Fatid snorted, sending a puff of smelly gas right into her face. Turning away, he grunted "Humans are almost nonexistent in this area. You will not do too well walking around alone. Do you not have a companion or something?" Some humans were smart enough to travel places with a monster helping them. He saw a woman and a Firesuar just last week. "Where are you even trying to go? A city? Village?"

Calmly nodded, “the Highwind City. I’ve been running very low on supplies ever since my travels.” Cally had gone through her training in her home town, which was a long ways away from where she was now. “My weapons were lost in the last run in with monster, and I have no more food so I’m kind of desperate. You wouldn’t want to eat me, I’m not exactly the tastiest at the moment.” She said. She knew what his intentions were. “I believe I’ve gotten turned around- why do you even care?” She assumed he didn’t though.

Fatid just stared at her. "I've eaten literal shit before. I'm sure a clean human is much better." He then tilted his large head, murky fluid dripping from a horn. "I really don't care. You're a flea, and I have plenty of those, but you are also weak. I pity weak things. When I'm not eating them." He then burped again, scratching his behind. "I will go with you to Highwind."

Cally looked surprised, “wait really?” She then backed up, aiming her gun at him again in some form of self defense. She looked at him suspiciously, “you’re just saying that so you can catch me off guard!” She narrowed her eyes, “Aren’t you?”

Fatid snorted. "If I wanted to kill you, I would have done so already." He looked around. "If you don't want any aid, then fine. I'll just go back to my nap." He couldn't care less about her, so he wasn't going to insist. "So ready with your stupid weapon. Try joining a tournament with that."

Cally sighed, “I guess you’re right..” she then lowered her gun and put it back in its holster, “I really need better weapons..” she said softly. She then looked up, “lead the way.”

Fatid grunted. "You do if you want to hunt top tier monsters. Uriel forbid you try using a gun on a Warmaster." She'd be a stain on the ground. Beginning to lead the way, he huffed and questioned "So, you're a new hunter then? What have you killed? Or captured?"

“Not much. I’m fresh out of training. You probably would have been my first had I been prepared with the necessary tools, but I’m glad we didn’t try to kill each other. Now I have extra muscle if some monster tries to come and eat me.” She said while putting up a fist. Cally was just out of her teens, so she was still pretty young.

Fatid snorted. "That's if I decide to help you. You're a grown female. Use your gun." His grunting laughter echoed a little as he walked, lumbering steps. "None of you humans can ever come close to monsters like Gregorz and Korg. Have you been to the Beastiarium?" There was a countless collection of both dead and living things there, most of which brought in by the two hunters.

Cally scoffed up at Fatid. She then listened to him with interest, shaking her head a little, “no. What is it?” She asked curiously.

Fatid grumbled. Ignorant humans. "The Beastiatium is like a museum zoo thing. Full of tons of monsters and trophies. All put in there by real hunters. Who don't need guns." He snorted. "It is a ways east of Crystalline, if you ever find the time to go."

“Huh. I will.. have to check it out again.” She said, her voice sounding like she was in thought. She then looked up at Fatid, “so, where do you come from? Were you born in this forest?” She asked curiously.

Fatid shook his head. "No, I was born in a forest far north, but that orange rash Dr. Hazard polluted everything within a miles' radius with all his sludge and toxins." He grumbled. "I used to be a Sheluke." A lowly Uncommon class turned accidentally into a Legend tier. "But eating too much tainted vegetation and tainted water caught up with me eventually."

“Oh. Well I’m sorry to hear that. But at least there’s a silver lining. At least you’re powerful now.” Cally said, trying to remain optimistic.

Fatid shrugged his huge shoulders. "I just wish I cared enough to go destroy that stupid monster's lab, but that wouldn't do much." Yawning, the worms on his back quivered as he asked "So, have you traveled much? Or did you stay home most of your life?"

“I stayed home. That’s where my training was anyways, so I had no need to go anywhere. But now I want to broaden my horizons, leave the nest and all. Plus I heard there were a lot of well paying jobs around here.” Cally explained. She then sighed, “but I’m not sure monster hunting is really for me..”

Fatid was silent for a moment. "Maybe just travel. Be a merchant or something. Or a miner. Monsters trade a lot for gems and gold if you fond your own stash. Or you can just travel as a hireling. I'd recommend tournaments, but humans haven't participated in tournaments for quite some time." Mostly cause their numbers were shot to shit generations ago.

“Yeah. I suppose there a few opportunities for me other than being a hunter... but I don’t know if I can’t do tournaments. I’d be wiped across the floor for sure.” Cally said, offering a small laugh.

Fatid nodded. "Yes you would." Scratching his side, he added "It's your choice though." He snorted. "Or you could just lay low. Many humans are farmers or small shopkeepers. Something on the downlow but still making enough money. Do you have kids?" Humans still managed to find ways to repopulate these days. Next thing you knew there'd be hybrids running around.

“No. I’m only twenty three so I haven’t gotten much time to really get around to anything like that. I’ve been so focused on my training these past years. Now I’m just waiting for some individual to show me a good time.” Cally said simply, looking at the ground ahead of her.

Fatid huffed. "You humans are weird, doing that just for fun. With whoever can "show you a good time." Don't do it if not to have babies." Part of him was a little jealous though. He was ugly, smelly and grumpy as heck and wouldn't ever even have fun with such things either way. "Maybe you will find a human in Highwind to travel with. Safety in numbers or whatever.:

Cally giggled a little, “some humans just don’t want the commitment. I want kids when I grow up through. That’s for sure.” She said with a small smile at the thought, “but I’m still so new to the game. I’ve never even had a boyfriend.” She admitted.

Fatid grumbled. "Make sure your mate is strong. Humans need to be strong or have a strong mate." He snorted. "Though I don't think any monsters will care who you mate with, as long as it isn't one of them." Though plenty of them were close to human, like Sherezar or Elvira, it was frowned upon by many for humans and monsters to be anything other than friends. "Just try to like long enough to have that boyfriend I guess. Or girlfriend, whatever you're into. I don't know, or care."

Cally scoffed, “are you saying I’m not strong? Im strong! Feel my power!” She said before punching Fatid, knowing it wouldn’t hurt. She then put her hands up, “wait don’t punch me back please.”

Fatid didn't even budge. He just stared at her. "I could kill you just by smacking you." Looking ahead, they eventually reached the city. It was busy and bustling, but there weren't any humans so far. "So, where to first? What are you looking for?"

Cally frowned, “so like I said, please don’t.” She then looked ahead, gazing around the city curiously as they entered it. She then looked to Fatid and said, “well.. food, weapons, soap, basically the necessities. If you help me I can also get you some things.” She offered.

Fatid grumbled. "I guess I could help you... I know a good place for food to pack. And the smith is near too." He began to lead the way. He then watched as a few hatchlings, a Firesaur and a Treezard, both waddled up to the pair and asked "What kinda monster is that?" Fatid grumbled "A Sheluke." The two kids snorted like it was the funniest joke ever.

Cally sighed and smiled at little to Fatid. She then looked to the kids, “it’s true. Haven’t you heard the stories?” She asked while looking to them. She then sighed, “I guess not... but you should respect him. He’s a very powerful monster. But, he’s also very kind. He just won’t admit it.” she said with a small giggle. She then looked to Fatid, “come on.”

The kids hopped off, giggling about how Fatid smelled. The large monster grumbled, saying "I'm not nice..." He walked with Cally to the market first, cheaper things there than in a store. "Nice, fresh things. Not anything insane like those Crystalline snobs have." He tried caviar once. Gross.

Cally giggled, “Mhm. If you weren’t nice you wouldn’t be escorting me around. You would have eaten me when you had the chance.” She then smiled and went to look around, “choose something you like. I’ve got money.”
