“Of course not. The only things I’m worried about right now are keeping Nim happy, the war, and Olgrin escaping. And of course making sure Uma is alright too but she can handle herself.” Dakota said.
Uma scoffed, “what a gentleman.” She said sarcastically, raising an eyebrow to Dakota.

Alma smiled in amusement as Uma spoke, saying "Yes, I'm sure you all can handle yourselves. Still, it never hurts to be careful of course." Nim nodded in agreement, saying "We will be, I'm sure. We just have to keep on our toes."

“But that’s how it’s always been. Even before this.” Dakota said simply, “not that I wasn’t out of the ordinary or anything. Other than the fact that I knew the guides..” he said, looking nervous. Roman shook his head with a knowing look, but didn’t say anything.

Alma looked to Dakots curiously, and Nim just smiled slightly in amusement. Eventually Dakota would have to actually say something, but it was bordering on obvious at that point.

Nim watched then go, sniffing as he said "I bet they're disappointed they don't have any new gossip yet." Especially with Guides there, though he doubted the talk of him and Dakota would die out anytime soon.

Roman looked to her, “I’m married.” He said.

Nim tilted his head. "Humans deserve more credit than they are given. You shouldn't always go for the ones with the most power or the best looks." As stated though, it was her choice in the end.

Uma raised an eyebrow, “I’d prefer those in power because those are the ones who know how to handle things. And how to protect themselves. Most of the time. You two can’t talk since all you’ve done is shagged each other. We’ll lately. There was a time when Dakota had fun.” She looked as Dakota smiled guiltily. She remained quiet for a moment before saying, “if you can find me someone and prove me wrong than I will believe that statement.”

Nim tilted his head. "I have met poor, struggling peasants who have more heart than some kings and queens. You don't need a crown to be worthy. And just because they aren't as able-bodied as a soldier does not mean they should be brushed under the rug." He hummed at that last part. "If you insist we find you someone, fine, though I would assume you would be able to do so on your own."

Nim shrugged. "To be fair, I doubt you wouldn't like it if someone was trying to seal you away forever." No Guide could ever kill another, but they could "incapacitate" them. Like a temporary death, which probably didn't feel good either and would have happened to Uma.

Nim shrugged. "Well, regardless of whether you had anything or not, you participated in what will likely be permanent imprisonment and incapacitation. I think that was of more importance to him than something like feelings, which is what he struggled with more than any one of us." Not that that justified nearly breaking Uma's neck though.

Uma grumbled a little saying, “regardless of what he did. It made my feelings go away. Though I don’t know what will happen if he comes back..” it would be a battle of feelings for sure.
