Silver Spoon, and Arslan Senki are two other things she's done that I've personally seen. Silver Spoon is one of my all time favorite slice of life anime!! Tho, based on what you said before, Arslan Senki might be more your vibes.

Arslan Senki does look interesting! I'll have to add it to my ever-growing watchlist. spoilers for FMA:B So I watched The Dog episode today. Judging by the comments, it apparently has a bigger reputation than I thought. Not sure it lived up to that reputation, though? I mean, sure, it was creepy, but not any creepier than two kids trying to resurrect their dead mother and mutilating themselves in the process. I was not expecting it be episode four, though!
Maybe it didn't hit me as hard because I already knew it was going to happen. plus the dog looked more like a horse than a dog im sorry spoilers for RWBYIn a similar vein, some doucheburger spoiled Pyhrra's death for me, so I already knew that was coming, yet it still filled me with a sense of inevitable dread, whereas FMA just filled me with "uh wtf." Also, Yang losing her arm to protect Blake hit me pretty hard. The Season 3 finale was really entertaining!! It feels like I'm watching a totally different show from S1. Wasn't expecting such a drastic change in direction but I'm honestly onboard with it!
Although... I originally started watching RWBY as a lighthearted anime to offset Code Geass and more recently FMA... so I guess that's out of the equation now. x] |

I think you have the right idea that it doesn't hit as hard if you know about it akdjfa;kdjfadjf Watching it for the first time with absolutely no expectations was a wild experience. Cause the episode was relatively fluffy until that point. The reveal of who his past chimera was was also pretty creepy.
I know you're not super far yet, but do you have any favorites so far? I love and adore both Ed and Al to this day, they're really well written. Though if I had to choose an all time favorite from the show it would be Riza %100

spoilers for FMABOoh, for sure! Going in blind would've been a lot worse! And don't get me wrong, it was still disturbing. I'm still digesting it. Will probably skip it if I ever rewatch.
I just don't feel that, compared to what we've already seen by this point, it was all that bad. It does make me wary about what's to come, though... So far I'm really liking Ed! Every time he flies into a rage because somebody mistakes him for being younger than he is or points out his height I feel it on spiritual level. I also really like the Colonel with the black hair and the blue eyes? I didn't catch his name. He seems chill and I like his design.

Complete and utter rookie here. I've never watched any anime before, although I would be open to giving any fantasy themed anime a try. Trouble is, I wouldn't know where to start.

Cool! I'll have a look at Cruncyroll first. Do you know if any of the anime you've mentioned is on there? I hope that the subscription for Crunchyroll will be reasonable. My wallet is already hurting as is. xD I keep on trying to save above $2,500, my bare minimum I like to have lying around, but it always ends up a few hundred below that haha. |

Just get adblock and you won't have to subscribe XD Crunchyroll should have all the ones I mentioned. I don't use it often so I can't say for sure, but they're all popular enough to get on it haha

Sounds good! By the way, the Crunchyroll Fan Subscription says it removes ads and "provides the full catalogue to anime". Does the latter part really mean anything meaningful? Just checking! (:

The latter part basically means you'll have access to anime episodes currently airing. Anything that's already completed shouldn't be behind a paywall. All the anime I suggested are finished so you shouldn't have any issues! :]

Oof, that's a shame. S1 of RWBY is... really rough. It's a struggle to get through, but the animation makes a huge jump in quality by S2 and the story really gets going in S3! Even if you don't watch it now, I'd definitely give it another chance.
Just starting episode 7 of FMA:B! I've been watching while refreshing this page. cx
Sounds like a plan! I already have a small but growing watchlist.

I have like 60 Google Docs. I'm a mess.  I really recommend it! It isn't the most compelling story out there, but it's sweet and pleasant. I really recommend it, from what I remember of it! It's on Crunchyroll. Yeah same here, it's been so long I only remember a couple of scenes. Oh I should definitely be able to catch up then! I'm about to eat my lasagna, when I'm onto watching it! |

I just read the plot summary for Snow White. Oh brother. As a redhead, that strikes a little too close to home! People see me one time and they recognize me years later. (Honestly, the most unrealistic part of HZD was Aloy being able to go unrecognized in Shadow Kestrel Armor without hiding her hair lmao)
FMA:B is kind of a freak show. I'm surprised I've enjoyed it so much, considering I don't usually go for dark stories, but I'm loving the characters, animation, and music. Hope you have fun!

I just watched up until the end of the intro for FMA:B and I am already blown away. What absolutely stellar animation and storytelling during its presentation. I know I am going to be hooked. Now, back onto it!
Oof, that's going to be unnerving at times! I suppose I should be grateful I was born with the "generic" brown hair and eyes haha. (I know right! Surely the guards wouldn't have been informed of her general physical appearance? Like, hey, look for the girl with the red hair?)

I just realized the random English va shouting "FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST" halfway thru each episode is probably there because of a commercial break when the show originally aired on tv. Ugh. So immersion-breaking
