((Shadowfrost and Eaglestep it'll be. Also quick question Lycaonia, what color are Mimi's eyes? Also anyone interested in a discord roleplay? It'll most likely also be slow bc my friend works nights and is trying to pick up a second job, but the clans are at least long established.)) Jasminestar"Well if that's it," Jasminestar said as they hopped off the root and started walking towards the one of the cats nearest them. They made a quick glance to Lilyfern talking to one of the younger cats and took note before focusing on Berry. "Berry, the time we've spent together has shown me that you are passionate and ready to give your all for this clan. By the powers of StarClan I name you Berrystorm, for your energy," they announced before placing their nose on the small cat's forehead. They whispered that now Berry was to lick their shoulder, and after they stepped back and moved to the next cat. "Mimi, you've already shown a great amount of kindness for these cats you've just met. For that and your grace I give you the name Doeshine, I hope that's okay." They repeated the action of placing their nose on the queen's forehead. Naturally Oliver was next to his mother, and Jasminestar smiled at him. Not the warm smile they'd been giving lately, but one of their more mischievous ones. "Sweet, quiet Oliver. I really could not tell you apart from the fox earlier today. I'd like to call you Foxwhisper from now on," they announced before going over the ancient action of their shoulder getting licked. "Eagle. I know this is different than what you would've gotten for a warrior ceremony in your old clan, but I'm grateful to have you here. You've had quite a journey and with StarClan's blessing I name you Eaglestep." "Badger you are so big and look so intimidating but I've never met a cat who can tolerate Berry for as long as you," they paused as their friend let out a soft protest. "From now on you will be called Badgerheart, for dedication you've already shown to the clan." Next was Winchester, who they'd been considering names for for a while. The cat had been with them for a while and Jasminestar thought on how they met. "Winchester was darting through the trees when he found us. To commemorate your climbing abilities and cleverness you will now be Squirrel-leaf." "Pearl, you've been helpful since joining and I've noticed your enthusiasm for forest life. With StarClan's blessing you will be Pearlfang." They noticed the patchy cat look down at their muzzle before holding their head high. Sitting close was the kittypet's brother, another cat Jasminestar had been pondering about. "Shorty, today you used what you've considered a disadvantage against a fierce enemy today. From now on you will be called Lionfire, for your courage." Nearby were Tawny and Shadow. A blessed pair of cats if they'd ever seen one. Thankfully they'd been listening to what they could of cats talking about their names early, so they started with Tawny to buy time on Shadow. "Brave soul Tawny, running from what you did took so much strength. I could give you a number of names to reflect this, but under StarClan's guidance I will simply call you Tawnyfur. You're a wonderful cat and I hope the clan brings you the peace you deserve." "Shadow you are by far our most battle-worn looking cat and anyone who sees you is immediately intimidated. Even though your heart was obviously melted by a young cat in need, I'd like to name you Shadowfrost for your outer exterior..I think it sounds pretty cool don't you?" They grinned as if they were the most clever of cats, touching Shadowfrost's forehead before moving to Pike. The older cat had been around for a bit too, and Jasminestar wasn't sure how much hunting or fighting he'd be able to do, but he was such great fun to have around. "Pike, you have such a way with words and I think I'd like to call you Piketooth. I hope you're ready for all the new kits to clamber around you for stories when you retire." The only other cat that Jasminestar has met was Spirit, and so they stood in front of the young cat next. "Spirit, I know you're unsure about your future but there's also a curiousness in you. If it's alright I'd like to change your name entirely. Until you gain your warrior name I'd like to call you Lightpaw, for all that's shining inside and waiting to come out." Next were all the cats that had come in while they were gone. The leader took a moment to talk to them about their feelings about names. They started with the small kit who had been so fascinated by clan life. "Bumble, you're old enough to have a mentor and learn what it means to be a warrior. Until that day you will be known as Bumblepaw, and I hope you enjoy your life with us." "I understand you're a little worried about living in the forest, but I hope you'll grow comfortable with us soon Shrike. You're also a protector of someone and I'd like to name you Shrikeclaw." "Xena you've already shown that you have the energy to serve the clan. Until you're old enough you will be known as Sparkpaw." The large cat paused as they stepped in front of a black and white cat. Addressing her still felt surreal. Even being different cats and not looking alike they always thought of the distant grandmother they never knew. "Juniper, you too traveled a long way from another clan. I hope this one will become like a home to you, and I hope that you'll accept the name Juniperfoot." "Flora, I have no idea what you've been through but I hope the clan helps. If you'll stay with us, I hope you'll accept the name Blossomtail." Last were two cats who sat a little ways from the rest of the group. Intrigued, Jasminestar padded up to them. "And the two of you?" Having made some decisions, the younger of the two spoke up, "I'm Mothpaw ma'am, I'd like to join your group. This is Soot he said he'd stay as long your names weren't bad." The fluffy cat purred in amusement at the young one's boldness before both of them looked at the black tom. "Well, how'd I do naming my clanmates Soot?"

(Sparkpaw! I love it.)
Shrikeclaw. The newly-named warrior turned the name over in his mind and decided he liked it. As Jasminestar moved on, Xena - Sparkpaw - bounced up and down in delight.
"We're real clan cats now!" she whispered.
He purred, licking her ear fondly. "That we are."

(I'm honestly squealing right now. That was amazing.)
Tawnyfur curled her tail around her paws, her eyes lit up with happiness. She was finally part of the Clan, in both spirit and name. She was a Clan cat now - not a rogue running from her past, nor the daughter of a kittypet and a murderer, the sister of a coward. She had a new life now - a new life for her kits. And herself.
Lightpaw paused for a moment, considering her new name. She... Liked it. A lot. Lightpaw. It was an apprentice name, signalling the training that she still had to do. But it was strong, yet reflecting her path in life. She looked back at her scarred leg, before looking back up, eyes forward. One day, the world would learn that light doesn't necessarily mean perfect - and she'd be the one to prove it.
Squirrelleaf felt a purr rumble in his throat as he received his new name. Azael would approve of it if the other tom was present - he knew that. He wondered what name his brother would have gained if he was there. The tom quickly shook off the thought, though. He was a proper Clan cat now. He couldn't go around thinking of his kin all the time.
Eaglestep's chest puffed out proudly as he received his new warrior name. He'd been waiting for this moment ever since he had been a tiny little kid, curled up next to his mother. Yes, it was slightly anticlimactic compared to the complicated ceremonies he'd witnessed as a kit, but at least he had his full name now. He had earned his right to be a warrior, and now? He was a full warrior of SnakeClan.

((Ah, I love it ^^ Since Cobweb is definitely in as Med Cat Apprentice, would either of you mind if Lilyfern announced his name? Also Mimi and Oliver both have the same bright green eyes As to the Discord Roleplay, It would depend on the usual things - Plot mainly, but with number of Clans, requirements as to length/literacy and number of people currently in it.))
Doeshine and Foxwhisper
Mimi purred as Jasminestar addressed her, eyes shining brightly. She leaned forward to lick the Leader's shoulder as expected and stepped back feeling exactly the same and yet so different. She was Doeshine now and the name was warm and welcoming in her thoughts. She watched with pride as her sweet boy went through the same thing, ducking his head shyly as his tongue darted out to quickly groom over Jasminestar's shoulder. Foxwhisper puffed up slightly, sitting straighter as he grinned over at her, those green eyes so much like her own glistening with emotion.
Shadowfrost
Shadowfrost chuckled as Jasminestar moved on to the next cat and turned to look down at the newly named Tawnyfur. He saw the excitement ,the happiness in her face and what looked like relief. She had more than one battle-scarred old tom protecting her now, but somehow he knew she wasn't going to cast him aside. "Congratulations Tawnyfur," He rumbled quietly, pressing his shoulder to hers, "We're SnakeClan cats now. Both of us." He was surprised to find himself happy as well. It had been so long without others he had almost forgotten the warmth of family. A deep purr rumbled in his chest as he watch the rest of the Camp receive their new names.
Lilyfern
Seeing Jasminestar look their way and turn towards Berry, Lilyfern took it as the opportunity it was. "It's very nice to meet you Cobweb," She purred, looking at the mostly full-grown tom who was taller than she was, thought that wasn't saying much. She tilted her head, listening attentively as he stumbled his way through his question. Her heart softened, charmed by the sweet tom's shy nature. "Well now,let's see," She hummed,thinking it over, "As a matter of fact, Medicine Cats do take Apprentices as well, though from what Jasminestar has told me, their training tends to last a bit longer than a Warrior's because there's so much to learn." She ducked her head, fake-whispering as if she was imparting a deep secret. "See, I'm a kittypet through and through. Can barely even catch myself a mouse to eat, never mind something bigger. But, like you, I've always had an interest in herbs and flowers."
Sitting up, Lilyfern subsided into thought. She hadn't been expecting to take an Apprentice yet. After all, what she knew was nothing compared to what she would learn over the next few seasons. Still... Nodding to herself, she squared her shoulders and looked Cobweb square in the eye. "I won't lie to you, I wasn't planning on an Apprentice yet. I know a fair bit about remedies, but I've still some learning to do," She explained gravely, tail flicking rhythmically, before perking up, "However, if you're willing to both learn from me and learn alongside me, I think an extra set of paws would be helpful. So, Cobweb, do you accept and if so, do you have an idea what you'd like to be called?"

((Ahhh I'm so glad you guys liked it, all the cats' reflections are making me tear up! Yes actually I was thinking about Lilyfern taking Cobweb's naming, so that'd be good.
Four clans, three people including myself, the rest is pretty much as casual as this because I'm running it and my friend will be on mobile so I don't want to overtax her. The plot is that the clans are in a forest that some scientists took cats from for experiments. Cats got powers and brought back to the forest. They put up a barrier to keep things out and redid their clans based on powers. From there the territories they picked ended up suspended in a season that matched each clan. Generations later cats with powers aren't a thing but the territories are still split and the veil has started to weaken to where other animals could get in. We have one plot point with the Dark Forest, but we'll be starting over to before they get brought in.
I'll make my next actual post once everyone's gotten a chance to reply.))

SOOT The grey tom hummed thoughtfully, his eyes scanning the gathered cats as he tried to recall their new names. "I think your naming skills could use some work," he stated, but his eyes twinkled with light mischief. He rose to his paws, drawing himself up to his full height. "I'm kidding, of course, I think you did pretty well. Myst- Mothpaw here seems to agree." Soot glanced sideways at the young tom, pausing for a moment. I suppose staying here might be nice, wouldn't have to defend it all on my own, he considered, his tail-tip twitching as he thought. Y'know what? Sod it, I think I'll stick around. "S'pose I were to stick around, what would you call me?" he asked, tilting his head with a half-smile on his face.
COBWEB The pale tom's eyes widened; he had not expected Lilyfern to actually agree. "I-I would be honoured to be your apprentice," he stammered, warmth bubbling in his chest. "I think...I think I'd like to be called Palepaw. Cobwebpaw seemed like a mouthful." For the first time since he'd arrived, Cobweb bounced where he stood, his blue eyes shining as he gazed up at Lilyfern - my mentor! "A kittypet who lived across the street from my box taught me a little about herbs," he admitted sheepishly, "she was really kind. She said her twoleg used some herbs to make twoleg medicine too. I don't know a lot, but I'll do my best!"
BLOSSOMTAIL Blossomtail. The more she repeated her new name over and over in her head, the more appealing it sounded to her. Although she would miss being Flora, her new name signified her place in this group of cats - in this Clan. It signified safety and security, and a warm nest for her kits with friendly faces surrounding them. "I would be honoured to accept this name," Blossomtail purred. She turned to Mimi and Oliver - Doeshine and Foxwhisper now - and moved a little closer to them. "It's a little strange, isn't it? Having a completely new name, I mean," she mewed, "but I suppose we'll all get used to it in time."
BUMBLEPAW Bumblepaw ran a happy little circle around Jasminestar before the silver-and-white cat moved on, a loud purr resonating in the back of her throat as she bounded between her new Clanmates. When the SnakeClan leader moved to Shrike and Xena, she stopped in her tracks and looked around, quickly spotting Shadow nearby. "Mister Shado- Shadowfrost! You were right! I'm Bumblepaw now!" she exclaimed delightedly, darting over to where the large black tom stood with Tawnyfur. She butted Shadowfrost's foreleg with her head once, giggling and waving her tail around excitedly, before dashing off to find Lightpaw. When she found her, she skidded to a clumsy halt in front of her, beaming broadly. "We're apprentices! We're gonna train together and be the best warriors!" She wriggled her hindquarters, dropping into a playful crouch.
PIKETOOTH "Thought you'd give me an older-sounding name," the elderly tom snorted, his dull amber eyes fond as he looked at Jasminestar, "definitely can't say I'm disappointed you didn't." At the mention of kits, Piketooth's eyes wandered to where the queens were sitting: Tawnyfur with Shadowfrost, and Doeshine with her son Foxwhisper and the new queen. "Aye, I'll keep the young'uns busy when they're here, don't you worry about that," he rasped, "you can count on me." He'd probably have some trouble remembering everybody's new names, especially those he'd yet to meet, but he figured it'd just be something he'd have to get used to. His attention was drawn briefly by the excitable young kit Jasminestar had called Bumblepaw, racing around like her tail was on fire. "Whoever ends up mentoring that one's gonna have their paws full," he commented with a chuckle, "but the Clan's gonna need cats like that. I think I'm a bit too old to have an apprentice, aren't I?"

Jasminestar & Mothpaw
Still grinning, Jasminestar flicked their tail. They liked these cats, very quick-witted. "Well let's see. I feel like Soot does fit you, and you were thinking of flying the coop so soon..so how about Sootwing?"
Mothpaw, enjoying his new name, shifted his hopeful gaze from one large cat to the other. He thought Sootwing sounded cool and hoped that his companion would too. It'd be a shame if he left such a great place where he'd have less trouble.

((Hmmm, I'd be interested I suppose. I'm not too fond of 'Dark Forest' Plotlines, but as it doesn't seem like the main focus, I'd be willing to give it a try ^^ Do you have an invite link?))
Doeshine and Foxwhisper
"Oh yes, it will definitely take a bit of getting used to," Doeshine replied, watching curiously as Jasminestar approached two cats she hadn't noticed before, "But I kind of like it. It makes it seem a bit more real. A bit more like we belong." Foxwhisper hummed in agreement, fluffing up his thick coat. He seemed to hesitate for a moment, before leaning forward. "Do you know when you'll have your kits?" He murmured, curiosity in his open face as he glanced shyly at Blossomtail's stomach. He was looking forward to his siblings being born and was actually a little jealous. As the only kit, he had his mother's attention to himself for quite a long time. But it was easily squashed by the thought of several litters of kits to play with. Perhaps he could even be the one to bring them their first piece of real prey.
Shadowfrost
A laugh rumbled from Shadowfrost's chest as the newly named Bumblepaw nuzzled against him before bounding away. "It's going to be something alright," He rasped, smiling warmly down at the young Queen who turned his life on it's head. "I don't think I've said it yet," He continued, rubbing his cheek against the top of her head, "But I am so glad it was my alley you ran to, Tawnyfur. I'm glad that we both have this now. I'm getting on in years, you know. It wouldn't be much to a kittypet, but on the streets? I probably didn't have too many seasons left in me." Sadness and happiness mingled in his voice as he spoke of his likely imminent fate if he had stayed where he was, but he smile was grateful as he pulled back to beam at her. "You've changed that," He purred, "Because of you, I have a chance to grow old with kits climbing over me. Telling stories an passing on what I know to others who'll use it to protect each other. Thank you, Tawnyfur."
Lilyfern
"I think we have an agreement then," Lilyfern purred, leaning forward and pressing her nose gently to Cobweb's forehead, "I think you and I will get along very well indeed. We will work hard together and learn what we can to care for our new Clanmates." Standing, the Medicine Cat motioned for Cobweb to follow and she approached Jasminestar, waiting patiently until the Leader had finished speaking with the newest arrivals.

Juniperfoot thought long and hard about her new name. It was bittersweet in her mind. It would be a reminder of her incredibly difficult journey, like a piece of her past. But she also hated to think that her old identity would be thrown away. She'd never be called Ravenmask as she had been called back in Morningclan. Juniper had said nothing to Jasminestar but nodded her head gratefully.

SOOT The grey tom thought for a moment, testing out the name on his tongue. It sounded pretty good, but he wasn't so keen on being named after his uncertainty to stay in the Clan, to tell the truth. "Not bad," he hummed after a while, "but, uh, maybe something a little fiercer? Running away honestly isn't something I do often, I promise." Soot wracked his brain for any ideas he might have tucked away. He tried to recall some of the names that Jasminestar had given to the other cats in the clearing, and the words they'd had on the ends of them. The old tom, Piketooth, popped into mind at first, which Soot thought to be a little strange. Tooth...I kinda like that, but Soottooth sounds absolutely awful. Sootbite? Nah, sounds funy. What about...Sootfang? Sootfang sounds pretty good. "How's about Sootfang? Name me after my charming smile," he suggested, flashing said toothy grin at Jasminestar.
BLOSSOMTAIL Blossomtail nodded along with a soft purr. "Yes, it feels nice to be a part of a community like this one," she agreed, twitching her whiskers warmly. At Foxwhisper's question she was a little bit taken aback, but only because she herself wasn't too sure how far along she was - she hadn't paid that much thought, if she was to be quite honest. "Soon, I hope," she mewed, "although they'll still be a little while. I'm not sure how long I spent out in the forest." She noticed that the ginger-furred tom appeared shy, and she purred - Foxwhisper was a very sweet young tom, very much like his mother. "I assume they'll come a bit later than your little brothers and sisters, but not too long after."
COBWEB Cobweb let out a small gasp as Lilyfern's nose touched his forehead, and when she pulled away he beamed up at her. "I'm really excited to learn more about herbs," he confessed shyly, one dark grey ear flopping against his head. He followed Lilyfern obediently when she moved away towards Jasminestar, sticking close to the bengal she-cat's flank.
BUMBLEPAW The little tabby frowned in thought, scanning the camp briefly. "I guess Jasminestar will choose soon," she mewed thoughtfully, "but I can't wait to start training! Do you think we'll learn cool fighting moves?" Bumblepaw's eyes were bright as she turned back to Lightpaw - she could hardly wait to experience all the new, interesting things that being a Clan apprentice would entail.

(( Other "totally amazing" roleplayIf anyone else wants to take a look feel free. If you decide to join then just grab the form and throw a cat in whichever clan, I trust any of you to make a cat I'd approve of.)) JasminestarTilting their head as they pretended to think it over, Jasminestar nodded. "It's almost as charming as mine, so why not? Welcome to the clan Sootfang, Mothpaw." They dipped their head to the two cats before turning to head back to the root. Though instead they almost ran into Lilyfern. The leader looked from their friend to the young cat with her. "Has he made a decision?" MothpawFur on end, Mothpaw stood and nudged his friend. He was excited that the older tom wasn't leaving, but that didn't mean he was gonna cut back the teasing. "Sootfang huh, trying to make yourself seem tough?"

Doeshine and Foxwhisper
Doeshine chuckled, fur fluffing up as it was interrupted with a yawn. "Emiko - I mean Lilyfern, will probably want to check you over as she did Tawnyfur and myself," The Queen purred as Foxwhisper peeked at the newly named Shrikeclaw from around his mother. Doeshine nudged him and tilted her head. The tom huffed,but subsided at her stern look, creeping out from behind her and padding over to where the cream tabby sat with his sister. Doeshine shook her head and turned back to Blossomtail, continuing where she left of, "However, that will probably be tomorrow after we get some rest. She should also be able to tell you how many you'll be having - Apparently I'm having three and Tawnyfur is having four, so your kits will definitely have quite a few playmates growing up."
Shadowfrost
"That rat will get nowhere near you or your kits," Shadowfrost snarled, stretching out, "This Clan will be a new start for both of us." He glanced at the sky, huffing slightly in disbelief at how fast the day seemed to have gone. Chuckling he nudged Tawnyfur gently and continued, "And I think dearly of you as well. I cannot see how your kits could be anything except wonderful with such a fine mother. I will watch over them closely and perhaps Jasminestar will even give me the honour of Mentoring one of them."
Lilyfern
Lilyfern straightened and nodded to Jasminestar, sparing a brief smile for the newly named Sootfang. "He has indeed," She said, before stepping back to stand beside Cobweb, smiling down at him. Draping her tail over his shoulders, she turned back to Jasminestar and pitched her voice slightly louder. "Jasminestar, Cobweb has come to me looking to follow the path of a Medicine Cat," Lilyfern meowed seriously, "I believe he shows great promise and so have agreed to Mentor him. Now, I would like to introduce you to my new Apprentice, Palepaw. At the next Half-Moon, I shall present him to StarClan and have no doubt they shall be as impressed with him as I am." She gently nudged Palepaw forward for Jasminestar to acknowledge their acceptance of Lilyfern's decision.

Jasminestar
With a purr the fluffy cat nodded. "I trust your judgement and welcome Palepaw as a future medicine cat. Now if you'll excuse me I have a few more exciting matters of business." As they passed Palepaw on their way back to the root, they pressed their nose against the top of his head and whispered, "You'll be great." Not waiting for a response they finished the small trek and jumped to the root.
"With everyone properly named I'd like to first say, Welcome to SnakeClan!" they cheered. The way the clan's name felt now that is was official was exhilarating. "Our final new cat, Palepaw, will be training with Lilyfern to learn the ways of the medicine cat." Their green eyes landed on one small black and white cat. "Juniperfoot, you once walked this path as well. And though you now live as a warrior, I'm sure your guidance and knowledge would be appreciated." They'd felt a twinge of sorrow the day they found Juniper injured and alone. Even though this wouldn't be the same, Jasminestar thought this was the best that could be done with StarClan having chose Emiko before the group had met.
"Lightpaw, Sparkpaw and Bumblepaw, please step forward." Even though they weren't sure of who would be Sparkpaw's mentor, the other two cats (and Mothpaw) Jasminestar already had perfect mentors picked out. While waiting for the apprentices, Jasminestar scanned the crowd. Piketooth had mentioned apprentices, but did that mean he'd want one before he retired? Would he even be able to keep up with the peppy kit? Or perhaps their deputy should have the responsibility. Under normal circumstances one would have an apprentice before being brought into the position after all. Yes perhaps that would be best.

(RIP Shadowfrost)
Sparkpaw bounded forward, trying not to bounce in place as her eyes darted between Lightpaw and Bumblepaw. They had found a family - a place to be safe and free and happy, where Shrikeclaw didn't have to keep looking over his shoulder.
It was going to be great. She could tell.

(Blossomtail's having three as well according to my random number generator khdkdngkdfg the Clan is going to have so many kits)
SOOTFANG Sootfang snorted, baring his teeth in mock hostility as he nudged Mothpaw with his shoulder. "I am tough," he retorted, "sounds pretty cool though, eh?" He watched Mothpaw carefully for a moment, then looked over at the other three young cats who had also been named apprentices. The white she-cat, Lightpaw, seemed fairly level-headed and quite mature for her age, and while he hadn't necessarily gotten a reading on Sparkpaw yet, she appeared to be reasonably collected too, if a little on the excitable side. Bumblepaw, however, had more energy than half the Clan combined and he didn't think she'd stopped running around and moving since he'd arrived. "Reckon you'll get a decent mentor?" A part of him might've dared to hope that he would be given the young tom as an apprentice; although they'd only known each other for a day Sootfang already liked Mothpaw, and he was the only cat here who knew about his claw situation. Jasminestar knows best, I guess, so I'm just going to have to see what happens - they'll probably want cats they've known longer to mentor the apprentices.
BUMBLEPAW Bumblepaw bounded forward immediately, her eyes as round as moons as she gazed up at Jasminestar. Maybe they'd be getting their mentors now? She hoped so - she couldn't wait to start training. She glanced at Sparkpaw and Lightpaw, and was glad to see that they appeared just as excited as she was. She wondered who her mentor would be: maybe Shadowfrost? She really liked the large black-furred tom. It could be Eaglestep too, or Lionfire or anybody, really.
PALEPAW "I'll try my best!" The newly-named Palepaw's eyes flashed with determination as he made brief eye contact with Jasminestar. When Jasminestar climbed the root again, he turned to Lilyfern. "Will I really get to meet StarClan?" he questioned, a little star-struck by the mere thought of getting to converse with the ancestors of SnakeClan, "Like, is that a thing medicine cats can really do?" He'd be lying if he said he wasn't absolutely ecstatic to fully settle into his new role as Lilyfern's apprentice; he felt needed for a change.
BLOSSOMTAIL Blossomtail too noticed Foxwhisper peering around his mother at the cream tabby tom she had seen earlier - Shrikeclaw, if she was not mistaken. She watched for a moment as Foxwhisper padded over to Shrikeclaw and turned to Doeshine, a knowing glint in her eye, although she chose to say nothing on the matter. "That's seven already between just the two of you?" She was admittedly a little shocked, but moreso very pleased by this news. Her kits would be the youngest of them all, she realised, as Tawnyfur looked incredibly close to kitting and Doeshine appeared to be rather further along than she was. She was keen to consult Lilyfern about her kits, but from where she could see the SnakeClan medicine cat with her new apprentice, the tall and spindly young tom from the twolegplace, she had a feeling they'd both already have their paws full.

(I forgot about my own darned cat and def went into some form of hysterics when I realized it from owlspots's post. I'm dead from laughing.))
Mothpaw with Sootfang
Geniuinely smiling back, Mothpaw replied, "Yeah, of course it is. You picked it." The young tom was just starting to consider how much better life was going to be when Jasminestar called all the other 'paws to the front. When Sootfang mentioned it, Mothpaw crouched a little. "I wasn't called with the others, do you think I'm getting a mentor at all?"
Jasminestar
With the three closest apprentices at the base of the root, Jasminestar made their way back down again. They stood with Sparkpaw first as they spoke. "Sparkpaw, you will be mentored by Eagelstep," the gently nudged the diluted cat towards the soon-to-be deputy. "He has shown bravery and should have the energy to match you, and I know he will pass on what he knows of the forest to you." In a whisper they told the two that now they would touch noses. Then they moved to the next cat in line, pointing the shyest apprentice in the direction of the shyest warrior. "I know Foxwhisper has only lived without the Twolegs for two moons, but I also know he's protective and patient. For this I would like for him to mentor Lightpaw."
"And Bumblepaw," Jasminestar started as they directed the apprentice over to one dark tom. "I would like Shadowfrost to mentor you. He's survived on his own, and I'm sure he could teach you the hunting skills you'll need without shredding any ears."
Lastly, the leader walked back to the newest pair of cats. Their green eyes held Mothpaw's wide gaze. "Sorry, didn't want you to have to walk back and forth," they whispered before putting their stage voice back on. "Mothpaw, the few moments I've spent with you have shown me a deep connection with Sootfang. He seems like a seems like a strong cat who could help you learn defense."
Excited that he hadn't been forgotten and he'd get to learn from Sootfang, Mothpaw moved to touch his nose with the bigger tom's.
By then, Jasminestar was once more on their root. "And now we cheer for all the apprentices. Palepaw! Sparkpaw! Lightpaw! Bumblepaw! Mothpaw!" After the cheering was done, there was still one more important matter of business. "And finally, I say these next words before StarClan so that they may hear and approve my choice, the first deputy of SnakeClan will be Eaglestep. His council has helped me before, and I hope that it will continue to help us all in the future."
Berrystorm
Everything had been so exciting. Getting her new name, watching the apprentices get mentors, and then the naming of the first SnakeClan deputy. It was too much for Berrystorm. She couldn't hold in her enthusiasm any longer and let it out in the form of cheering for her friend. "Eaglestep! Eaglestep!"

Sparkpaw was vibrating with delight when her new mentor was named the clan deputy - that sounded important. "Eaglestep! Eaglestep!"
Shrikeclaw purred, raising his voice to join the others. "Eaglestep! Eaglestep!"

BUMBLEPAW "Mister Shadow! Shadowfrost!" Bumblepaw gasped delightedly, whipping around to face the large black tom, "I'll be the best apprentice, like I said in the forest!" She bounded towards Shadowfrost, skidding to a halt in the grass right in front of him, her neck craned upwards as she beamed at the dark-furred warrior. "I promise I'll work really hard, I'll do whatever you say and I'll be as big and strong as you!" Her eyes shone as she stared determinedly up at him, her rapidly scuffling paws practically vibrating her entire body.
SOOTFANG Sootfang was more than a little taken aback by Jasminestar's announcement. He would get to mentor Mothpaw? Who knew, huh? "Well, looks like you got the best mentor of 'em all," he chuckled, exchanging a glance with his new apprentice. He touched his nose to Mothpaw's, his green gaze warm as it locked with the young tom's. "I s'pose we can learn together," he offered with a grin as he pulled away, "but any slacking and I'll have your ears." He flicked Mothpaw's flank with the tip of his tail to let him know he was only teasing. His decision to remain with SnakeClan was looking more and more like the better one.
PIKETOOTH The old tom's raspy voice joined the tumultuous cheers of the Clan in congratulating the apprentices and their new deputy. Eaglestep was a fine cat, and in the short time that Piketooth had known him he already greatly respected the tom; he doubted there'd be a better candidate to help lead SnakeClan. He admittedly was a little relieved to have not been given an apprentice - SnakeClan's first batch looked far too lively for him to keep up with, and his joints were beginning to ache. He would likely be far too old to be considered as a mentor by the time Tawnyfur's kits were old enough to be apprenticed, but that was fine by him.

Lightpaw listened closely as her mentor was announced. Foxwhisper. That was good - she trusted him. Foxwhisper had helped her over the Thunderpath on the way to the forest, and he'd made sure that she was safe. Plus, their personalities matched well. She smiled softly as Eaglestep's deputyship was announced, joining the crowds of cheering.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eaglestep's jaw dropped slightly as he was announced as the deputy. He had an apprentice, and he was the deputy? No. That... He couldn't have been the right choice. He was far from the best choice. He... He couldn't be the deputy. He looked from the crowds of cats, all cheering his name, over to Jasminestar. He was frozen with a mixture of shock and pride, and he glanced up at the sky, staring up to where his parents and sisters were in StarClan. Can you see me now? Squirrelstep? Redhawk? Mossykit? Silverkit? Can you see me now? ... Are you proud of me?
Doeshine
Doeshine laughed quietly, nodding her head. "Yes, though three's going to be a bit of a pawful for me after only having Oliver in my first litter," She mrrowed, amused. She paused and shook her head. "Foxwhisper, I mean," She sighed, eyes warm as she looked at where her son had been diverted from his task by Jasminestar. It was going to be incredibly difficult to remember to call him Foxwhisper after calling his Oliver for so long. Shaking her head, she smiled at Blossomtail. "Is this is your first litter?" She asked politely. While Blossomtail looked quite young, she was definitely old enough to have had another.
Foxwhisper
Foxwhisper pushed down the clawing he could feel making it's way up his throat as he padded towards Shrikeclaw. Going over what he would say in his head, he froze in his tracks as his name came in Jasminestar's voice. Wide-eyed he listened as he was given Lightpaw to Mentor, panic and pride warring in his chest. Eventually he shook it off and changed direction to pad up to his new Apprentice, smiling shyly down at her. "I'll try my very best to do well in teaching you," He murmured quietly, reaching his nose towards her so she wouldn't have to move to touch noses with him as tradition said they should.
Shadowfrost
"Ouch," Shadowfrost meowed, teasingly leaning away from Tawnyfur, "With how fierce you sound, Smog wouldn't stand a chance." His next sentence was interrupted by his name being called and a ball of energy bouncing up to him. He chuckled through the purr that started in his chest, leaning down to press his nose to Bumblepaw's. "Easy, little explorer," He rumbled fondly, scuffing a paw over her head, "I have no doubt you'll learn fast. You've definitely got energy and enthusiasm to spare. We'll start tomorrow with learning the territory together and trying to sniff out some food for our new Clanmates, how does that sound?"
Lilyfern
Lilyfern hummed an affirmation as she watched the other Apprentices gain their Mentors. "Oh yes," She chirped, smiling down at Palepaw, "From what Jasminestar has told me about Clan life, we'll go to visit StarClan at every Half-Moon." She paused, considering their circumstances. "Actually," She continued thoughtfully, "We may need to go a little more often, so long as everything is calm in Camp. StarClan has indicated a willingness to teach me the gaps in my knowledge, an offer that will no doubt be extended to you. Of course, we probably won't be able to go until at least Tawnyfur's kits are born, she's very close." Lilyfern shook her head in amusement. "If Blossomtail is agreeable," She mewed, tail curling around her paws, "Then tomorrow we will begin by showing you how to tell how many kits a she-cat will be having." Perking up, she called out Eaglestep's name with the rest of the Clan, cheering their new Deputy.
((That sounds good Sparkly. I'd imagine it's about dusk now probably? Ahhhh can't wait for the first set of kits!)) Jasminestar with Piketooth"And now that we're all officially SnakeClan cats, we celebrate!" Jasminestar yowled. After a few words to Berrystorm, the tiny cat dashed to the new fresh-kill pile with Badgerheart following. The two came back with as much as they could carry and began to pass the food around. As cats went about their new lives, the leader slipped over to the clan's oldest cat. "Piketooth, I have a special mission for you," they whispered, eyes darting to make sure no one else was close enough to hear. "I'd like you to help Pearlfang. She's older so I didn't think it'd be fair to make her an apprentice, but Sho-Lionfire has told me before that she's been pretty sheltered in her Twoleg den." Mothpaw with Sootfang"Hey now, and here the leader was hoping apprentices would keep their ears," the gray and white tom mrrowed. He raised a paw up at Sootfang, batting at the air in front of the older cat's chest for a moment before stopping to laugh. "I think you'll do fine, for what it's worth," he offered once he calmed down. "Should we go meet our clanmates now, or eat this squirrel that got put in front of us first?" He'd never been to a party, he wasn't sure what the etiquette was here. Lionfire with EaglestepWith the ceremony over, Lionfire -definitely proud of his new name- made his way over to Eaglestep. "Hey, deputy huh? Must be scary," he mrrowed. He was happy for the obviously shocked tom, from the little bit of time they'd spent in the patrol he seemed like a cat with a good head on his shoulders. As he chatted, he let his eyes roam the cats. Had to be able to keep up with all the future gossip. Badgerheart with JuniperfootWith one last squirrel, Badgerheart padded over to Juniperfoot. He placed the prey at the she-cat's paws and dipped his head. "Enjoy," he meowed quietly before taking a step back. That had definitely been the easy part, but now that the food had been distributed what was he supposed to do? In his old group there'd been cats who decided everything or had let him be. There weren't celebrations for anything, no need to be social unless there was just a cat who really wanted to talk to you..usually for some need of their own.
Pearlfang with Squirrelleaf Patched fur fluffed out in self-made terror, Pearlfang found herself picking up the bird at her paws and padded slowly to the cat she'd spent her day with. After dropping the bird to the ground she looked up and hoped she could form a coherent sentence. "So, Squirrelleaf, that's a good bird. Want to share this name?" Abort mission, her mind screeched. BerrystormHaving slipped prey here and there, bigger animals in front of bigger groups of cats and mice in front of a few singular cats, Berrystorm sat back with a mouse of her own. While the ginger had been working she wasn't sure she'd be able to eat due to excitement, but now there was a tiny pang of hunger starting to poke at her. Lounging near enough to be apart of the group, she started to pick at the mouse while keeping her ears up in case anyone wanted to talk.
(I have names and appearances all lined up, LOL. Four tiny little kittens!!! Ahh!!!
BTW, Cloudheart, would you like me to sort out some new allegiances with warrior names, ranks, etc? I know that you're pretty busy, so I could sort something out for you to just copy-paste in.)
Eaglestep looked up at Lionfire, nodding nervously. "Yeah... I'm pretty nervous," He admitted. "My father was the deputy back in my old Clan, and he was always really busy. The role is... a hard one. I'm supposed to be partially responsible for the Clan, alongside Jasminestar," He explained. "Plus, I have an apprentice, too. I'm gonna be so busy, aren't I?" He laughed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Squirrelleaf glanced down at Pearlfang as she spoke. He smiled at her fumbled sentence, and sat down, purring at her expression. "Don't worry, I know what you mean," He purred. "And sure, I'd love to share with you." He enjoyed Pearlfang's company - despite her... slight difficulties with warrior duties, she meant well, and was a good cat.

BLOSSOMTAIL Blossomtail nodded, her chest warming at the mention of her kits. "Yes, this is my first litter," she admitted almost shyly, "I'm a little nervous, truth be told." She was glad to now have the company of a more experienced queen who had already had one litter. The father of her kits...well, she didn't really know where he was. He had been rather nice while she'd known him - a kittypet from the twolegplace named Harvey. They'd been mates for only a short while before Flora had announced her pregnancy and he had just...left. He never returned to their meeting place and when she visited his nest he was never there. "I'm hoping for a small one, perhaps one or two kits, but I wouldn't be opposed to having more."
SOOTFANG Glancing quizzically down at the squirrel by their paws, Sootfang shrugged. "Maybe we should eat first? They gave it to us for a reason," he mewed, already lowering his head to take a bite. He was absolutely starving; he hadn't realised just how hungry he was considering he'd been so preoccupied with this whole situation. It felt like moons since he'd last had a proper meal, even though he was fairly certain he'd eaten pretty well the day prior. "At least we won't go hungry out here," he joked, voice muffled by his mouthful of prey.
PIKETOOTH The old tom raised his brow as Jasminestar approached him. "A special mission for me, huh? Sounds exciting," he rasped, a low purr rumbling in his throat. He listened carefully with pricked ears as Jasminestar spoke. He didn't recall getting to know Pearlfang beyond a friendly introduction when she'd first arrived at camp, but the young she-cat seemed sweet, and her obvious fondness for Squirrelleaf was endearing. Piketooth was admittedly surprised that Jasminestar would task him with ensuring that the young warrior grew used to her new duties and the life of a Clan cat, but he was more than honoured to be given the job of looking out for Pearlfang. "Leave it to me, boss," he purred, pushing himself to his paws. He'd talk to Pearlfang after she and Squirrelleaf had finished eating, he decided.
BUMBLEPAW "Okay!" she chirruped her agreement, puffing out her chest importantly. She turned her wide gaze from Shadowfrost to Tawnyfur, and tilted her head curiously at the queen. "Are your kits going to be born soon?" She peered at Tawnyfur's swollen stomach with intrigue. "Will I be able to play with them? I can teach them some of the stuff that Shadowfrost teaches me, when they're bigger!" she offered eagerly, her paws kneading the ground with excitement.
PALEPAW Palepaw listened intently, wonder-struck by the thought of being able to meet such important cats - in the afterlife, too! Being a medicine cat was shaping up to be even more fascinating and complicated than he'd imagined. "Will they talk to us in dreams and stuff, if we can't go to visit them?" he questioned, his blue eyes as round as moons as he finished processing what Lilyfern had just told him. At the mention of Blossomtail, Palepaw glanced briefly over at the she-cat where she sat conversing with Doeshine. "Do we help the queens with their kittings, too?" He wasn't too fond of blood, or seeing cats in pain, but the thought of helping deliver kits into the world made him more excited than he would've thought.
(That reminds me, I'm going to figure out what Blossomtail's kits will look like, and start pulling together a couple of characters who'll be in league with Ghost and the rogues for when we use that plot!)
