mothpelt nodded her head in understanding, trying to block him from her line of sight had done nothing to rid her of these feelings. She continued to walk to the water. “So, how did you know you wanted to be a Medicine Cat?” She asked. Maybe if she heard the reasoning the feelings would be quashed. She wondered if she should talk with Sparrowstar about this? It wasn’t something she was sure who to talk to about if she was being honest. Was this something you went to your leader about? Or did you ask fellow clanmates? The two got closer to the water, still in her own thoughts. (It’s all good, Bramble. Hey so should one of them fall into the water? I’m wondering if there should be more physical contact between them ya know?)

( rockydublin that sounds fun. Why not? ) Bramblepath felt relieved that he finally had been asked a question to which he could respond without needing to use his brain. "The day my mother died to greencough was the day that I decided to become a medicine cat. I wasn't even an apprentice then, but I never wanted another cat to feel the same pain I felt when I lost my mother. I have since learned that there are times where you cannot do anything to save a cat's life, but I will do everything in my power to save them," he said. He had long ago come to peace with his mother's death, and was coming to peace with the fact that he couldn't save everyone. As such, this was an easy topic which he could discuss. He still didn't bring it up very often though.

Mothpelt w/ Bramblepath [ 𝓓𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓱 𝓑𝓻𝓪𝓶𝓫𝓵𝓮] Mothpelt nodded her head, it made sense, had she been in the same position as him she probably would have done the same. So why did these feelings not go away? Why were they still here? She continued to rack her brain with questions, but they only lead to more questions. She was so wrapped in her thoughts she didn’t even notice how close she was to the water until she feel right in. Panic immediately fell over her for the time being she was no longer a member of SparrowClan, but a loner once more, something her mind did to her whenever she began to panic in dangerous situations like this. Since her injury she was usually weary when she was near a body of water, she scrambled to try and get out, trying not to make any sounds that could alert a cat of her presence. Hopefully if they heard the splashing they’d think nothing of it. (Is this alright?)

Blackheart glanced sideways at bluelotus for a moment before turning his attention back to the murky water. Cautiously the Tom started stepping forward, careful not to disturb the surface to much as he wait with one paw in the air ready to strike. Suddenly long claws hit the water hard as he duck his head under and grabbed ahold of something slimy. Instinct made him pull his head out of the water with a fish gripped firmly in his jaws. Water splashed off his pelt as he was quickly to hurry out of the bitterly cold liquid and stop the fish from squirming so much. Once he managed to secure his catch the lean Tom panted to catch his breath, glancing at the other two with his ears forward. “Careful for any turtles, mean little things” he rapped out and shook his pelt firmly to try and get rid of some of the water.

Stygiansnow and Bluelotus w/ Blackheart [ AlphaWolves] Stygiansnow nodded his head sitting by the water, Bluelotus sitting two tail lengths away. He stared at the water, patiently waiting to strike, he spotted movement, his paw and face diving into the water, whatever was in his mouth wriggle and squirmed, he heaved himself above the water, backing away from the water. He bit the fish to stop it from moving. It was a bit smaller than the catch Blackheart pulled in but both would feed the clan. He shook off the water that was still on him and waited for his brother to catch something. Bluelotus looked down at the water, waiting for a fish to move towards him. He heard his brother catch a fish and soon felt eyes on him. Whether they were genuinely there or not, he wouldn’t be able to tell, but it always made him anxious. And he was more likely to fail if he was anxious. He tried to remain calm as he kept staring into the water, waiting for a fish. He saw movement in the water, diving both his head and paws into the water. Something slimy touched his paws, he immediately pulled up and back. Unfortunately for him, he only pulled up muck and plant that now covered him. He quickly shook it off his pelt.

Blackheart Grimaced when he emerged with muck all over his muzzle and frowned. “Tough luck” he commented in a friendly manner best he could as the Tom stood up and scented around the area for more.Maybe they would have more luck looking outside the water, hopefully some frogs or a fat mouse would really help. The thought made his belly grumbled in remind of its emptiness as he heard chirping above. He crouched low and stared up at the birds swarming through the trees. He nodded towards a neighboring tree as he crawled towards it and started to haul himself the base of the trunk. With a quiet grunted he heaved himself up on a low thick branch, feeling it sway a little under his weight as he inched forward and hide behind some thick leaves. If he was lucky he would be able to swat one down out of the air to one of the waiting warriors below.
(I think I’m gonna add one more cat lol)

Stygiansnow and Bluelotus w/ Blackheart [ AlphaWolves] “Let’s see what else we can hunt, Blue.” Stygiansnow told his brother. He scented the air in search of a mouse, crouching down once he smelt something. He looked over to his brother who mimicked his action. The duo separated planning to chase the prey right to the other. Stygiansnow crouched keeping an eye on his brother who spotted a mouse. Bluelotus immediately pounced, chasing after the mouse who ran towards Stygiansnow without knowing it. He swatted it down, taking down the mouse with ease. “Great work, Blue.” He praised his brother. He smiled when his brother seemed to beam at his words. He preferred his brother’s smile to his frown, he’d seen enough of it when he was younger. He looked over to the tree he saw Blackheart climbed.

Blackheart flicked his gaze down from his hiding spot as he watched the two brothers hunt for a mouse and perked his ears impressed by their teamwork. He waited still as a statue for the right moment before he suddenly started to run across the branch and leaped into the air with his claws stretched out. He felt feathers under his paw before gravity pulled them both down with a thud, toes tingling from the impact. He was quick to slap his claws down on the stunned bird and hold it there while he caught his breath from the fall. “I think we got a pretty good amount, what do you guys think” he finally spoke up after getting his witts about him and slowly sitting back up. A blue jay laid at his paws while the fish from not long age was under a bush not far off from their current location.
