Heartypetal meets Snowstar in private, revealing she is laden with kits. She worries if she too will be kicked out AspenClan for being a pregnant medicine cat, and waits for Snowstar to decide her fate.
Meanwhile, Houndkit and Oatkit find a small patch in the camp's defense big enough to squeeze through. Both go back and forth daring each other to sneak through until Houndkit proclaims that they'll brave the wilderness...

The Doctor and Rose tell Honeyshine to tell Snowstar about the prophecy, and he does so. Snowstar asks the Doctor and Rose to help them train for battle, which the Doctor refuses, saying that he doesn't kill if he can avoid it. He instructs Snowstar to increase patrols, and keep all cats in camp if they aren't out patrolling or hunting. Rose has the idea that if the worst comes to the worst, the Clan could flee to the Twolegplace and disguise themselves as kittypets whilst they gain strength, but Snowstar assures her that they won't need to.

Heartypetal, Oatpaw and Maggie leave for a patrol early in the morning. Only Heartypetal and Oatpaw return. Oatpaw has a long three slashes across her face where a cat dragged their claws across it. Heartypetal is now limping, her paw is temporarily twisted, she also has some scratches. They tell Honeyshine that they were attacked again. It was a patrol mixed between Leafclan and Seedclan cats.
