Arc had gotten tossed out again after another argument..
Pushed right out the front door and left to fall down the stairs. He'd scraped his nose and forehead on the pavement, and though it stung it was not enough to make him bleed. He'd learned by now to pick himself up without complaint and move on. He'd get back in the house in a few hours, he just had to wait it out. No one said he had to stay around here, though.
He began walking, choosing a direction at random and walking with his hands shoved in his pockets. It didn't feel like there was much else he could do.

Alayah gave a small smile, trying to come off as friendly. "Um, you can follow me to your room." she said, turning to head towards the stairs and looking back to make sure he was following. "So, how old are you again?" She asked, before getting quite unsure if that was the right first thing to ask. Becoming very nervous again, she subconsciously began twirling a piece of her platinum blond hair around one of her fingers as she headed up the stairs.

Aarow hesitated a bit before following after her.
"Sixteen." He replied shortly. He wasn't sure how much was appropriate to add. He still and a few months until his birthday, but the'd never actually found his birth certificate, so they'd just made up a birthday when they got all his official paper work done.
He couldn't help but to look around the house carefully as they walked. So far, he had learned to tell a bit about a family by the state of the house when he arrived. Tidy and clean, they were about good impressions. Messy and takeout boxes stacked by the door, probably just fostering for the compensation stipend... He was also watching for signs anyone else lived here, or any pets. Animals tended to recognize he didn't belong...

Once they reached the top of the stairs Alayah turned left, then headed for the first door. "Oh, cool, so am I." She said, then laughed quietly. "Well, as of two days ago, that is.". Once they reached the door to the bedroom she pushed it open, revealing a good-sized room bathed in sunlight from a back wall of windows. It was tidy and set up as a guest room, with a full bed against the wall with an armoire next to it, along with a closet door on the other wall. "So, we kinda didn't redecorate it yet, but you can change anything you want." While speaking she gestured to the beige and green floral bedsheets, thinking Aarow probably didn't have his own sheets. I could probably find something in my closet that's better. she though, making a note to look later. Looking back to Aarow, she smiled again before she headed back to the front of the room. "So I guess I'll let you get settled, but my room's the last one down the hall, if you want me to show you around later. Or now," she added the last after a pause, just incase he'd rather know his way around the house before anything else.

Aarow nodded quietly as they spoke. When she said he could redecorate the room, he couldn't help but become a little confused. He was so used to trying to keep any sign of his presence in a house at a minimum. His stays had always been temporary, some of the even cut shorter than they were meant to be. It was a bit of a shock to think he had his own space.
He set the bag down carefully on the bed, turning around when she moved over to the door. There wasn't much else he felt he needed to know, but it also felt weird to be sitting in the house by himself. "Could you please show me around?" He asked.

Alayah nodded quickly. "Of course! Let's go." She headed back into the hallway without waiting to see if he followed. "So that's my room," she told him, pointing to the last door in the hall. "The room next to it is the guest room, and then that room right next to your room is the bathroom. I have my own bathroom in my room, so that one's pretty much yours." She said, then looked down the hall in the other direction. "The room down there is my dad's room, and that's pretty much all that's up here.". She didn't know if he'd remember half of it, but she really wouldn't mind telling him again if he did forget. Plus, it's not like he really needs to know where anything up here is, since it's hard to confuse where dad's room is, and I wouldn't care that much if he accidentally opened my door.

Aarow gave a small nod, watching where she pointed. He kept silent, still very nervous and uncertain. What was he supped to do now? He stood quietly, his hands starting to pull at the ends of his shirt. He ducked his head a bit as he gave a small nod. "Thank you..."
He paused, starting to look around. The father had mentioned he had an office here. Was that part of his room or part of the first floor? With another nervous look to her, then back at the floor, he mumbled. "I'm sorry..."

Alayah was still smiling brightly, glad that he wasn't snobby or arrogant right off the bat. Maybe this will all be good.... She was about to head down the stairs when she heard him mumble something else, and turned back to look at him. "What was that?" She asked, trying to be polite but not wanting to make him feel uncomfortable that she couldn't hear him. She wasn't particularly shy herself, but she knew some people wouldn't talk any louder, whether you could hear them or not.
(Sorry this is short.)

(It's fine. i've passed the game to my boyfriend and I'm watching him play now.)
Aarow gave a small shake of his head. He wasn't sure if he wanted to repeat his meaningless apology or not. He hadn't really done anything to warrant it, but it was sort of a habit by this point. "It wasn't anything, sorry." There he went again.
"What about the first floor?" He asked in an effort to hide his apologies. He knew he should try to keep quiet to avoid slipping up. Clearly if he didn't speak much, he had a lower chance of messing up his words.

(Cool ^^)
Alayah smiled softly at him, shaking off wondering what he had said. "Yes, downstairs." She said, going back to the stairs. "So, you've seen this, the foyer." She said as they reached the bottom. "On that side is the parlor, a small sitting room. We use when guests who aren't family just come over for a bit. Don't get it dirty, my dad obsessively cleans it." As she spoke she gestured to room to the right of the door, then turned to the room on the left. "Here's our living room. You can hang out and watch tv in here whenever, and we've got no fancy rules like no eating in here, so don't worry." Walking through the living room, they came into a formal-looking dining room. "Here's the dining room. We eat all the meals here, and usually set the table kinda fancy when we can." She gave a slightly embarrassed smile, wondering if that sounded silly since it was only her and her dad. Walking out of the dining room to the right, there was a small hallway that led to the side of the house with an outside door at the end. Immediately after entering that hallway it connected to one across from the front door that led past the stairs. "This is the kitchen. You can usuall eat anything in the fridge or cupboards unless marked otherwise, and you can cook if you want, but only if you know how. Dad hates trying to turn off the smoke alarms." She giggled slightly as she remembered her own cooking attempts, before her father had started carefully supervising her during so. "And, last but not least," Alayah started as she headed towards the back door but turned down a hallway next to it. "Is the bathroom and laundry room. Bathroom is first, laundry room is second. I reccomend you don't do your own laundry, as my has like four different detergents in there for, like, different seasons or something." She was about to turn about when she quickly added, "Oh! And the last door is my dad's office. we just took some space from the laundry room last year to make it, and I keep forgetting it's there.".
(Sorry if this is really long I have a slight floor plan/house design obsession X3)

(X3 its fine~)
Aarow followed a few paces behind her, still torn between shyness and not wanting to be by himself. She seemed friendly so far, but how long would that last? At least when someone was outright about what they wanted, it made them easier to predict. He'd seen the 'nice' a few times already up to this point, but it never lasted longer than a few days. If she was genuine and without motive, perhaps there was hope for the father to be the same way? He'd just have to wait it out and see.
As they walked, he listened to her speak and nodded quietly each time he was introduced to a room. He had no idea how to do laundry and he definitely didn't know anything about cooking. As she finished speaking, he hesitated once again before speaking. "It's just you and your dad? No mom, siblings, or pets?" He asked quietly.

"Oh, I have a couple finches in my room, but other than that, no." Alayah said, kind of hoping he didn't press the matter but also glad he had started asking some questions. "Is there anything else you want to know?" She asked, though she figured she had covered most of the basics in her tour.

(Okie niiiight)
Finches? Like... birds? People kept those as pets? How...
That wasn't really his concern right now. "Is there a back yard?" He asked quietly. Not that he was going to be spending too much time outside, he just wanted to know if it was there, if there was a fence, or anything. He was still trying to get a feel for the house, and so far it felt empty with just two people living here. He didn't consider himself 'living here' just quite yet, and he still wasn't confident he ever would.

"Oh, yeah." Alayah said, turning to the back door. "Follow me.". Going or the door, she walked along the side of the house a few steps and out to the back, where a large yard was. It was mostly grass, but towards the back there were a few big trees spread out just enough that they made a nice shaded area. "It's still fences from when we had a dog, but dad never took it down because it's hard to tell where our yard ends without it." She told him, motioning to the white wooden fence that stretched the length of the yard, then crossed to the other side just after the trees. It was only about three feet tall, so you could still see the other houses and the large expanse of field behind all of them.

Aarow gave a small nod, looking out over the yard once he was outside. He listened to her speak in silence, starting to turn nervous as he realized he had nothing left to talk to her about. He wasn't certain what to do or how to excuse himself. She didn't seem like she'd be hard to be around, but he was still shy about being around someone he didn't know anything about. After almost a minute without words, he began to tug at the end of his shirt again. What was he supposed to do now?

Alayah didn't seem to notice the silence, looking over the yard for a moment before turning m back to Aarow. "So do you wanna unpack your stuff now or do something else?" She asked, now a bit reluctant to go back to being alone. Though she didn't usually find herself wishing she had someone else with her, once she did she always wanted it to last. He'll be here for at least another year, you can let him go for a bit. Despite telling herself this, she found herself anxiously twirling her long hair while she waited for him to answer.

"I should probably go unpack." Aarow replied quietly, backing up a few paces and going back inside the house. He double-checked the door didn't lock behind him or anything before heading across the first floor back to the stairs. His mind was still occupied with worries that this 'nice family' demeanor was just a front, or that it still wasn't permanent. At least he had a decent lay of the house now. Ayalah... Aya... Ayaha? His 'sister' had been helpful. He gave a small sigh, already a little embarrassed he couldn't quite remember how to pronounce her name. He could just wait it out... Wait until the father said her name....

Alayah nodded, waiting out in the yard for a moment while he headed back inside. It is a nice day out, maybe I should stay out here, she decided, running back into the house and grabbing her journal and a pencil out of the living. When she got back out side she ran to the back of the yard, easily climbing up into one of the trees and leaning against the trunk. As she flipped through her book to find a page, she couldn't help glancing up to the window that she knew was Aarow's. I hope he likes it here... a brief worry crossed over her face, but she quickly looked back into her journal to try and clear her thoughts.

Aarow made it up to his room and closed the door behind him. He went over to where he'd left the bag and he pulled it up onto the bed, opening it and begining to pull its contents out. Two pairs of pants, an extra shirt, a jacket, all of which he folded and set down off to the side. He reached his hand back into the bag and pulled out the next item, a small, wooden box. It wasn't painted, or even sanded to proper smoothness, so he was careful with it. He'd gotten splinters from handling it before. He hesitated a moment, looking back at the door. He got up, box still in hand, and locked the bedroom door just to be safe before opening the box. A photo and four post-it notes. He took the photo out and closed the box, not bothering to read the notes again. He'd just upset himself. He put the box with the clothes he'd removed and shoved the bag and the rest of what it held under the bed. He never unpacked everything in his first week of staying with a new family.
He picked up the clothes and the box, putting them in the dresser drawers with the box tucked under the clothing. The photo he placed in the nightstand drawer next to the bed. That was really all he had to unpack at this point. He wasn't sure if he should go back to the yard or not. He ended up choosing to sit on the bed quietly with the door still locked. It was tiring holding this form, and he greatly needed a break. He checked the curtains were drawn before letting the disguise melt away.
His brown hair became longer and pale. It wasn't quite the platinum blonde color the rest of the family seemed to have, but more of a silver tint. His skin lost any natural tone and became an empty, chalky white. His ears took a more pointed shape and the dark pupils of his eyes expanded to block any hint of color. His height and the shape of his face remained the same, as he wasn't exactly sure how to change these things when he was in disguise.

Alayah hadn't been out for long when she heard her phone chime. Pulling it out of her boot - where she kept it when she had no pockets - she saw a text from her father on the screen, saying dinner was ready and to bring Aarow of she was still with him. Giving a light sigh, she hopped out of the tree and headed back inside. Her father had already moved into the dining room to set the table, so she went unnoticed as she slipped through the kitchen and up the stairs to Aarow's room. Upon reaching it, she gave a couple of light knocks. "Dinner's ready," she called, though her house was always so quiet she couldn't bring her voice above its normal volume.

Aarow's heart almost stopped when he heard the knocks. Infinitely glad the door had been locked, he regained himself and restored his cover, not realizing he'd changed the tone of his hair ever so slightly closer to Alayah's. He got up and walked to the door, unlocking it and opening it. He hadn't really understood her through the door so he gave an apologetic look. "Sorry... What did you say?" He asked, a little uncertain if she'd mind repeating herself.
