Adderstar gave the slightest hints of a nod and Eelshock took that as their sign to leave. He stood up and padded over to Fluffcloud. He nudged her. "See you in the daylight." He faded away, waking up.

"See you..." Fluffcloud breathed, still feeling prickles of anticipation fill her. She looked back at Adderstar for a few moments longer, breath catching in her jaws, before she swallowed and mewed. "I wish I could have known you when you were alive. I was always told to be ashamed of being kin with you, but you've helped me more than anyone else." Her eyes seemed to sharpen with purpose. "I'll make your legacy how it should have been, I promise."

Adderstar blinked slowly at Fluffcloud's words. A small smile slipped on his fanged lips. "It warms my heart to hear you say that, Fluffcloud," he said coolly. "I know you and Eelshock have everything it takes to achieve what I have failed. I will continue to guide you toward that purpose. With your dedication and my leadership, we will not fail."

"Right!..." Fluffcloud nodded quickly, her words catching in her throat as she took in a light breath. She wanted so badly to achieve greatness, and what better than to unite all the Clans and bring peace to the forest? She knew she had to resolve herself. Some cats would be too entrenched in their traditional ways... what would they do about that, when the time came? She mused though her thoughts, before she looked at her grandfather and nodded. "I'll see you again soon, Adderstar."

Adderstar gave her a single nod. "Remember, I am still with you in the daylight world. When you return tomorrow night, we'll intensify your training."

Brinetail sat pointedly by the river of sludge, able to feel a growing opportunity. Puddlepaw seemed to be growing more and more arrogant and resentful of his clanmates, for holding him back. If they could get him, surely his siblings could follow.

(Hiya!)
Wrenflight's tail flicked sharply as he waited for Hollowpaw to arrive. It was best to leave her as unmarked as possible, lest the Clan's noses become to keen on the smell of blood on her. He supposed she could lie, say she blindly slipped past brambles, but even then he knew how to play a patient waiting game. Tonight, he wanted to introduce Hollowpaw to some of the other cats in the Dark Forest, and show her exactly what he could make her into with enough training and cunning. His true goal was of course to get to her mentor, his one and only son as far as he was concerned. Silentflare belonged at his side, belonged in the Dark Forest. Hollowpaw would be the key to getting him, eventually.

Hollowpaw blinked open her eyes, happy that she could once again see in her dreams. She had thought that the first time had just been a fluke, but was glad that it wasn’t one after all when she had woken up the second time in this dark place. Hollowpaw sat up and looked around, wondering where Wrenflight would pop out from this time. In the few training lessons he had given her, she had felt herself improving with each one and was eager for more. Silentflare was still taking it easy on her in her training and it frustrated her to no end, so she was glad that she had this to look forward to each night.

Wrenflight purred as he approached Hollowpaw from the shadows. The black tom flicked his tail, looking at the apprentice with something akin to anticipation. "I have something special in store today, if you'd like to venture past our little clearing here. You've been here with just me, but I wanted you to meet some of my friends today. They might have some impressive skills to teach you." He offered.

Hollowpaw perked up at the thought of learning from other experienced warriors, “Really? Who are you taking me to meet?” She asked, shaking her fur out and standing up, ready to go. Her eyes shone, ready to learn more from Wrenflight. He seemed to understand her better than her actual mentor did and actually gave her challenging moves to learn. It was a bit difficult to train with these moves while she was awake and blind, but she soon got the hang of it after convincing Sootpaw to train with her in private. Hollowpaw had been worried Silentflare would make them stop if he found her practicing some advanced moves.

Wrenflight mused, relishing in Hollowpaw's enthusiasm. They were always so easy to control, so easy to excite. Hollowpaw wanted to prove herself so badly, he doubted she would even realize just who she was about to meet. "There are cats from all the Clans that come here. I can show you. Of course, more Thunderclan cats are here too. Vixenrose, your clanmate. Why, her mother lives here too. She's a wily one, very tricky, so you might miss her. But, there are others." He turned and lifted his tail. "Let's go, then."

Hollowpaw followed after Wrenflight, wondering briefly why these cats would be in a dark place like this. She remembered stories being told to her of the Dark Forest and how it was a place for evil cats, but she couldn’t imagine why Wrenflight would be here, or Vixenrose’s mother for that matter. Could StarClan have gotten it wrong with them?

Could StarClan have gotten it wrong with them? "Look. See? Not even a far walk, and already I see some of them." Wrenflight mused, able to spot the shapes of Silentfeather and Fallenlight as the forest faded into dark and rolling hills. Not a single star filled the inky sky, and the grass was dead and withered beneath their paws. Fallenlight turned and gave Hollowpaw a deceptive smile, teeth gleaming as she purred. "So this is the prodigy you've been bragging about. You'll have to pardon Silentfeather's quietness. See, she has trouble speaking at all, the poor thing." Fallenlight gave a crestfallen look, though Silentfeather merely looked at Hollowpaw with piercing eyes, her throat scarred and pink. Silentfeather waved her tail once, signifying her stoic greeting. "Go ahead and guess what Clan these two once belonged to." Wrenflight offered, looking down at Hollowpaw.

Hollowpaw dipped her head in greeting to the two she-cats as they introduced themselves. She didn’t recognize their names, so she wasn’t quite sure which clans they could have come from, but she thought she could scent something similar to WindClan. Looking at Wrenflight, she responded, “Could they be from WindClan?” She asked.

Looking at Wrenflight, she responded, “Could they be from WindClan?” She asked. "She's intuitive." Fallenlight mused, giving Hollowpaw a steady and approving look. She looked down at the apprentice. "We were, many moons ago. You wouldn't have known us, it was long before you came into the world." She flicked her ear as Silentfeather made a scratching noise with her claws against the ground, and Fallenlight smirked. "Silentfeather would tell you that was too easy, we certainly look the part of Windclan Warriors." "Here in the Dark Forest, borders are not defined by Clans. We don't have to keep away from eachother." Wrenflight mused, brushing his tail to Hollowpaw's shoulders. "You can learn as much as your heart desires here, with us."

“I’ve never seen a WindClan warrior before though.” Hollowpaw pointed out. She remembered the scent though, from when Silentflare had taken her to explore Fourtrees. WindClan’s border had just been renewed, so she managed to take the scent in before they had left. Hollowpaw turned back to Wrenflight, “Are they going to help with my training too?” She asked. It would be interesting to learn moves from a warrior from a different clan then her.

Fallenlight has her own apprentices she teaches often, so she may be busy, so most of the time you’ll be in good paws with me.” Wrenflight responded, giving Fallenlight a knowing look. From afar, he noticed Meadowbrook in the shadows, always close to Fallenlight and now no longer hindered by her pregnancy, her death making her a permanent resident of the Dark Forest. For now, Wrenflight would refrain from introductions, but planned to get them acquainted soon as fellow apprentices of the Dark Forest.

Hollowpaw gave a nod, wondering if he was planning on introducing her to anyone else. She thought she saw a glimmer of eyes in the shadows, but quickly turned back to Wrenflight. The Dark Forest was a bit unsettling, but she wasn’t about to admit that to anyone. Hollowpaw didn’t want to show any kind of weakness at all.

By the way, when you’re in the thicker parts of the forest, do be sure to look up.” Wrenflight mused as he ushered Hollowpaw onwards, tail waving as he pointed up at the trees that edged near them. Perched in her usual spot amongst the gnarled pine branches, Ambershade watched Hollowpaw with calculating eyes. The part of the Dark Forest was particularly shaded, near complete in its darkness and flooding with pines.

It seemed many cats resided in this forest along with Wrenflight. “The best Warrior can adapt to any environment. No matter what Clan they come from.” Wrenflight instructed, padding through the Dark Forest with ease. He shot a glance up into the trees and sneered lightly behind his lips. He could feel Foxrose’s eyes on him, though the tricky she-cat was always too well hidden in her spots to see fully. Her penchance to switch loyalties depending on her mood made her a a big threat to their plans, if she decided to tattle. He never told her his intentions, but he had a sinking suspicion she was too clever to not figure it out. No matter. He would keep Hollowpaw away from her as much as he could.

I hear your mentor still is hesitant to push you to your best.”

(Can't sleep, so I'm duplicating)
He wasn't sure when the darkness shifted. It felt so natural. Going from unconscious sleep to the blackness of a place with no stars. Cliffheart didn't realize where he was for a moment when he blinked his eyes open, but when he did, it scared him to realize he felt safe in those few moments.
"No." Cliffheart scrambled to his paws, his gaze wildly darting around the dark. "No. I shouldn't be here."
"But isn't this where you belong?"
Cliffheart whipped around at the voice. He bared his teeth, heart racing like lightning. "Cavernrock."
A mouse-gray tom jumped down from the forest's bare trees. He watched Cliffheart with maliciously playful green eyes. Cavernrock was formerly an apprentice of AdderClan. Robinstar gave him his warrior name after he killed his brother, Treepaw. Cliffheart still saw Treepaw's blood stained around Cavernrock's pointed grin.
When Cavernrock stepped closer, Cliffheart backed up with fur spiked. "My. My." Cavernrock chuckled. "You a little tense, Cliffheart?"
Cliffheart glanced past Cavernrock. Where one dark forest warrior was, another usually showed up. "Leave me alone. I don't belong here."
Cavernrock scoffed and turned his nose up. "You know that's a lie. Otherwise, you wouldn't be here. If you think I called you here, you're more of a birdbrain than I thought. I've got better things to do than to draw you in."
Cliffheart swallowed tightly. He couldn't deny the quiver in his gut that told him Cavernrock was right. He guarded his tone. "If you have better things to do, then be on your way."
"And ruin a perfectly good chance to talk to you?" Cavernrock mocked offense. "Now, why would I do that? We're kin, after all. My daddy. Your mommy. You know the story."
Cliffheart flicked his tail in attempt to let annoyance overtake his fear. Cavernrock's father was Jumptree, brother Hiddenface, Cliffheart's mother. "I remember you killing your brother."
Cavernrock suddenly jumped at Cliffheart, landing right in front of him and snapping his teeth. "And it felt good! Oh, poor whiny little Treepaw. Couldn't handle being a warrior of AdderClan! Couldn't handle what Robinstar was doing to SkyClan. Couldn't handle the taste of blood on his tongue." Cavernrock licked his lips. "You remember it, don't you, Cliffheart? That sweet, metallic taste of crimson right after your fangs pierce someone's neck. I heard you tasted it many times."
Cliffheart clenched his teeth and stepped back from Cavernrock. "I'm not that cat anymore."
"Aw." Cavernrock playfully pouted. "Too bad no one believes that."
"That's not true."
Cavernrock stretched out and squinted up at Cliffheart. "Isn't it? I mean, look where you are, featherhead. You're in the bloody Dark Forest. You think if anyone believed you weren't a murderer anymore you'd be down here? You think StarClan wouldn't still condemn you here after you die? You died once and this is where you ended up. That's not going to change when that life Northstar gave you runs out."
Every word out of Cavernrock's mouth pounded more and more fear into Cliffheart's being. "No. It's..." he backed up, swaying his head. "No. I don't...I don't belong here!"
"But you do, Cliffheart." Cavernrock stood up and motioned to Cliffheart's paws. "You've still got the blood of your victims on your paws. That's something StarClan can't forgive. That's why they're taking everyone you love away from you. You'll never see them again."
"No." Cliffheart looked at his paws and he lost the ability to breath when saw the blood stained upon them. How many cats had he killed for the Dark Forest? How much training? How much dedication? I just wanted to be the strongest, but they used me instead. "I'm..." His voice dropped. He didn't believe what he was saying anymore. "I'm not that cat."
"You remember how it felt?" Cavernrock stepped closer, a sinister smirk on his face. "I remember hearing stories of how good you were. You rivaled Robinstar. Rivaled Adderstar. I heard the story of how Blackadder told you to slay a RiverClan warrior that was going to out our secrets to the Clans. You didn't hesitate. Went right for the throat. A merciless kill. And, you held his throat until long after he was dead. I always wondered why? Did you fear he might not have been dead?"
Cliffheart hung his head. The weight of the shadows felt as heavy as a mountain. "No," he sighed. Guilt ripped its claws through his gut. "It's because I enjoyed it."

Splashecho's fur prickled when she felt her conscious suddenly grow cold. When she opened her eyes, she let out a scream. "No! No. No. No. No. No! Not here!" She whipped around. The blackened trees of the Dark Forest hung over her like claws prepared to snatch her up. "I can't be back here. I don't want to be back here!"
"Splashecho!"
Splashecho whipped around, fur spiked, claws out, teeth bared, but she blinked in start when a black tom with silver 'v's on his back ran up to her with a warm smile on his face. "Waspstrike?!"
"Oh, Splashecho." Waspstrike tried to press against his sister, but Splashecho wheeled away.
"No." Splashecho bared her teeth. "Stay away from me. I don't want any part of this place or what you traitors do!"
Waspstrike flattened his ears and looked away in hurt. "I know. I'm sorry. I just..." He hung his head. "Splashecho...I just wanted to see you."
She squinted at him. "What do you mean?"
Waspstrike took a deep breath and stepped away from her, pacing. "It's so...cold...down here. The shadows stick to your fur and..." He looked away in guilt. "I just wanted to see you."
Splashecho lashed her tail. She wasn't buying it. "Why?"
He looked her right in the eye. "Because I miss you." Waspstrike stepped closer. "I'm sorry about the way I treated you, Splashecho. I had no right--"
"If this is some trick to get me to join the Dark Forest again, you're out of your mind Waspstrike!" Splashecho growled at him. "I want nothing to do with this place!"
He blinked in surprise, but his ears fell back with guilt. "I can see why you'd think that, but you have to believe me. This isn't a trick. AdderClan, they..." he sighed. "Robinstar and Adderstar haven't been the same since we've died. We thought they'd continue what Blackadder started, but they've holed themselves away in a hollow across the forest. Cats that get too close," Waspstrike shrugged. "They get killed. Everyone's been fighting each other for leadership after that and...with Creeksplash gone, it's a bloodbath. After Bloodsight got killed, I'm trying to stay out of it, but..."
Splashecho furrowed her brow. She didn't like what she was hearing. How could she believe what she was hearing? Did Adderstar and Robinstar really give up? Was the Dark Forest really disbanding? "But what?"
Waspstrike sat down and hung his head. Splashecho had never seen him look so shameful. "I'm lonely, Splashecho."
She blinked in surprise. Those were words she never thought she'd hear her brother say. "And I'm the first cat you thought to reach out to? After everything you did to me?"
Waspstrike winced. "I know...I know. I just thought...well, you're my sister, Splashecho, and you've always been so kind--even to those who don't deserve it. I hoped..." He dipped his head and Splashecho took a step in shock. "I wanted to apologize. For everything. I swear, I'm not who I used to be. I hoped we could talk? You have kits now, right? How are they? A-and Spiritstar. How is she leading SkyClan? Please, I'll...I'll talk about anything."
Splashecho quieted. Her brother wanted just wanted to talk? He kept his head dipped like he was bowing to a leader and she recognized the pain in his eyes. She believed he truly felt guilty. "You're done with everything AdderClan?" She asked stiffly.
Waspstrike looked her right in the eye. "Yes. I swear it, and I swear if any of the other cats that reside here try to hurt you, they'll have to go through me first. You're in no danger here, Splashecho. I'll keep you safe. I just want to talk."
Splashecho let out a slow breath. She didn't trust her brother, but she knew she had to give him another chance. Spiritstar gave me one, Splashecho glanced warily around the black wood. Waspstrike was one of the best fighters in AdderClan. She couldn't deny he would be able to protect her here. "Alright." Splashecho slowly sat down, still tense, but she nodded to Waspstrike. "What do you want to talk about?"
Waspstrike grinned. He scooted closer as giddy as an apprentice on their first day out of camp. "How are you, sister?"
