(Sure!)
Motheye yawned. She had spent many moons in this den with expectant mothers, and with her aching bones, the elders den seemed to call her name louder everyday. She would be happy to retire once her kits were old enough. She looked around and sniffed the kit, nearly to big for the nursery, and nosed him. "Suttonkit, its time to get up. Wheres your bother?" "The little kit mewed in frustration. "Mom! Its so early... The warriors arent even up yet.." "Suttonkit, enough. Mockingstar comes home from the moonstone today, and if the camp looks like an unkept nest, she'll have a fit! Now go." She shoved the kitten out and sniffed the air for her brother. "Have any of you seen Brindlekit?" Motheye asked the two other queens. Both shook their head, and motheye began to panic. Bolting out of the nursery with her fur puffed out, she yowled. "BRINDLEKIT IS MISSING!!" She streaked over to where the rogues were, ready to claw their ears off.

Creekwhisker hurriedly got to her paws - as quickly as she could at any rate. She was still very pregnant and her head moved this way and that, but she still moved after Motheye at a fair clip to try and catch up to the other queen. She wasn't sure what was happening, but if push came to shove, she'd need backup. Rattlesnake got to his feet as soon as he'd heard the queen running toward him and his mate. His pelt bristled almost at once, even as Dream hurried to his own paws and laid a tail over the tabby's back in an effort to comfort him. "Hold up, hold up!" the one eyed tom cried, weaving away from Motheye. "What's all this about?"

"My kit is missing! Brindlekit is no where to be found!" She hissed, her fur standing on end. She was ready to tear the pelt off of the cat who took her. She heard the labored breathing of Creekwhisker, ready at her flank for back up. She turned her head and looked the large queen up and down. She'd had for her to get worked up and go into labor.
just as things began to escalate, their leader and the medicine cat slowly walked through the camps entrance. Dappleshine smelt the panic in the camp, causing her fur to bristle. "Whats going on?" She asked hurridly, galloping to where the little group of cats were. "Are you hurt?" She asked, sniffing Creekwhisker up and down.

"I'm fine, I'm fine," Creekwhisker assured, waving her tail to try and brush off the attention. It wouldn't help Motheye. Brindlekit was still missing. "Motheye's kit is missing," Creekwhisker added, glancing at Rattlesnake. The tabby tom was still bristling. Mockingstar hurriedly padded forward, fur bristling to match. "What's happened?" There was a sharp look over Dream and then Rattlesnake. "Where's Brindlekit?" "This has nothing to do with us," Rattlesnake said carefully, trying to meet Motheye's gaze. "But we don't have an interest in seeing any kits harmed ... maybe we can help?"

Motheye growled, low and deep. "If you think I want an outsiders help, I must have cobwebs for a brain!" She spat. She slowly stalked to the outsiders, ready to pounce.
Dappleshine watched, eyes wide. "Mockingstar. This is just the beginning..." She whispered, her eyes distant. She took a slow step forward, placing herself between the angry queen and the two rogues. "Did you see anything?" She asked sternly. There was no telling where the young kit had ended up, and by a long shot, maybe he ended up going on an unsurpervised adventure alone.
(So i was thinking, maybe one of the rogues friends followed them and snuck the kitten out, starting a little fight with the rogues and the clan?)

(Oh ho! I'm impressed you remembered them! That's very possible! There's certainly a point in time where Rattlesnake's rogues rebel against him.)
Rattlesnake bristled a bit as the medicine cat directed her attention at him. He wasn't sure what she was capable of, but she seemed to demand respect. He wasn't scared, but she was wary about her trust. She might give it or she might not and that could very well affect what happened within the clan. "As I told you," he said, trying not to be so stiff and also to be polite, "I'm not sure ... but I can find out. If you give me a little trust." He glanced at the queen and amended, "Or at least the benefit of the doubt. If I had taken any kits, than they would still be here." He glanced at Dream, then back at Dappleshine. Something was up. He thought he could advocate for this freedom at least.

motheye narrowed her eyes. He did have a point, he had not left the clan and for her kit to suddenly go missing from right under her nose is very strange. "So what do you want us to do." She said, her eyes level with the tom.
The medicine cats tail twitched in thought. "Hes right..." she mewed quietly. "We need to check for ascent trail. Anything outside of camp." She mewed, turning to her leader.

Mockingstar nodded. Scent trails were a good idea, but that meant that the rogues would have to leave camp. The idea chaffed against Mockingstar's ideals, but after a second the leader nodded. Rattlesnake's ears angled forward and he brightened just a little, standing straight. "That isn't exactly the benefit of the doubt," he said eveningly. "Would you allow me to leave camp. On my own. I could bring back the kits then, I am sure." Almost at once, Mockingstar bristled. "Absolutely not." But there was room for the other cats to give input ...

The cats around the rogue bristled. 'You will not be leaving on your own." Motheye hissed. "If anything, I should go with you. I know the scent of my own kit better than anyone else in this camp." She flicked her tail in aggravation. The medicine cat nodded with the queen. "I agree. I will also go incase the kit is harmed or injured in anyway, that way help is already there. We dont need more lives compromised." She said evenly, not waiting for her leaders input on Motheyes leaving her other kit.

This was less than ideal. Rattlesnake's eyes narrowed, but he made no further proposition. He could tell just from the look in Mockingstar's eyes that there was no helping it. He just nodded stiffly. "Dream will stay here," he said. Dream hesitated, looking around. Clearly he didn't think that was such a good idea, but he also made no verbal protest. He just rested his tail on Rattlesnake's flank very briefly. Rattlesnake angled his ears toward the entrance of camp, already stepping in that direction. Mockingstar grudgingly let him pass. Rattlesnake just looked back at the medicine cat. "Lead me to your border," he said.

"The medicing cat frowned at being ordered from an outsider. This situation was less than ideal. She shighed and shoved her way out of the entrance to the camp, sniffing the air as she led the small patrol through the woods to the border of the camp territory. If this rogue bolted, shw ouldnt run after him. It was not her place to fight for a rogue when Moths kit was missing. "Dont try anything stupid." She snarled, glancing back at the tom.

"I wouldn't dare," said Rattlesnake. "I don't do stupid things." This was at least the conviction which he held. There was a lot to be said for what he actually considered stupid as compared with what the medicine cat thought was stupid. He scented the air as well, then stepped over the border. He did so slowly, so that anyone who was coming with could follow him as well. But the thing was, he didn't really need to scent the air. He knew where the rogue group would be. "Over the next rise," he said softly to the cat beside him, his chin rising a bit. "Can you smell them?" Not necessarily the kits. But certainly the faint smell of other cats.

Motheye and Dappleshine stopped, noses high. All they could smell was wet dirt. Looking cautiosly at the one leading them, Dapples ears flattened. "Is this a trap." She growled, ready to book it back to camp.

"Would I have told you about them before we got over the rise if it was?" asked Rattlesnake with a sigh, his tail twitching. "I did so you could prepare. There's a group of rogues. They don't always like doing what they're told." There was a growl in his voice, but he personally didn't seem that worried. "Were you interested in coming or not?"

Motheye growled, this time not at Rattlesnake. This rogue was trying to help her find her kit. "What do you think they want with my kit?" She asked, her claws sliding out.
Dappleshine lowered herself to the ground. They were quite a run from their camp, and seeing that they were going to be dealing with rogues, she would have to fight if she needed too. It had been moons since she used her claws for something other than gathering herbs, but to protect a kit, she would do anything. "Whats the next move?" She asked quietly.

"The next move is to see how this goes," said Rattlesnake. "It's to talk peacefully. There are a lot of rogues. They aren't just going to let you attack them and let you leave." Even he called them rogues. He didn't look at the two clan cats though. "Understand that I don't know why they would take your kits." Other than perhaps to annoy him. "They listen to me and Dream as a team, you understand. The fact that your leader wasn't very keen on both of us coming makes things slightly difficult. How we deal with this is talking." And he started heading over the hill.

Motheye flattened her ears at the outsiders words. He sounded calm, but something in his voice made him sound uneasy. With a huff, she followed on. He was right, fighting would end badly for all of them, and seeing that it was just her and the clans med cat, she would be very unevenly matched. She was sure the rogue wouldnt fight his own cats for the sake of a kitten that wasnt even his.
Dappleshine stayed quiet. She was more of a talker than a fighter, so turning something into a fight was her last approach to things. Nodding her head, she pressed her side to queen, walking forward with large eyes.

Clearly Rattlesnake didn't expect a fight - at least that was the hope. There was the expectation that they didn't need to worry about such things because he was bringing along two cats who didn't fight as a rule - at least not currently. But he wasn't exactly someone which they could trust. Beyond the rise was a dip and in the dip was the vague signs that cats - more than one had been there. Rattlesnake walked to the center of the dip, then sat down, wrapping his long tail around his paws. He waited a second for the MoonClan cats to catch up with him. Then he raised his chin and watched the edge of the dip. It only took a couple seconds for three silhouettes to appear at the edge. Rattlesnake's ears angled backward, but not to much. "Try not to pick any fights," he warned as the three cats slowly padded down to where they were. "This isn't one we'd win."

Motheyes breath caught in her throat. The smell of cats hit her palate like a wall of rain. She kept her ears perked up rather than pinned, trying not to come off as hostile. Her eyes were wide, and her fur was puffed out in fear. She was in no shape to fight seeing her kitting was only a few nights ago, so trying to start one she wouldnt win would be a huge mistake. She sat behind Rattlesnake, her fur touching his.
Dappleshine let a low hiss, barely audible as the silhouettes of cats appeared on the lip of the hill.

"What have we here?" asked a piebald white-and-brown tom with a short tail and white paws. He walked almost right up to Rattlesnake, head tilting just a little bit back. Rattlesnake was taller than he was. A black cat followed after, their eyes half lidded, like they weren't completely sure if they wanted to be there. "Permafrost," Rattlesnake greeted. His voice was polite enough. "It's possible that a couple of kits may have recently come into your possession. Is that correct?" Permafrost slowly moved around Motheye and Dappleshine, frowning at them. "Who are these cats? I find that to be a more important question." "Dappleshine and Motheye," Rattlesnake answered. Permafrost looked at Motheye, sniffing in her direction, then looked bored. "Oh." He turned away. "Go back to whatever you were doing then. I'm not interested in talking."

Motheye hissed. "My kits safety is more of a matter than you think." She mewed, her fur rising. The instict to claw the cats pelt off grew strong, yet she knew she mustnt fight. "Please." She whispered, lowering her head.
Dappleshine stood and stretched. "You have our kit. For what reason?" She asked, coming eye to eye with Permafrost.

Permafrost paused, tail flicking left, then right. The little bob of fur hardly expressed the same range of emotions as a full tail, but Rattlesnake knew well enough to recognize slight irritation. It took him a second to look back in Dappleshine's direction. When he did, he tilted his chin up a bit. "You have your clan to support. We have ours. Ask the cat beside you have many kittens he's taken into our group? I'm merely following in the footsteps of our glorious leader during his absence." There was a hint of sardonicism in Permafrost's voice and a sharp glance. But his voice became almost a purr. "How interesting that you're trusting him to get them back for you when it's him who taught me everything I know." Rattlesnake bristled. Permafrost was doing what he loved. Gaining attention. And in this case, it was by throwing Rattlesnake to the foxes. By telling the truth. Oh, it was the truth alright. Of a kind ... "So we have your kits because we need your kits. Your Clan does not," Permafrost said dismissively.

Motheye growled. They were trying to turn them on Rattlesnake. "I jsut want to know if my kit is safe." She mewed through a clenched jaw. "You might think you need him, but I need him, his mother needs him." She mewed, her heart breaking into pieces. What were they thinking? Coming to look for her kit with no means of protection, there was no way they would get the kti back without fighting for him. How could she have been so stupid as to follow Rattlesnake all the way here.

Rattlesnake bristled as well, but was surprised to see that it was the other cat who seemed to step forward. Their black pelt and mismatched eyes were very familiar. As they approached they bristled up and Rattlesnake prepared himself for more accusations. But instead they looked right at Motheye and said, "You should leave. Now." But there was something else. One eye closed. A wink. Then the cat had turned on their heels, tails held high. Rattlesnake wasn't sure what to make of it, but his tail rested on Motheye's back. "Are you willing to trust me one last time," he murmured.

Dappleshine spat. It was her clans kit. These outsiders had no right to steal from them. If it had been prey that they wanted, they may have been able to catch some sort of deal with them, but Motheyes kit? Another small cat to raise as an outisder, to train in the ways of darkness? She couldnt help the burning feeling in her chest as the others spoke.
Motheye looked flatly at Rattlesnake. "Really?" She hissed wuietly. Was he going to run off? Leave these two to fight to the death for her life of her kit? What was the use. They should just leave and come back with a bigger group of strong cats to fight. Dismayed, she shook her head. "Fine." She muttered.

That wasn't the point - whatever point the distraught mother had come to - but Rattlesnake would take it. It seemed convincing anyway. His attention darted to Permafrost, but he glared. Then he turned away, beginning to walk in the other direction. Then he waited. Walked and waited until he was sure they were out of earshot. "My friend will get the kit," he murmured to Motheye and Dappleshine. "The black cat. They'll make sure the kit is safe." It was the only reassurance he could offer. That was what the look had had to have meant. Right?
