It is revealed that Smokestar was killed by a few of the cats who were taken over. Infuriated, Snowstar leads an attack, despite the Doctor begging her not to kill. AspenClan wins, despite the battle being long and hard. However, it's revealed that during the battle, Suncloud broke into the nursery, killing many cats. As a reward for fighting in the battle, Snowstar gives Giftpaw, Twinklepaw, and Reindeerpaw their warrior names.

Several days later, a large blue box is discovered in the territory. The Doctor, Rose, and Jack tell Snowstar that they must leave, but will be back to visit now and then. The Doctor tells Snowstar that if she ever needs help, or if any other cat needs help, all they have to do is call for him. They leave that night, and the next morning, both the three cats and the blue box are gone. A few days after this, three Twolegs are sighted in the territory, but do not bother the cats.

While on a border patrol Dexter spots a small Siamese she-cat being followed by another cat. She looks battle-scarred and bruised same with the other. The beg Dexter to fetch Minnowsong, but he refuses telling them Minnowsong passed away. The Siamese tells that her name is Juniperwish and that this is Greymoon and that they used to live in Aspenclan. Dexter reluctantly leads them back to the clan where they are welcomed back by Snowstar. (No problem.) Juniperwish tells the clan how she and Greymoon escaped from Shadowstorm who was now Shadowstar,"We were trapped in a cycle of staying in a closed off den. It was towards the back of the clan, and was guarded by 4 warriors at each time. The only cats allowed in the den were prisoners, The medicine cat, The deputy, and the leader. Shadowstar of course took no pride in ever coming in. We were starved and almost killed, but their deputy and medicine cat were kinder than Shadowstar and are actually mates. They helped us escape by getting us out of the den at night. Finchlight the medicine cat was sly and he drugged the prey with poppy seeds. Causing the warriors to fall asleep. Once they did Hawktooth, the deputy, broke through the camp's harsh barriers and let us go free. He said that he would make up a clever cover story of how a fox broke in and that we escaped just barely with our lives." (Course, right now I want to have a little reunion between some cats) Snowstar is sat outside, gazing onto the sunset. Simon goes up to her and asks what’s wrong. She admits she misses their mother and father and Harry. Snowstar tells Simon she knows of his callings out. The tom admits, saying he called out the doctor, but Snowstar says he was calling out a different cat. Their brother; Harry. Suddenly, a brown tabby pelt can be seen in the distance and the two run up to it. It is indeed their littermate Harry, returned with his kits, and kittypet Riversplash and her kits. The three littermates sit watching the sunset while Harry admires how much Snowstar and Simon have succeeded.
