𝓗𝓸𝓷𝓮𝔂 𝓑𝓮𝓮, Leo, Hawkeyes258, Sparky, ƤαƖƖαѕ ✧.) (Hey guys! Sparky, Pallas, and I have decided to continue on with the RP, and you guys are welcome, and honestly, we hope that you guys will continue on with us! We understand life is hectic right now, so instead of just glossing over some fun stuff, we’re skipping ahead about a week into the actual journey and starting there. If/when you guys come back, we’ll totally go back and fill in missing holes if you guys would like. We’re rebooting RP a day after the oneshot I posted for the RP on 32! So once again if you guys come back. Please, if you’re still interested, just hope back in with us!)

It must have been early in the morning, dreams of a heist and a castle filled her head, though her eyes snapped open at the slightest of noises, a far off hoot of an owl.
Of course, she had to always be as alert as could be. Simple noises and disturbances begged for her reaction. One peak out her tent was all that was needed to confirm that while it was still dreary morning, not sun in sight, the dawn would come, perhaps inna few hours.
She contemplated sleeping once more, a small groan escaping her. Believe it or not, but she loved to stay up late, and sleep in late too. It was easier to strike at night after all. But her group didn’t run on such a schedule. If Zahavi wasn’t awake yet, she was sure he would be soon, demanding they continue on the move.
Though, in all fairness, her bed looked much too comfortable. Nobles didn’t wear common clothes, though, she did have an excuse to wear them now. Her outfit consisted of her leggings, her boots, and a shirt that trailed longer than most shirts did, tied by a waist belt, and flaring out almost akin to how a skirt would. It wasn’t exactly her favorite thing, but they all had to pack light, and many merchants(not that she bought the clothes) didn’t carry correct clothing in her size, much less for girls. But she refused to wear the same dirty clothes for a surplus of days, and until she knew she had a clean water source, she wasn’t about to take them out to that murky lake.
She groaned slightly, pulling herself back to her bed, attempting to sleep, and miserably failing. She was just curious about the action she of those around her, paranoid, not at all at peace anylonger. Her gloves were off, and that was dangerous. Maybe she never killed anyone, but she could easily do so, and she had hurt many. So she pulled the black wristlength gloves back on, making sure her dagger was good, hidden under the overly long frills of the almost dresslike shirt, and crossing her arms as she commonly did. She doubted anyone would be up at such an hour in their own accord, so she took the time to make sure the armlet was in place, though she contemplated taking it off all together, it seemed so stupid to keep it on. She didn’t even really understand it either, and the frustration made her hate, but love this little armlet.
So she simply huffed, pushing through her tent door in a quiet manner, and went to find a nice tree to climb up. One to overlook camp, and the lake, and take a look into the mountains, mountains that they would possibly be journeying too soon. Once she was up, she just watche, with bleary, tired eyes.

(Honey!
We have talked about the possibility of doing a timeskip, which means that everyone would have been recruited somehow. But since your back, we could scrap that and do the recruitment stuff.
Sparks is right, we haven’t done much, just what he mentioned.
I mean, it’s up to everyone else, I just saw that post so I already posted the timeskip, but I’m good with anything!)

Nemean’s Curse.
Two words had never haunted Zahavi more than those did. Nightmares plagued his sleep, of his ill parents suffering back home, alone and in pain. I should be there, comforting them. They need their son by their side, don’t they? Yet he couldn’t have stayed, because while they might have needed him, he needed them twice as much. Not only due to how strongly he loved them, but he wasn’t ready to rule an entire kingdom on his own. Too inexperienced to do it without their wisdom, without their love, to support him. He didn’t know if such a ragtag team could save their lives. Perhaps the entire journey would be for nothing. Even so, he knew that it was worth a try. Anything to save his mother and father from such an awful fate.
The amount of pressure that weighed on his shoulders, heavy as an anvil, prevented him from sleeping. Most of the night, he tossed and turned, until he could bear it no longer. Dim morning light filtered through the edges of his tent and he rose to dress for the day. Not in the well crafted clothes that his parents paid the city tailor to make for him, but in peasant’s garb—well, perhaps that was a bit rude to think. The clothes were soft and fit him well enough, clean without any holes or tears, so he couldn’t be too judgmental. Besides, the trousers were made of a flexible material that would allow him to move freely and the shirt wouldn’t catch on bushes or stray branches. Plain colors of brown and white, but they served their purpose. If nothing else, they would help him blend in.
Nothing could be done to hide the trademark color of his hair, he supposed. With his shoes pulled on, he headed down to the bank of the water, and sat watching the murky waves past by. It didn’t seem like anyone else was awake and though he wanted to demand they all get up, that would have been a little unrealistic. He was up far too early, after all. The sun wasn’t even fully risen.
His entire body felt restless. Every muscle twitched. He tapped one foot on the ground, drummed his fingers against his leg. There was no distracting his mind from the task at hand, though, despite how tired he was. His head was almost fuzzy with exhaustion.

After Leon entered her and Zelos' tent, Zacharias couldn't manage to contain a bout of confusion. His face contorted awkwardly as he processed the situation that had been brought upon him. Partly by himself, and partly by the witch who had just stranded him in the presence of strangers. Well, okay, stranded might be a harsh word, seeing as she was simply going to sleep. And besides, everyone throughout the rest of the camp seemed to be doing the same.
The prince had accommodated everyone with tents, but Zacharias politely refused for the night. He used a blanket and situated himself near the lake, not minding the lack of warmth. There were a few that had settled by the fire, but that was the last place Zach wanted to be. No, this would do fine. He had the stars above, soft grass to unfurl the blanket onto, and - most importantly - a sense of security.
He had become Leon's friend.
The thought scared him. Terrified him. No sooner did one become his friend than something hurt them. Lines connected between the stars, outlining images which had been branded into his mind over the years. Memories.
Memories that he wanted so desperately to forget.
But it was too late, because already Zach had been taken back... not to the streets, or the Queste house, but to the orphanage. Zacharias had been eight years old, and he thought that he could make a friend there, too. It wasn't long after that the place burned to the ground. This time, it was not seen as an accident, and the kingdom began looking for the arsonist. Those who knew the real truth about the flames, however, were dead, and no one ever quite got over why someone would be so cruel as to set fire to such a facility.
Sleep did not come easily.
- - -
A rustle awoke Zacharias early in the morning. His eyes flitted open quickly, and he peered over to the campsite, catching the sight of a figure walking past the fire. By the shape of their silhouette, Zach could tell it was the prince.
What was he doing up so early?
The lake, whose waters lapped up softly near his feet, was dark. No sunlight had extended upon the eastern horizon. It took a moment for Zach's eyes to adjust, but once they had done so watched as Zahavi neared the lake and sat down. He must've been only a few yards to Zach's left.
Zach grumbled slightly internally, knowing what was right to do in that moment. Or maybe he didn't, and had severely misjudged normal social interaction.
"What's on your mind?" He asked, hoping not to startle Zahavi, who probably thought he was asleep - or simply didn't know he had been there at all. After his words though, Zach found himself wincing slightly. Of course the boy's parents would be on his mind, how could Zach be so stupid? Now he would only be reminded of pain.
Well, shit.

Eldred’s illness was starting to progress, but only slowly. The cough was getting worse, and he was developing chest pain. He was even starting to cough up blood a little. But so far he had been successful at hiding his symptoms from the rest of the group, but he had to say that travelling was taking its toll.
He didn’t really want to be here doing this, but he knew he was needed. And besides, he had a duty to Zahavi and to his parents. Granted, babysitting and going on miscellaneous adventures was not part of his job description but the king and queen weren’t exactly in a position for him to be able to negotiate this issue with them. And besides, he had noting better to do back at the palace than wait for his illness to kill him.
Still, he’d been awake for a while, just thinking. And when he came out of his tent for some fresh air he saw some movement nearby, and headed in that direction to see Zahavi and Zach down by the lake.
“Ah, Thing 1 and Thing 2,” he greeted drily
But it didn’t take him very long to notice Zahavi’s body language and expression, and Eldred quickly shifted. Yes, he couldn’t be bothered to deal with this kind of stuff and he was generally exhausted, but he had known Zahavi since he was born, and Eldred needed to act as the father figure the prince was currently missing. Which sucked, especially since Eldred knew squat about being a father.
“Your highness,” he began “are you alright?”
Well, that seemed like an appropriate response. Well done, Eldred. He just needed to get Zahavi talking, and reassure him that they would do everything they could to help save his parents. He knew how much everything must be weighing on his mind, and as advisor it was literally his job to lessen the burdens of the royal family. This rarely meant acting as an impromptu therapist, but this seemed to be the way his life was going right now.
Eldred twisted the ring on his finger idly as he waited for Zahavi to respond. He was glad, he noted, that Zach had also come out to console Zahavi a little. Friendships were starting to develop, or at least the other people here seemed to care abut Zahavi, which was a positive. If other people cared then that meant they could deal with Zahavi’s emotional stuff and Eldred could avoid emotions as much as possible because honestly they were exhausting and he hated dealing with other people’s. Or telling other people about his own. Just emotions in general. Ew.
Which sounded kind of childish from an elderly man but honestly Eldred couldn’t care less.

Leon froze when she heard voices under her tree, apparently no one had spotted her among the silky evergreen thistles, so she halted her movement. Zelos would be so proud of her, though a part of her almost no felt bad for eavesdropping on such a conversation.
Though really, Zach hadn’t had any audacity with his comments. Though, in retrospect, neither would she. She was on this trip, not as much for being kind, but for vengeance and greed, a small part of empathy. She had never expected the spoiled prince to decide to leave on such a journey as this one. In reality, she thought his presence was stupid as is. Whoever had poisoned his parents were most likely at the castle, throwing a coup as they speak, and the prince just left instead of staying with his dying family.
Hypocrisy, because she would have done the same. Though a sour reminder came to mind, Eldred, she spotted him greeting the two boys, and it reminded her that her parents were indeed dead.
Mother, I could use your guidance. You always knew what to do...
She had to hold back a snort. She didn’t have time to pout and mourn. It made this whole situation more grave. Zahavi still had his parents, he could save them. She couldn’t do anything for her mother and father.
She really was a curse, wasn’t she? Though she rolled her eyes, she almost sounded like Zach. She didn’t feel bad for the prince, but she was also wary of him. His grandparents did take the throne that should have been hers. And even if he was there blood, there was a bitter resentment. Leon didn’t do pity. However, if she saw fit, she could always intervene. Instead she went back to watching the horizon, her enchanted gloves wrapped around her hands, and her hair left in a braid down her left side. She had no idea what they would be facing, but for now, she’d gather what she could from the people below her.
