Larkes looked down at the king and queen of the kingdom, noticing they were close to his age. How’d those two get to be rulers without a giant mechanical beast like Aldnoa? He shrugged off the topic and hopped off his dragon brother, reluctantly allowing him to leave and do his own thing. “Is there somewhere we can talk in private?”

( AshLightning I replied to the dragons on the last page if u want me to repost that bit?) Mysha snorted. "We will talk where I decide." She took a moment to walk a slow circle around Larkes, sizing him up. Hm. No powers that she could tell. Sensed no brand. Motioning for Beta and Drake to follow, she walked with Drake back inside the fort. "So, begin by telling us why you brought such information? How did you come across it?" Zeta looked up at Aldnoa, studying him. The dragon was entirely robotic. Zeta was too, in a way, but with no electronics whatsoever. Sighing softly, his gears clicked as he asked "Someone must've brought this to your knowledge. A whisper perhaps? Or did you go seeking such tales out yourselves?"

Pyre and Scaws each tried to do the same as their big sister, though Scaws hid behind Xandrite a little. Pyre smiled at the group and his tail waved a little. “Hi!” He said happily.
Drake held his wife’s hand as they walked onward ahead of Larkes. As Mysha started asking questions, Larkes immediately answered. “We’ve come across many books mentioning this place and its history. Including its... less friendly attitude towards dragon’s. Numerous people have also traveled as far as our kingdom and have told us about the change in attitude, as well as change in leadership, and then also started speaking of the whole trap-hole thing.”

One if the dragons, with orange scales and blue eyes, looked over at them. Looking them up and down, he said "Never seen you here before." Xandrite said "We're Ma'ait and Shard's hatchlings." She smiled as the group looked curious. As Xandrite immediately began talking with the others, a little red dragon showed up by Pyre. "You got special powers?" the little male asked, poking Pyre and looking at Scaws. "I hear your papa is darkness and your mama can be whatever she wants."
Mysha merely hummed in acknowledgement of Larkes, watching as Ligach pulled up. The hound sniffed at Larkes before catching up with her, and she said "I really don't understand why you are here. The trap is self-sustaining, and there is no known way to undo or permanently seal it. What could you possibly want to do? Look at it?" They eventually reached a sort of meeting room, Beta closing the door once they were all inside.

Pyre sniffed bye other dragon in friendly dragon and he sat down, tail twitching happily. “We can only breathe fire right now, orange fire like our mama. Our daddy says that our powers probably won’t start to show until we get bigger.” He said with a happy shrug. He didn’t really care he didn’t have super special powers yet. He was just happy he had a good home.

(I was thinking that maybe when they go to look at it, which I assume was why Larkes and Aldnoa were there, something would happen. Maybe it almost gets out but its subdued. But I do like your idea of a prophecy. Maybe they get a vision or something with said message? Idk up to you xD)
Another young dragon showed up, with blue feathers instead of scales, and a body that was a dead giveaway that he would be a Lung Dragon. He looked Pyre up and down, saying "Maybe you'll get something better, ya know? My papa says that your parents don't really have anything too interesting, but mama says he's just jealous." He scratched his chin, which was already sporting a "beard" even at his young age. "Black fire and material shifting doesn't sound that great though, ya know?" He had a slight smirk as he looked down at the three younger dragons.

Sighing softly, his gears clicked as he asked "Someone must've brought this to your knowledge. A whisper perhaps? Or did you go seeking such tales out yourselves?" Aldnoa relaxed himself in a sitting position, with his head still held high. His wings pulled in neatly against his back and he spoke. "I have my sources. Some of which are murmurs, memories from a time, a millennia before this age." He closed his eyes and gathered himself before continuing. "Calculus. Astrophysics. Computer Programming. Egypt, Rome, America, and many more terms float within my head. If I focus on one, pin it down, sometimes I will remember what a derivative is, or will remember how an ancient battle went, or any other number of important memories of the age before our current one." Now he gestured to the direction he believed the hole was. "One day, during my 'meditation' hours with which I spend time doing just such as I've described, I came across a memory of a particularly concerning moment for humanity. Such a sense of fear filled me that I was bound by pride to investigate this being. Experimental biochemistry and engineering had come together to create something. That something was locked away near here, if my hypothesis are correct."

(Check my reply, both of you. Aldnoa's memories of 21st century (and possibly 22nd, too) are swimming around in corrupted files, and it takes some serious concentration to find something, as he describes. He came across a very important file, or 'memory' in his head, and focused on it, finding a terrible being made by mankind to have been locked away here. If we like, Aldnoa can dig deeper sometime to find out more about it.)

(He would need to dig deeper x3 You didn't read it, but when I was rping with Tob I mentioned that the creature had its freedom and then locked away long before humans invented so much as a wheel :'3 So Aldnoa would either have little to no knowledge on it)

(It would be a nice touch for Aldnoa's memory to be simply corrupted not by time, but by human arrogance :3)

(His memory comes from what he could find from human history. If they lied somewhere [say he stole information from the internet, but it was from something like the Onion or another satire, etc.] about how this thing came to be, or perhaps some kind of conspiracy theory... He wouldn't know the truth. Only the truth he's been told)

Pyre was just about to come back with a sharp retort when Scaws nudged his shoulder with his nose. Pyre was much more brave than Scaws, but the latter was definitely much more levelheaded and could see through the other dragon’s plot easily. “Maybe not, but they’re still very capable and helped you and I and all of us have a happy place here to live instead of living in fear of the humans.” The young Scaws said.
“Well we had received a sort of scroll through some trading with one of your people. A scroll that held what appears to be a prophecy about that trap.” He said, pulling out the scroll and holding it out to the two rulers.

AshLightningMysha simply took the scroll, using her one hand to open it up on a table and look at it. Having learned to read a year or so after she and Drake rose to power, her eyes studied the markings on the scroll. "A war of eld, brought forth by lies, and only to end when the evil is beyond held." She mumbled as she read the rest, eyes flicking across the paper. "To make its circle, blackness in its wake, only the worthy can make it quake." The blue dragon tsked. "They only did it cause they know we could kill them all if we teamed up, I bet. Papa always says so." He looked down at Pyre, sniffing him before saying "I'm Hei Lung, by the way. You should come to the arena, to watch of course." He was then cut off by Magna, who sniffed and said "Um, no. Our mama says that the arena is just for dragons who like to be bullies. Not worth watching." Xandrite had overheard them though, saying "Come on, guys. It'll be fun. We won't be fighting." She then nudged the three to follow the blue dragon, who smirked down at Pyre before turning and floating off to lead the way.

SamandrielZeta simply hummed. "... you would like our library. Our people hadn't been readers until Mysha and Drake came to power, but once they did we managed to dig up quote a collection, not that we didn't have one with the art our people are known for." His head swiveled to the side to look around, just studying as people went about their business. "But I'm afraid we are not too accepting to strangers, as you can probably tell by the apparel and decorations. We really only prefer to meet with other settlements for official matters, such as this one I suppose."

“There’s more to it as well, besides the text.” Larkes cut in, wanting to make sure to point out some key details. “Around the borders there’s some key details. Two dragons, one black and the other a plethora of colors. And two humans, one holding black flames and one holding what looks like a primitive hammer or something.” He said, pointing to what he described. “Just like you two and your dragons from what I’ve heard.”
Pyre was a bit put off by the glare he received from Hei Lung but he walked onward with his family, despite loud repeated objections from Scaws who was following them anyway. “But we shouldn’t go there! Mommy made us promise!” The timid dragon said.

Mysha studied the images, running her fingers over them carefully. Looking over at Drake, she seemed a little unsure before looking back at the scroll. "Maybe we should take the scroll there. Could lead us to something?" She then looked over at Larkes to say "I suppose you might actually want to see the place anyway, but you are to go nowhere without us while there, even if your dragon is there to protect you. Understand?"
Xandrite gently nudged Scaws' shoulder. "We'll be fine, Scaws. Just don't rat is out, and we'll be fine!" Trotting after Hei Lung, they soon found themselves in a large space that was indeed an arena. Two dragons were fighting each other, but it was more like the bigger one beating on the little one. Magna winced as the smaller brown adolescent went flying into the wall, the slightly older dragon bouncing around the edges and soaking in the cheers. "Our parents don't let us train until later, so we do it here. No rules, no requirements, best way, you know?"

Larkes nodded slowly. “Understood. From what I’ve heard it’d be in Aldnoa and my best interests not to get too close without an escort.” He said with a small shrug. “And if you’re willing to let me see this hole, that’d be very appreciated.” He said.
Pyre and Scaws looked down into the arena and Scaws immediately hid behind his big sister’s larger forepaw. He clearly didn’t like it there, with all the fighting and such. Meanwhile, Pyre just stared down into the pit, tail waving happily.

Mysha used her hand to roll up the scroll again, tossing it to Larkes. "You don't seem to have any ill-intent. If you did, you would've been ripped apart by the statues the moment your dragon touched down." The statues were a better judge of character than any human, so if they didn't attack Larkes and Aldnoa, then she somewhat trusted them. "We can go ahead and leave now, I suppose. Just get this over with."
Magna stayed beside Scaws, pressing against him for comfort because she could tell he didn't like it there. Xandrite was focused on the fighting, her emerald gaze watching curiously as the defeated dragon shakily got up and simply made his way out of the arena, though he was pushed over again when the brown dragon trotted past him, on purpose. When he didn't get up, he started getting boos and sneers like something was his fault. And that was when Magna moved, Xandrite trying to bite on her tail as she hopped over the edge, gliding down to go help him up.

It's quite an interesting case study, this place, with how isolationist it is." Aldnoa added with a nod. "Nevermind that. I would love to see your libraries. Cross-referencing that with my knowledge, and starting a dialogue between two like-minded states would be beneficial to both." Aldnoa lifted his head and watched others go as well. The armor he had adopted was made to withstand a dragon attack, as opposed to an arrow or spear like a typical dragon would have to worry about. But that armor made him stand out here so much that the looks were on him once more. He grinned at passerby when they cast him a curious glance.
