Sparrowclan ~ The Strong and Daring (Always Open)

_{You are walking through a dense, dark forest when you here the whispers of cats coming from just up ahead. You walk further until you find a large group of cats gathered in a clearing. "Hello," A speckled brown she-cat purrs, "I am Sparrowstar, leader of Sparrowclan. You seem to have found your way to our camp." As you watch, a hundred curious gazes lock on you. "The choice is yours: will you join us?"}

                                                      <sub>Long ago, far from Sparrowclan territory, there lived a group of loners. They thrived in their shared territory for many moons, living among each other in peace and harmony, until one fateful moon when their resources began to dwindle. It happened slowly at first—a dry season followed by a slight, unusual swelling of the rivers—but soon enough the cats were faced with a full-on flood. When the water cleared, the land was left cold, swampy, and preyless.

Though most of the group refused to leave their homes behind, a brave collection of loners knew that they could remain no longer on their ruined land. Thus, these cats bid their loved ones goodbye and, led by a wise tom named Eagle, began their search for a land to grant them the peace and prosperity they had once enjoyed.

Through the journey was long and several cats were lost to its hardships, the wanderers eventually stumbled upon a prosperous stretch of land full of meadows, trees, river, and—most importantly—plenty of prey to go around. The passing moons separated the once-united group into four distinct clans, but the bonds between them remained strong. Though Ravenclan, Robinclan, and Crowclan were eventually lost once again to their loner roots, Sparrowclan remained strong—and a new clan, nurtured by Sparrowclan, rose alongside it: Doveclan.

At the height of victory, tragedy struck; Doveclan was destroyed by a group of vicious foxes, and Sparrowclan suffered through a battle with a vicious group of rogues. The older warriors and apprentices are haunted to this day by the memories of the friends that they lost in the conflict. Still, hope will always win out over darkness, and the wounded clan has rebuilt and grown strong again, bolstered by the conviction never to face such devastating loss again despite the vicious group of rogues recoalescing on the edge of the territory.</sub>

<sub>Sparrowclan territory is a terrain of rolling hills covered in thin grass and laced with rivers. The moist ground lends itself to abundant plant growth, but common green-leaf floods stop anything in the numerous small valleys from growing too tall. The rivers trickling through the territory are calm and shallow for most of the year, easy to wade through and swim in. The camp itself is nestled on the top of a hill, hidden in a clearing surrounded by tall grass. The dens are woven from dried stalks of grass, and the leader's den rests under a bramble-covered boulder at one end of camp.

Not far from camp, on lower ground, is a small marshy pond where frogs and the occasional fish can be found. Part of a forest marks the clan's boundary, and rabbits as well as the occasional squirrel can be found there. The rivers are perfect for fishing and wading in greenleaf, though they occasionally freeze during particularly cold stretches of time.

A thunderpath lined with tall hedges on each side stretches along the northern edge of the territory. The eastern and southern borders dissolve into forest, where a hostile group of rogues dwells just beyond the outskirts of the territory.

On top of Sparrowclan's easternmost hill rests a lone weeping willow with long, silvery leaves. This is the Moonwillow, the place where Sparrowclan cats go to share tongues with Starclan. When the moonhigh light hits the leaves at just the right angle, the tree sparkles with refracted light, and Starclan walks in the dreams of the present cats.

Many types of prey can be found on Sparrowclan territory, including:

Frog ~ common
Vole ~ common
Rabbit ~ common
Mole ~ uncommon
Hawk ~ rare

If you don't tell me, you'll be deleted after roughly a month of inactivity. You can rejoin—but, if this happens frequently enough, you may not be accepted again.}

_{3. Try to be reasonably literate: I'm not asking for a novel, but it's polite to give other people something to respond to. There's no minimum post length here, and we have valued members of all levels, but please make an effort to write more than one line. Use your five senses, describe the surroundings...you can do it! Please roleplay in the third person (he/she/they/etc) and past tense to keep things consistent. Furthermore, please make an effort to use decent spelling and grammar, and use () [] or {} when not rping.}

_{4. Keep language appropriate: No excessive swearing, please! It's that simple. We want to make this page a safe place for all everyone.}

_{5. Keep everything PG: There can, of course, be romance and fighting, but it can't be too graphic. Use *skip* or switch to PM (in keeping with the broader forum rules!) if needed.}

_{6. No Mary-Sues/Gary-Stues: Everyone has flaws; it's no fun to roleplay opposite a perfect character. No one can take on a whole group of enemies and come out without a scratch, and no cat is so beautiful that everyone in the clan loves them. Give flawed characters a chance; they're actually really fun to work with.}

_{7. No God-modding or rping other people's characters: Give people a chance to reply, please. This also means that you cannot kill other people's characters without permission. Thank you!}

_{8. Include everyone: Try to roleplay with everyone; it's more fun that way. I also suggest that you don't make two of your characters mates, either, unless you have a reason that you really want to—it's more interesting to develop their relationships with other people's characters.}

_{9. Be kind: This is pretty self-exlanatory, but don't insult, flame, or cause discomfort to others in any way. You know what's considered kind—chances are you've been interacting with other human beings for your whole life! Furthermore, LGBTQ+ characters are accepted and welcome, so absolutely no slurs or insults in that regard (or in any, for that matter) will be tolerated.}

_{10. All big plot points must be accepted by me (Bramble): Please check with me before starting a significant battle or creating a prophecy; I almost always say yes. To prove that you read the rules, please put an emoticon (any one you want!) in the "other" section of your joining form. Go ahead and plan hunting patrols, romances, border skirmishes, and such as frequently as you'd like—just let me know if you have any really big ideas, and I'll do my best to help facilitate them in a way that works for the whole clan.}

Her pelt is darkest brown along her spine and fades to a light golden-brown near her chest and legs. She has a patch of white on her chest, four white paws, and deep green eyes. Sparrowstar is a kind she-cat who always puts her clan first. She is fiercely loyal to her clan and treats every member like her kin—this leads her to be protective and compassionate towards them, regardless of their age. She is graceful in the practiced way of one who has spent countless moons honing her skills and has learned to move with purpose; her words are equally smooth, as she speaks slowly and rarely shares her opinion without first thinking her words through. Though this calculated nature benefits her as a leader, it can also take the form of hesitancy; she tends to wait as long as possible before engaging her clan in a battle to afford herself time to weigh her options. <sub>| Bramblepath | 26 moons | Bramblepath’s fur is short, and mostly black, with his paws and upper tail being white. He has green eyes, and a peculiar grey stripe over his left eye. Generally speaking, Bramblepath is a patient and gentle cat, but when his patience runs out he isn’t afraid to talk back to anyone (even if said anyone is Sparrowstar herself). He has no patience for his father however, and frequently scolds him in a very overprotective nature. Bramblepath also has a very limited idea of personal space, and isn’t afraid to get closer than most other cats would deem acceptable (although this may come from his job or his complete and utter lack of a social life). His mother’s death to green-cough when he was barely 2 moons old is what motivated him to be a medicine cat, and he spent much of his time in the medicine cat's den in his younger days. Due to this, he doesn’t really have many friends within the clan, and has developed an abnormally good ability to sniff out herbs. | Bramble |

In memory of our dear friend Cloud, I wanted to keep her characters here. Her loyalty and friendship have shaped Sparrowclan profoundly, and we miss her so much.

| Leafpelt | 28 moons | Leafpelt has a gray-blue long haired pelt and bright green eyes, large ears, and a long tail. She is impatient, short-tempered, and fiery, but has a soft spot for elders and often visits them. Despite her temper she is fiercely loyal, a good hunter and fighter, and has little patience if you can't keep up. | Cloud |

| Blizzardsky | 20 moons | Blizzardsky is a pure white she-cat with midnight blue eyes. Blizzardsky is quiet and calm, fiercely loyal, and very loving and sweet. She hates to see cats injured, and hates hurting other cats and some animals, so she hesitates to attack. She insists on staying a warrior so that she can become a queen and have her own kits, but despairs that she will never find love so she can have kits. | Cloud |


| Lilacpaw | 9 moons | An already sleek and beautiful light gray she-cat who appears to have a lilac tint to her coat when in sunlight. Her eyes are gray, but like her coat, seem to change color at different times, except her eyes can appear as anything from yellow to brown. She is graceful and lithe. Lilacpaw is a major show-off. She is aware that she is very pretty and likes to flaunt it. She is good at hunting birds and mice, as she can creep lightly on the ground, but is very bad catching anything else. She has never even attempted to catch a fish, as she claims the muddy water would ruin her beautiful paws. She is an average fighter, not unusually strong but not too weak. She hates the idea of fighting, as she is very careful about her looks. However, she never backs down from a challenge and can never stand it when cats make fun of others. | Cloud |

| Cloudpaw | 7 moons | Pale gray tabby she-cat with very thick, long fur, and bright green eyes. She's on the smaller size, but she makes up for it with her strength. Cloudpaw is easily irritated but always helpful. She is a bit clumsy, but makes up for it with her ability to stretch her voice and imitate all types of voices. She loves a good story, and she is silly and fun. She doesn't get along well with kits and is a bit of an outsider among the apprentices. Her father was most likely a loner or a kittypet, and her mother was a loner who heard about the clans. Wanting a better life for her and her single kit, she went to find the clan, but died of starvation before they arrived. Cloudpaw went on without her mother and found her new home. | Cloud |

| Twist | 52 moons | Dark maroon-brown tom with a distinctive tail twisted with white—hence the name Twist. He is very large—with long legs and a thick tail—and powerful, with the strength of two warriors. Twist has no respect for the clans. He is a ruthless killer and prey-stealer but refuses to harm kits, as he watched his first son die when a rogue captured and killed him. He never backs down from a challenge, and his main goal in life is to keep his kit safe and try to make up for accidentally kiling the kit's mother, Moon. He particularly hates any other rouge cats, believing that all rouges are dangerous and should be avoided. He is almost always watching his kit from afar, never interfering in her life, but always ready to hurt or even kill anything that threatens his child. | Cloud |
