What is a l e g a c y ?
This is something Jasmine has wondered for most of her life. It was something her father often talked about, the family legacy that was long lost. It became a bedtime story, how her family was once part of something called a clan. They lived in peace with other cats, who in turn lived in semi-peace with other clans in the forest. Not that she knew much about the forest, living on Twoleg paths and mostly off their scraps.
Eventually Jasmine lay next to her dying father, who managed to take them to the forest for the first time. He went over the family story once more, eyes glistening with the admiration of the past and hope that one day they could be that great again. Jasmine wasn't sure if it was the whim of her father or if perhaps the stories had just finally gotten to her, but she didn't leave the forest after burying the tom.
At first she did her best to stay away from other cats, afraid they'd immediately feel their territory was being threatened and engage her in battle. A visit from a cat with stars in their pelt one night caused her to start seeking cats out. They showed her a vision of herself atop a rock, speaking out to a group of cats who were cheering for a young cat. It looked like one of the ceremonies her father used to tell her about. The sight caused something to stir deep inside.
It was later, after she'd gotten a few cats to join her that Jasmine realized their clan still had no name. Nothing she thought of felt right. Eventually she looked at the sky and asked for help, surely the dead cats who had lived in the majestic clans knew what they wanted the clan to be called? Wasn't this just as much of their legacy? When she'd started to give up hope and pick the next thing that came to mind, she heard rustling in the dead leaves near her paws. She looked to see a snake not far off. Startled, the she-cat froze. She noticed the reptile wasn't paying attention to her, it was busy slithering between rocks. She watched it shed old skin, leaving shiny new scales underneath.
This she took as her sign. A sign of rebirth for the life of clans. A sign of new life for the cats who joined. This is SnakeClan. This is Jasmine's legacy.

Wait for it. W a i t f o r i t .
Simply put, this is a roleplay where a clan is starting from scratch. A few cats, like Jasmine, might've grown up knowing things about the clans that once lived in the forest. Others might just think joining up with other cats would either be a nice change of pace or a good survival tactic. Whatever the case, Jasmine is rounding up anyone interested to join what she's calling SnakeClan, a clan for new beginnings (because there are just too many Dawn and Sun clans for me to have gone the obvious route).
Before signing up though, there are a few rules : - Obviously, follow forum rules. - Be respectful. The only thing I don't tolerate is hate, this is a super safe space. - I don't mind small posts, I make those often myself. Just try to stay away from one-liners, please. - Try not to get too far ahead of everyone else with posts. Coming back to pages to read after a day can be daunting.

* Jasmine found Mimi and her son Oliver in the Twolegplace, followed by Spirit, Shorty and Pearl. * Tawny, a young cat in a bad situation ran into Shadow in the city. Together they went into the forest and found Badger, who led them to Jasmine's group.
* With the whole gang together, the short trip to the new camp commenced. How will the city cats fare to life in the forest, without any Twolegs to help them? Will all the cats get along and stay in the clan?
* Right before the first day ended, one last cat found his way to SnakeClan's new camp. Eagle's knowledge of clan life made him quickly welcomed by Jasmine.
* Jasmine had a strange dream about a mysterious stone. What does it have to do with the starry cats the clan needs to reach? * After setting the borders led to a fight with a fox, the first border patrol learned that they'll have to stay vigilant if they want to stay safe. * Jasmine and Emiko (who also had a star-filled dream) find that mysterious stone. There's a reunion and then they become official clan cats!*Jasminestar renames all their friends and the cats celebrate their new lives by feasting.

((Yes, those cats are fantastic, and Emiko already being with Jasmine is fine c: I'll add them in their spots and I guess we'll start off. I'll be gone until Sunday afternoon after this due to work hours though. Oh, Mutt you jumped in while I was typing lol. I will also add your cats. c:)) It was not too long past sunrise when Jasmine woke up. Not because they wanted to be awake, but because Berry had curled up next to them last night and ended up kicking them repeatedly in the face. They were careful to untangle themselves from their friend. The ginger cat hardly stirred as her leg plopped on the grass. Jasmine shook their head, snorting in place of laughing as they stepped away from their small group of companions. It was another day to try to expand the group, and maybe look for a better place for camp. A rumble tore the silver and white cat from their thoughts, perhaps breakfast should come first. Deeper in the forest, a large black and white tom snored. His muscles twitched under his fur as he dreamed of chasing squirrels. Just before catching one, he woke up. Realizing the meal was only a dream, Badger groaned. Before going to hunt he stopped at a nearby pond for a drink. The tom was slow in his movements, keeping his ears pricked to catch the slightest sign of life. Monsters zoomed by Shorty's most recent nest. His fur was ruffled and he let out a huff. He'd been out roaming all night and just wanted to sleep all day. With a final sneer at the Thunderpath, the dwarf cat headed to a place he knew he wouldn't be too disturbed. Pearl wasn't all too surprised when her brother scratched at her window. Even though he'd chosen to stay on the streets with their father, he would often find her at her Twoleg's den when things got rough or he wanted to be lazy. "You know my Twolegs would take you in if you stuck around," she told him once again as she pulled out one of the pelts she slept on for him. "I can't stay cooped up, you know that," he replied, brushing his tail against her white fur to show he appreciated her concern. Even though she tsked, Pearl gave a toothy, gentle smile.

Moth woke up slowly, consciousness grabbing at her like pointy brambles clutched at fur, making a small noise of distaste when she finally opened her eyes and saw that it was, in fact, morning. She got to her paws reluctantly and blinked the sleep from her eyes, ears twitching as she looked around to see if anyone else was awake yet - and yes, it seemed that Jasmine had indeed woken first. She padded towards the fluffy she-cat, a friendly purr in her voice as she spoke.
"You're up early, Jasmine," She meows, settling near her and beginning to wash her paws, glancing up at Jasmine occasionally as she did so. "Do you have any plans for today? I-" She paused, her belly giving a mighty rumble. "Well. I was planning on doing some hunting, first and foremost."
Deeper into the forest, curled up inside a rotting log, Web peered up through one of the many holes in the wood at the dawn sky, glowering slightly. He hadn't managed to get much sleep the night before - in fact, he'd spent most of it out hunting, all the prey seeming to have been extra-alert the day before. He'd managed to catch a mouse eventually, though, and while it wasn't quite enough to fill him to bursting, it was good enough for now.
As the sun rose and more light flooded the forest, he finally wriggled his way out of the log, paws silent on the soft grass as he peered around, ears straining for any suspicious noise, before he finally decides it's safe enough to fully leave. He slinks away from his temporary sleeping spot and towards the nearby pond to catch a quick drink before he began the - hopefully luckier - morning hunt, his thoughts on tasty mice or squirrels or, if he was really lucky, a bird of some kind.

Emiko listened with one ear to the conversation between Moth and Jasmine going on below her. The sleek half-blind cat preferred to spend hers night in high places, far from the ground. She felt more comfortable here, curled in an old squirrel's nest in a hollow tree. Emiko had been awake for a while, listening to the sounds of the forest waking up around them and the comforting noises of her companions moving and shifting in their sleep.
She sighed softly, tail draping over her muzzle for a moment, before she finally decided it was time to get up. The lithe young she-cat stretched as she wound her way onto the branch directly above the speaking pair. "Good Morning," She mewed softly down at them, big blue eyes peeking over the branch to peer warmly at the two other cats, "Did you sleep well?"
Shadow yowled and spat as he threw himself at the slightly larger tom that had been encroaching on his territory for weeks. He had fought hard to claim a particularly choice bit of territory that bordered the forest. 'Now this brash young snake thinks he can just stride in and take it from me?' He snarled furiously in his mind, digging sharp teeth into the other's ruff.
It wasn't until Shadow scored a particularly heavy hit on the other tom's head that the brute retreated to the sound of Shadow's furious growls and hisses. The tom didn't relax for a few minutes until her was sure the cat was gone, before grumpily sitting down to clean out his new wounds.

Jasmine was letting the sun warm her while she thought of where to hunt when she Moth speak to her. The mention of how early she was up caused her to snicker. "Yeah well," she mewed, nodding to where Berry lay spread out. "I am planning on hunting before I look for more cats, and I've been thinking that maybe we need a better place to stay? I'm sure if we plan to have a big clan we'll need a lot of places for nesting." Excitement bubbled out of the cat as she explained her ideas. She was so invested in this that she didn't notice Emiko moving along the branches above them until she called out to the two cats. Though it was quiet, the noise spooked the fluffy cat and she jumped. Seeing friendly blue eyes above her, Jasmine relaxed. "Oh, good morning Emi. I slept...well enough."
After finishing his drink, Badger watched the calm water sit still. He knew there were some fish in there and even though they were on the small side it would be enough to keep his stomach quiet. A rumbling stomach was as much trouble as a snapped twig, and he wouldn't lose a meal to himself like that. As he'd learned long ago, he sat in a way that kept his shadow off the water and waited. It felt like ages before a fish got close enough. Claws flexed as the large tom swiped his paw through the water. Drops splashed, sprinkling across the cat's face as the fish was tossed onto the ground a few tail-lengths behind him.

At the mention of the ginger she-cat she peered over at her, huffing in amusement at the way she was spread out in her sleep. Yes, she could definitely see how poor Jasmine might've come to be awake so early, sleeping next to a cat like that. She's about to turn her attention fully back to Jasmine when Emiko speaks and, like Jasmine, she too startles slightly - she hadn't quite noticed the she-cat was listening in. She looks up at the mostly white cat, yellow-green eyes bright and warm.
"Good morning, Emiko. I slept fine - I hope you did too?" She says, her words a friendly purr as she shakes off the slight embarrassment she'd felt from being so easily startled. Then, remembering she'd been about to reply to Jasmine, she snaps her attention back to the silver-white she-cat, tail quivering and a wordless mrrow leaving her jaws.
"Oh! Yes; I do think we'll likely need someplace bigger then this for a larger Clan, it feels a bit crowded and that's just with the four of us! Perhaps we should go hunt and then meet back here at, say... Sunhigh?" She babbles slightly, shifting her weight from paw to paw, clearly just as excited as Jasmine seemed to be.
Web, having been distracted from his pursuit of a morning drink by the scent of a nearby mouse, had stopped to do a quick hunt. He was crouched low, ready to pounce, the mouse a tail length or so away. He watches it root around in the grass, oblivious to his presence, before suddenly he pounces - and in moments he's filling his belly with it.
When he's done he cleans his paws and muzzle a bit before standing and stretching with a purr, heading off in the direction of the pond once more. It's not far away and soon enough he's lapping at the cool waters, pleased at the cooling effect it had.

"I slept fine, thank you," Emiko mewed, leaping down from her branch and landing delicately nearby. It was obvious that she was amused by her companions, warm laughter sparking in the depths of her eyes as a slight smile played about her muzzle. She sat in front of the others, listening with interest at their plans. "That sounds like a good idea," She purred, kneading at the ground in front of her. She paused a moment, worried. Emiko had little in the way of fighting skills. She was delicate-looking, more built for speed than strength. She shook it off quickly though. She could outrun most of the cats she knew and she knew how to get out of a hold, that would be enough for a little exploring. She turned her attention to Jasmine, waiting for the Leader of their little group to weigh in with her opinion.
Mimi mrrowed as she stretched in her nest. Her stomach felt heavy with the kits that lay within, growing steadily. She knew she still had a long way to go, after all this wasn't her first litter, but she had a feeling that there was more than one kitten in there this time. She remembered her two-legs smelling of fear-scent after her little Oliver was born and taking her to the cutter not long after he was born. The strange, cold thing he put on her stomach had calmed her two-legs right down and they had come back home.
'Thinking of Oliver,' She thought, turning warm eyes to the heavy weight that was curled up beside her in the same nest, nose twitching in sleep. "He's getting far too big for this," She murmured gently, beginning to groom her scruffy son. He made a slightly disgruntled sound, but settled quickly. 'We need to leave,' She thought sadly, looking at the house they now lived at. Her old two-legs had loved them, she could tell. She had smelt of so much sadness when she left them at this house, far from their first home. Their new two-legs just... didn't care. Often forgetting to feed them, or locking them out at night. She knew that when her kittens were born, they'd be sent to other two-legs or just forgotten like she and Oliver were. Shaking her head, Mimi settled further back into the roots of the tree where they had made their den for the night and curled around each other to keep warm. 'Where would we go?'

Listening to her companions, Jasmine nodded. "A brilliant idea," she agreed. She thought briefly about Emiko, who she knew wasn't much of a fighter, and about the easygoing Berry. It wouldn't be good for either to come across an aggressive cat alone. Her fluffy tail swung as padded over to the last cat to wake. A massive paw nudged the other's ginger belly. "Hey wake up, there's a fox coming," she said in a deadpan tone.
Even without urgency sounding, the word "fox" was enough to startle Berry into jumping to her paws. Her short fur was spiked out in a mix of fear and having rolled all night as she looked around. Noticing that no one else was in a panic, the solid orange cat slowed her breathing and quickly licked her chest. "That's not funny Jasmine," she huffed.
Jasmine gently whacked the smaller cat with her tail. "You would've slept through a fire if I didn't do that. Now, we're all going to go hunt and look for more cats, I want you to go with Emi so she can keep you in line. We're meeting back at Sunhigh." With that, Jasmine nodded to her friends before taking off.
Berry bounded up to the spotted Emiko. "Good luck Moth!" she called cheerily.
Fish scales and bones were scattered among the ground as Badger got to his paws. The huge tom stretched his back then each individual leg, finding it nice after crouching for so long. He'd just gotten comfortable in a seated position, ready to clean any remaining fish from his whiskers when a breeze brought the scent of another cat. He sighed, it had been such a peaceful day so far. Well, I'm not leaving before having another drink, he thought to himself. It wasn't like he couldn't take any cat he came across anyway, if it came down to that. Despite his scar-riddled pelt, Badger didn't relish in fighting and tried to avoid it when he could. If only other cats thought the same way. After he finished cleaning his whiskers, the tom went back to get a final drink from the pond.
Pearl always hated how quiet the den was with her Twolegs gone. And wow were they gone a lot. Maybe that was partially why she didn't mind her brother crashing there so often. Still, he was sleeping and she was bored. By now she'd already knocked over a few things and scratched at her favorite post, what else could she do? Shorty's right, being cooped up all the time is horrible, she inwardly groaned. Finally she couldn't stand it anymore. The mostly white cat went to where her brother was napping and woke him up. "Hey, I wanna go see the forest," she told him.
((Oh, how do you guys want to go about finding each other? I was trying to figure out the best way but..ah?))

(Thank you! I'll just put some starters up, and whoever has characters free can pick them up. ) Winchester was patrolling the forest, out looking for... things. Whatever, really. New cats? They could be recruited into the group. Predators? Report it back to Jasmine. Prey? Catch it - it could feed a cat tonight. The tom sighed, dropping his shoulders, his pace becoming more rhythmic as he relaxed. ~~~ Eagle was sitting and relaxing just outside his den at the edge of the forest. He was very content, dozing in the sunlight as his tail flicked around. He had prey and herbs stored up, and no rain was expected. The tom could relax without fear of having to suddenly flee. ~~~ Tawny was terrified. She had spent the past half-moon flitting around the city, paws constantly on the pavement. At the age of 14 moons old, she was on the run. The she-cat had been manipulated into becoming mates - Mates! - with one of her father's friends a few moons back, and now? She was expecting kits. She needed a way out of the city, and fast. She was currently cowered in an alleyway, taking a breath before she was back running again. ~~~ Spirit was sat in her Twoleg's garden, miserably staring through the fence. A dog barked loudly at her as it passed by, but she didn't even flinch. The young she-cat was miserable. She hated being a housecat, but what else was there for her with her crippled leg? There was no point...

((I hope you don't mind me picking up Tawny's post ^^))
Shadow raised his head from where he was licking at a particularly deep wound on his side. He heard the sound of pawsteps, almost frantic in their pace, headed his way. He scowled briefly, before jumping up onto one of the nearby bins, waiting for the cat to arrive. Surely enough, seconds later he heard them turn up his alley and stop. He briefly considered just letting them pass, but he had a reputation to uphold. He hissed loudly and threw himself into the path of the newcomer, fur bristling. His hissing cut off abruptly as he saw the small, dark-brown cat that had invaded his space. The scent of a terrified young female expecting kits invaded his nose, settling the instinct to fight that was in the back of his mind. He quickly backed up, trying to to frighten the she-cat more. "Apologies," He rumbled, ducking his head slightly, "I thought you might have been another tom come to take my territory."

Shadow rolled his shoulders in a shrug, sitting once more to continue cleaning his wounds from earlier. "So long as you have no eye on my territory, you can stay as long as you want," He replied, eyeing the cut on his side that was causing him issues. He was silent for a few moments, before looking up at the much younger cat. He ran his eyes over her, tilting his head. "Are you... Alright, little one?" He asked, haltingly. Shadow was unused to being friendly to other cats after all this time, but the little female hardly deserved his ire. "You seem upset. Is there anything I can do to help?" He peered almost shyly at her, a little uncomfortable but earnest.

Shadow blinked a moment, not expecting the she-cat to give up her story so easily. Then his eyes narrowed in absolute fury. A growl rumbled in his throat as he looked back the was she came. "Fox-hearted mousefodder," He hissed threateningly, despite the tom not being near. He turned his gaze back to his new companion, straightening up in indignation. "Little Queen," He started in his deep, gravelly voice, "My name is Shadow and, if you agree, I would very much like to make this my problem. Whether you require an escort to somewhere safe, or someone to... take care of this cowardly tom that chases you."

Berry looked up at Emiko, tail waving behind her. "So where should we go first?" Even though she was a little past being a fully grown adult, the ginger cat was still full of wide-eyed innocence and found Jasmine's vision for life exciting. She'd do anything to help them reach their goal.
Blinking dully, Shorty gaped at his sister. He never thought he'd hear her want to leave the safety of her den, but nevertheless he got to his paws. It was dangerous out there and she wouldn't last on her own. "Alright then, let's get going before you change your mind," he decided. Gleefully, Pearl held up the broken screen of the open window for her brother to exit before her. The two traveled through yards, only stopping when they heard some particularly loud barking. Shorty looked around to make sure the dog wasn't in the yard they were about to cross, and saw a young cat staring at nothing. "I think we can make it by without a problem," he whispered to Pearl. The she-cat nodded and followed the shorter cat as he slunk close to the cat's den. All was going well until Pearl tripped over a water hose and tumbled with a yowl.

Whether you require an escort to somewhere safe, or someone to... take care of this cowardly tom that chases you." Tawny froze for a moment, blinking thoughtfully, before nodding shyly. "It's nice to meet you, Shadow," She replied. "I'm Tawny. All I really need right now is somewhere to stay where I won't be found. I can feed myself - all I need is somewhere safe to shelter." Honestly, the she-cat was incredibly surprised. The last cat she met had simply clawed her across the nose, before chasing her streets away, and uncomfortably close to her birth den. That was where her father's friend would be staying. It was unusual to find kindness in the city at all...

Shadow huffed, shaking out his fur. "Best head into the forest then, Tawny," He replied, getting to his paws again. He headed to the other end of the alley, away from where she came. "Most of the cats around here won't step foot into it. Some old legends about 'Clans' or something," Shadow remarked, shaking his head and looking back at her. "I've been in a few times. There's plenty of cats in there, but most of them are loners or kittypets looking for a thrill." He took a moment to think. If her were to spend any length of time away from his alley, he knew that rat of a tom would be back to claim it for his own. 'Eh, I can always kick him out again,' Shadow mused, before smiling at Tawny. "Come on," He mewed, motioning for her to follow, "I'll take you in and show you where I've found good places to hunt."
Emiko smiled placidly at Berry, getting to her paws and stretching out. "Well," She started, thinking about it, "Perhaps we should head further into the forest. We also need to find somewhere easily defended, there are foxes and badgers in this place that may decide to try their luck on any kittens we eventually have in the Clan." Her tail flicked lazily as she mused over a good spot for their Clan to settle. She looked towards the heart of the forest, before glancing back at her travelling companion. "What do you think, Berry?"

((I need to start learning to read without distractions, I did not realize Web was already drinking at the pond at the end of your post. I apologize Mutt.))
When Badger lifted his head from the pond, he was shocked to see that cat not far from him was also black and white. He wasn't a spitting image or anything, but it still surprised him. After feeling like he'd gaped for long enough, the bigger cat started to slowly back away. He didn't want to take his eyes off the other cat in case they tried to attack while his back was turned, but he wasn't ready to try to strike up conversation with a stranger either. He'd been alone for so long he wouldn't even know what to talk about, if the cat wanted to talk at all.
Shorty cringed and turned back to check on his sister before looking over to see if the cat by the fence had taken notice to the noise. He assumed it was hard to, with the dog barking so loudly near her, but there was still a chance. After all, Pearl did knock into a box that had a few shiny things in them, and they clanked as the box tipped over.

(It's fine, it's fine! Sorry it's taken me so long to respond, been a pretty busy past few days.)
Web looked up upon seeing some movement in the corner of his eye, ears twitching in mild shock when he sees a similar looking cat to him - black and white, but still very different. He pauses in his drinking, observing the cat as they back away with a sort of guarded curiosity, the shock having worn off quickly. He wasn't keen on starting a fight and clearly this cat wasn't either... He sat up slowly, making a quick decision.
"Hello there." He meows, voice calm and friendly, body relaxed - non threatening. An easy enough greeting for the cat to ignore if they so chose, but also an invitation to talk if they wanted to, too.
"And good luck to you too, Berry!" Moth called, watching Berry and Emiko for a moment before standing up, stretching deeply before shaking out her fur and bounding off into the forest in the opposite direction of Jasmine, already focused on the idea of mouse or squirrel or even bird to be caught.
A few foxlengths from their temporary camp she gets the scent of mouse and sets to hunting with glee.

((Mutt you are totally fine, life/yourself comes first inky, yes we are still open. The only spot that isn't available is a cat already in Jasmine's group. Semper, I appreciate that))
Hearing the other cat speak, Badger froze much like a deer caught by the light of a monster. The last thing he expected was for another cat to greet him passively. He gaped again as his brain whirred back to life. Finally, functionality clicked. "Hello," responded, the word coming out smoother than he thought it would. Then he panicked again, what did you even say to a cat that wasn't trying to shred you? "How are things?" Wow, Badger did his best not to physically cringe.
Berry dipped her head to Moth before turning back to Emiko. "That sounds ideal," she agreed. The small cat started taking in her surroundings with more seriousness and thought, not wanting to overlook what could become the perfect spot. Every so often there were clusters of trees, but none seemed right and she saw too many spots that would need guarding. The ginger was so focused on this job that she let a mouse dart past her.
Jasmine headed toward the Twolegplace, belly half full of a squirrel they'd caught on the way. It seemed like an easy place to find more cats. They remembered knowing and seeing many cats struggling to survive there, and wondered if they'd like a chance to live a little more peacefully. The cat wandered through yards and alleys, tracking down scents and trails of others. Most were dead ends, and a few led to territorial things who didn't want to hear a word of what Jasmine was offering. The last trail led to scuffle with a much smaller but oddly intimidating cat who attacked before the mottled cat could leave.
It was after this that Jasmine skulked closer to dens, a scratch on their shoulder bleeding and matting their fur. Irked but still determined, they trotted on in hopes of finding friendlier cats..after they found a place to rest. The fluffy cat was still muttering under their breath when they noticed a tree. The roots looked big enough to make a comfortable spot for a break. Relieved, they made their way over and only stopped when they noticed the scent of two cats already nearby. Getting more cautious, Jasmine slowed and found a twig to step on and hopefully alert the two so maybe they wouldn't get ambushed by some scared cats.
((That would be a post for Mimi and Oliver <3 ))

Getting Better, but Very Tired.

((Sorry for the wait. I currently have a migraine and am posting on strong painkillers, so please excuse any mistakes.))
Emiko and Berry
Emiko padded after Berry, slightly bemused at the situation. She got along fairly well with the slightly older she-cat, but never spent much one-on-one time with her. Emiko let her good eye roam over her surroundings, but never really saw anywhere that stood out to her. A rustling on her right side made her ear twitch and, without thinking, she turned and pounced on the noise. A paw scooped the mouse into the air and she snapped her teeth, killing it quickly. Her eye flicked to Berry, chuckling. "Berry," She called around the mouse, "Food." She set the mouse down. It was a plump little thing and, while not a full meal for two fully grown cats, it would be enough to keep them going until they could hunt properly.
Shadow and Tawny
Shadow let himself smile at the young Queen, leading the way out of the alley. "We're pretty near the forest here," He mused, keeping an eye out for any trouble, "There's a few rows of two-leg dens to go past, but it's not very far." He eyed her for a moment, before deciding it was maybe better to stay on the ground unless there was no other choice. He peered around each corner, making sure the coast was clear before continuing on. As he had said, it didn't take long to get to the edge of the forest. "Here we are," He mewed, eyeing the trees with fondness. He had spent his kittenhood playing in there, catching his first mouse in the shadows of the trees.
Mimi, Oliver and Jasmine
Mimi started at the sound, her movement shaking Oliver out of sleep. He followed his mother's wide-eyed stare to a fluffy-furred silver and white cat staring at them. Leaping to his paws, Oliver snarled deeply, warning the cat away. However, seeing as the cat didn't attack, Oliver settled down to just glaring suspiciously, standing in front of his mother. "What do you want?" He growled, fluffy fur puffed at to make himself look bigger.
"Oliver!" Mimi scolded him, pushing herself to her paws. Her kits were just large enough to start affecting her movement. It was easy to see by now that she was expecting. Oliver started sightly, ears going back at being admonished by his mother. "Sorry," He muttered, tail lowering abruptly and averting his eyes. He was still tense, ready to move at any sign this strange cat might attack. Mimi snorted, turning a warm but cautious gaze to Jasmine. "Apologies for my son," She meowed, dipping her head slightly in greeting, "I... I'm Mimi and you are?"
