Exactly what District Seven is capable of... The words stuck into his mind, leading his thoughts once again towards the inevitable. He would have to kill or be killed. But was he willing to do such things in order to save his own life? He was sure that if someone attacked him he wouldn't go down without a fight, but would he be willing to strike others first? Once in the Arena, everyone turned into an enemy, no matter how threatening they might be.
No, he told himself, setting a moral boundary. Don't let the Games change who you are. And with that thought out it seemed plain and simple to him - he would play the Games defensively.
"Hopefully one of us will be able to make it back to Seven" He muttered, suddenly unable to eat any longer. What was life like after the Games? Knowing that 23 people died so that you could live, and most likely having directly killed a few of them yourself. Was life worth that?
[alrighty, this has got to be my last post before I go to bed(finally made it home ) ]

Amadrya Darrow The fire-eyed maid of smoky war
”Yeah, I hope so,” Amadrya replied with a nod “I’m just sorry it can’t be both of us.”
She was reminded once again that one of them - at least - would be going home in a box. That scared her, the thought of being shipped back to her uncle and cousins in a coffin. And if she lived that meant Ari didn’t. It might be that neither tribute would return home alive.
She didn’t know about her strategy in the Games. She was strong enough that she could play the Games pretty aggressively if she wanted to, but she didn’t want to just randomly kill innocent people. She’d kill, but only if she had to. She could leave the cold-blooded murder to the Careers and only kill those who were a threat to her. And then hopefully she could face a Career in the final two, whichever had taken down the rest of the Career pack. She wanted to avenge those who had been killed, and make the deaths of the ones she would eventually have to kill worth it.
The Capitol was the one truly to blame for the deaths of these children, but she couldn’t take down the Capitol on her own. And she certainly couldn’t do it if she was killed.
“So, do you have a plan for in there?” Amadrya asked

Burton Acton And either victory, or else a grave
[May I say that Holly's comment on their relationship being platonic has made me imagine what they'd be like as an actual couple and it made me chuckle ngl. I imagine them being the sort of couple just constantly making fun of the other one and not taking the whole thing too seriously. Calling eachother dorks and stuff]
Burton smiled a little when she said not to feel bad about asking questions.
"Alright, then," he responded with a chuckle "I won't,"
He nodded when she said his sisters sounded lovely and that he should try to get home to them. There was absolutely nothing about that he disagreed with.
"I plan to try," he replied, before continuing, "I hope you plan on trying, too. I don't want the only cool person in these Games to get themselves killed on the first day. I hope you can get home. If you win, I'll be super mad if you didn't avenge me by being the one to kill whoever killed me."
His jokes helped to take away some of the actual fear from the Games. He genuinely believed that in situations like the one they were in, trying to find something to laugh about was one of the best things they could do. It was the biggest middle finger to the Capitol one could possibly give, in his opinion.
He had never met anyone in District 8 who shared his views like this, someone with his sense of humour who was easy to talk to. She was exactly the kind of friend he had needed back at home, and he wished he'd met her before the Games
"Oh, I don't think you have no chance," he said with a shake of his head "you're smart, feisty. That can take people all the way in the Arena. Don't give up just yet, Holly Alandria."
When she joked about him being able to charm his way out of any fight, he laughed.
"I don't know about that. Somehow I don't think any amount of charm would stop a Career who wanted to stick a sword in my skull. But, hey, any skill can be made useful in the Arena so who am I to predict anything?"

- - - - - Holly AlandriaShe laughed slightly, at the cool comment, and softly sighed. “I’m going to try, it’s not exactly on my agenda to die on the first day. But I’m not getting my hopes up on returning home.” She simply responded, “Plus, You should flirt with the careers, boost their ego and then while they monologue about their amazing attributes we can either slice and dice ‘em or run away.”
”Yes,” She flatly said to his comment about her avenging him if he died. “I’m sure people would be terrified of me, maybe I could feed off of them for killing you,” She said sarcastically, but smiled. A type of smile that relayed she would make the person pay, heavily.
”But seriously, I’d have two very mad sisters mad at me if I didn’t avenge you, so I think I would try.” She added, before muttering lowly to herself, “Doubt that’s going to happen though.”
She looked at him, so he had been scanning her too, on attributes. She nodded back, “Your smart, and charismatic. But it’s not my attributes that leave me no chance. It’s going to be the Capital.” She looked down, “And probably a lack of sponsors.”
She raised an eyebrow to him, “Boost their ego, you can get anything done that way.”
“So new topic, any specific weapon of choice?” She asked, gesturing to herself then, “I myself like twin katanas or twin daggers. Just don’t ask me when I get the time to use something like that, because my boss would kill me if he found out I played like a child in the workplace with the sewing equipment.” That was a complete joke, she didn’t play with needles in the textile factories...that much. But she did know the weapon and have it at home, it’s one she may or may not have stolen years back. Not that she was revealing that in the there and now.

Burton Acton And either victory, or else a grave
"I understand that you don't want to get your hopes up," Burton responded to the girl with a nod "I mean, I don't either. But don't give up either. I really think you could by the one to win this year, and I'm not just saying that."
At her joke about him shmoozing with the Careers, he laughed.
"That sounds like a good strategy to me," he agreed "we all know there's nothing the Careers like more than themselves."
He didn't respond to her sarcasm, just laughed, but he took note of the smile she gave at the end of the sentence. A smile that said, despite her joking, Holly did actually intend on making anyone who killed Burton pay. He offered her the same smile in response, because he intended on doing the same for her if it came to that, and if he could.
He shrugged at her comment about the Capitol.
"If it's the Capitol and sponsors that hold you back, then you just have to make the Capitol love you. You're right, you just need to boost their ego. Be the tribute they want. All you have to do is amplify the parts of your personality that might make you appealing to the Capitol and to sponsors. Damn, lie if you have to, because sponsors can be the difference between life and death. Either way, I think you're more than capable of charming the Capitol."
When she asked about weapons, he shook his head.
"Well, first of all, I'm not going to ask how you got experience with weapons, especially katanas of all things. Secondly, I'm not really proficient in anything yet, but I'm going to test out a range of weapons in training and see which ones I do best with. Probably something where I need precision or dexterity, preferably something not too heavy so it doesn't slow me down."
His work in the factories required fine motor skills, he reasoned that he'd do well with weapons requiring similar skills. He knew a good attribute of his for the Games was that he had decent speed, so he'd prefer to avoid something light so it didn't impede him.

[Also 𝐸𝓁𝑜𝓆𝓊𝑒𝓃𝓉𝒟𝓇𝑒𝒶𝓂𝑒𝓇 now we have Leo here too, looks like we only need Winter to make a couple more charries and then we have our 24! This is exciting. I may start working on stuff like interviews in advance now so that they're ready because they don't rely on anything else in terms of roleplay and stuff. I'm happy to do questions again if people want or people can make up their own. Either way, are there any questions anyone would want my charries to answer?]

Amadrya Darrow The fire-eyed maid of smoky war
It was Amadrya's turn for her interview, and she absolutely hated the whole experience so far. She didn't like really opening up to strangers - she had told Ari way more than she would normally tell anyone during that conversation on the train - and she certainly didn't like all of the pageantry around this whole thing. She had been all made up for her first proper appearance in the Capitol, though she had to admit that her stylist - Rova - had made her feel as comfortable as she could possibly be considering that she was dressed up and wearing makeup. Rova Chelsey knew Amadrya's style, and had played it up for the crowd.
But suddenly it was her turn and, while many of the tributes before her had plastered fake smiles on their faces before heading out to meet the host, Amadrya did not do the same. She let her expression remain neutral, though she was sure her face at rest looked serious or intimidating. Still, it couldn't be helped. Nor did she want it to; she figured she might as well just play up the scary side of her personality and her appearance, especially since Rova seemed to have had the same idea.
She gave a little salute to the Capitol crowd while she walked across the stage, before shaking the hands of the Host and taking a seat in the chair for her interview.
"Ah, Miss Amadrya Darrow; District 7's very own shieldmaiden. It's wonderful to see you, there has already been a lot of buzz around your reaping. I'm given to understand that you volunteered?"
"I did," she responded with a nod
"Would you like to walk us through why you chose to volunteer for this girl? Is she someone that you know?"
"Her father is a family friend," she replied "and her brother couldn't do anything. I figured I have a better chance than this little girl did, and nobody else was going to help her."
That was a good enough answer, apparently, because the interviewer moved on.
"And after the reaping, did you get any visitors? Do you have anyone you're leaving behind in District Seven?"
"My uncle and my three cousins," she said with a nod "my uncle has raised me since I was little."
"And what did they say to you? How did they feel about you leaving?"
"My cousins mainly made dumb jokes," she said, to the amusement of the crowds "Nah, they just said that they think I have a real chance, and that they want me to try and win. And I'll be damned if I don't try and win for them and my district."
The crowd clapped for that one, something which almost took Amadrya by surprise. She hadn't really expected the crowd to actually like her - she wasn't the smiley, cheery type that the Capitol wanted or the funny one, or one that provided any kind of entertainment for the audience.
"What is your strategy for in the Arena, Amadrya?"
"Well," she said as she leaned back a little in her chair "I don't know yet because a lot of it will be based on what the Arena is like. So far my plan is to get my hands on as many weapons and supplies as I can, and from there just to do whatever I need to do to survive. I'm not afraid of the realities of these Games, and while I won't hunt people down or stab them in the back, I'm sure as hell prepared to take down the people who cross me."
"Do you have any particular skills that you feel might help you?"
"I'm from District Seven," she said with a raised eyebrow "If that doesn't give you any sort of hint about what kind of skills I have, then I don't know what to tell you. I'm handy with an axe and I'm pretty strong."
"Who would you say is your biggest threat?"
"I don't know, they're all gonna be trying to kill me, so..."
"Are you ready for the Games?"
"Prepared? Yes. Ready? As I'll ever be."

“No one visited me, and I’m not leaving anyone behind that is worth my time? Speaking of time, are we almost done?” I could totally see the Capital person loving or hating her for it.)

Ari thought about it for a moment, thinking about the larger decisions he would actually make when he was thrust into the Arena. He supposed, at first, that everything at this point was hypothetical due to them not knowing the design of the Arena. Forest, desert, tundra, who knows? Ari was hoping for a forest, or at least some place that he could navigate quickly. "Hide," he said almost instinctively, "Wait everyone out and only fight if I'm threatened." He thought a while longer, noting the different events that happened during the Games. "I'm not sure about the Bloodbath yet. Outer supplies, possibly, but it all depends on whether I think I can survive in the Arena." Most of the goods in the bloodbath were too tempting not to miss out on. And if the Arena did happen to be a tundra or desert, missing out on the Bloodbath would mean certain death later on. "What about you? What's your plan for the Arena? And the Capitol, while we're at it?"
