Getting Better, but Very Tired.

((Will join discussions and such tomorrow. For now, am still dead.))
Doeshine
Doeshine hummed thoughtfully as she leaned down to take her own bite. "Well, let's see now," She purred after swallowing the morsel, "I'd love to have a little she-kit I could name Honeykit after my mother." She chuckled lowly, tail flicking contentedly. "As for the others, I'm planning on just waiting and seeing if anything comes to mind when they're born," She explained as she delicately took another bite, "Though I think I'm leaning towards Applekit for one as well. It was an apple tree that Jasminestar found Oliver and I nesting under and I think it would be nice as an acknowledgement of the start of our journey here."
Foxwhisper
Foxwhisper flushed, ducking his head and looking away as Shirkeclaw did. "Thank you for understanding," He meowed softly, before clearing his throat and nudging Lightpaw. "You go on and eat up," He murmured to her, motioning to the prey left nearby, "We'll have a busy day tomorrow and I think it would be a good idea to get some extra sleep. We've nests to build, dens to sort out and the rest of the Border to mark."
Lilyfern
"Our den," Lilyfern replied, motioning with her paw, "Is a burrow whose entrance lies among the tree roots that Jasminestar was standing on. It's an old and long-abandoned fox den, so we'll only have a little work to do in order to get it ready." She smiled, thinking of her first night in the den. Even though she had always preferred to sleep in trees, sleeping in the burrow had felt cozy, safe and protected, riding her of the usual anxiety that came with sleeping too low down. Shaking her head, she laughed lightly at Palepaw's question.
"Kitting is... Messy," She meowed, amusement lacing her voice as she remembered, "But the experience is usually as unique as the Queen going through it. Though I've only helped deliver the one litter, I've seen a couple more. Some Queens are loud, some are quiet. Some kittings are over in what seems like mere moments, while others seem to last far longer than they should. Some Queens will refuse to let you near them, others will crave contact and reassurance. An old friend once told me that I'd learn in time to get a feel of what kind of kitting it will be by a Queen's personality, though it's never foolproof, so now you will as well. After all, we have three Queens with very different personalities who are going to kit soon enough."

((Should I make a separate page for planning/gushing lol? And sylveeon don't worry, Badger still isn't good at socializing either. He's just lucky that Berry is also my character and I decided I liked their dynamic. And she's SA in a different way, so all three can be socially awkward together.
I'll probably make a Smog child, and I think actually bring in Badger's past for Ghost's group? Even if originally his kits were with another character's cat I can just retcon and generate new ones. I think that'll cause some good tension too.
Wow I started responding around 9 pm and now it's 2:30 and I'm finally done and barely did anything, though I guess I did a lot of being distracted by youtube.))
Lionfire with Eaglestep & Sparkpaw
Lionfire had merely snorted when Eaglestep said he'd be a better deputy. He was about to say more when one plucky apprentice popped up with her own scolding. The short tabby flicked his half a tail. "We all know each other about the same amount, and you just said that I'd be a good deputy. No cat is so great that they catch every prey and win every fight. Having the humility to know you aren't the absolute best is important in a future leader," he paused to give his audience a dazzling smile, "That's why I know you'll be a better deputy than me, because I am the absolute best."
Pearlfang with Squirrelleaf
Taking her first bite of wild game, Pearlfang sat back and licked around her muzzle. "What an odd taste, much stronger than dry bits," she concluded. There was a tickling sensation on her cheek and she pawed at her face to find a feather had attached itself. As it fluttered to the ground the she-cat looked at Squirrelleaf, head tilted. "Do all birds taste like this?"
Mothpaw with Sootfang
Expression softening, Mothpaw nodded. He gulped down a bite of the prey in front of them. He knew he'd at least need to tell Jasminestar about his claws at some point, but for now maybe it was time to meet the clans he'd be spending his life with. The young cat took a few more bits of meat before nuzzling against Sootfang briefly. He coughed and looked off to the side when he addressed the older tom, "Thanks, for everything."
Jasminestar with Piketooth
"You'll need someone to help you when those sore joints get to be too much," Jasminestar meowed. They shook their head. "I couldn't have let you stay alone, and I'm glad that you're with us now."
Badgerheart & Berrystorm with Juniperfoot
Taking the other she-cat's reaction as a 'go', Berrystorm looked at Badgerheart and stuck out her tongue, "See, some cats don't think I'm too much." She purred though, knowing that her larger friend meant well when he teased about her loquaciousness. Turning back to Juniperfoot with sparkling eyes, the tiny cat piped up again. "Oh yes, I've made it my business to already know everyone. We're like a big family now, you know?"

(Smog is gonna just have... so many kits, LOL. I'm really looking forward to watching all of this play out. It'll be interesting to have Smog arrive in varying stages of peacefulness - first on his own, then with his group, then he teams up with Ghost. Plus, Tawnyfur is 100% going to love and snuggle and be friends with any cat she's even vaguely related to, or is younger than her.)
Eaglestep paused for a moment, before smiling shyly. "I... I really don't know if I'll be the best deputy," He said with a shrug. "And even if I become leader one day, I definitely wouldn't be the best leader." He sighed, looking around the camp. "I guess that I'll just do my best."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Mostly," Squirrelleaf said with a shrug after he'd finished his bite. "Different kinds have different flavours, though. Like... a sparrow would taste different to a raven, if I know what I'm talking about." He bent down to take a second bite, chewing and swallowing faster than before.
(Maybe a separate thread would be good because we can get a lot more detailed planning done?
Also another plot-twist I cooked up last night...Rabbit and Nettle are actually Piketooth's grandchildren, their mother was his daughter. Pikey knows he's got kits out there somewhere, he just hasn't seen them in a very long time and isn't sure where any of them are. I doubt I'm going to make Rabbit and Nettle's mum anything more than a NPC who just sort of exists and I don't think Piketooth is going to see her again but he's going to definitely see his grandbabies when they show up to attack his Clan)
BLOSSOMTAIL "Those are such lovely names," she purred, a warm smile growing steadily on her face, "and I'm sure your kits will be positively angelic." Blossomtail hadn't necessarily thought of any possible meanings behind the names of her kits, and so she thought that Doeshine's reasoning was incredibly sweet and thoughtful. She liked the idea of names that were taken from nature, as her own had been by her mother when she was just a kit. "How does the nursery work?" she asked suddenly, a thought crossing her mind as her eyes fell briefly upon the den where she, Doeshine and Tawnyfur would be staying. Realising her question was very vague, she began to explain her meaning. "Do we have to hunt and fight like the others, or do we stay in camp?"
PIKETOOTH The old tom gave a rusty purr, his whiskers twitching. "You very well could've left me alone, but you didn't," he reminded her. He took a long moment to stretch himself out, gritting his teeth as the joints in his shoulders popped. He'd been in a state when Jasminestar had found him in the forest after a bad encounter with a group of cats who'd stolen his prey, and if he'd been in his leader's position he probably would've turned tail and walked the other way; he'd been bleeding and bruised and firing out all sorts of vile profanity even long after the fox-hearted cowards had retreated. After hearing Tawnyfur's story from Shadowfrost, he'd put two and two together and deduced that the cats who had ambushed him had been affiliated with that rat Smog. "Do you think we'll have any trouble?" It was a little out of the blue, but he hadn't had time to ask Jasminestar about his own worries as he'd been meaning to. "Those cats from the twolegplace, the rogues?" A part of him hoped that Jasminestar would be able to reassure him and convince him otherwise, but he had a sinking feeling that his leader might share his concerns.
SOOTFANG "Don't sweat it, kid." His response was pathetic, he realised with an inward curse. All his life, Sootfang had never had to worry about another soul - not since Rosie, anyway, but she'd disappeared a long time ago. It seemed to him that the universe had lined up the events of the past day in such a perfect, deliberate way that had led him to where he was right now, a warrior of SnakeClan with an apprentice he'd rescued from the city. Having someone else to care about and watch out for was a strange thing to him, as he wasn't very good at dealing with others, but he supposed it'd just be something else that he'd have to get used to alongside his new name and his new home. He couldn't help but laugh at Mothpaw's awkward reaction to his own display of affection, and reached out with a paw to ruffle the fur on top of the young tom's head. "I could say the same for you, y'know," he hummed, "if not for you I'd be nursing another set of wounds behind a twoleg bin."
PALEPAW The thought of sleeping in an old fox's den might've unnerved him once upon a time, but he felt surprisingly safe with the Clan and with Lilyfern. "So, there aren't any foxes nearby, right?" He had to ask, even if it was a little silly; there were no other Clans around according to what Shadowfrost had said on their way to the camp, so he had assumed most of the conflict they'd have to get involved in would be related to other predators who lived in the forest, or cats from the city who grew far too bold. "I was hoping kitting would be less confusing than that," he admitted meekly, one ear flopping against his head.
"In a way, we are. You know, maybe I should try to be more like you. I know barely anyone here." Juniperfoot replied. It was only now that she looked around, seeing so many unfamiliar cats she hadn't seen when she had arrived. The group was expanding right in front of her eyes and she had been away from camp too much to notice.
Doeshine
"Flowerkit sounds lovely as well," Doeshine purred, yawning widely as she tucked her paws under herself, "Foxwhisper was a sweetheart as a kit, but even he had his bad days, I doubt this litter will be much different." A soft purr rumbled in her chest as her eyes drooped slightly. "From what I remember, we stay in the Nursery until the kits are six months old. They'll be apprenticed at that age and we'll move into the Warrior's den with the others," Smiling warmly, she quickly reassured Blossomtail, "We don't fight as Queens unless we absolutely have to in defence of the Nursery and our kits. We can hunt if we wish to, but the Apprentices and Warriors will hunt for us for the most part. Queens, Kits and Elders are fed before the rest of the Clan, as kits are obviously very important for the future and growth of the Clan and Elders have earned their rest after serving the Clan as Warriors."
Lilyfern
"There haven't been any scented close to Camp," She reassured him, brushing her tail against Palepaw's flank, "Though there are foxes in the area, of course. It will be the job of the Warriors to deal with any that cross over our borders though." She giggled slightly, smiling warmly down at her Apprentice. "I'm afraid kitting is one of the most complicated jobs for us," She meowed, amused, "But like everything else, you'll get the hang of it once you've been through a few of them. We have Raspberry Leaves, which will help with any bleeding and pain, and Juniper Berries, to help calm them and give them strength, though only one Juniper Berry should be given. There's also plenty of strong sticks about for the Queens to bite down on and I saw that some cats have gathered moss, which we can soak so they can have fresh water during their kitting." She hummed thoughtfully, shaking her head. "I wish I had some Fennel," She complained lightly, "It's very good at easing pain in the hips, such as during a kitting."
BLOSSOMTAIL The thought of getting to be a warrior after her kits were apprenticed was both exciting and daunting to Blossomtail. "Clan life sounds so...organised," she mewed, her eyes shining with fascination, "I never would have guessed that being a part of a Clan would be like this." One day she would hunt and fight alongside her kits, who would be trained by the very best to become the very best. "It'll be a lot easier for the little ones when they're here, they'll never know anything but the Clan."
PALEPAW "I know about juniper berries, too!" Palepaw exclaimed, "There was a bush full of them just on the other side of Bumble's- I mean, Bumblepaw's twoleg nest." He listened attentively as Lilyfern explained the kitting progress, trying his best to make as many mental notes as possible for future use. There would be a lot to remember, and even more so when he and Lilyfern began to learn more about different herbs and what they're used for. At his mentor's mention of fennel, he frowned, furrowing his brow. "Fennel...that's the plant with the white bulb thing at the bottom, near the roots, right? And the really tiny leaves? I think I know where to find that." He could've sworn he remembered seeing some in one of the gardens at the very edge of the city near the forest, but whether it was still there or not was a mystery to him.
((Ok I've updated the front and have made the planning page. Oh also while I was trying to figure out what kittens could look like if you mixed a Siamese with a bi-colored cat I found this which I ignored and took my own liberties so Badger's kits would look closer to their mom.
I think Berry is actually Pinkie Pie, and also my brain has been generally fried all weekend so my apologies for this post being the barest I've given I think.)) Lionfirewith Eaglestep & SparkpawNot wanting to put up with more moping, Lionfire gave his new clanmate a gentle nudge of the shoulder. "Hey now, what example are you trying to set for the kid here?" he asked, nodding to Sparkpaw. "You will be trying your best, and that's why you'll be doing just fine." Maybe I should take up motivational speaking, the tabby thought smugly. Pearlfang with SquirrelleafWhile taking another bite, Pearlfang let out a thoughtful 'hm'. Her tail thumped on the ground as she pondered the different things that were out here for her to try. "Which do you think is easier to catch, sparrow or raven?" Both seemed difficult to her, sparrows were small and ravens were big enough to fight back. That thought scared her a little. Jasminestar with PiketoothAt the mention of the Twolegplace rouges Jasminestar grimaced. "I don't imagine why they'd come this far out, Twolegplace cats aren't too keen about hunting their own food," they said. Their tail frizzed out as they thought about their own life back in the city. "Besides, most are cowards and we have a sizeable group. One look at the clan and I'm sure any rouges would turn tail." Mothpaw with SootfangSmiling warmly at Sootfang, Mothpaw's eyes gleamed with overflowing emotions. He flicked his tail against his mentor's flank. "Smells a lot better out here I bet," he mrrowed. He followed up with a sigh as he looked at the rest of the clan. "Guess it's about time we introduce ourselves." Berrystorm & Badgerheart with JuniperfootExcitement tremorring through her, Berrystorm bounced on her paws again. Her eyes had an unnatural amount of shine as she looked at Juniperfoot. "Oh, I can take you around and introduce you to everyone if you want," she offered. Badgerheart let out a small sigh. StarClan help us all, he thought while shaking his head and smiling.
Eaglestep paused, before nodding. "You're right. We have young, impressionable cats in the Clan, and a whole bunch of new kits on the way. We need to make sure that they develop a positive attitude towards life," He agreed. "I'll do my best as deputy. Just... tell me what I'm doing right, and what I'm doing wrong, okay? Constructive criticism."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Sparrows, I think," Squirrelleaf hummed, before taking another bite of the bird. "They're very small," He explained after swallowing, "But the majority of small birds have zero situational awareness. They won't notice you until you've caught them. At least, that's my experience."

Lilyfern
Lilyfern perked up, tail twitching in excitement. "Really now?" She chirruped happily, "That does sound like Fennel. Well then, Palepaw, if you don't mind then tomorrow you can go collect some. So long as nobody decides to Kit in the middle of the night, then we'll have a very useful herb to add to our stock for the Queens." She paused, thinking about it. "It should also be good for Piketooth," She meowed thoughtfully, eyeing the old Warrior where he was talking with Jasminestar, "While he has a few Moons left in him, he'll be retiring to the Elder's den sooner rather than later. A supply of Fennel could help extend that time, since the hips are often one of the first things to go when a cat starts getting older." Shaking her head, the spotted Medicine Cat smiled softly down at her Apprentice. "We'll send a couple of these muscular fellows with you," She promised, not wanting him to worry about going alone, "They can help you carry more herbs back so we can have a big supply. If you have time, we could use more Juniper too."
Doeshine
"I'm looking forward to it, I think," Doeshine hummed, stretching as she pushed herself back into a sitting position, "I've been a kittypet most of my life and when our twolegs stopped caring, it was Oliv-Foxwhisper who had to take care of me. I wish I had known more, back when it all began. I tried, but then this bunch came along and I just... Was so tired." Sighing, she shook her head and smiled wryly at Blossomtail. "This Clan is the best thing that could have happened. I'm not sure if any of them would have survived with just me and Foxwhisper to feed them. I would have had to try to beg at other twolegs to try and get them a home or even a meal and how could I ever trust that one day that twolegs wouldn't just... Stop feeding my kits as mine did?" She meowed sadly, looking over at her sweet, happy son, "At least here they'll learn to take care of themselves as well as others. And now I can learn what I should have, how to be a cat instead of a twolegs' pet."

"Really? Uh, sure..." Juniper responded, a glitter of uneasiness showing in her mannerisms. She was positive that the other cats were having their own conversations and lives. She couldn't just walk up and disturb them. But the warrior didn't want to disappoint this cat she had just met, so she couldn't help but accept the offer.

Lionfire with Eaglestep & Sparkpaw
Twitching his half a tail, Lionfire snorted. "Don't worry about me not criticizing, constructive or otherwise." He placed a paw on Eaglestep's shoulder and put a small amount of pressure for a gentle nudge. Then he flashed Sparkpaw his signature dirt-eating grin and winked. Together the two of them were sure to whip this cat into tiptop deputy material.
Pearlfang with Squirrelleaf
"That's good to know," Pearlfang mused. Bending down for another bite out of routine, she noticed something about the bird. "Oh, looks like we're done. Would you like some of the feathers for your nest?"
Berrystorm & Badgerheart with Juniperfoot
Badgerheart could have sworn he saw currents vibrate around Berrystorm as she dashed loops around him and Juniperfoot. "Oh boy! We'll start with Shadoooowfrost and Tawnyfur, they're great!" the ginger brushed against the older she-cat before she bounced around in the direction of the young queen and her protector.

Eaglestep laughed, smiling. "I have a feeling that I've gotten myself into something I can't escape from here," He purred. "But hey - this might actually turn out to be fun, huh?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Sure," Squirrelleaf agreed. It would be nice to have some feathers - both as extra cushioning, and as a memoir of his first piece of shared prey as a warrior. It was odd to think that he was a warrior now - not a rogue, or a loner, or a kittypet, or a street cat. He was a warrior.
PALEPAW The young tom perked up immediately, his chest puffing out of its own accord with pride at being given his very first official medicine cat task. "Okay! I saw the fennel in one of the twoleg gardens in the city near where I live- lived, I mean. I'll try and carry as much as I can back, as well as the juniper berries," he mewed brightly, "but...what if one of the Queens kits tonight? What will happen?" Although he wouldn't say something of such a nature out loud, he already felt rather important - he would have warriors escorting him to collect herbs, and he'd get to tell them what they needed to do! He could definitely get used to this. He was very eager to prove to Lilyfern that he could be useful, too, and that she could place her trust in him to accomplish important tasks such as this from now on.
BLOSSOMTAIL Blossomtail's eyes rounded with horror for Doeshine as she heard the other queen's tale. "That sounds so awful, for them to stop feeding you like that. I'm so sorry you had to go through such a dreadful thing," she murmured, instinctively pressing her pelt to Doeshine's in an attempt to offer comfort to the older she-cat, "but it's good that you had Foxwhisper, and that you two found the Clan when you did. Now your kits will have a warm place to sleep, lots of food and other kits to play with!" In a way, she was also subconsciously offering herself a little reassurance, but her attention was focused on Doeshine. "Foxwhisper will make an excellent big brother, and we'll all help you look after the little ones."
SOOTFANG "Oh, you don't even know the half of it," Sootfang snorted. He rose to his paws as Mothpaw did and cast a glance in the direction of their new Clanmates, who were scattered around the clearing in small clusters of conversation. "Who looks the least likely to tear us to shreds here, huh?" he asked, flashing Mothpaw a brief toothy smirk.
PIKETOOTH Piketooth nodded solemnly, reassured in part by Jasminestar's words. "Maybe you're right, most rogues would turn tail and run for the hills at the sight of our fighting force, but I wouldn't put anything past that scoundrel Smog," he mewed gravely, turning his lamp-like orange eyes upwards to meet his leader's, "we can't be too careful with that rat-hearted piece of foxdung still breathing." But if he ever showed up on their doorstep, Piketooth would make sure he wasn't breathing for much longer.
Juniperfoot shyly followed Berrystorm. She found herself standing in front of a queen and a tom. *Oh great, a queen. She's probably busy enough with expecting kits, she probably doesn't need me and Berry to come bothering her.* Juniper didn't want to say anything, so she waited for the rather hyperactive warrior standing at her side.
Lionfire with Eaglestep & Sparkpaw
"Oh for sure, but don't worry I think it'll be worth it," the small tom assured Eaglestep as he nudged the deputy some more. He thought it'd be fine in the end. As far as he understood there weren't any rival clans nearby to deal with, and he didn't know many city cats to come out here. There's always been rumors of forest cats that eat anyone foolish enough to come out, he'd even seen much older cats back away from the border between the worlds. They'd only found one fox so far and he didn't see signs of too many predators on the patrol. Surely there wouldn't be too much to actually do in terms of protection, and therefore nothing to mess up.
Pearlfang with Squirrelleaf
Purring, Pearlfang split the pile in half. "There, half for you aaaand I'm gonna go put most of these in the nursery now bye," she said quickly before taking her half of the feathers and dashing off. Of course, the quickness was mostly so she could sequester the warm feelings she was getting again. She kept a couple of feathers for her own nest..whenever she decided to make that. Both feathers were stuck in the fur near her right shoulder as she slunk back out of the nursery and watched the clan from that distance.
Mothpaw with Sootfang | Doeshine & Blossomtail
After scanning the crowd again, Mothpaw gestured toward a cream tabby and a tortoiseshell. "Queens are probably safe, I guess as long as two gruff cats like us don't startle them," he mrrowed, puffing out his chest as if he didn't have the softest looking fur in the world. The young cat was cautious in his steps, almost crouching to the ground as he approached the queens with wide eyes. They seemed to be having a moment and he didn't want to be rude and interrupt. Better to be rude and stare, he figured.
Jasminestar with Piketooth
Recognizing the true concern in their elder, Jasminestar took the matter seriously. "We'll keep an eye out on the Twoleg border. If he dares to pass our warnings then he'll regret it." There was some grit in the mottled cat's voice. They'd watched Tawnyfur over the last day as well and her reoccurring fears hadn't gone over the leader's head. Smog wouldn't harm the young ever again, that was a promise Jasminestar made before and reaffirmed now. Shaking their head, the large cat let out a purr, "That's enough of letting that mongrel ruin our night. Come on, let's eat. Then I'll find you the best spot for a nest while you talk to Pearlfang."
Berry & Badgerheart with Juniperfoot, Shadowfrost & Tawnyfur
Skidding to a halt in front of Tawnyfur and Shadowfrost, Berrystorm lashed her tail. She steadied herself before reaching out and pressing her muzzle to the queen's shoulder gently. As she pulled back her tail brushed Shadowfrost's paw. Quick ways for the energetic cat to greet others. "Guys have you met Juniperfoot yet? She hasn't really been around much but she's here now," she chirped, walking around and brushing her shoulder against the black and white cat.
From behind them, Badgerheart settled down and tucked his paws under his mass of fur and stock. He quietly dipped his head to the cats he was somewhat familiar with.
(I have a feeling that Eaglestep may be developing a small rather large crush on Lionfire, LOL.)
"I suppose so," Eaglestep purred happily. "I'm looking forward to being a part of SnakeClan," He added. "I loved being in a Clan when I was a kit, and now... I'm the deputy of another," He mused. "I guess that I'm just... proud of myself for all that I've achieved."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tawnyfur looked up as Berrystorm, Badgerheart, and Juniperfoot approached. She eagerly returned Berrystorm's greeting, purring softly, before glancing towards Juniperfoot. "No, I don't think that we've met before," She replied, looking the other she-cat up and down. "Nice to meet you, Juniperfoot. I'm Tawnyfur," She introduced herself.

Lilyfern
Lilyfern flicked an ear, smiling down at Palepaw. "I have no doubt you'll do your best," She mrrowed, before considering the question, glancing over at the now three queens they had. "Well," She meowed, going over them in her mind, "Doeshine isn't that close to kitting yet, so I don't believe we have to worry about her. I haven't checked Blossomtail yet, but from what I see, she's not even as close as Doeshine yet. The only one I'd worry about is Tawnyfur and even if she kits, we still have a few herbs that can help. It may be a little more painful for her if she kits tonight, but Queens have successfully had kits without any herbs and raised healthy young litters, so I wouldn't worry too much. I may just give her a little more Raspberry leaf than I would if we had Fennel, take the edge off a bit." She considered her stock of herbs, before eyeing Palepaw. "What do you think?" She asked, tail flicking calmly, "Have you heard of any other herbs that you think would be useful for a kitting Queen?"
Doeshine
"Thank you," Doeshine mewed back, offering the other Queen a tired smile, "But my story is hardly the worst here. To be honest, I'm much more worried about Tawnyfur. At least my mate was a decent cat, the poor molly is too young and her so-called mate is a rat-hearted piece of fox dung." Doeshine pressed back against Blossomtail, accepting the comfort and trying to offer some of her own. "The three of us will just have to stick together, I think," She continued, trying to lighten the atmosphere a little, "Foxwhisper loves kits, so I'm sure he'd be just as happy to be big brother to the entire nursery. With all our kits growing up with each other in a Clan that will protect them, they're all going to have a big family to fall back on."
Shadowfrost
Shadowfrost looked up from where he had been grooming his fur while his companions ate. He huffed in amusement, flicking his tail in a greeting to Berrystorm. Eyeing the cat they came to introduce, he turned to nod respectfully at Badgerheart. The other tom was similar to him and Shadowfrost knew the kind of fights you had to survive to get scars like theirs. "Don't think I've met her either," He chuckled, waving his tail in a greeting to Juniperfoot, "I'm Shadowfrost. And this, is my Apprentice, Bumblepaw." He shifted his bulk, showing Bumblepaw who had been eating her mouse beside them, but blocked from the new group's sight by Shadowfrost.

PALEPAW Palepaw frowned, wracking his brain for anything he'd learned from Dandelion that might be of use. "Well...Dandelion - the cat who showed me the herbs in her twoleg garden - told me that borage is used to help a queen produce more milk? That'd be used after the kitting though, obviously," he mewed, glancing up at Lilyfern for confirmation. There was another one that he knew, but he couldn't quite remember the name. Ch...Cha...Ce...Ca...C...Che... "Chervil! Chervil, right? I...I've never seen it, but Dandelion told me what it looks like. I'm not sure where to look for it, though."
BLOSSOMTAIL The tortoiseshell queen gasped at Doeshine's description of the father of Tawnyfur's kits, surprised to hear such strong language from the gentle queen. This cat must be the definition of all things awful if Doeshine describes him in this way. "We shall," she mewed in agreement, her whiskers twitching, "there'll be no force stronger than the nursery queens of SnakeClan." She kept her voice light, hoping to make Doeshine smile. A small flash of movement in her peripheral vision drew her attention, and she turned her head to see a pair of toms approaching them: one was very young, with kit-soft grey and white fur, but the other one was large and had a few scars visible beneath his thick grey pelt. These were the cats who showed up in the last few moments before Jasminestar returned - what did Jasminestar call them? "Oh, hello," she mewed, tilting her head in greeting, "my name is Blossomtail, and this is Doeshine." She smiled at the pair, hoping to make them feel more comfortable as they seemed a little tense.
BUMBLEPAW Bumblepaw looked up at the sound of her name, swallowing the last bite of her mouse. She swiped her tongue around her jaws to clean her fur, and peered around Shadowfrost's legs, her ears pricked and eyes wide as she took in the sight of the cats in front of her. She recognised the large black-and-white tom called Badgerheart, as she'd seen him before when she'd first arrived in the camp, but did not know the name of the smaller ginger tabby although she'd also seen her around. The black-and-white she-cat, however, was a complete stranger to her. "Hello!" she mewed brightly, stepping out from behind her mentor, "I'm Bumblepaw!"
PIKETOOTH Piketooth nodded, satisfied with Jasminestar's response. "If he ever shows his ugly mug around here, I'll tear it off myself," he declared with an edge to his voice, but tried his best to sooth his ruffled fur. At the mention of food, the old tom was suddenly very keen to leave his patch of sun, as much as he'd enjoyed it that day. He rose to his paws and stretched himself out, wincing as the joints in his legs strained. "Lead the way, Jasminestar." He grinned toothily at his leader, snaggle-tooth poking out over his lower jaw.

Juniperfoot flicked her speckled ear in acknowledgment. "Nice to meet you two. So. uh..." She trailed off. Juniper had absolutely no idea what to say. As mentioned before, this was the first real conversation she had had in 5 moons. Maybe the real social butterfly would have an idea of how to pick up the conversation. The cat gently flicked Berrystorm with her long tail. The warrior had flicked her eyes back and forth from Berrystorm to Shadowfrost, hoping she would get the idea.

((Lycaonia I hope your sister's ok, and for real my motivation is spotty af so don't even worry about it. Take care of you above this, we'll be here <3 Sparklyyyyyyy..Lionfire is ofc the best cat in the clan, v charming. It's not surprising that one would find themselves crushing on him :grin:
Oh I just realized..Piketooth and Pearlfang are the two cats who have teeth poking out! Teef-gang. And the other day I realized Berrystorm is a lie. I say she's a solid ginger, but there are no solid gingers. All red cats are tabbies..Owlspots just reminded me with their post.))
Lionfire | Pearlfang with Eaglestep & Sparkpaw
"Weird how life works out, huh?" Lionfire hummed. He looked around the camp once more before standing up. "Well let me know if you need anymore pep talks, I'll be around." He brushed against the other tabby as he padded off, nodding to Sparkpaw. The small tom made his way to his patchy sister, smirking. "Liking your time out here I see," he purred teasingly. Pearlfang rolled her eyes, shoving her body against the smaller frame of Lionfire. "As much as you are," she retorted. "No idea what you mean," the little lion replied easily. He'd simply been making friends, strengthening the clans.
Berrystorm & Badgerheart with Juniperfoot, Shadowfrost, Tawnyfur & Bumblepaw
When Shadowfrost moved to reveal one of the new apprentices, Berrystorm let out a trill. Her ears twitched as they picked up Juniperfoot's attempt at conversation, and looked when she was flicked with a tail. Oh she looks like she needs some help, the ginger thought. Her tail squiggled as she turned her attention to the dark tom before them. "So Juniperfoot used to live in a different clan, she could tell you amazing things about that," she offered, giving aforementioned cat a gentle nudge with her cat-elbow.
Badgerheart just gets mentioned because he's there, but he continues to do absolutely nothing but exist.
Jasminestar with Piketooth
Purring, Jasminestar pondered which place would be the best for a cat to sleep. Green eyes finally landed under one of the larger fern clusters that was in a spot they knew would be warmed by the sun while that was out. "What about that spot? It's got a good mix of shade and sun," they suggested.
Mothpaw with Sootfang, Doeshine, Blossomtail
Though he wondered about what the two had been talking about prior, Mothpaw was excited that one of the queens acknowledged the two toms and straightened himself back up. "Hello, I'm Mysss-Mothpaw, and this is Sootfang." He'd sounded much more polite than when he'd met Soot in the alley. Surely that was because he'd been caught off guard when he ran into the burlier tom. Besides, Sootfang couldn't really hold a flame to either gentle looking she-cat. Mothpaw snickered inwardly at the thought before reprimanded himself, he owed a lot to Sootfang already and did actually think highly of him.

BUMBLEPAW Bumblepaw's eyes widened in awe as she gazed up at Juniperfoot. "Another Clan? That's so cool! What were they like?" She knew that Eaglestep had also been part of a Clan once, when he was even younger than her, but there was a lot he didn't remember. She'd had no idea that there were ever any other Clans out there - what if there were others out there right now? That was such an exciting thought! Maybe some of them lived nearby and she'd get to see them one day.
SOOTFANG and BLOSSOMTAIL Sootfang dipped his head to the pair of she-cats as he approached. "It's a pleasure to meet you both," he mewed with a purr, "I hope we aren't intruding." Blossomtail shook her head, her eyes friendly as she examined the two toms. At first when she had noticed them from afar, she had been a little wary; Sootfang looked a little bit like a cat she used to know and wished she could forget, but when she had noticed that his fur was a solid grey rather than striped with tabby markings, she had relaxed considerably. "Not at all - please, sit," she invited, gesturing with her tail for the pair to settle down if they so wished. Sootfang offered Blossomtail and Doeshine the same smile he'd flashed to Jasminestar, broad and a little toothy, and sat down at Blossomtail's invitation, curling his tail around his paws.
PIKETOOTH Piketooth peered around his leader from where he stood behind them, having to squint to see the spot Jasminestar was indicating - his eyesight was getting worse and worse these days. Ah, the perks of old age, he chuckled to himself. The spot looked quite nice to say the least, shrouded by a generous amount of shade for particularly hot days and in the perfect location for the sun to shine through the ferns and warm his old bones. "You've got quite the eye for these things," the old tom purred, blinking warmly up at Jasminestar, "I'll take it before the young'uns snatch it out from under me. Where'd all that moss get to?" He spun around, scanning the camp for the pile of moss he could've sworn had been there earlier before he'd fallen asleep.

Lilyfern
Lilyfern hummed, nodding. "Borage is an important herb to have with kitting Queens around," She mewed fondly, "And luckily I happen to have some, as it's also good for reducing fevers, usually with Dandelion added to it and chewed into a paste." Her face went softer as she continued with a grin, "Chervil isn't something I've come across before, so you'll have to show it to me." Straightening up, she slipped into a more serious, teaching sort of voice. "Now, the other two useful for kitting," She explained, "Are Comfrey root, which has multiple uses but we're interested in it's talent for soothing joint pain, and Parsley, which stops a Queen's milk and we hopefully shouldn't need. The Comfrey would do the same as fennel will do when it comes to kitting, so we shouldn't need any for a bit, but it's also useful to line the nests for ailing Clanmates in our den with to reduce general aches and pain."
Doeshine
The Queen blinked, vaguely amused as her conversation with Blossomtail was interrupted by the two newest toms in the Camp. "Well now, it's nice to meet you two," Doeshine returned, straightening up and returning Sootfang's smile, "And don't you worry, we don't mind a little interrupting." She fluffed up her fur slightly, trying to stave off the yawns she could feel creeping up on her. It seemed she was tired all the time these days. "So, what brings you two to SnakeClan, if you don't mind me asking?" She asked, tail curling to rest against her barely-swollen stomach.

Juniperfoot sighed. Her old clan was a piece of her past that she didn't particularly like to talk about. But she didn't want to make the conversation awkward. "It was lovely. Everyone was loyal and fierce, especially my sister. I was the medicine cat." The cat reluctantly let on in response to Bumblepaw's question. "One day I had kits and... that was the end of my time in Morningclan. Maplestar wasn't exactly the most lenient leader when it came to the code." Juniper added. It hurt to talk about her kits. She missed them every day and wished there just could've been a way that she could've prevented being exiled, but she had learned that life just doesn't work out sometimes.

((I'll get back to this one day I promise guys. It would've been today but I get home from work and my partner confirms that his workplace is set on us moving to Canada and just...I'm drained from all the stress of thinking of doing that this summer on such short notice. Wonderful when I was just picking back up from a Depression Session{tm} Oh, last I heard from Lyca her sister was doing good post-surgery so that is actually a good thing and we should celebrate that c: ))
